Static seemed to crackle through the air of the city below. Nothing too bad, nor more impressive than what one would feel during the average thunderstorm, except that there was no visible cause. At least not in the breath of time it took between the static and the crack of sound that echoed like an explosion. Light split across the sky, arching and tearing through the sky like a streak of red and yellow lightning that didn’t fade. Instead the distortion split further, spreading outward. Maybe the length of an airliner in total it twisted like a living thing, contained there somehow even as it spread to try and engulf the area, the red collapsing on itself to show yellow and some kind of shimmering distorted sky beyond that did not match at all what it should have been.

Robin has expected some confusion about how he could be Robin, while there was still a Robin in Jump City. To be accused of being some kind dressed up for pretend however had never crossed his mind. He was still trying to get over the wide eyed shock when she turned and high tailed it. For a moment the boy wonder just taped after her, not even completely sure how to go about convincing her. Especially since with her accusations the others might question.

The issue went straight to the back of his mind when the sky split. His gaze jerked up, for a very brief moment fear crossing it. It couldn't happen again. At least this time there wasn't a hail of fire. The staff slid out as he braced for whatever would come out as he dipped into old habits. "Titans! Go!"

Aram stared blankly at the interactions happening around him. There were so many people. Other people arrived - people who wanted to join the team as well. Except that big whale shark lady. He wasn't sure what to make of that. She kept telling them to cut it out and that this was just one big costume party. She's one to say that - she's really the only one who really looks different. It's like she couldn't wrap her heads around the fact that they were here to be part of the new Teen Titans and that they had powers themselves.

There was also the matter of that girl and that guy and there was a healer and he was just confused. At least Aram knew that they had a healer... and that the pink haired girl's name was Lucky - at least he didn't have to refer to her as 'that pink haired girl' anymore - and the masked magician was named Eclipse. He turned back to the Orca. Finding that she wouldn't really stop making them leave, he knew any retaliation would end in vain. "Um, Miss Orca lady? I'm an independent hero as of a year ago and... I don't have a family so... yeah."

The blond haired male felt his hair stand on end, as if there was a thunderstorm happening around him... but there wasn't. He turned his head upwards while the others were talking. The sky split - a kaleidoscope of colors mixing and moving together giving the sight of the rift actually being a living thing. He heard Robin issue a command and he readied himself - taking his collapsed bow and extended it before placing an arrow on the string... but there wasn't any target to shoot at. Not yet at least.

Lucky

The chick with the glass in her back seems weird. So does the guy who fixes her, for that matter. Healer types tend to be touchy feely after all but Lucky has the distinct impression that dude, not so much.

And the Orca girl, what on earth is her deal? Besides, you know, a figure to make any girl envious and relieved at the same time. The dismissal doesn't go over well. So she pipes up and says "I know it's real, I know it's not a game, I spent years studying and training to do this. And I don't have a curfew, parents to care and you really think I should be doing a canned food drive when I can do this?"

With a casual wave upwards, Lucky sends waves of coruscating pink energy into the sky.

...at which point the sky cracks open with deafening thunder, followed by that red light deepening into a yellow distortion in space hanging above the construction site.

"I am bad luck, why do I always forget that?" she mutters under her breath.

Robin's order snaps out and jogs half-formed reflexes into action. She flips again, landing near his side, both hands raised to the sky. Ready to unleash her devastating Jinx-bolts at the first visible target.

Whispering loud enough for anyone to hear, Lucky hisses to Robin, "I get my own communicator this time."

Kage looked up at the sky standing up straight as she tilted her head her mask becoming a frowny face as she was quite concern by the large worm whole forming "not the weirdest thing I have seen but it could probably top it at some point" she muttered as her shadow ingulfed her body and made her disappear into the shadows as she shot towards robins shadow and waited to see if it was a threat and to see if she was able to do anything about it

"So you're telling me, instead of trying to find a family hell maybe going to child protection services. You've been heroing for a year? Hell even more" Alice rubbed her forehead, this was really putting her in a tight spot. Not only was she lost in a part of town unfamiliar to her but these kids had ideas way out of their league to her knowledge they were just a group of misfits in costumes. Maybe they were like her, only not physically deformed but mentally two of them didn't have families maybe they all didn't no wonder they're out so late, she knew she should have taken that cognitive neuroscience class in freshmen year of college. She was, however, a summer camp counselor through out her final two years of high school and freshmen year of college, if she can take care of a group of hyper seven year olds she can take on this group, well in theory anyway.

"Well listen, kid, I-" As she spoke she was then cut off by Rich and the sudden pink curve of energy towards the sky. Her heartbeat rapidly as she had a flashback, nine months ago. Before she could fully be considered useless Alice shook her head. "No if I do nothing I'll like the back of an air conditioner." the tall woman said before getting ready for anything to come out or something to change.

The twisting, coiling distortion never really paused or stabilized. Maybe it didn’t have the chance to, before something fell through it, hurling through the air with enough force to suggest that it had reached terminal speed on the other side. Humanoid, maybe. With wings of deep steel grey that seemed to absorb the light coming from the distortion streaming off to either side, back to the ground below and pale hair streaming across the facial features.

Two more forms emerged in the few heartbeats that passed, these more easily defined as humanoids with wings. Great canvases of grey so dark it neared black snapped, carrying the pair that were donned in what looked like armor, something akin to a Kevlar or leather vest that left their arms free and faces covered by the nearly roman looking helmets. Both carried weapons, the length of the forearm and ranged given the red bolts that arched towards the first.

Not that the first was paying a lot of attention. Instead their focus was on throwing something, the dark object passing back up through the distortion. Then they turned, twisting through the air until the freefall was a true dive. Wings tucked in close to the back, revealing that the first wore a lighter version of the armor, along with bracers and a mask that covered essentially the entire face from below the eyes. Above the chase the distortion shivered, and then a secondary explosion came, blue light arching outward in a shockwave, four concussions suggesting secondary devices going off. Night sky was left in the wake, no hint of the tear in reality.

Against the blast from above the snap of wings opening seemed mute, although the effect was immediate, the first being rolling their speed from the dive into a linear motion, some object that they were holding tossed off to the side during the roll. It hit a mound of sand farther into the construction site, the leather bag sliding down to rest on the ground even as the trio swept overhead, the bolts of red turning where they hit into little more than charred rubble. That they were failing to hit the first might have been a suggestion to their lack of skill, except for the flicker of feathers, the blasts missing the first by hairs as they wove.

Closer to the group, close enough that they would be able to see the rust red coloration arching through the flight feathers despite the gloom, the first spread their wings and snapped upward. A near perfect 90 degree turn that cleared them of the blasts, leaving the pair of pursuers to sweep around into wide turns as they beat their wings, trying to rise although the first was apparently already out of range.

A flash of guilt went through Robin at Lucky’s words. In his reality he hadn’t given Jinx a communicator, despite her being at the edge of the titans. Would anything have turned out differently if he had? He didn’t even know what had happened to her in his reality. “Done.” The guilt would be saved for later. This version was going to be part of the team, and anyone part of the team got a communicator.

The relief that swept through Robin at the portal closing with only three coming through was swept under the rush of adrenaline and the fight right then and now. Not that he wasn’t taking note of the apparent fight going on between the three, or rather, the chase going on as the first seemed more inclined to get away. He wasn’t going to just assume the blonde was the innocent however, the others did look like they were guards, or military, or something like that. “Anyone with ranged, aim for the wings, take all three out of the sky at least temporarily. Someone ground, see if you can get whatever got dropped.” He didn’t know the abilities of those that had gathered, so he would go with general for now. “If someone can fly, or do magic, keep them contained.” The trio might or might not care about involving others but by the destruction already evident on the ground and the pillars of the construction site those blasters were not friendly to anything they so much as clipped. “Get them down if you can, keep them down until we figure out what’s going on.”

The lead was flying straight for them, Robin sweeping his staff back, moving his cape out of the way with a practiced motion as his free hand reached for his belt. Then the blonde snapped upward, the maneuver apparently sudden enough that the followers couldn’t copy it, or it was a skill that they couldn’t use since they banked around. Robin would find out later, focusing right now on drawing out the compacted bola. It flung out, expanding so that when it hit where one of the guards was about to be it would hit low to the wing, ideally tangling.

Today was much longer than Angel had anticipated. It was like that though when you were tailing a drug kingpin that preferred to do his dealings outdoors rather than inside like normal people. But today his hard work was getting ready to pay off as it was time to take this piece of filth off of the streets. He knew he should have called in for Black Canary for backup since she's the one that freed him from Ra's but that wasn't his style anymore. While he sat there at the edge of the building he pulled a smoke pellet out of his belt. With one closed eye to increase his accuracy he launched at the feet of the drug lord he followed right behind it.

Angel leaped from the edge of the building landing right in the middle of the smoke. As he stood to his feet the man's protection started to close in around him. Not wanting to be outnumbered for long he wanted to take them down one by one. First he slammed the butt of his sword in the back of the first guy kidney causing him to fall forward in pain. Turning on his heels he brought his shield down, with quick detach from his back, to the ankle of the next thug pulling backwards causing him to fall flat on his face.

Two down he thought to himself and that had only left the person in charge. Angel was a second too slow as he heard a click behind his head.

"Stand on your feet punk." Not saying a word he turned to face the man that he was about to take down. Even though he was not faster than a bullet; he certainly had the speed necessary to take this guy down. "Now, tell me who you are before I shoot you right here in the freaking head!"

"Well I'm the Archangel and you are going to jail." With those final words he dropped his arms about to finish this, as Canary swooped from the ceiling and used her left palm, as swinging it upwards towards the left arm elbow that was holding the gun. He heard a sharp crack which made him grimace but he wanted watch her to teach this guy a lesson. Though she finished the guy off faster than he wanted with a strong right hook that sent him to the ground with a thud. Turning around the guy who he was meeting with had driven off.

"All in a days work..." he spake with a sigh as he stood up from the ground before he seen Black Canary walking towards him.

"What in the hell were you thinking!" she screamed at him. "Two seconds away from dying and you don't bother letting me know that you were going out to do something like this! We have plans! You have plans with this new team and your out here doing this!" she screamed at him like she was his actual mother. Of course in a way she was, one of the only women who treated him that way so he couldn't be mad at her, but she wasn't his mother and therefore he didn't have to listen to her. He was an adult, not a child, but he wouldn't buck up that much at her.

"Well what can I say! I had better things to do than deal with a bunch of children! I get what your going to say if I want to get Ra's I have to cooperate, I'm going to go now so don't worry about saying anything else." Angel said heading to make an quick exit before she decided to strangle him for being rude as he made his way to wherever he was supposed to be meeting this team.

Swerving in the Prowler until he reached the shell of a ginormous T, he stood outside for a good few minutes before deciding to make his way toward them. That was until the sky split. His gaze shot upward and decided his introduction could wait as he grabbed his sword and shield jumping into battle.

Whoever scratch that, whatever these things were, they were taking his shtick. He was the Archangel, and he was going to let the know it.

Mason felt a tightness pass through his chest as more people began to approach. He had never been that good with crowds, always arriving extremely early for classes or waiting until the hallways empty before venturing to the next. At first, his tardiness had been a problem with the teachers, but once the reason behind it was explained, they stopped caring. So when their group of three nearly doubled, Mason found himself taking a few steps away to distance himself. The tension quickly released as the young teen's attention was drawn to the male who placed his hand on the injured girl and healed her within seconds. Mason was intrigued then. All these people around him had strange abilities, just like him. Were they born with it or did they inherit it like Spiderman did after being bit by a spider? Was it possible that any of them were bit by a radioactive spider? Maybe that's how the kid got the power to heal. A radioactive healing spider?

Mason was brought out of his thoughts by a woman. Well, not just any woman. The figure in front of him seemed to be half-Orca? Had to be that. But that was impossible? Wasn't it? He assumed not, because here she stood, dressed in a swimsuit. Mason's startled expression quickly morphed into excitement as the Orca woman began to express her concerns about the group being out and about. "Woah!" He gasped, beaming up at the women who had to be, at the very least, two feet taller than Mason. The teen had tried and failed to contain his curiosity. "You look awesome!" He squeaked. "Were you born like this? Can you breathe underwater?" He bubbled. The teen's teen's expression faltered when he realized what he had actually been babbling about. "Uh," He mumbled sheepishly, crossing his arms over his chest. "I-I'm sorry. That was probably really rude of me."

Mason watched as Robin soon cut in, explaining the means for the assembly. To actually recruit for a new group of Teen Titans and.. and he could actually be one? Despite his powers not being as grand as the others? Not to mention the people around him would be his teammates, a sort of family type. If he didn't screw it up that is. He figured he had already offended Orca with his babbling. The need to apologize again soon forced its way onto his tongue. Mason, however, didn't get the chance to dwell on his actions as the hairs on his arm stood up. His eye's turned upwards when the sky suddenly lit up in shades of reds and yellows, seeming to drain the color from the life around the group. Then, Robin shouted out a command, labeling the group as "Titans." Had it been normal circumstances, the teen may have actually stopped to dork out about it. But considering the sky looked like it had ripped into two, the name slipped from his mind.

Mason felt a low panic form as he watched three figures emerge from the rip. The others around him pulled out weapons, seemingly ready to defend themselves physically if need. And of course, Mason had no such thing. He hadn't even considered that he'd manage to shadow travel here and now? Now he was going to engage in a battle without a weapon? Some 'hero' he was proving to be. Instead, the teen watched curiously as the first figure sharply rocketed upwards, the slower two lunging out in a wider pace to reach it. Then, Robin launched a weapon aiming for one of the slower two.
@ Kumari

Aram simply shrugged at the Orca lady when she couldn't believe that the fact that he was a hero for a year despite being young and did not go to an orphanage or something. He didn't feel the need to explain to her that whoever was taking care of him for fifteen years had specifically said not to go to the government. He never said why, it's just that. Aram trusted him completely so that's why he's never handed himself to the authorities. Whatever it was, it probably wasn't good.

He then turned his attention back at the rift where figures emerged. It was like a chase between the two and the singular one in front. Their wings looked like steel from what he could see. He drew his bow and a dark blue aura began enveloping it - he was coating it with his Dark Light. It made the arrow extra sturdier. Upon hearing Robin's command on getting them grounded, he began to aim. He isn't exactly looking to kill them here so he guessed that target he had to hit were the wings. This was difficult. It wasn't as big as their body. For a time, he couldn't get a clear enough shot. Aram clicked his tongue as he followed their movements.

The opportunity presented itself when the lead started heading towards them. He had managed to make a complete nintey degree turn and blasted himself upwards. The blonde masked male shook his head. Robin had thrown something to the other guard so he decided to take the other one on. He released his arrow and it shot forward - faster than normal - towards the guard, aiming to hit the wings. Even if it would just graze the wing, it would at least slow him down because of shock right? Right. He just had to believe in that.

Stunned by not only by the sight of wings but the why they looked, were they criminals? They had to be, they came from the ripple. And the last time she interacted with one she turned into....this. Watching as not only Robin getting ready to attack but Jinx shooting some type of pink construct in a crest moon like shape, her head turned as she ducked by the deafening sound of gun shots. Orca didn't see Raven and was surprised to see a masked figure shooting at one of the beings wings, wondering if it had any effect. Were these beings angels? Demons? Maybe she was a demon and they were god's angels to send her back to Satans rave party.

Then the boy, the blond she could have barely hear while she was making her speech. She liked him, in more of a curious way. While others looked mildly confused besides Robin and Lucky, Aram seemed more like a curious kid. Maybe she'll tell him about herself at a later date. Getting up before dusting herself off, "Damn gust of wind." She said not only to justify herself being in a pseudo-curled up stance but to make up some white lie.

Just as Alice thought she saw the end of it, a Hispanic man coming down from the woodwork charging in a hombre loco, "Crispy crap." She nearly yelled as not only did she rarely cursed and instead used her own little-coded language.

Kage growled as she moved her hands causing her shadow to move and create a spear like construct and flew into the air hitting on in the softer part of the wing on one of them causing them to spiral to the ground and kage rushed over to it intending on pinning it down, when she got there she had pinned it to the ground only for it to take off suddenly with her still having a hold of it "WHAT THE HELL" she cried out in shock as she found her self in the air suddenly only for her limbs to soon contort in impossible angels and hold her onto him and keeping her from falling soon she saw the arrow heading for the wing and grumbled to herself as her claws dug into the beings chest plate causing a horrible sound to ring throw the air "let's see how you handle a demon shall we kekeke"

The bola struck true, the weighted ends ensuring that for a split second the wings were bound together at the top of their flight. Then the feathers turned slightly, and the rope severed under the tips that were as sharp as any blade. Not that it was a completely worthless gesture. It did ensure that the guard swept into a turn, giving up on trying to catch the blonde who was building on an already impressive lead. The weapon he held turned on the group, the bolts of red aimed straight for the center of the group.

The other didn’t break stride when the first reared back, the steady beat of the wings only stuttering when an arrow clipped them. Really it was more surprise that the arrow had done damage at all rather than any kind of pain that caused the hesitation. As it turned out that was all it took, the spear striking through the armored feathers. The shout was strangled, wings jerking up and away from the pain just at the base where the appendages met back. Then the second guard was spiraling down. One hand reached for the spear, just as something landed on the back. The launch into the air was instinctive, and powerful enough to scatter any loose debris away from the point where the being had touched down. Then the beast on the guard’s back started to claw, the wings stuttering even as plates in the armor seemed to lift across the back on either side of the spine. The heavy fabric would protect well enough from most things, designed to go up against their own wings and weapons without a scratch. Wings spreading out the second guard reached to the side, tearing the spear free, red gold blood dripping from the wound for just a moment. The spear was flung away, more or less towards the group although aim wasn’t really a priority. Rather, the wings beating down was, carrying them higher and higher as plates on the back of the armor lifted, tendrils of almost silver black extending from beneath the armor. The flesh itself was soft, almost like suede although it was pure muscle beneath as the cords wrapped around the creature clawing at the guard, seeking to throw it off.

Not that the lead seemed to overly care about the group, or even the two guards now that they were distracted. Instead the blonde had reached a height that they determined was fine, which given that it would take a dedicated ground to air weapon to reach them was a pretty safe height. For a moment the being drew up, tilting backwards before they spun and leveled out in the complete opposite direction, reaching the opposite edge of the construction site within moments. Not that there was any intention of stopping, the being passing over Angel although they remained at a height where the features would have been a blur on a good day.

Well, it was good to know that several people did seem to have ranged attacks. Far more effective range attacks than his own too. The bola had snapped like it was nothing. What the hell were these guy’s wings made out of? Were they actually the metal that the coloration was similar to? Out of the corner of his eye he caught the shadow user rush at the one that the others had attacked, Robin shouting a wordless protest. His gut feeling about the mistake that was going to be proved correct too, as the being took off with the shadow user on their back, soaring upwards. He was going to guess that of the two only one could actually fly, making the fall deadly.

Then the one he had aimed at was on them. Robin snapped through the motions, glad to actually be able to fight again. Not a one sided fight against hundreds either. There was three, maybe only two since the lead seemed far more interested in running away. The birdarangs exploded as the met with the red bolts midair, Robin dodging out of the way just in case the guard’s weapon had more shots in it. “Lucky! Can you take out the gun? Mason!” That had been the boy’s name right? The one who had introduced himself and seemed slightly awestruck just before everyone showed up. “Get whatever the lead dropped!” Ideally doing that would also get the boy out of the main fight, since he seemed more awestruck than anything else, a dangerous thing to be.

He was fairly sure it wouldn’t be an explosive device. Certainly it had been dropped pretty impressively and hadn’t gone off. More likely it was whatever this whole chase was about. Either that or a weapon that they really wanted to get out of the reach of these three, the lead included since that had already proven that doubling back on a dime was well within their abilities. Robin was already moving the other way, making a line for the shell of the tower. He could get up the beams easily enough, putting him in range of the second guard and the shadow user. On his way he brushed Orca’s arm, not having caught her name yet and not really wanting to be insulting by calling her something she might not like. He pointed off, towards the pair. “Catch her if you can.” Then Robin was moving again, making for the building and leaping through the scaffolding.

Kage gave a grunt as the being tried to get her off with the tendrils as her claws dug in feather into the chest plate only for the being to take a sharp turn and head up wards at incredible speeds "screw my life" she muttered as she felt herself starting to slip and cry out in shock as she soon found herself falling "damn it" she yelled as she headed towards the ground fast only to stop a few feet from the ground her face inches from the dirt "thank you azarth" she said as she floated upwards and landed on the ground right side up "now what" she asked tilting her head in thought

Orca instead of protesting just nodded looking over at Robin, he might be young but he knew how to lead. Watching as the demonic woman was then caught by some weird shadowy scarf around her neck. Running over to her bending over "Hey are you alright?" Alice asked with a raised eyebrow looking Raven over for any visible injuries.

There wasn't much she could do besides catching anyone who fell, most of the debris besides the few heavier objects. Could she toss it? She could have easily lifted the truck, but she wouldn't want to do any unnecessary damage to any of the equipment.

Lucky

The flying people surprise Lucky. Surprise her enough that, despite Boy Wonder's commands, she's slow to act on his orders. Purplish-pink energy halos her hands in an instant of thought before flashing out into the sky. Most of her experience hurling Jinx-bolts is against land-based attackers, though, not fliers and certainly not fliers at range who weren't moving to engage.

Her first volley misses the pair of guards entirely. As does her second. Muttering, her third is thrown wide when the bola and the arrow respectively interrupt the flight paths of her targets and skew them off course. Drawing her hands together, Lucky radiates a Jinx shockwave towards the lead flier just as he suddenly shoots upwards. Missed again!

Then the winged guards are among them, engaging them head on. Fine with her! Lucky grins fiercely as as an enemy faces her on her terms, where she's used to fighting.

She flips backwards as a red bolt slams into the ground where she'd just been standing. More flips, a twirl and a pirouette dances her through the remainder. Her retaliation is swift and far more decisive. Explosive bad luck flashes out of her hand as she targets the guard's gun. If it hits, the energy seems to simultaneously dissemble and batter every component of the weapon, washing it in destructive waves of karma.

Lucky faces off with the first guard, face to face, evading attacks and exchanging Jinx-bolts and evidently having the time of her life judging by her wicked smile!

Winter looked at orca "fine thanks for the concern ma'am" she said to her as she sent another volley of shadow spears at the beings trying to bring on down as she took off into the air levitating and flying with skill after one of them a scary face seen on her mask

Alice nodded back looking around soon finding a stop sign, running over to it and taking it off from the concrete kicking the leftover bits off. "This won't hurt them too much, right? I'll just use the flat side." She muttered to herself before going to the battle. Most of it was ranged which wasn't in her taste as she had no way getting to them besides jumping which she might have, she did jump on top of a three story tall building.

Mason had to admit that he was a bit surprised when the bola had been disregarded by the winged warrior. At first, the weapon had appeared to have worked before the cord was severed and left to plummet to the ground. Though the weapon hadn't inflicted the damage it was intended too, Robin had succeeded in diverting the being's attention away from the head of the group, only to turn towards them. When the being opened fire, it felt instinctual for Mason to dodge out of the way. Throwing himself to the left, the teen rolled into a crouched position, hands pressed flatly against the soil. Ultimately surprised at the warmth he felt beneath his palms as if the ground was awakening at his touch. He refused to let that distract him. Mason had just enough time to glance upwards and watch as the shots were deflected by a different weapon Robin had thrown.

Adrenaline had already begun to sweep through the teen's senses when Robin suddenly called out his name. Nodding at the command, the teen's gaze turned towards where the item had dropped across the plot of land. The teen vowed to not fail at what was asked of him. Mason lifted himself from the position he had settled into and took off towards the pile of sand, just as a flicker of pink sparked in his peripheral vision. The others would be perfectly fine, he mused. Seeing as how they each exemplified in their own skills and reacted so quickly to orders, he had no doubts they would be able to form a team.

Mason dropped onto a knee, eyebrows drawing together as he realized the item the leader dropped was a backpack. Or, well, it was sort of like a backpack. Taking the leather material into his hands, the teen examined it. As far as he could tell, the bag had three compartments; the top had a flap pinned to the center, while the other two appeared to be draw-strings. Was this really what the pursuers were after? What could be so important inside that the leader wanted to keep it away from the other two? Was it really worth dying over? Mason shook his head, curiously running his fingertips over the metal pin that sealed the bag. Of course, he wanted to open the parchment, to examine the contents thoroughly. But he figured it wasn't the place or time to do so. Mason swung one of the straps over his shoulder. He wasn't so sure what was important, but he swore to protect it until he could get back to Robin and the others.

Aram clicked his tongue when his arrow did almost nothing, but the clawed female already took care of that one. He blinked, unbelieving at first, and then lowered his bow. Her power was amazing. That was so cool. He then turned quickly towards the red bolts heading for them. Panicked, small balls of dark light appeared around him and shot forward, exploding as it made contact. Aram let out a heavy breath. He wasn't used to making something like that. But now wasn't the time for getting tired. Taking aim at the guard who was attacking them, he released a volley of arrows towards him.

When Robin ordered Mason to go and get the backpack, Aram quickly said. "I'll go with him!" Mason was defenseless, aside from his little teleportation stunt but when he had heard Mason cheer when it worked, he guessed that it wouldn't work all the time. He then released yet another arrow before quickly following Mason. The others had that front covered. Now if someone were to attack Mason while he had the item, then that would be bad. As he ran, he felt the arrows on his quiver. He still had a lot of them, but he wasn't sure how quickly he'd be burning through them. If worst comes to worst, he'd have to form his own arrows and that was taxing. He saw the lead flier go forward, leaving them behind.

"You got it?" He asked as Mason dropped to the ground to get whatever it was. Aram was just there with his bow, looking over at the group to see if anyone was in need of help or if one of those fliers would head for them. He then saw Mason take a backpack and put it on. Aram stayed by his side, arrow already nocked onto the bow. The arrow became coated in dark blue energy once more before he took aim and then fired yet another arrow towards the injured flier - the one that the demon-like female attacked. He placed another arrow on his bow and looked at Mason, waiting for him to lead.

Looking at Lucky running over at her "Hello, so um.....what is your power? What are you shooting out your hands?" Alice asked in a friendly manner her eyes looking up at the metal like wings of the beings. Swinging the sign around pretending or at least looking like she was trying to do something listening in to what the pink haired girl hand to say.

The wave of bad luck hit true, the gun seeming to shimmer and warp in the guard’s hands. Then it was dissolving into splinters of metal and other materials. He dropped it rather than even try to keep hold of the technology and risk it spreading to flesh. Not that it left the guard unarmed. Instead he reached back, drawing a double edged sword from his back. As long as his spine the sword seemed to be one of those that could be either a single hand, or duel handed weapon. The deep toned metal was also apparently rather good at deflecting blows with it, the metal withstanding the waves of bad luck far better than the technology although the glancing blows did appear to have an effect on the armor, little snags and pops in the edges appearing. The guard didn’t appear interested in getting closer to the fight however, where the weapon was of more use. Instead he seemed to actually be drawing somewhat away, a sharp whistle coming from under the helmet.

It was answered by the currently higher second guard, who had brought his own weapon back to bare. Rather than seem even the least bit ruffled by the creature that had been attacking it and showed every indication of coming at it again, he just pointed and fired. The wings folded when he caught a flash of the one on the ground aiming at him and the guard dropped. When the arrow had passed he opened the steel colored wings, banking off and to the side so that he would pass under the striking range of the first guard should the creature decide it was capable of following him. The movement allowed the second guard to bring the long range weapon he still carried into play as well, a whistle answering the first even as the second fired and the first switched to bring the blade down across the shadow creature.

Their target was gone, the blonde lead having fled the scene the moment the guards were distracted. The backpack was unnoticed as of yet, assuming it was important enough to notice at all in their mind, and the defensive force kept coming. Wings starting to sync with each other they spun around, a practiced maneuver that would keep a close range cover with the blade and the long range ability of the blaster. It wasn’t one to advance with however, the pair instead looking for a break in the defenses to get away themselves, the first whistling again, this time the ebb and flow of the notes that cut through the wind effortlessly seeming to almost come together into something like words. The second guard nodded.

The blonde lead put a good amount of distance between them and the guards before they even thought about doing something other than running. The mind that had been analyzing the construction of this city, of the technology level of the civilization and the best ways to dodge, duck, and in general maneuver around the towering buildings and snarling vehicles below turned to a slightly different avenue. Rather than just look for routes to run they started to look at the people below, passing high enough that few seemed to remark. No others soared through the sky, and those on the ground were all wingless. Not a big deal all in all. Many of their trade partners were wingless, and their race had long ago learned how to maneuver better on the ground.

Spotting a promising pool of darkness the blonde swept to the side, and folded their wings into a dive. They came in hot, trusting in the apparent habit of people not looking up and their speed to ensure that they remained unremarked upon. A track of the light, or perception. It had been a dove close by, not a person sized being diving headfirst into a parking garage. The steel toned wings flared, bringing the blonde to a sudden sharp stop the moment they were in the hole, not liking the idea of going any farther into the depths. Feet touched down, and the wings shimmered. A moment later they were gone. Long fingered hands reached up, unclipping the mask to show a human face, the amber eyes unusual but not inhuman until one got close. The lack of wings revealed the jacket that the being wore at least, the back holding a decorative embroidery in it that looked almost like an incomplete V, the workmanship and the length of hair working to hide the blade that still rested beneath. The mask folded away into the beings pocket and they turned, walking swiftly across the short distance to another entrance and then out into the open air.

They didn’t stay around the site however, instead tucking hands into the pockets of the jacket like so many of those passing. Then they walked, the babble of the humans meaning nothing yet, although how they spoke was what the being was after, eyes darting to the phones and other devices.

It was reassuring that the shadow user had the ability to fall without injury, and apparently could actually fly. His mind flashed to the Raven he had known, the thought that this might be a version occurring to him. He would find out later however, as the pair converged together.

Dropping from the scaffolding he flung yet another device at them. This one wasn’t an attack however, instead the small tracker flying out to attach itself to whatever solid surface it managed to find. He should have done the same to the lead who had already disappeared from sight. At least they had whatever the item was, Robin acknowledging Mason and Aram with a nod. The pair was on the defensive for now, they just had to bring them to the ground where they would have the advantage. How they were going to do that he was still working on. Unless they had a way to track the lead…possible since they appeared to be from the same place.
