When you were a child, do you remember the stories your mother or father used to tell you? To never dangle your toes off the end of your bed, or to avoid breaking mirrors in the dark? They told you creatures would come and get you if you were naughty, and replace you with an ugly and hungry version of yourself. They told you if you were having bad luck, to throw a silver coin over your shoulder. Whatever was bothering you will accept the payment, and scurry off to annoy another poor bloat. When you were young, you laughed and agreed to never be bad. But as you grew older and older, the stories simply became stories.
Fae weren't real, and your parents just wanted to scare you into behaving.
Yet, you've always wondered about them to yourself. You wondered if there was some truth to the stories they told, and if the creeping suspicion you had that someone was watching you wasn't just an itch.
But now, something has happened. Something very bad has happened, and you know the truth. Others know the truth, and you're not alone.
The fae were real, and they were at war. And you're in the center of it all.

Hello! I've always loved fae, and I've been meaning to do a story with them. The idea behind this RP would be a group of young adults, brought together by one thing; They were all sharing a body with a royal fae. Sent away from their home into the mortal realm, each one possessed a different human to try and regain a body after they were murdered years ago. They've laid dormant for years inside their hosts as they grew older, but now the time has come for them to return to the Courts. Unfortunately for the fae, the humans they're inhabiting don't want to give up their bodies just yet. Slowly turning into a fae themselves, these confused young adults are drawn together by an unseen force. Together, they decide to try and find a solution to the raging war in the Courts, and to get the fae back into their own bodies before it's too late. Do you remember them?

a set of rules to ensure that the roleplay thrives:
- first up: Please read through the lore tab, completely. I will be happy to answer questions about the RP and the lore due to the confusing nature of fae, but I won't be too happy if I already answered something. If you need further explanation, I'll be happy to try and work it out with you.
- face claims: Here's the fun part! You will be having TWO faceclaims! And even more so, one will be drawn and one will be realistic. Your realistic faceclaim will be your main one, while your drawn one will be your fae.
You say, 'Brook, I'm absolutely rubbish at finding art, and this seems unfair. Can't you help?" The answer is, of course! In fact, I hopefully have something that will completely alleviate the struggle of looking for art. I've created a Pinterest board with specific drawings of fae inside in the forms of portraits, and you'll be selecting one of those to include in your sheets. [Click me!] As you can see, each drawing has a name under them. If you express your interest, please comment the name of the Fae portrait you wish to use when applying. Only ONE person can have ONE portrait, unless two players OOC consent to possibly having twin characters. - the characters: Your characters are in the prime of their youth, meaning they'll all be 20-25 or so. No one younger, and no one older! They were specifically picked by fae for these reasons. You may make NPCs to use inside the RP like family members or friends, but contact me if you want something more large-scale.
- the writing: This is a literate RP. I don't expect perfection, and grammatical mistakes will happen. (And you won't be mean to anyone who makes one!) However, you must have a firm grasp on the English language, and be able to properly form and structure sentences.
- the length: A minimum of three paragraphs or so, which are about 3-5 sentences each. Again, this will be a literate RP and I want people to bring their best.
- the activity: There will be no posting order, unless a certain event occurs in which one is desired. However, I want at least one post a week. I've been more lenient in the past about this with other RPs I've run, but I'm seriously looking for active people. However, if you give me the smallest heads-up about being unable to post, I'll let ya go as long as you need. Just don't vanish, or your character will too.
- the spots: I'm looking for around eight players, and you will be applying for certain roles. The fae specifically picked your character as a host because they had a vague outline of their life in the future, and it matched their desired body needs. I'm lenient on gender, but I do want to try to keep it even. You may comment your interest on which role you will be applying for, but it's not guaranteed! (Unless you're like the only person to apply for it.)
- the drama: There will be drama in the RP. There will not be drama OOC, period. I know nearly everyone on this site is amazing and this most likely won't be an issue, but it's just a forewarning. If you are a bad little boy, I will kick ya out.
- last up: Only apply if you are CERTAIN you will be active. I don't want someone upset because they didn't get the role, only to later see the person who got it isn't even active. (If that happens, I'll probably replace them with said person who is upset.)
- additionally: Please remember to comment the name of the fae-art you want!
Never trust them.

the roles
the dreamer: Young and optimistic, this young human grew up seeing the best in everyone. No matter what life threw at them, they overcame each obstacle stronger than ever. Hosting the youngest Seelie royal fae, who still hopes the war can be solved through peace.
the morbid: The complete opposite of the dreamer. This human grew up in a tough and lonely environment, and has grown strong and cold on their own. No matter what happens, they know they'll survive by themselves. Hosting the eldest Unseelie royal fae, who wants to escape from the war completely and let others solve it.
the warrior: Powerful and bitter, this human grew up fighting their entire life. No matter who it was, they were brought down by the warrior. Now trying to become a professional fighter, this human is held back by their inner doubts. Hosting the royal general of the Unseelie, this fae struggles to understand their own role in the war.
the seer: Mythic and bizarre, this human grew up learning the art of fortune telling with their mother. Unsure if what they told their customers was true, the seer is disillusioned with their life. Hosting the royal seer of the Seelie court, who is racked with guilt after inaccurately predicting the peace feast would be a success. [Claimed.]
the casanova: A true player, this human grew up wooing others into working for them. Though morally challenged, they never stopped to question why they spent so much time winning the hearts of others only to break them. Hosting the royal adviser of the Seelie court, this fae spent their time fooling around with others instead of confronting the work they had to do.
the assassin: Sly and sneaky, this human lived in the shadows their entire life and liked it. Attention was never their strong-suit, and they've got an awfully good aim when it comes to archery. Hosting the royal assassin of the Uneelie court, this fae was blamed for the entire poisoning despite being innocent.
the fool: A joker at heart, this joyful human grew up making others laugh. Nothing was sweeter than seeing others smile, no matter the joke. Hosting the royal jester of the Seelie court, this fae wonders if their performance was a distraction that allowed for the slaughter.
the forgotten: No one remembers them, because they never wanted to stand out. This human hated their loneliness, but was too scared to step into the limelight for some reason. Despite their excellent leadership skills, this human was simply forgotten. Hosting the royal 'Shadow' of the Unseelie court, this fae worked as a spy for the King and was never allowed friendships.
the courts
unseelie court
no-fae land
seelie court
forgottenThe four courts of the fae are normally only seen as 'two.' The Seelie, and the Unseelie. The No-Fae Land and Forgotten are lawless courts, controlled by whoever kills the most to stake their claim. No-Fae Land is particularly brutal due to the war, while the Forgotten have been reigned by a single Queen for a long time. Though, she's unrecognized as a true heir to the more pampered Seelie and Unseelie courts. While the Seelie court is known for their festivals and warm summers, the Unseelie are characterized by their brutal winters and even more brutal gladiatorial games. Though one may seem more cruel than the other, both are unwavering and violent in their beliefs. [Your character will belong to either Seelie or Unseelie royalty. If you wish to know more about the other two 'courts,' feel free to ask!]
the war
When the war began, each court believed it'd be over quickly. They both underestimated each other, and neither expected betrayal inside their own courts. Assassinations are common, and so are executions. The battle has been landlocked for years, after each young royal fae was slaughtered at a peace banquet.

The fae-inhabited lands is dubbed 'Veprax,' though it's divided into the four courts of the fae. While the Seelie court hosts endless summers and grassy fields, the Unseelie court is an frozen forest of snow and ice. The No-Fae land is covered in bones and vines, a tribute to the death that haunts the soil. And no fae knows what the Forgotten looks like. Anyone who enters the land, never returns.
