Late to the party as always! But I guess I’ll make a cousin in the Cavallaro family, a fun/light hearted kid (early 20s) who knows when it’s time to get serious. A smooth talker with reputation for being one of the most ruthless killers for his family. He’s not afraid to do the Cavallaro’s dirty work.

Also if we’re allowed two, I will make a Cuban girl, daughter of one of the most powerful drug lords in Cuban history.

For reference, my Cavallaro’s faceclaim is going to be Pepe Barroso Silva, and my Cuban girl’s fc is going to be Camila Cabello.

Kipsy @Darth : No worries guys ! I'll do my best to keep it updated until one of the GMs can make a more exhaustive post. Though I'm in England so I won't be able to keep up if things go mental over in American evening time (aka: writing hot-time)

Now that that's all a bit clearer, I've got a few ideas for characters. I'm thinking of playing two/three guys to start with - one with the police, and one a distant relative of one of the mafioso (and potentially his sister!). Can I get some clarity on the police from a co-GM though? I'm getting the impression so far that they're pretty corrupt as well and willing to side with certain mafia groups for their own gain. I was thinking of creating a slightly sociopathic Javert-style white-knight detective/cop with very strong, albeit hypocritical, moralistic views and a mission to take out the mafia. Would this fit with what you have in mind for the police?

The distant relative would be an arrogant, ambitious nephew of one of the Dons seeking to overcome the lack of power he's always felt due to being so far removed from the central family. I want to play him as flip-flopping between trying to escape the mafia and go and generally clumsily make a mess of his life, and desiring to instigate a revolution within the mafia that overturns the historical family structure that he sees as oppressing him. If I were to play his sister, she'd be a somewhat more down-to-earth character who's in it for the thrills at the start, but her empathy starts to make her question the morals of remaining in the mafia.

Sorry for the late reply! I got off track yesterday with a family function.

The Police Chief certainly has his hands greased from time to time, but I don't think they have the same understanding with every criminal organization. Some, likely the more-minority groups, aren't given much second thought unless a really nice offer comes their way. There will probably be tenuous ties to the Irish Mob but nothing concrete (as of yet). I think someone who's out to do their own thing and might view the Force as corrupt / inept wouldn't have the wrong sense of it all, and could be a cool addition to our numbers! As long as he isn't immediately running around, gunning people down Punisher style. That might give him a short shelf life.

I def think that extended-relatives are open for all the Mafia families? I'd just check ahead of time with Somnus ailurophile For the one crime family and Braddington for the Scilabra's to better coordinate your characters if that's the direct you're going for, unless you're looking at the current unoccupied Mafia family.

For the Cavallaro's, I think the main participants of that family are TheFool Somnus ailurophile for direct family members, if you wanna try to set or establish anything with them!
I don't know if we're going too big with the head honcho's either, in regards to your Cuban Drug Lord. He might need to be downsized to fit the town, otherwise I think he / his daughter might have too much influence and power for the other competing interests to really do much against. Especially since the Cubans are the new kids on the block.

And yeah, due to his own hypocritical moral virtues he's not going to go around gunning down all the other mafia characters, don't worry He'd try to be as pacifistic as possible, whilst also generally being a condescending jerk to the majority of other character and working more covertly blackmailing people, trying to manipulate people, etc.

As for which family to choose with my cousin characters, I'm having real trouble deciding which family to go with as there's good incentives for my guy to want radical change in every family. So I'll probably decide right at the end of finalising my character form.

Are we still waiting on TheFool 's return before we start putting characters up and moving discussions further? Speaking of which, when is he planned to return?

TheFool Should be back either sometime tonight or tomorrow, according to what he told us. But with him, you can never really know. It could be a day sooner or a day later. But it won't be anything too crazy long!
