In most fantasy where there is powerful magic, there will be instances when the world would face an apocalyptic challenge. Be it Demons, monsters, discovering the cost of magic could destroy the world, or so on, these fantastical adventures generally revolve around the battle against danger. That battle raging against the surface of Alargran was approaching its inevitable end with many chunks of land having been lost under the ocean under the Corruption's influence. Despite that, the darkness spread faster, turning plants, animals, and anything that touched it into mobile, bloodthirsty monsters with land disappearing behind them days later. They still had their intelligence but their minds had been twisted and empowered as if the corruption was some sort of evil cult's brainwashing ritual.
One of the few remaining magical scholars had decided, rather than fight until the bitter end, he'd preserve what he can. Instead, he appeared before a select group of people and after telling them they've been chosen to survive, he shoved them through a portal that immediately closed behind them. Once through these people found themselves on a chunk of land, with woodlands to one side, mountains on another, and a dropoff into a dark, endless void on the third, and in between is a clear expanse of land. Floating all around this land are other chunks moving at various speeds and directions, obviously bound to someday combine into just one landmass. What the scholar told them was their only guidance. Survive...and to that means rebuilding civilization here in a seeming pocket dimension.
Rules
1) RPN rules of course apply
2) Be polite to each other, this includes not playing another's character without permission
3) No overpowered characters
4) No very old characters. Younger ones (at least old enough to help out around there) are allowed if they're related to an older person who was the scholar's actual selection.
5) Each character will have their own skill sets, while that can include magic, magic should be weaker or beginner-level.
6) I'm looking for between 3 - 6 players, the number of characters per person will depend on how many are interested in joining.
7) Would prefer those joining be 18+
8) One thing to be aware of is that the island characters were initially sent to is peaceful, but additional islands won't necessarily be like that.
