You are a criminal. A very good one, in fact.
How you got into this life is of no matter. Perhaps you were born into it, your family killing itself for power and money. Or perhaps you were forced into it, for means of surviving the harsh streets of the world. Whatever the case may be, you have made a name for yourself in the dark underbelly; your skills are refined, your mind is sharp. You kill or you hack into security systems, you steal pure gold or push your enemies off balconies. You know things that would make the innocent sick. Hitman, thief, mafia spy, hacker - whatever you are, you're on the not so bright side of life.
Maybe the law has caught up to you yet. Or maybe they don't even know your name, with no records to point at you. You might have thought yourself safe, dead to the world.
Thing is, somebody has caught wind of you. Good news - they don't want to hurt you. You are simply of great interest to them.
That's the bad news.
You got a message from an unknown number - try as you might to find it's source, it only bounces back to obscure offshore companies - not too long ago. Your full name, background, pictures.
And proof of a secret that would ruin all you've built if it ever got out.
Whether you killed somebody too important, or have people to protect - or maybe you've done something that would bring catastrophe. Whatever it is that keeps you up at night, somebody knows and they have things to back it up.
All you got with that was a text message, sent a second after.
'I know who you are. Deleting this will do nothing. If you don't want anybody to find out, you will wait for a letter. Read it carefully.'
If somebody brought it to you or if you simply found it on your apartment table, not having been there a day ago, there was no other option but to read it. Not if you actually cared about what you've fought for. The letter was short and simple, no return address - carefully devoid of any fingerprints or proof it has ever been touched by a human. All it said was;
'Three days from now. 11:30 am. Resolution Tower, final floor. Do not be late.'
In it was an one-way ticket to New York City, burning against your hand like fire.

Hi, hello and welcome to Team Tenebris, a roleplay centered on a group of criminals forced to work together! A shadowy goverment organisation is holding their secrets hostage, threatening to reveal them - if they do not work in a team, becoming secrets in their own rights. Mysterious disappearances, shady arms dealing, trafficking and murder thrive in the country, and that is something the organisation wants to prevent. Basically; secret goverment agency recruits criminals to become agents and fight crime!
The plot is inspired by Ocean 8 and Charlie's Angels, though you don't need to be familiar with either of those to join! The vibe will be similar with action, drama and angst - and secrets the characters will have to discover for themselves. I would love for there to be subplots related to the characters themselves and hopefully, something similar to found family.

No team can run on it's own - especially not if said team is filled with criminals eager to serve themselves. That's why the leader is here, to make sure everything goes well with minimal bloodshed. With the final say in every mission and argument, they're the head of the crew. One might envy their right to give punishment or prize where they seem fit, but the title is really a collar of gold. Despite the fact they're the one at the top, they still have to listen to the boss - and any mistake of the team is their mistake, too.

It happens often that people die. They get replaced. Or in less severe situations, maybe the leader simply gets hurt or sick or lost - in which case the underleader comes in. The second hand, the most trusted person to the leader, the one to lead when there is nobody else; you get the drift. Brave side-kicks and loyal right hand men are as old as legends themselves. Though, just how loyal the one here is is up for debate; you know what they say about ambition and lackeys.

The members of the team, forced here by their own secrets. With different roles and skills, they're loosely formed into smaller groups - with all of them having to answer to the leader and the boss. All with something to hide, their loyalty might be one of pure selfishness; but time will tell if that will change.

All RPN rules apply, of course. Keep in mind that this roleplay will include dark themes (abuse, drug use, violence, etc.) so for comforts sake, please be 18+! If you have any triggers, let me know beforehand.

Discord will be used for OOC talks once the roleplay starts, so please be able to use it!

Please do not make OP characters. The roleplay will allow for everybody to have their turn in the spotlight, so please respect the other writers!

OOC bigotry, bullying or hate will not be tolerated. Diverse characters are very much welcome.
rule five.
Be able to post at least once per week. Since real life can quickly get busy, I understand if you need a break or might not be able to post, but please let me know in advance.
rule six.
On that note, please be able to write at least two paragraphs! I won't be too strict on this rule, seeing as different scenes demand different lengths + sometimes your motivation just isn't working with you. But please try to give some detail for others to reply to. No one liners.
rule seven.
This will not be first come first serve. This isn't to be picky, but to have a cast that will maintain immersion and work well together. Please do not be offended if yours doesn't get accepted! For now, the character limit is 1, but once you get accepted you can make more characters!
