Welcome
In the year 2001, a year after the Y2K crisis, NEX Corporation would unveil their latest technological marvel: Techs. These Techs can appear as regular devices that can be integrated into everyday appliances such as cars and even people.
Thank you for purchasing NEX Corporation's Techs! To learn more about Techs please read below:- Each Tech is categorized into three categories: Utility, Weapon and Mutation.
- Utility Techs are ones that the public are allowed to use. This is the Tech with the most variety as there are many practical usages for them such as the simple Umbrella to GPS.
- Weapon Techs are heavily limited to public usage under Federal Law. These are generally used to create weapons for police and military use. Of course that has not stopped other from circulating said Techs as well as manufacturing their own. These Techs to enhance regular objects for defensive and combat purposes.
- Mutation Techs are simply illegal under public use unless given the property authority and clearance. Even police and the military cannot use them unless given special permission. These Techs allow for exotic and dangerous abilities and forms.
- To use a Tech one must undergo the Tech Compatibility Test, a procedure where one is injected with special antibodies that allow the body to activate said Techs. These antibodies react with the Tech's particle emitter which allows for the activation of Techs.
- A person can only have one type of Mutation Tech at a time since the body cannot handle more than one of the same type. To use two at the same time will cause the antibodies to forcefully fail and cause a person to go under cardiac arrest. That is the main reason why Mutation Techs are kept out of public hands besides how dangerous they are.
- Utility Techs generally have no fatal risks associated with them however the antibodies cannot handle usage of more than two of them at a given time. This also ensures that humanity does not have to constantly rely on said techs for every single occurrence.
- Weapon Techs are strictly bound to only one at a time. This was made under public safety and to avoid other necessary risks with the antibodies.
Tech Laws
These are the laws that one must follow when using one. Those that have a Tech are to follow these responsibilities or will be brought under the Law.
- If in possession of a Tech that can cause harm onto others then do not use it to bring harm to another. The exception is under the pretense of Self-Defense and accordance with the law. Police and any military figures are to bear full responsibility for their actions when using them since they are given the right to use them accordingly.
- Tech Usage in any official competition is illegal with the exception of specific and approved Techs.
- To possess a Mutation and/or Weapon Tech without given authority and proof is illegal.
- Any official establishment has the right to refuse and ban usage of any and all given Techs under circumstantial reasons. One may take the case to court if they feel that it is unjust.
A year later and Techs have become integrated into our everyday lives. The given laws, restrictions and regulations prevent potential abuse and crime. Of course crime does go on and many in the criminal underworld use Techs for their own gain. While the Police are able to use said Techs, they are also limited due to their own duties and responsibilities as well as limited usage of Weapon/Mutation Techs. With the public in constant risk of Tech-related crimes, the U.N has decided that a new organization be created to help deal with the problems of Tech-related crimes and assist the Police if needed.
The T.A, or Technician's Assembly, is a government-sponsored organization that is committed to dealing with Tech-related crimes. They will allow even members of the public to join on their own volition, however they will go through a background check to assure that they select good people. People within the Technician's Assembly are able to take on requests given by either the Government or the public.
Positions and Ranks in the T.A
Head Chairman: Leads the T.A as well as manage the organization as a whole.
Vice Chairman: Assists the Head Chairman in his duties as well as give direct orders to the General Board.
The General Board: They are a group of 8 members that the Head Chairman personally selected to act as his group of advisors. The General Board work to make decisions in regards to the T.A as well as other important matters. In the likely case that the Head and/or Vice Chairman are unable to uphold their duties and/or are dead, then the General Board must hold an election.
Rookie Technician - Your simple new recruit who has just joined. They are the Rookie Technicians. They can only take D-Rank Missions. There are numerous kinds of Technicians who take on different sorts of jobs due to their skill sets. A Rookie Technician who has not decided on such remain with their title till then.
Regular Technician - Upon deciding on the type of Technician that a person wishes to be, he or she may apply to take the Technician's Exam. If he or she passes then one is promoted to 'Regular' status. A Regular is able to select C-A ranked missions, however B-A are locked until one is proven of their qualifications.
Special Technician - These 'Specialists' are those who have proven that they are among the finest and best in terms of skill, ability and integrity. Becoming a specialist requires an official letter of recommendation as well as noteworthy accomplishments. A 'Specialist' is able to perform top-secret missions as well as be granted special privileges.
The current year is 2020. Starlight City is a place bustling with people, entertainment and business. It is also a place where criminals can lurk about. Stationed in Starlight City is the Starlight T.A Center, a location where members of the T.A can be stationed at. Numerous things come and go within this city and whenever there is a Tech-related crime about, then the T.A is sure to follow.
You are... well you can be part of the T.A or a criminal that may or may not be part of another faction. Now said factions are a secret for now but in any case most of you will start off as a new recruit for the T.A and will be stationed in Starlight City. Maybe you have lived their your whole life or had been relocated here. In any case you will find yourself within a new kind of life as you meet new people and may be involved in dangerous situations.
Welcome to Technician: A World of Tech, an RP that brings you to a world where powers are in the form of technology. This RP is driven on the interactions of the characters and the setting, so having frequent posts will lead to a more diverse world. Of course I understand the fallacies of RPs and low postings and so I felt that a solution had to exist.
Promoting posting in an RP is generally dependent on the type of RP itself. For Technician, posting can yield rewards for you to use on your characters.
In order to promote something, one must be motivated to do so no? It is basic human behavior to do something for a given reason. The world of Technician takes place in modern-day Earth and is filled with Techs. As such people will receive TP, or Technician Points, for doing various things such as posting or recruitment. TP can be traded in for receiving new Techs, increasing a character's stat as well as strengthening your Tech. I'll be sure to think more uses for these TPs but for now that's all I can give in terms of examples.
What I am aiming for is a fun open-world RP where actions can lead to new plot points as well as an expansion upon RP abilities.
