Fantasy The Book of Humanity: Rising Kingdom

Shadow Dancer

One Thousand Club
In the continent of Vilia (VIL-E-Ah) there are Three Races of beings.

Elves: Gifted with magic, agility, an unmatched grace, and long lives they occupy the forests of Vilia, their capital is Silvia. (Sil-V-Ahh)

Draconians: A race of long lived winged reptilian bipeds descendants of the ancient Dragons from thousands of years ago, they occupy the volcanic lands, their capital is Valcana (VAl-CAN-Nah) (yes it is a lazy name)

Humans: Considered to be the weakest and youngest of the three races few possessing any magical gifts, none possessing any natural defenses like claws, and living only to their sixties or seventies . They are looked down upon by the Draconians and Elves, as a pathetic and short sighted race that constantly wars among themselves. Their capital is now Winhaven

This perception has lead to a lack of attention given to the humans and in result a blindness to the humans ingenuity, rapid advancement, and most importantly to their recent unification under the banner of the wolf.

Now united, the Humans are determined to make their mark upon history, for better or worse Vilia will be changed forever, and a ragtag group of people from all races and backgrounds might just be the catalyst for that change.

(I will use first person when RPing as Indicus, 3rd is for NPC if any)

I was in a port town that was called Paradise, know for its low crime rate, good atmosphere, and a major trade route between the races. Why was I here? Well I heard about it and decided to see if I could do some odd jobs or maybe be hired out as a guard, or something. Anything to help fund this little adventure of mine. Food, water, and the such was not free after all.

So I did my least favorite thing, stood up and shouted over the noise of the docks. "Need protection from bandits, thugs?! Well look no further!" From there I listed off my legal skills, the rest would not be good to reveal. I repeated this for an hour and got no response, so I decided to take a brake and go to a tavern. There I ordered mead, bread and cheese, and ate.

Erza Shadows rides into Paradise with Roan sitting on her lap. The child was sleeping, cuddled into her mother. It had been neaely a day since they had eaten, so after rousing her toddler, Erza dismounts and ties her horse, Artemis to a post. She carries a still tired Roan into a nearby tavern, with Ez, their black kitten, scrambling out of the saddlebag in order to join them. Ez weaves around Erza's feet as she finds a table, ordering water and bread. At the mention of food, Roan perks up, her small stomach growling. The girl plays with Ez while they wait.

I gave a glance to the new arrival and was surprised to see it was a young woman with a child in her arms no less. 'Why is she traveling alone, the roads aren't very safe for women and children. If they are still alive then she must be one hell of a fighter or have some very good luck.' After mentally pondering why she was here I shrugged and went back to eating.

"Ah, finally. Darling, are food is here, get up off the floor." The serving wench placed a still-steaming loaf of bread on their table. When Roan hops up, her hair shifts and the slight point of her ears are visible. Erza quickly recovers them, hoping no one had seen. Elves weren't regarded very highly around here. Erza tears the loaf in half, then quarters before handing her daughter a piece. "Careful, love it's hot."

I took a sip of the mead, "Damn it, he watered down the mead on me again." I muttered, I sat there eating and trying to enjoy the watered down mead, "Well today did not go so well, so back to theft tonight I'll have to sell to the local fence again, the fucking draconian buys the shit for way to cheap but he is the only one that I can trust to not tell the guard that I was a thief." I yet again muttered.

(I just go with things, I could later go back and try to hire myself out as a sell sword and you could hear me while I do that but just don't respond to the post itself but just continue your previous one. It is what I sometimes do when I'm out of ideas also this is being made up as I go with only a general direction LOL)

((Alrighty.))

Roan, as always, takes a bite too quickly and burns her mouth. The whining that comes before full out crying begins, and Erza quickly sticks her finger in the water, then sticks it in Roan's mouth. She had done this often, whether it was when Roan was teething, or it was absolutely imperitivel that she be quiet. Roan quiets down, and allows the bread to cool before taking another bite. "Can I get some ale, please?" Erza calls , not willing to leaver her daughter long enough to go up and ask for it.

I finish my small meal an head out to once more try to get hired on as a sell sword and be able to fund this adventure of mine. I have went to to very huge extremes to do so some that I was not proud of.

Erza watches her daughter sit on the floor, playing with Ez. The kitten mews softly. "Ez! Ma. Ez!" Roan informs her mother of the kitten, wheter it be her presence or her name. Erza smiles, murmuring her approoval as she sips on her ale.

pbtenchi rode his horse into the port city, and dismounted, the sun was bright, he shielded his eyes with his hand. once the sun faded a little, he led his horse through the streets, keeping his eyes out for an inn.

Aer sighed, rubbing his eyes with his knuckles. "Thanks, Luca," he mumbled to the dog at his side, who was licking his other hand lovingly. The two strolled through the town, the boy often yawning. "Didn't get a lot of sleep last night," he told Luca, though obviously she couldn't understand him. "I'm hungry, too." As if on queue, Aer spotted a tavern just a little ways down the road. "Aha!" the lad grinned, then turned to the dog. "C'mon, girl, let's go get something to eat! I'm sick of berries and crap, but I don't think I can kill any animals yet." They both raced towards the tavern, Luca barking happily. "Stay here, girl, I'll be right back," the ginger reassured her. Then he went in, pulling what little money he had left, from his bag, while the golden canine decided to lay down.

Pbtenchi noticed a dog outside an inn, he walked over to the dog and rubbed its head. "what are you doing here all alone?" he asked the dog. "were you abandoned?"

Luca perked up her head at the stranger, then after sniffing his hand, licked it affectionately. Looking towards the door of the tavern, she whined and then set her head down obstinately. Meanwhile, Aer skidded up to the counter, before purchasing some bread and asking for water, which he honestly wasn't sure if they had, but hey, it was worth a shot. He noticed a little girl sitting on the ground with her cat, and hoped Luca didn't see it. He smiled at the kid, then looked over to who he assumed was her mother. She looked a little young, but who was he to judge? He shook himself. "Hey there," he grinned to the silver-haired child, crouching down so they were at about eye-level.

As I left a boy with a dog and some young man on a horse entered the inn, how or why the boy was traveling alone was beyond me. The horseman and the woman with child were easier to explain. But I still did not know why these three took my notice. It was then decided that the watered mead needed water to make the iffy flavor go away.

The dog perked up, then stood up happily, tail wagging furiously, tongue hanging out. She tugged at the man's sleeve, wanting him to come with her. Then she raced inside...and caught sight of the small kitten on the floor. Luca froze. Crispin turned and saw her in the doorway. "Luca! No!" he cried, catching on quickly. The canine charged at the cat, then skidded right in front of it, carefully avoiding the child. Luca knelt down beside the cat eagerly, panting.

"is that family your owner?" he said, standing in the doorway (he assumes they are one big family) he stepped in dramatically, well tried to, and tripped over the door step, and landed face first on the ground.

"Luca, c'mere, girl," the ginger said, patting his knee, and the dog did so faithfully. "Whoa! Are you okay, sir?!" he then cried, running over to the man's side worriedly. The dog followed, whimpering as she nudged the man's arm.

"im okay, I just haven't eaten or slept in 3 days" he said, struggling to his feet. "whats your name, kid?"

"I wouldn't call that 'okay'," the kid smirked, helping him up. "I'm Aer, and this is Luca." He gestured to the dog, who wagged her tail excitedly. "Who are you? And do you want some food?" He held out a piece of bread generously. "As for sleep, I can't help you there. I'm kind of lacking there myself." he joked.

"Um," he scratched the back of his head. "Nice to meet you!" he recovered, grinning. "Long story short, probably not, but," he shrugged, "it's no big deal really."
