Fantasy That time the Demon king's army got decimated (rp started, still accepting 3 sheets)

Like the title suggests, it's a isekai deal what with a medieval world with magic, special weapons and cheat abilities.
The catch here is you are against the human armies and those damned God sent souls with powers that just seem like cheating...

If you choose to play you are apart of the demon kings army. Specifically I'd like you to create one of the demons king's generals, each one hand selected by the demon king for multiple reasons.
These generals are intelligent, skilled, fearsome, powerful...
Lesser men die of fright in their immediate presence,
Most men cower and shake when they see these monsters,
But the God sent souls are different. They have power and abilities that can only be described as unfair.

The flying eyes and shadows report the same thing...
"A young human wielding a glowing weapon capable of vast destruction..."
"This human was duplicating antidotes, then changed the weather to kill the..."
"Some asshole with a fuckoffsized blade took out the entire wolf pack..."

The humans send armies towards Darkan, their forces are led by powerful champions. The Demon king is understandably pissed off...
When the giant horned thunder wolves got hunted?
Fair enough these things happen.
When a human is able to slay a demon in single combat?
It's not unheard of but still unlikely.
When a entire undead army of fifty thousand is burnt to ashes in one night?
Well thats some taurshit there and the Demon king wants to know why monsters are suddenly getting slaughtered.
Seriously that undead army was created by the first general Sandro Orpheus, master of necromancy aswell as being a elf vampire...
For Sandro and his army to be slain overnight is some scary bewildering stuff.

As such the demon king has ordered his elite to figure out how to take out these damn champions.

Basically your on the evil side of a medieval fantasy, most humans are scared of monsters and for good reason as monsters are dangerous etc. But it's those damn isekai souls with cheat powers/weapons that's causing problems.
You and the rest of the demon kings army need to figure out some way to deal with them before they reach the lands of Darkan and murder your king.

Post requirements is two paragraphs or more twice a week,
I imagine this like Overlord and konosuba if that's easy to picture.
You can be almost any monster/race etc so long as it can fit inside a house and communicate, won't be accepting medieval fantasy Godzilla for example.
You can play as multiple characters, but I'd prefer if everyone made a general before making say skeleton warrior A and B

Some examples of generals in the story that have been dealt with before the rp starts...
The demon kings first general Sandro Orpheus, A gifted elf who mastered more than fifty two types of magic while living. Sandro became a vampire at his peak which was age 157, in the years after he became a master of all types of necromancy. He and his army got murked...

The demon kings third general Thaddeus the mighty, a minotaur standing 9ft tall clad in impenetrable armor forged from the scales of dragons and minerals deep underground. Thaddeus swung a bastard sword forged from a lava wyrms spine and commanded a squad of ten minotaurs capable of his keen intellect and skill for battle. He and his squad are now willing slaves to some human female...

Moltan the ifreet was a fiery spirit from hell given form on the mortal plane to become the demon king's fourth general. Said spirit could summon the flames of hell, it now lives in some kids sword...

a monster/mirror thing like if the mimic chests in darksouls mixed with your standard disney fantasy magic mirror.

First place for swerve or twist general was a fae/fairy. Well written to be "evil" but not on a visual level.

My idea is an animated construct made out of spellbooks by the Demon King.
He can cast the spells in his spellbooks and absorb new books.

To be fair I can't say yay or nay before seeing the sheet as reading a cs helps alot when figuring out balance an lore shit.

He doesn't have that many spells. He's mostly made up of nonmagical books.
His main powers are flight, shapeshifting (humanoids only and if his disguise is wounded it breaks), creating magical shields, creating magical restraints, and creating magic projectiles.
To make up for his powers he's weak to fire (because he's made of paper), can only use one spell at a time, and it's easy to see which spell he's casting when he's casting it.

Does that work? I don't think he's stronger than the vampire character you posted.

I get that is somewhat vague so my fault there.

I assumed potential players would make characters that fell under the large umbrella of "acceptable" and any unique ideas like the books, magic mirror etc would get told early that a change may be needed or there's a chance I won't accept it.

An agile and flexible demon who can stretch his limbs to increase his reach and stick to walls.
An amorphous slime monster that can turn his body acidic.
A demonic dragon that can breath corruptive magic instead of fire.

As overlord one of your examples can have seldom aware commanding golems should a player have been one.

Most things can work. I'm fine with elementals like say a living lava golem, a water nymph, toxic sludge/slime etc. So long as it makes sense with what i posted in the check it should be right.

I would disagree as you honestly to have a no category which counters the any monster. Constructs are a large category from mindless to hyper intelligent to being mech suits for an elemental

Demons born in another realm, a elf accidentally made contact with a certain demon and opened a hole to the mortal realm. That demon became king and led those who would follow into taking over the new world.
During the 200 years before the rp starts. Demons have taken over the elves homeland terraforming it into a hellish landscape much like the demonrealm. That's Darkan.
They have conquered the dwarf kingdoms and moved onto taking over beastkin lands.

Before they could invade the human kingdom of Restag is when isekai heroes start murking generals and armies

Demons usually have a single sort of magic, stretching physically is a good one. But demons can make deals with others to gain or give powers. (So you could add to it some if you like)
With demonic contracts the demon king has become the most powerful thing in both realms...
(Until the gods intervened)
Stronger than mortal races etc They can die by normal means but their main weakness is anything with "holy energy/mana"

If they have half a brain yes they would want a spy tgat literally can take over a body permanently and spread through the entire kingdom like an unseen plauge if anything he should fear it subverting all his none undead physical troops

Yea I'm not saying the thing isn't scary or OP, it's more finding a balance for it working in a fantasy rp.
Like the thing could have taken over a kingdom before the demon king even rocked up.
Same way a dragon could have enslaved or killed half the world if I wanted to write it so...

Like I've said I'd need to see a sheet before I can say yay or nay to it. But I'd much prefer something more fantasy.
Minotaur, dragon, slime, insectoid, elementals, dark elves, orcs, goblins, kobolds etc
Lots of things can fit without having to contrive or nerf them

Look I don't know what to tell you, the title is pretty clear on this being a losing battle.
Though I think the thing could work, like you said it's a thing that won't instantly die due to being a hive mind etc.
But my gm tingle senses a fair bit of potential bullshit/extra work to make it fit and be balanced.

On the same page though there is a fair bit of bullshit the cast will be facing in terms of isekai weapons/powers. Everyone could potentially be one shotted depending on who they face and how.

Reading the description made me laugh, so I’m definitely interested. I’m a huge fan of isekai stories but the mcs are always so overpowered, I like the idea of being on the receiving end of their cheat magic. I’ll stew on this a bit tonight to see what I can come up with and work on a character sheet tomorrow.

This plot is so funny to me, I'm in. Gimme a day or two to come up with a character and a design, and I'll be golden. I've already got ideas for a stupidly badass creature who I absolutely cannot wait to see one-shot by some blonde bishounen with a buster sword.
