It's never easy to prove a theory right, mostly because it's simply just an idea, usually with nothing to back it up. However, some theories just may be right.

This RP is about the proof.

July 27, 2015

Traverse City, Michigan

The day is mostly sunny, partially cloudy. The air is rather chilly and crisp. And several adults are getting ready to go hiking in a national park about a couple hundred miles away. But they are completely unaware of the fact that they are about to make the biggest discovery of all time.

(Your starters should include you getting ready and loading up in the van. @SoreFingertips @Swimswamswom
@TurtleLife @XxLuluxX Have fun!)

Hands.

A hand grabs a water bottle and pauses, thumb circling over the cold plastic, taking in the texture. This is his hand. Ben Diamond's hand. His senses sharpen, opening to all the details of the water bottle; all of its tiny, individual droplets glinting in the sun. He's alive. This is proof. But why?

Why the fuck am I here?

Ben breathes, slowly at first, then out all at once and shakes his head. Shut up, he tells himself, you're supposed to be getting away from all of this. And he's right. It isn't any time to bring his shit here. This is just a simple and fun hiking trip with some friends.

A simple and fun hiking trip.

The van's almost ready for him. After throwing the last water bottle into the cooler, Ben loads it into the back and puts on a smile to convince himself. Forget about everything for now; just have some fun with your friends. Turning towards the others, he asks, "How about you guys? Got any stuff left?"

TOBI

Tobi sniffed, her nose runny from the cool air. She had been the first to load her stuff, so she took to standing back and watching the others, ready to help if need be. She didn't voice it, but the smile on her face made it very clear how excited she was for this trip. The young girl had a gut feeling this would be a very exciting trip, and that was a welcomed change from her usually boring life.

"I'm all set." She smiled coolly, but on the inside she was anxious. She wanted to leave as soon as possible, ready to explore and replace the setting with forestry.

Renee breathed in the crispy air, allowing it to wholly invade her lungs, pushing out and thus replacing the stale smell of the city. She detested large establishments, where everyone was always hurrying along the streets, moving briefly through life without getting the chance to even enjoy it. There was no charm in the artificial lights that blocked out the stars of the universe, or in the cement that suffocated the little plants. There was simply no charm left to belong to the man-made since Nature had taken it all, as it rightfully belonged to Her. The freshness of the wild was simply irreplaceable and something that put Renee at easy, ceasing the flow of time and allowing the girl to become in tune with all.

Despite this, It had been a while since the last time the girl had actually gotten the chance to travel with good friends because, between arguments and persuasions on part of her parents and general worry over rent, she was too preoccupied, for the first time in her life, to actually go enjoy the outdoors.

Yet, this would change soon as she tossed the solitary loaded backpack in the trunk of the car. "I'm ready to roll as well" she said to her companions, giving off a smile full of excitement.

Edwards head snapped up from the watch he was fumbling around with, after taking it apart. He abandoned the cause and stuffed it in his pocket. "Ah, yes. Im ready" He smiled.

The day was perfect, sunny, yet with a cool breeze. The start of the day was always the best for this type of thing. Edward always seemed to relish in long hikes, feeling the tug and burn of muscle as they gasped for oxygen, the sun beating down in desperate attempts to fell them...

He might have sounded a little crazy, but he was a real enthusiast when it came to the outdoors.

Edward hitched his rucksack up, quickly checking he had everything, before looking at the small group. "Shall we then?"
