This close the pale blonde became more apparent that it was the very real hair color, the thin eyebrows and even eyelashes a matching shade over the amber gold eyes. The face and eyes were human enough otherwise, although they shared the same intensity commonly found in a bird of prey. It was an intensity that the being turned to Aram. “The word ‘Speedy’ is a nickname?” No wonder the translator didn’t make any sort of effort to translate it. Shaking the mane of hair slightly, the being looked back to Lucky. “If you would kind to explain its meaning later.”

“My true name is Karif’ocuar, titled Kiyote.” Unsurprisingly the translator made no more effort than it had earlier on the detailed names and titles, something that they actually found themselves somewhat more thankful for. “Although by now my title has probably been Weiltor.”

The wings made a quiet sound at the shift in weight, the eyes settling once again on Aram rather than the group. “I find I am fond of the address ‘Chris’ that I have heard. I rather hope that it is a name, or nickname, rather than a title that I may use it.” It was close enough to the first part of their true name, at least enough to respond to it. Plus it has something of a nice flow with sounds that the being was used to in their own language.

Robin had to admit, despite having seen Batman and others do it a number of times, it was still somewhat intimidating to have someone step off a building and land without any apparent effort right in front of him. Especially when that person…being? No, person worked better…especially when that person wasn’t getting the effect through some cape. Those wings were very real, fully functional, and had cut through his bola like it was nothing. Not that he was going to show that it affected him at all, instead he was glancing over the being’s ensemble. This close Robin was able to see a bit more of the detail. Karif, or Chris, was still in armor but it was lighter than the guards had. Robin wasn’t willing to put a lot of faith on that being the only reason that Chris had been fully capable of outrunning them. He seemed leaner than them, and the wings that had been in full display were slightly different. If that actually meant something would have to remain to be seen. The sword settled along the being’s spine suggested that even if caught this being wasn’t going to be some helpless victim. “Chris is a pretty common name.”

Stepping back from the angel, Robin gestured towards the entrance, briefly considering if the wings would even fit. No, most of the doors had been built with someone like cyborg or hawkgirl in mind, if not larger. Those wings when folded would fit. Plus, there was slightly more important things to be considering. Like the title that Chris had given. “Your title used to be Kiyote?” Whatever that meant, it was a term that he had used before. “Like the Kiyote that were under…whoever made the gate in the first place?” Hoping to instill some faith in them, and make it seem like more of an innocent question rather than an interrogation, Robin moved as he spoke. The way back into the garage and from there the basement opened for him, the boy wonder stepping into the partial darkness only to have the lights come on.

He was curious though, if the title was the same, or if it was as specific as something like that. Because if it was, then that meant that Chris was one of those who had been under the scientist that created the gate. Certainly it would explain how he was able to get so close to something like that, not once but twice. It also probably meant that he had been involved with building them in the first place. Robin stopped a few feet into the garage, far enough that Chris would have a roof over his head and at least one titan to his back. “Is there another gate inside that box, or plans for one?” Chris had said that both of the known prototypes had been destroyed, but that didn’t mean that someone who had worked with the person creating them wouldn’t know where others were, or where the designs were.

Will hadn't ignored Chris's positioning of himself. Smart guy. However, Will wasn't going to do something drastic around Robin. He was smarter than that. Will had to admit, he was pretty bloodthirsty at the moment. He'd gotten a little bit of action the previous night, and the night before and the night before for well.... a year? two maybe? Going 24 hours without scattering someone's brains was a drastic change of pace. He wasn't used to having to wait on someone else's call before he could run someone into the dirt.

As he passed he sword he picks it up, twirling it with practiced dexterity to the point the air whistled past the bladed edge. "Had a date with a boy named Chris one." Will jokingly speaks up. "He's dead." He added in the most deadpan manner he could. He called that a 'date', it was more of a set up, although not intentional. Just further proof that when Will wanted someone to stop chasing him, it'd be in their best interest to stop pursuing.

He followed along behind in a slight, skipping manner. He decided to let that unsettling statement hang there and to let Robbin figure out all the networking. He'd be back to unnerve later.

Lucky

"Sure thing," the girl with pigtails said to the winged guy, when he asked for explanation on the nickname later. Naturally, she didn't bother to explain it now instead. "Whoa, Karifo...uh, Keeyoo...yeah, let's just do Chris. Nice wings by the way. Very stylish."

All of this was said with a casual confidence her body language didn't quite mirror. Truth was, the winged man seemed very capable. Maybe too capable for a band of teenagers just assembled. If he decided to cause trouble, it might be more than they could handle. She didn't let it show on her face but it translated into a bit of nervous energy, into the need to shift her posture from arms at the side to arms folded across her chest, to leaning against a pillar, to stretching.

Thankfully, Robin took the lead and Lucky fell in beside him. This Robin, or this version of Robin, had the level head and diplomatic ability she'd come to hope for. Better than she had, anyway. The Hive Five had experienced some success but Lucky was well aware of her own shortcomings as a leader. At least Boy Wonder was more up for it than she was.

Then the comments about gates clicked. "Are we going to be invaded?" she asked, sounding much more casual than she felt about it.

Lucky’s compliment was met with a slight inclination of the head and shoulders, the wings unfurling to show a glimpse of the inner pattern before they folded back and Chris turned their attention to the opening that Robin had made. Really, for an opening in the ground it wasn’t small. Chris could probably spread the wings out to their full width and not touch either side. It did however, clearly lead underground and who knew how narrow it became later on.

Chris stopped right at the threshold, the wings twitching into little furls and unfurls like they couldn’t quite settle into a comfortable position. Not really a conscious thing though, since the amber eyes were staring straight ahead at the space that was now so brightly lit. A moment went by before the being drew in a deep breath, and stepped forward. Still ill at ease, but following for now. At least the one with the sword was behind, the wings settling loosely at the back in a way that covered nearly all vital areas, leaving only the strip of the spine and neck visible, the scale plating of the armor dulled so that it didn’t glint in the light although the sword made it obvious that the area was heavily protected anyway.

When the leader of this group paused, turning back to ask his question, Chris came to a silent stop. Not that it seemed to ruffle the being overly as the gaze swept over Robin. If Chris was a touch paler, or the heart was being at a slightly higher pace, then so be it, the rest of the reaction was kept well enough hidden. “There are many Kiyote.” Before Chris could really elaborate on the meaning of the title, another question was posed. This time the reaction wasn’t as subtle, the surprise flashing across the features above the mask and the wings going lax. They drew in a moment later, although the being’s stance was slightly different, closer to that of a fighting stance, or one that would allow a takeoff although likely the group would think that was just training, just habit since the ceiling above would block any attempt at the sky. “The box contains a gas. It breaks the bonds between cells, effectively stripping flesh to dust anywhere it touches or is inhaled.” Chris’s head tilted, locking the predatory gaze on those in front although the ones behind were kept well in mind. It was a true enough statement about what was in the box, the safeguard triggered by anyone who happened to get the code right without knowing the little trick that would make it safe. “It would be a last effort to prevent any force from being capable of attacking unprovoked.” Drawing wings in slightly, striving to appear completely confident in that answer, and what it implied about Chris’s willingness to be trapped in the radius if it meant taking out the threat, the being turned to Lucky. “Everything I have done has been in effort to prevent an invasion, of anyone.”

"Karif... ocuar?" Aram said, testing the name as he heard it. The teen sighed and shook his head, knowing that he probably would never utter that name ever again in his life. It sounded too foreign for him, especially since it was from another dimension entirely. He then nodded when the pale blonde male continued and told them to call him Chris. Aram nodded. "Chris it is then. You can call me Aram." He said without missing a beat, not minding the fact that an unknown factor knows his name. Once more, there wasn't as much repercussions as others when it came to revealing who he truly was because he doesn't actually 'exist'. Being raised by that mysterious stranger outside of the government's eyes, Aram managed to live quite freely without any strings attached. Though this also meant that he had a hard time getting an ID, which he has a fake one of, and would probably get in loads of trouble when they finally find out.

With ears perked to listen, he went on ahead downwards but didn't stray away too far from them. It was only to assure that he would get to the area first so that he could actually brew some tea for all of them. It wouldn't be of high quality but that didn't really matter, now did it? As they continued to question Chris, they got to the point about asking about the rift gates and what was within the box. The reply that came from the winged being was certainly unnerving. "Well now, we should probably not have decided to try and open it huh?" He said with a sigh. There were things that greatly disturbed him - dying was one of them.

His tense body relaxed a bit when Chris mentioned that he had been trying his best to prevent anyone from invading another place. Well, that was good, wasn't it? It meant that Chris wasn't all that bad. While he knew that they couldn't let him go just like that, he was quite confident that the guy wasn't as bad as the others that he came with. He nervously fiddled with his sleeves as they continued to question him - by them, he really just meant Robin and Lucky, the ones with the most experience out of all of them. They seemed to have gotten through hell and back from their respective dimensions. He had started to admire their courage more and more. He obviously looked up to them as heroes, but he'll need to wait until they actually get into more action to see if they were better friends. His mentor always told him to treasure those around him, since he would need more than just teammates to have a good team.

"I mean, I know you said that the box doesn't contain a gate or anything but you still haven't answered the other question - is anyone going to reproduce it?" Aram asked, repeating Robin's question. "Surely, there is someone in your home planet who knows what to do to make it."

How ill at ease Chris seemed with going underground wasn’t missed by Robin, although really it made sense. A being with wings couldn’t really react or fight well in a closed space, making them far more vulnerable. Plus, while Robin could pick up on the little signs that Lucky was giving off, someone who didn’t know them would probably only read confidence in the group and their own abilities.

Robin paled at the contents of the box, snapping out the communicator. He didn’t believe Chris just outright, but even the possibility of releasing something like that in such an enclosed space. Flipping it open he hesitated for just a moment before just sending to all the communicators he had handed out. It would be easier, and all in all it was probably better to let anyone who wasn’t standing in this group know the potential danger. [Kage, leave the box. It might be deadly.] Chris hadn’t stated that directly, but Robin had little doubt about what kind of effect turning the lining of someone’s lungs to dust would be.

The ethics of it Robin couldn’t really argue though, even if he was supposed to be on the shining side of good. His mentor had walked a grey line after all, and Robin had seen…and done…a lot of things to survive and maybe win that eventually came to naught. He was under no illusion that had he had access to a gas like Chris gave the description of, that he wouldn’t have used it. It didn’t mean he trusted Chris any more however, even if it didn’t put the being backwards either. At most it planted an idea in Robin’s head, one that he would mull over while Chris told his story, and answered the questions they posed. Maybe, just maybe if there weren’t any major red flags, Robin would present the idea to the others, and to the being who had fled his world to another in pursuit of being able to do something good, just like them. “Aram has a point,” Although Chris had mentioned something about the maker of the gate being killed earlier, that didn’t mean there weren’t others. “How about you start from the top, and tell us what happened?” Most of that could take place in the main garage, Robin mentally trying to remember where everything was so that they could get a kind of sitting arrangement set up since he rather doubted that Chris would willingly go into the cramped computer room that had been the earlier meeting place.

Kage must be another name, along with Aram who Chris gave a nod to upon the introduction. The small bit of inclination however, whispered away as the question was posed by the same man. For a moment Chris considered him, searching. “It is the nature of things to move forward. Eventually, inevitably, there will be another who understands how, who has the vision required to even begin to view how the worlds come together into an overlapping map. In fact I have no doubt that others, from other realities have done exactly that. From my home however…it will be some time. As stated, the Akanuki who led the project is dead, and the Kiyote under too young to even begin to comprehend, also dead, or scattered beyond reach.”

The wings drew in slightly tighter, the cold confidence cracking just enough to show that there was grief for what was said. “My former home is said to be peaceful. Certainly there is no war, or was not until the first prototype went up in flame. It is not a kind place however, not among the upper classes. The Akanuki and Kiyote try to stay out, to look only at their research and the will to ever move forward. They require supplies however, so we could not be cut off and free of power and politic. There are also many who are not confident in a single body of leadership for all. The leader who spoke of uniting the still leery bloodlines wanted to do so by waging war on another race, all of our kind against another who was misusing their land. Many thought that the Akanuki supported this idea, and followed because of that, because the noble supported the building of the gate. It was not until it was a reality that the truth was found out. Even then it was hushed with blood quickly. One of the Kiyote had been able to see the tears, to map them. They were able to see the way the realities laid over each other and laid plans to harness it. To acquire building supplies and funds, the Akanuki presented it to the noble, who gave quickly, and then began to speak of war. When the Akanuki tried to pull back, the youngest of their Kiyote were taken. When the Akanuki argued again, the Kiyote were stripped of wings.” Chris’s own wings twitched slightly, having been slowly drawing in tighter and tighter, until they were near painfully pressed onto the back. “The gate was built, and the Akanuki threatened to reveal the blood price. The Akanuki was silenced.”

Chris took a slight shuttering breath, the wings forced to unfurl enough that they looked like they were almost held normal. “The eldest Kiyote said no, so they were slain, the rest shared a close enough bond to know the danger and scatter. It was turned into rhetoric, and the Kiyote were hunted down by their own bloodlines. Some turned against, taking the warriors route and dying in the flame of their belief as the research facilities burned. As a maneuverable and fast flier I was tasked with the harder accomplishment of attacking the gate directly for the Akanuki and the remaining Kiyote. I was surprised that it ended in a chase, and the fortunate destruction of the second prototype, landing me here. I rather assumed it would be a multiple volley.”

Will for once was silent, letting his weapon and shield melt away into vapor again. As he was hearing this story he actually began to feel perhaps his intimidation tactics and attempts to unnerve should cease for a bit. He was trying to understand what Chris was talking about, painting a picture in his head. He got tripped up over names on occasion but at it's root (from what he understood), Group A invented something group B didn't like, so Group A tried to destroy it, starting killing people so here was Mr. Angel pants who was really fast and was able to bring whatever that invention was which was in Pandora's box. Accurate, right?

War and turmoil often bore scars into the minds of his victims, so he'd stop trying to torment him even more. He was an asshole sometimes, but Will wasn't an asshole for no reason at all.

Will slinks off into the kitchen, looking around and finding some teabags. Someone apparently knew he was coming, lavender and camamile teabags. He puts on some water to heat up and waits, continuing to listen.

Even after Karif had finished the explanation, Robin was silent. He had expected some account of a super villain, or stolen technology, or maybe even an out and out fight. Instead they were given a brief overview of what was no doubt a long drawn political mess and threatened to devour souls no matter which way those involved went. It was the kind of turmoil that left minds broken, Robin looking over the being in front of him again. By the description, their society had different classes, but was under a single government more or less, or certainly it would be shortly. No doubt they had labeled Chris as a traitor to their race, Robin briefly considering if that was what the title Chris had mentioned meant. Not the Kiyote one, that seemed to be something of a respected scholar or researcher maybe, but the title it was changed to, Weiltor.

Drawing in a breath, Robin straightened. “Well. It sounds like you risked life and limb to try and do the right thing and save lives, even though you had no idea who they would be or anything about them.” It could have been literally thousands of different possibilities, ones that as far as any of them were aware existed as themselves or were so far from reality as to be unimaginable. “Around here that’s called being a good guy, a hero.” Giving a brief tuck to make sure that his glove was in place, he extended a hand towards Chris. “You are welcome to stay here tonight. It’s probably safer than out where the guards are still trying to hunt you down. Then, maybe in the morning we can figure out what you want to do.” So far Chris hadn’t seemed that worried about getting back, just that he received his belongings back. Granted, he may very well not have anything to go back to. It sounded like it was a very considered possibility that in destroying the gate, he would lose his own life. Robin wasn’t going to get too hopeful that fate had dropped the angel right into the team just as it was forming though. They didn’t have all the details, and as it was, who knew if Chris even wanted to keep fighting. It didn’t sound that intentional in the first place.

The one who had held the ice slinking off didn’t go unnoticed, although Chris hadn’t looked away from the lead of the group. Really the confined space wasn’t okay, the floor under him, walls, and even ceiling made of the same drab colored stone that looked perfect enough to have been laid out by these beings. It wasn’t as bad though. Here the ceiling was high enough that he would be able to defend himself with the short bursts of flight he preferred to use in fighting. There was also quite a few things piled up around that would make good points to either launch from, or to duck behind.

Robin called attention back to him, although really Chris did little more than just stare at the hand that was extended forward. It was a gesture that had appeared during the brief observation of people, although there seemed to be a number of responses that could be expected. Studying the leader’s face gained nothing either. Of the list of available examples there was still at least two options, one that involved grabbing the hand back, and one where they enveloped each other in their arms. Chris opted for sliding back, the wings spreading into the same kind of acknowledging gesture as earlier. Touch, of any kind, after all wasn’t really a normal thing. “I would much rather my things returned.” The wings made a soft whispering sound as they refolded, although in general the stance was looser. Chris also seemed to catch after a moment that the offer might not be an idle thing. Their head tilted slightly, enough for the hair to slide off to one side. “Not that I do not thank you for the concern about the guards. Now that they have lost me it is of little worry.” For a moment the eyes seemed to catch the light, glinting with satisfaction. “They are not near as capable of tracking me, as I am of tracking them.”

Kage getting the massage on her communicator rose a brow under her mask but left it be as she knew Robin wouldn't give out false information with out check or even confirming it first. As she set the box down on the table she felt they where close and entered the shadows and appeared behind Chris unintentionally and said "thanks for the massage bird boy that may have ended badly had I managed to get it opened and how is this and........why do I feel as if I should know them" she said muttering the last past the herself more then saying it to the others as she studied Chris and even looked at his wings closely but never moving from her spot "those wing patterns they look so familiar to me but I can't think of why" as she muttered this she looked at Chris's face her mask turning into a scowl showing her frustration with this situation

What Chris had just told them was pretty morbid, but Aram imagined that it wasn't very rare for things like that to happen. Even on Earth, it wasn't anything special. It was just political disagreements which resulted with another group being slaughtered. While things aren't as straightforward as that on Earth, it still boiled down to the same core. As Robin and Chris talked to each other with the former asking more questions, Aram found himself slinking off to the kitchen. Will had already been there, brewing his own cup of tea. "Hey." He greeted before preparing more cups, enough for every singly one of them aside from Will since he already had one, and then placed them on a tray. He then prepared another kettle, taking out a tea bag for Chamomile and then started to mix it with the hot water that he prepared. Since Will had been brewing one only for himself, Aram thought that he should probably prepare another one just in case the other guy didn't want to share.

The blond male walked out of the kitchen carrying the tray of tea as Robin offered Chris to stay for the night and the latter didn't take up the offer. "Well, it's only for tonight so you actually have a roof above your head so you can sleep properly." He reasoned. He then placed the tray on one of the small tables before pouring the liquid into each of the cups. "It would be hard to find someplace like that here without you having money in this world." He continued.

Once he was done pouring, he then took a sip from his own cup and a small smile crept up to his face. Ah, he always liked these. "So, get your tea here guys. Freshly brewed and still pretty hot."

Chris didn’t exactly jump at the entrance of another. Actually, there wasn’t a lot of reaction at all beyond the wings shifting far enough that the being could look back, locking the amber gaze on the newcomer. Bird…boy? The first part translated just fine, the second was one of those words that Chris had heard come up in snippits of conversation. Some kind of title, or grouping although the being had yet to figure out much beyond that. It…probably wouldn’t matter anyway. The rest of the commentary was the slightly more important part. The amber gaze fell to the wings as they opened just enough to reveal the black on dark grey pattern that scrolled across the inner feathers like smoke. They weren’t exactly like the set that Chris had fallen through the portal through the worlds with, but it was close enough to be mistaken, even assuming that it had been calm enough at any point. The thought that such details would have been missed completely crossed Chris’s mind, the being looking up at the newcomer once again. Maybe they commented as such because they hadn’t realized yet. “I fell through the tear first. Followed by guards who would have black and grey wings.” Chris hadn’t been paying that much attention, so it was just assumed that they were in uniform, and would probably remain that way. The guards after all, trained to have the same wing patterns, uninfluenced by emotion. “Otherwise, we have never met before.” Certainly Chris had never seen or even really heard of a being like the one presented, although it was acknowledged that there was countless races and nothing was impossible to exist.

Whatever the similarity or whatever the being was trying to scowl about, Chris turned attention to Aram. Tea, now that was something that Chris most certainly knew, the wings making a quiet sound as they unfolded enough to move with the inclination of the shoulders in more of a habitual gesture of acknowledgement, perhaps thankfulness. They settled easily back, even as Chris reached up. It occurred to them only after the pop of the clasp releasing that it might not have occurred to the group that the mask wasn’t their actual features. It was a ludicrous idea knowing the smooth skin that lay under that were so similar to the humans…or at least human similar. Not having seen under however… The mask covered from the bridge of the nose, curving under the eyes along the natural flow of the face and up across the cheekbones. Vaguely shaped after a beak even down to the change in texture from faintly skinlike grey black to a near half gloss as it flowed off the nose, the thing was perfectly fitted to Chris, and moved with enough ease that the being could actually sometimes forget that it was in place. Clicking a tongue against the back of teeth, Chris removed the piece fully, pulling it to the side to ensure no hair had caught in the straps that would hold it in place during any kind of movement. “It is the ‘roof above your head’ that is exactly the problem.” Folding the mask away carefully, Chris reached for one of the offered cups.

For a moment the being just paused, breathing in the scent with eyes half closed. It was different, as expected, but the general gist seemed to be the same and a slight taste proved that it was delightfully warm, to the point that the idle though that these being might have just as wide of a range tolerance crossed Chris’s mind. Most wingless that Chris had ever dealt with didn’t, so it would be a nice change. The gaze settled on the one who had brought the tea, a faint smile showing at the corner of the lips. “I could never rest underground like this.” Especially given that this area seemed to be for storage or something. What doors Chris could see were wide enough to fit the wings through but caused a shutter just thinking about how tight the space behind must be, forcing Chris ever further into the depths of the earth. “The skeleton building above would be fine, if it does not continuously set off an alarm.” The gaze cast to the tea again, the wings drawing tighter. “I…would also appreciate food.”

Kage appearing so casually was a relief to Robin, proving that the other had listened although it did appear the box had bene left elsewhere. Not a big deal, Robin would just go get it in a few, along with Chris’s other things. He would just do that…later, since Chris seemed to actually be relaxing faintly. At the very least he was talking easily, and revealing things that Robin never would have even considered.

He looked up, considering the building around them. He could see somewhat where it would be uncomfortable for someone like Chris to be underground. “I’ll adjust it to not react to you for tonight.” The idea that he may get to leave it as a permanent adjustment still nagged at the back of his mind, but Robin could be patient. Plus, there was other things that were of more interest. “We can definitely order food, since I’m sure everyone would like something and then maybe you could tell us more about why you’re so confident in your ability to track two people through a city.” Even if the two people admittedly had wings. It was still a massive amount of ground to cover. To that effect he stepped back slightly. “In a few though. I’ll go put in an order for…pizza? Or Chinese? Then you guys can talk about whatever. Tonight was supposed to be about getting to know each other anyway.”

Will had just finished pouring two cups of tea before turning to realize that job had been taken. He bites his own lip for a moment before leaving one on the counter and pulling what looked like an eyedropper out of his back pocket. Will often carried around a few concoctions around, the vast majority of which were highly illegal. Then again if it was for personal use, who gave a shit? He drips about 5 drops of an odd yellow liquid in his own tea and sneaks it back into his back pocket. Will knew he was pretty high strung, overly intense and often made socializing hell, so cannabis juice, lavender and chamomile tea would really take the tensity off him and make him manageable. No, Will wasn't drugging himself into a mind-numbed state, just taking the edge off himself.

Food did sound nice though. "I'm kind of craving rice." He replies, the first sane thing he'd said all day. He sits on the couch, muscles and stance finally relaxing the more he drank. He then actually smiled, a rare sight that only happened when he wasn't entirely sober. Will was actually rather intrigued at the whole tracking people thing. He could track to an extent but he was certain flying would make that rather difficult.

For a moment Chris just stood, staring at the group as the dynamics shifted. There had been hints of it earlier but it seemed like at least three of the group, the two that had honestly been the most worrying via status and open weaponry and the one who brought tea, let down their guard. Had Chris done something, passed some test unwittingly that now made them an ally? The amber gaze cast down at the tea, considering it. Was that the marker? Maybe. Tea was generally a very social thing on Chris’s home.

Curling fingers around the warm cup, Chris let the thought slide away. There would be time for such considerations later. For now it appeared the knowledge seeking was not yet at an end. There seemed little harm in revealing the method of tracking however. Given their sensors they might well have something similar, or be capable of using something similar. There was just the flaw of what the readings earlier had said. “I have a mapping device that has been modified to read not only structural vibrations, but atomic. Because each world is different, the vibration is different. The farther separation the more distinct.” The wings shifted slightly, the gaze casting over the group again. It was…more than distinctly possible that at least one of them was from a different realm, or they had some very odd classes and mutations here that were rare enough to have not been around during the earlier scouting. It didn’t mean that people across realms were welcome however, nor would Chris feel right outing anyone. “It could be revealed, but it would be unkind to any others who have come from cross worlds. Even a single sidestep would cause enough distortion to show.”

Lucky

"Hey, I like tea."

After helping herself to a cup, the pink-haired girl listened to the conversation and sipped occasionally as her mind turned over the facts. The truth was, interdimensional hopping shouldn't seem that weird given her own circumstances. Hadn't she come here for a fresh start, a chance to do things differently, better than she had before? A chance for a different outcome?

With a wistful sigh, she finished her cup and said "I vote for pizza. But Chinese is good, whatever. Fried rice with orange chicken for me!"

Lucky folded herself into a couch and glanced around the room. "So, who else is a refugee?"

After dropping that question, she followed up by saying "I am. This might be news for you, Speedy, but you're not the only boy who isn't from around here. The way I hear it, portals have been opening up here. No one knows why. The Justice League's trying to solve it but in the meantime, you got all kinds of people from another world going about their business before, bam." She emphasized the point by slamming a fist into an open palm. "They feel a tingle but don't even notice what's happened until they go home and find someone else living there."

"Or in my case, spotting a newspaper headline featuring someone who's dead in my reality."

Lucky stretched her arms behind her, flexing her back a moment before yawning. "All in all, I can't say I mind it. Things weren't going well where I was. I'm not sure things are going great here but at least I can help keep them from going the way they did for me before. That's why I'm here, why I signed up with Boy Wonder and came to hero it up with all of you."

"Oh yeah. And because I'm still owed a communicator!"

Kage growled in anger as she tried to think of how she knew the man but came up with a black causing her to grab a book and walk of as she flipped through the pages she came across a picture of her and her brother whom looked a lot like Chris only his hair was more of a blond with silver eyes and his wings which where wrapped around kage hiding her mostly from view where more black on gray then gray on black and to anyone else kage looked to not have her mask on at all showing the same silver eyes with golden flecks in them that her twin

Robin noticed the look that flashed across Chris’s face, and his consideration of the tea although there wasn’t a comment by either party. Mainly Robin just let himself relax further. Chris had apparently accepted that things were calm for the moment and that he was safe enough. That Will and Lucky just settled into the room like it was a given that Chris was going to be another member of the team were likely to just drive the point home even farther, even if Will was being just a little too relaxed. Robin glanced back to give him a look, having been told before about Will’s…habits.

Whatever thoughts however, were interrupted by Chris speaking up about how he was able to track. Robin’s gaze snapped around, staring at Chris. How impressive was the tech from where this being came from? Actually…he supposed being able to survey and map an area wasn’t that impressive next to building a working interdimensional gate. Which actually he would have to tell the Justice League and other Robin about…eventually. It was probably better to get a solid idea of just how much Chris knew about the gate before getting everyone involved. Chris did a pretty good job of the dramatic drop from the sky but still, he looked to be in his later teens, early twenties at best. Up against heroes who had been doing the hero thing and intimidation thing forever, Robin couldn’t say that Chris wouldn’t flit away. Shaking away the thoughts, Robin focused on what Chris was saying. Chris could track the other’s of his kind…because of the vibration of the atoms? Running over the idea, Robin realized the sense in that. Different realities would have a different frequency, and at least for a while that frequency would remain in whatever was moved across. It would be interesting to test the accuracy of it to, since Robin’s tracker should still be in place.

That Chris was worried about accidently revealing someone who was hiding only secured further in Robin’s mind that this guy had pretty decent morals, even if Lucky was quick to reassure him. Robin would have too except he got distracted by what Lucky was saying. He hadn’t had the chance to ask her about what reality she had come from yet, although that was still very much a conversation he wanted to have. All in all though, from her story it sounded like the crossing wasn’t near as intentional as Robin’s even if it was from a similar world. One eyebrow raised at her outburst, Robin crossing his arms. “I handed them out earlier. If you didn’t remember to grab it, that is your problem and you’ll just have to find the box again.”

Actually, that might not be a true statement. Robin wanted to get Chris set up with a communicator too. He also had to reset the sensors so they didn’t react to Chris, and he should order food. Will had voted Chinese, Chris…kinda unsurprisingly…hadn’t voted at all, Lucky preferred pizza but had actually specified what to order form Chinese, and Kage appeared to be walking away. For a moment Robin just stared at the retreating back, rather vividly reminded of Raven before he shook his head. He started for the back room. “Actually, nevermind, I’ll get it when I order Chinese. In the meantime just…do whatever.” His hand waved towards the room in general. “And Chris, don’t worry too much about outing anyone. I’m from a different reality as well, and we are trying to let it be publicly known that anyone who has crossed can come to us for help.”

The others were quick to speak up about being from other worlds not being a problem. Even knowing that it was likely the blatant openness of it was surprising. The wings flicked, just enough for the primaries to flutter and refold before Chris let the amber gold gaze settle on Lucky, staring at her with something of the same intense concentration one had when trying to figure a puzzle out during the speech. When she finished there was a tilt to the head. “By far, the translator has the most trouble with you. ‘Refugee’, ‘Speedy’, ‘boy’, ‘bam’, ‘newspaper headline’, ‘Boy Wonder’, ‘hero it’, ‘communicator’, and those are words. Much of the context I am sure is lost.” Shaking head enough to resettle the hair, Chris let the amber gold gaze travel over the couch. “I think I gather the idea though.”

Robin announcing that he would be leaving caught Chris’s attention, the wings drawing in. “Please remember my things.” Likely they were farther into the underground, which appeared to be where Robin was heading. Hopefully Chris had earned enough of their trust and confidence that they really would be returned. Once the black haired one had disappeared, Chris returned to examining the couch. Sitting with the wings in full display was somewhat inconvenient. It could be done certainly, and even comfortable but that would involve taking up an entire section of the couch. Plus, not knowing the customs and preferred spacing might be an issue. By how they were already settling in, Chris was going to assume it was more than among their race. Chris supposed the issue could be solved by just dismissing the wings, but that was not an overly appealing idea either. If nothing else, it would raise a whole slew of questions on subjects Chris would rather not deal with for now.

Spreading wings out to a half flare, Chris knelt. The position might be odd to the others, with weight rolled onto the balls of the feet and ankles completely off the ground. It was a position that Chris could launch from, also effective for perching on narrow surfaces. On a solid ground like this though, it left the wings laying around Chris, the feathers brushing the cool floor. Not an unpleasant sensation actually, so long as no one stepped on the feathers. It did further emphasize the deep red on the primaries though, making it look like they had been dipped in something unpleasant. Drawing the slim tech from earlier from the side of the boot, Chris let fingers dance over it. The gaze was faintly bored though, and not really that dedicated even as colors flashed along the length. “Will you explain some of those words? Or what is trying to be accomplished or meant with trying to solve the portal problem. I can listen…maybe, and calibrate the map together. Underground is not a default consideration.” Pausing, Chris considered the tech without really seeing it. “It would also be fascinating to know more of the feeling traveling from such close realities. This world is nothing similar to my own, so it is unlikely that any of my kind would have a mirror enough to be mistaken among yours.” Although further out realities those numbers went up.

"Just order me anything, it's fine." Aram replied to Robin. Seriously, any food is good food considering his past. It seems everything was going well. Turning his attention to the trash, he began collecting everything and stuffing them in a garbage bag. For a guy with such small stature, he sure seems that he can handle the amount of trash that has piled up. He kept listening, but he was sure that Robin and Lucky had it all under control. They then spoke about being from other dimensions. Aram couldn't help but chuckle at this, which was sure to gather some attention.

"So, three from other realities and three from this one huh? What a team." He then looked unsurely at Will and Kage. "Unless either of you two are from other dimensions..." Aram was pretty confident that he was from here, or at least, from this reality. If he was some sort of alien, he didn't know that either. Okay, he should really stop thinking about things that might not even be real. Aram shook his head and then went back to collecting trash so that when they eat later, it wouldn't be a hindrance. Once he was done, he tied it up. "I'm bringing this up top." He said before carrying the trash bag away.

The blond male now understood why there was a Robin here when he last heard that they were based in another city. It was because there was two of them now. He wondered what would happen if someone else found out. What if Batman caught wind of this? Well, he was pretty sure that original Robin would report it someday. It was great that there were two now since that meant there could be more Teen Titans, or something like that. Though, he didn't know about Lucky. He doesn't know any heroes going by that name. There probably was, but as far as he knew, she didn't exist. He then dumped the garbage bag on the temporary garbage bin near the construction site. Hopefully, the truck would actually make rounds around here even while the Tower was still under constructions.

He dusted off his gloved hands before heading back to the Tower. He then simply sat down on one of the stools there, removed his gloves and went back to drinking his tea whilst listening to both Lucky and Chris.

Kage looked up at will "you can forget me being from this reality and what are you- never mind" she said cutting herself off as she went to a more secluded area to be by herself and not be afraid to take her mask off showing what had become of her face and torso. As she took her mask, jacket, and shirt off showing scars upon scars one of which looking as if she had, had a Vivi section at one point and her left eye being pure black with a red dot for a pupil, and her right eye being pure white with a blur dot for a pupil.

With her mask off she couldn't see like everyone else.......she saw a different way an odd and forbidden way.

Will was happy. Like legitimately happy. He had his tea, he was content, he was getting his rice, all he needed now was reruns of Grey's Anatomy. He was kind of zoned out and in such a dulled state he seemed legitimately nice, as if he was like that under all the callous. He had a sweet flush to his cheeks, perhaps that was from the beaming smile he now wore. He didn't know Robin knew of his 'issues' but he thought of it as acceptable when faced with the alternative. Robin could either have a slightly drugged will and have him happy, or he could have him sober and high-strung, his choice.

"No different reality here." Will chimes, his lower voice falling rather quiet as he then realized he couldn't really see for shit. He dug around in his hoodie pocket, opting to wear his glasses so he might actually be able to see things that are 10 feet in front of him. The lenses immediately fogged from the tea-steam, but he didn't even move to wipe them. He just let them fog and continued to sip.

Under normal circumstances, merely sitting on a couch by him would cause will to jump out of his skin, but he merely tensed for a moment instead and calmed. "Just from Metropolis." He sips again, eyes raising as Kage seemed to be about to ask something but... she walked off. Okay. Back into his own mind, it was like la-la-land in there right now.

The exact words faded off although Robin did get the indistinct voices as he moved back to the computer room. The screen was still pulled up to display a map of the city, a glowing beacon marking where his tracker was farther off. Shaking off the temptation to recalibrate the sensors to see if he even could track by vibrations, Robin settled in to order first. That was the part that would take the most time. Considering the group, and the general lack of specific requests beyond Lucky’s, Robin went with more or less the catering menu that could be laid out and provided quite the variety. That would admittedly take longer but they had six teens to feed with at least one in question of how long it had been since they ate anything reasonable. Robin paused, his gaze on the doorway where he could faintly hear Chris’s voice. From the account Chris gave, whatever group he was with had been under a massive amount of stress, and then had been labeled outright traitors that were forced to run for their lives. How long had it been since Chris ate anything more than whatever could be scavenged up? How long since he had slept without having to be worried about being found. Just thinking about it kind of made Robin want to insist on Chris staying nice and sheltered inside, except the blatant discomfort with being underground.

Robin settled for sending a message to Cyborg, asking if he could shift things around a little to get some kind of at least shell on the tower. The message wouldn’t be checked until the morning likely, but that was fine. If there wasn’t a response, Robin would just take it up when the titan showed up in the morning to make more record setting progress on the structure that had only been going up for a few days. Then it was on to changing the sensors. Chris was thankfully in full view of the inside cameras, allowing them to pick up on whatever details they needed to ensure that he wasn’t going to set off anything even if he left and came back without any worry about not catching the others showing up. While the system updated, Robin stepped back, slipping all of the things scattered across the table back into the leather bag that Chris had dropped. The box went last, Robin turning it over in his hands before rather hesitantly putting it away.
