eeek the hardest part of this for me is figuring out who to use as a character

I'm so stoked
Feel free to use whomever you want. And so long as there isn't a line to get in, once your character's time in the bar is over you're more than welcome to bring in another.

Well done in managing to describe the individuals fully enough to give a good idea of what they look like without having a picture or appearance section of a character sheet to fall back on.

I wasn't sure how I'd approach the barkeeper holding two separate intimate conversations at once. I thought about introducing some other patrons of the bar and split interactions between them, but decided that at least for now I'd keep it just the barkeep and his two guests to establish the more intimate tone of the setting (That's not to say there won't be other characters showing up eventually, just not right at the beginning. Think of this as an establishing episode.). So then I had the idea of him literally being in two places at once, or splitting the perceptions of the two patrons so each was alone wit him. Instead I said fuck it, we're heading straight (or is it?) into non-Euclidean architecture.

Try to make sense of that on the scale of a few feet, I dare ya.

Salmiakki Koskenkorva: Kossu Viina mixed with crushed black salt licorice. You were just served a Finnish specialty. I've personally heard it tastes like salty motor oil or charcoal mixed with vodka, but let's go with sweet.

"No one is from here, this is a bar, a place of drinking. I cannot deny that life may have been conceived within this establishment, but I am fairly certain that even fewer children have been born here. I am a barkeep; my job is to deliver drinks, not children into the world."

ARE YOU IMPLYING HE HAS ACTUALLY HAD TO DELIVER BABIES IN THIS BAR OH MY GOD

The baby looked up at the golden-haired man, his eyes wide with the anticipation of life. He spoke softly, his newly-birthed vocal chords still adjusting to the cold air of the outside world. "I'll take a milk, on the rocks."

Cue the barkeep, whipping up a fancy virgin drink and diluting it with milk. Strapping on the nipple of a baby bottle, shaking it up, and handing it to the baby. Sayin some shit like "My my, I thought I'd seen everything. But a talking baby? Hope you have a toy or some shit mom, cause I got better shit to do than babyshit this bitch."

The man behind the bar held the newborn with practiced ease, as if delivering a child into the world was yet another of his many hobbies. When the mother asked for her child, he obliged and returned it to her. But rather than assist the mother or father in his efforts to do so, he simply returned to his position behind the bar. He washed his hands out of necessity, and after some searching - it was an exceedingly a rare thing to see this man uncertain as to a particular spirit's location - he produced what appeared to be an old ceramic vase, corked and sealed. What manner of drink was contained within was only hinted at by the depiction of a bird, possibly a pigeon or dove, on the neck of the vase. The man held the vase before him and paused, staring only at it, and then the moment passed and his gaze fell upon the child.

He unsealed the vase and removed its cork, and a floral fragrance instantly filled the interior of the bar. Into a shallow saucer he poured the contents of that vase, before resealing it and returning it to its place hidden within that wall of countless other spirits. The man approached the couple with child again, one hand holding the saucer of unknown drink. "I am no doctor, nor am I a healer. I am not equipped to ensure that this child has entered the world healthy or whole, nor do I know what I should do to ensure the mother's recovery. A bar is no place for a new life to enter the world." He shook his head. "I merely provide drink and conversation to whomever passes through my doors. But you," he stared at the child oddly, only after a delay coming up with his omnipresent smile, "you didn't come here through that manner, now did you? And your conversation skills are, as of the present moment, terribly underdeveloped. Unequipped and unprepared, I am left with only one role left available to me."

The man bent down to kneel beside the parents and child, revealing the saucer to be filled with what looked to be liquid gold, so closely did its appearance resemble the metal's shine, or the hair and eyes of the person presenting it. Neither parent moved upon seeing the unknowable liquid, but the child's own impossibly tiny hands reached towards it, and time itself seemed to cease, or at the very least neither parent made any motion to stop him, as the man brought the golden drink to the child's lips. In a moment there was nothing left, no signs that anything besides the lips of that child had ever touched the bare saucer.

He stood and returned to behind the bar and began to clean the saucer. "It appears that I spilled a drop," he commented, and sure enough there was a single golden drop of liquid sitting on the cheek of the now-sleeping child. The mother reached to brush it away, but the liquid disappeared upon touching her skin. The man behind the bar smiled softly at having served yet another patron.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been posting! I've been at work and had pretty busy days lately. I'll try to fit some replies in as often as I can but please be patient with me!!

"Father?"

He turned to face the one whom had spoken, his child. One of those countless bastards that coveted his power. Did this one think today was his chance to tear down the one who had created him? Fools. Every one of them.

"What is it child?" he asked as he leaned down to place a hand on the child's head with a kindly smile on his face.

The child, a young boy clad in only a strip of golden cloth, held up a makeshift bowl of leaves, a golden liquid held within. "Drink," he urged. "Drink it."

Was this poison? Likely. Perhaps he'd been sent by one of the others, or perhaps he was simply trying his best while lacking any understanding of subtlety. Either way it did not matter. He would answer each and every challenge to his rule.

"Very well, I will drink it." He took the crude container from the child and brought it to his lips. The liquid inside shimmered with a reflected golden light. He drank.

"Good?" The child asked.

He wiped his mouth, as the leaf bowl had allowed some to spill, and then licked those drops from is fingers. His golden eyes shone with a ravenous curiosity. They turned to the child. "Tell me child, where did you get that drink?"

Honestly guys, I've got a lot of things consuming my time. It might be better to let someone else jump into the rp than make you guys wait on me. This is the first time I've been able to reply to anything in a week, and you guys deserve better than that. I really loved this idea and it inspired me a lot, and it was really great playing with you guys! Good luck to you!

aww sorry to hear that, hope everything's okay in your life!! <3

That's fine. I'll write your character out and bring someone else in, but if you ever want to come back, same character or not, there'll be a seat at the bar.

The altered atmosphere of the bar will make those inside more numb to strange things such as a person seemingly fading from existence mid-conversation.
