One Time Luck
Do you think you are an amazing rider? Is your horse as fast as the wind? Do you know you can beat anyone in a race no matter the distance or challenges along the way? Well partner do I have a race for you.
50 miles in the blaring hot desert with a couple rest stops along the way. The person who makes it to the finish line first wins a heck load of money and of course the bragging right to say they won the horse race.
So saddle up your horse and make sure none of your opponents is out to get you. Course things can happen along the way with so few other there 'cept you and your horse and the others. Chances are you might not make it out unscathed and your horse might not either.
There is also the weather to think about. No need to let yourself and your horse collapse from dehydration but it is always a risk. Same with sandstorms, poisonous snakes and whole other slew of things that could go wrong.
But you ain't worried right? You're the best after all, right?
