The Surface Dwellers call our land by many names and they believe it to exist only in their imaginations. Surely if you're reading this, you must believe in us. It's been quite some time since the one called Alice stumbled upon us and I can only imagine the worst has happened to her upon her return. Since her departure, we have mourned the death of our king who had no heirs and left his reign to no one and much of the land is engaged in conflict as many are attempting to wrest control of the kingdom. Some find themselves deeply involved in the civil war, claiming stakes of land for their own kingdoms. Others distance themselves from it as much as possible. Our people who once stood together against a common enemy now stand divided over the distribution of land and power. Without some intervention, I fear that the land will be soaked in the blood of our kindred. Once civil and kind creatures have been reduced to the monsters that the Surface books warn the unsuspecting traveler of. Surface Dweller, if you're reading this, I need your help. Perhaps your peculiarity can unite us once again.

Plot

There exists a far away land where all things mythical and magical reside, a world of whimsy and joy... if you catch it on a good day. When a pair of curious "Surface Dwellers" happen across a strange book, they become full invested in the story of a handful of peculiar characters. But, suddenly the story with more than half the book filled with blank pages. They later return to the book to find a note that most certainly was not there before scratched onto one of the blank pages. Each day, they find new stories and notes in the book. Eventually, they seek to return the book to the shop when they purchased it from. Through a series of strange happenstances, they find themselves in the world they had read so much about in the midst of a civil war.

These roles are not first come, first serve. I'd like for this roleplay to be a long-term so I'm planning on keeping it to a small group and the initial planning and character creation might be a little extensive. Please only apply to this RP if you have the time and genuine, long-term interest. Replies should be a minimum of three paragraphs (although always, always quality over quantity) and they should have minimal mistakes. Always feel free to write more than the minimum.
