She washed up on shore alone, and did her best to survive. With what she learned from her father, she used those abilities to get better, and get stronger, until she was discovered by someone from Beacon who invited her to join after seeing her fight a horde of Grimm on her own.

Sequoia Amaranth

"Call me '
Buck'."

cbde57b7c308c2a80d2dc2cd5b63fa96.jpg

?Age: 24

?Race: Faunus

?Description: Sequoia is a decently tall female, with a slender yet somewhat lanky figure. She possesses quite a bit of muscle all over her body. She has quite the length of appendages, with long, thin fingers and feet. With relatively straight red hair (not even orange or ginger, actually red). Sequoia has bright sky blue eyes and long crimson eyelashes that fan out over her glistening eyes. Her standard stature usually consists of her shoulders back, hips forward, and arms crossed (somewhat like in the picture).

http://orig13.deviantart.net/df64/f...ning_through_the_forest_by_yumaki-d6oynhy.jpg

Faunus Traits

http://orig13.deviantart.net/df64/f...ning_through_the_forest_by_yumaki-d6oynhy.jpg:

Sequoia possesses large brown antlers that in which protrude from her skull (hence the nickname "Buck"). They begin at the upper sections of her forehead and extend out, adding

two feet

of thick, branching carapaces. She also has dark splotchy deer-like markings that cover her upper back and the beginning of her arms, as well as a small brown and white striped deer tail sprouting from her tail bone.

Gender:

Female

Height:

5'10"

Weight:

162lbs

Hair color:

Red

Body type:

Athletic/lanky

Armor:

Because her weapon can double as a shield of sorts, she has no real need of actual armor.

Weapon:

http://i.imgur.com/y50aLtz.jpgMecha Gauntlets

http://i.imgur.com/y50aLtz.jpg

The Mecha Gauntlets are exactly what they sound like: large mechanical gauntlets.

{Strengths}: The gauntlets are very powerful and can cause any potential enemy to go flying.

{Weaknesses}: The gauntlets utilize incredibly power from its user. They are very heavy and are inertia-based.

?Semblance: Electrical Manipulation

{Brief Description}: The ability to manipulate electricity through ones body and arc it into other beings or items.

{Strengths}: Allows user to withstand with amounts of electricity with little to no harm, can be used to incapacitate enemies, and even power or weld items. Electricity can be fused/merged into the user's weapon to create more power and knock back.

{Weaknesses:} The user need to charge up, storing the electricity in the body, and if it is above the users limit, unconsciousness can occur via immense internal power in the form of an energy leak. At any electrical charge, the user may not enter large bodies of water, this will cause all the power to surge into the water and could potentially kill the user.

{Extra}: In Sequoia's case, her antlers tend to conduct and store electricity, and electricity can be seen crackling between the carapaces when she begins to lose control via her hotheadedness.

?Notable Strengths: Sequoia is a lithe runner and has very high endurance to do so. She has great hearing and sight, as well as stealth in her movement. She can jump high and is very acrobatic and in tune with her surroundings. She is very strategic, as well as strong and fit in both mind and body. She is very experienced in creating battle plans in her head, so if questions in combat arise, Sequoia is the best for assistance.

?Notable Weaknesses: Sequoia, despite being very elastic and flexible, does not have the best balance. Her semblance can also be very fatal her health if not handled properly, causing electrocution or even death to her person. She is very hotheaded and can get very physical in confrontation when her more animal instincts unearth.

?Fears:

Sequoia often fears that she will lose her connection with her human counterpart via her hotheadedness, and being a Faunus will be all that she will be known for because of her animal-like temper.

?Fighting Style: Melee/Ranged

?Personality: Sequoia is a relatively calm individual, with her own values and virtues. She knows when to talk, when to communicate, and when to share her own wisdom, thus marking her as one to keep remarkable silence. She can be brutally honest, and won't hesitate from telling someone the truth. She never sugar-coats things. Sequoia can be a loose cannon when angered. It can be very difficult to calm her down, but she often finds her release in destroying things. She doesn't favor working with others, but will do it if she has to.

Sequoia is a loner, and will often be seen doing things by herself. She loves to train and make herself better, because she believes that there's always room for improvement. She's not one for confrontation, because she knows her temper must be controlled at all costs. She can be quite stubborn, and does find combat to settle most things, but Sequoia tends to force herself to agree that peace-talking is the best way to go. Sequoia is a very steadfast and stolid person. Much like a buck, she is also very strong and loyal.

?Biography: Being born a Faunus, Sequoia was always teased. She hails from a small cottage on the far outskirts of Mistral, that being at least a mile or two from open society of the kingdom. For the first beginning years of her life, she was taught her weapon mechanics by her parents, as well as the wandering wisdom-filled uncle. But, for the most part, she was very self-taught in her art of fighting and semblance-usage. This was where she had learned to be more of a loner than be around many people. She became in tune with animals, as they were the only company she had really needed. Once old enough, Sequoia was enrolled in Haven Academy and began training there.

Like any Faunus, however, she was teased for her extra appendages and hybrid genes. Her peers knew how to push her buttons, up to the point where the girl had learned both her hotheadedness as well as her patience. Of course, she never really had any friends, except for the occasional Faunus that she had happened to clique with. That was always at a minimal chance, so Sequoia had learned that friends don't assist you in any way except for hurting you. She had taken in the lesson that purebred humans were untrustworthy beings that were incredible backstabbers to those who they gain the trust of.

Over the years, after she had graduated, Sequoia had discovered a spy group whose mission was to scout out potential elite hunters and huntresses, starting with Beacon Academy, the best.

⊱Name
: Church Augustine

⊱Age: 21

⊱Race: Human

⊱Description: Male/Female: Male

Height

: 6'5"

Weight

202lbs

Hair color

: Black

Body type

: Built/Strong/Muscular

Armor

: Lacking the strength in Aura that most students have, Church must compensate with two layers of armor.

1st Layer

.) A full body suit of standard iron Chain-Mail covers Church from head to toe.

2nd Layer

.) Attachments of High-Entropy Alloys, that are as light as aluminum and as strong as titanium, cover his extremities and vital organs.

fantasyaxe7fdc.jpg

Weapons

: With knowledge passed down from generations of skilled blacksmith's, Church forged his two-handed axe with his own hands. This axe has 3 forms, that coincide well with his semblance.

1.) Two-handed Axe

: Exactly as it is displayed in the picture

2.) Two, One-Handed Axes

: Church's Axe can separate at the haft to form two one handed axes for both hands.

3.) One-Handed Axe w/Shield

: Instead of two, one-handed Axe's as option two displays, one of the Axes can take the form of a 4-foot shield for defensive needs

⊱Semblance
: "Stance": In his youth, Church was late to discover his Semblance. He trained for 4 years with a retired Huntress, Adal Windstorm, and discovered it, during one of his sparring sessions.

Church started the sparring session by going on the offensive, using the Two-Handed form of his Axe to land precise, surgical, and well-placed strikes.

When Adal responded with an even greater offensive, Church unlocked the haft of his Axe, deployed his shield, and went on the defensive. Church blocked and deflected every strike by Adal, only attacking with the other half of his Axe when the opportunity presented itself.

Finally, Adal appeared to exhaust herself, and Church snapped his shield back to it's Axe form and charged the instructor with his two, one-handed axes.

At that moment, after using all three of his fighting styles, Church felt his Aura pulsing and at that moment, he instinctually knew what his Semblance was.

1.) Balanced Stance

: A balanced combat stance that focuses on precise and surgical attacks. Church has noticed a significant boost to his accuracy and battle-field awareness when using this stance. (Two-handed Axe)

2.) Iron Stance

: A defensive combat stance that slightly increases the strength of his Aura and his overall fortitude, allowing Church to endure more hits while remaining on his feet. (Axe and Shield)

3.) Dueler's Stance

: An offensive stance that grants Church a boost to his speed, power, and agility. (Two, One-Handed Axes.)

Notable Strengths: 1.)Compared to other Humans, Church is an exceptionally large, built, and all around "hard" individual. His strength doesn't come from his Aura or other otherworldly force; his strength comes from his body.

2.) Church's calm and introverted personality, even in combat, allows him to approach situations logically and critically. When people talk, he actively listens. As he fights, he observes his opponent, adjusting as needed to maximize his chances for success.

⊱Notable Weaknesses: 1.) Church's Aura is significantly weaker than that of other student's, forcing him to focus more on his own self-preservation and discouraging epic displays of reckless heroism.

2.) Church's sister, Asha, is a significant emotional weakness. In many ways, Asha is the only family he has left and any form of logic or reason would evaporate for Church if she was in mortal danger.

3.) Church has an extremely limited ranged combat capability. While able to throw his Axes accurately for a significant distance, he must then go retrieve them.

⊱Fighting Style: Melee/Defensive

⊱Personality: Introverted, Follower, Humble

⊱Bio: Church grew up on the outskirts of a small village in Forever Fall. He lived with his Mom, Dad, and Sister, Asha Augustine. His father worked as an expert blacksmith with strong partnerships to the surrounding villages and even Signal Academy. The blacksmithing shop was built by his father’s own hands as a separate building off of their house. His mother worked as tailor who saw similar success, in a shop located in the village itself. Growing up, Church went through grade school in Vale, and then when he was 16 assumed the role of apprentice blacksmith in his father’s shop. Church found he was skilled in weapon smithing, loved it, and had no intention of ever becoming a fighter.

That is until a year later, when the Grimm attacked en masse on the village which housed his mother’s shop. And on that specific day, Asha was with his mother as well. Church remembered hearing his mother’s frantic voice over the phone as she called his father alerting him to their situation. Church remembered his father, without hesitation, grabbing a weapon and tossing him the first sword he’d ever wield. “We’re getting them out of there.” He had said to Church, and they sprinted towards the village.

Church remembered hearing the cries and shouts of people as they evacuated the village, he and his father arriving just in time to see an Ursa break down the door to the tailoring shop. Church’s father lunged onto the Ursa to get its attention, and his mother starting flailing at it as well, to buy him and Asha some time. “Get your sister out of here. Now!” his father demanded. Church remembers how conflicted he was in that moment. He wanted to stay and help his parents, but also felt a duty to protect his sister. In the end, protecting his sister turned out to be his priority.

Together, he and Asha sprinted out of the village back toward their home where a “panic room” waited for them to utilize. They didn’t make it far, however, before two Beowolves intercepted them. Church yelled at Asha to sprint back to the house and he brandished his sword and began swinging violently toward the Grimm, drawing their attention. The Grimm turned out to be more agile then Church thought, and he wasn’t even able to land a single hit. One of the Beowolves lunged at Church, knocking him back and pinned him on the ground, and that is where Church expected his journey to end.

Fate, as it would seem, had a different plan for Church as a squad of police officers and two huntsmen arrived just in time to exterminate the Beowolves before he came to any real harm. Church marveled at the huntsmen. Armed with weapons he had never seen forged, and armor just as unique. They cut down the Grimm swiftly and surgically. When they were finished, one of the Huntsmen walked over, took Church’s hand, and pulled him to his feet. “You alright?” He asked.

“Yeah.” Church replied, shaking the dust off. “But the village…”

“We’re already on it.” The other Huntsman stated as he led the group toward the fighting. The Huntsman who helped him gave him a nod and ran to catch up with his group.

Church never saw his parents again, after that day. Indeed, they had perished by the Ursa they engaged in the shop. Soon after, a parchment arrived from the Vale Bank stating that he and his sister had a security deposit, their father had kept for them, to withdraw. The inheritance was substantial and Church knew exactly what he wanted to do with it. If he had been able to fight, he could’ve rescued his father, mother, and Asha without a sweat. Like the Huntsman.

Church sat Asha down and explained to her what he was going to do. “I’m going to train to be a Huntsman. I know I’m a little old to just be starting, but it’s what I want to do.” To his shock, Asha also stood and said she wanted to train with him. Church tried to object, but Asha was a stubborn girl. She couldn’t be told no, even when their parent’s had been alive. Together they looked and soon found the name of a retired Huntress, Adal Windstorm. After approaching her, explaining what they wanted, and offering payment, the white haired woman looked both of them deep in the eyes, studying them.

“You.” Adal said, pointing at Asha. “I can train you.” Adal’s eyes wandered over to Church. “But you….” She said, her voice trailing off. “Well…. I suppose we shall see.”

To say Church was discouraged by those words was an understatement, but he wouldn’t quit. This was what he wanted, and he knew it.

⊱Name: Asha Augustine

⊱Age: 19

⊱Race: Human

Gender: Female

Height: 5 feet 3

Weight: 125

Hair color: Black with a purplish tinge

Eye color: Deep violet

Body type: Petite and short

⊱Armor: Asha doesn't wear armor, her weapons are enough protection for her.

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_12/image.jpeg.30c6a421540ec27afae0fbec9d66e973.jpeg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="94183" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_12/image.jpeg.30c6a421540ec27afae0fbec9d66e973.jpeg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

⊱Weapon(s): Asha's main weapons are mechanical wings that spread out of a metal plate on her back. She can control them like how a normal person would move their hands, or walk.

The metal used to make it is lightweight but strong, which means she can use them for flying and defense against attacks at the same time. The wings can shoot sharp, metal feathers of various sizes, which are furthered by Dust. The feathers can be automatically retrieved if Asha wills it.

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_12/image.jpeg.7db5917862b5370e150ea14f1ce99530.jpeg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="94174" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_12/image.jpeg.7db5917862b5370e150ea14f1ce99530.jpeg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

She also has a sword which she uses as backup weapon, in case she is not able to use her wings.

⊱Semblance: Animation - Asha can 'give life' to inanimate objects, not as in a proper soul or living energy, she can just animate it and will it to do whatever she wants it to do.

This is quiet useful in battle. She can animate objects and will them to fight with her.

⊱Notable Strengths:

  • Despite her "charming" (not) personality, Asha is a good leader, who takes everyone's opinions into account. She plans things out carefully, noting her team mates' strengths and weaknesses.
  • Her wings allow her to attack from a height, which can make it hard for an opponent on the ground to harm unless they can fly or find a way to reach her level.
  • Her semblance, animation, allows her to animate inanimate and make them fight by her side.

⊱Notable Weaknesses:

  • Asha would do anything and everything for Church, her brother. Anything that threatens Church would put her in a vulnerable position, ready for manipulation.
  • On the ground, Asha is at a disadvantage because it's harder to shoot using her wings on the ground. She is not as skilled with her sword as she is with her wings, and really requires more training with it.
  • Animation (her semblance) requires more energy depending on the size of the inanimate object. If she tries to animate anything that's too big, she may even die.

⊱Fighting Style: Ranged/Dust

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_12/image.jpeg.4cb1399a6276e9f23192f39d334ec2db.jpeg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="94173" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_12/image.jpeg.4cb1399a6276e9f23192f39d334ec2db.jpeg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

⊱Personality: Asha can be a bit haughty and rather rude at first, and is generally cold to everyone. But this is only done to protect herself from getting too close to anyone, she's afraid. Church is the only one who knows about her soft side. She's not an easy person to panic, she has the ability to remain calm in the middle of crazy situations. But she is an easy person to anger. Her anger mostly involves dirty looks and extra-snarky remarks.

⊱Bio: Asha grew up on the outskirts of a small village in Forever Fall. She lived with her Mom, Dad, and brother, Church Augustine. Her father worked as an expert blacksmith with strong partnerships to the surrounding villages and even Signal Academy. The blacksmithing shop was built by her father’s own hands as a separate building off of their house. Her mother worked as tailor who saw similar success, in a shop located in the village itself. Growing up, Asha went through grade school in Vale with Church. She would occasionally help her mom at the shop.

Everything was going fine, until a pack of Grimm attacked the village. Asha had been with her mother that day, and still hears the terrified screams of the villagers in her dreams. Her mother had called her father, and then hidden along with Asha in the tailoring shop, too afraid to step outside.

It almost seemed like they were safe, when an Ursa broke into the tailoring shop and almost killed them both. Suddenly Church and her father were by their side, her father attacking the creature relentlessly with a sword. He had yelled at them to run, asked her brother to take her far away from there. With much reluctance, she had left the shop, tears streaming down her face.

Together, she and Church sprinted out of the village back toward their home where a “panic room” waited for them to utilize. They didn’t make it far, however, before two Beowolves intercepted them. Church yelled at her to sprint back to the house as he brandished his sword and began swinging violently toward the Grimm, drawing their attention. The last thing Asha wanted to do was abandon her brother, but then she realized that she could get him help. Sprinting towards the house, she suddenly bumped into a tall man.

He was armed with weapons and armor she had never seen before. He was Huntsman, she realized. "Please," she had grabbed his arm and pointed towards where Church was fighting the two Grimm. "My brother. Help him. He'll die!
Please!" Immediately, he and a group of police officers along with another Huntsman had gone rushing to Church, and taken down the two creatures without even breaking a sweat.

They then proceeded to kill off the other Grimm, and had done it with amazing grace, speed and strength. That day, Asha knew what she wanted to be. She wanted to be a Huntress, so that no one else would have to go through what she went through. She would save someone's life, just like the two Huntsmen had.

Asha never saw her parents again, after that day. They had perished by the Ursa they engaged in the shop. Soon after, a parchment arrived from the Vale Bank stating that she and her brother had a security deposit, their father had kept for them, to withdraw. The inheritance was substantial and Asha knew exactly what she wanted to do with it. She had only one doubt - what would Church say?

She was surprised when he suddenly sat her down one day, and said; “I’m going to train to be a Huntsman. I know I’m a little old to
just be starting, but it’s what I want to do.” Asha had told him then and there that she wanted to wanted to be a Huntress, and wouldn't let him object. It was what she wanted - so she would do it. Church had always been rather overprotective of her anyway, he had to learn that she could protect herself.

Asha didn't know what to say, she was ecstatic that Adal could train her but she knew how much Church wanted to become a Huntsman as much as she did - if not more. But she believed in Church. And indeed, he pulled through.

And finally, they had made it to Beacon. A little old to be new students, but still accepted anyway.

⊱Extras: Her favourite color is ash grey and she has a rather formal style of dressing.

?Name: Dusk Elias Leonfeld

?Age: 16

?Race: Faunus (Coyote)

?Description: Male

Height: 5'7"

Weight: 172

Hair color: Black

Body type: Skinny

Armor: While relying mostly on aura for protection Dusk is concerned enough for his own safety to augment his aura with protective padded cloth armour.

Weapon(s): Set of throwing knives, dust capsules fitted to a launcher on the right wrist

?
Semblance: Aura Control

Capable of using his aura to manipulate objects telekinetically primarily to launch and retrieve his knives. Can also extend his aura around others to provide additional protection and use dust to charge the aura with elemental properties.

?Notable Strengths:

  • Bolstering allies defences
  • Varied elemental attacking options

?Notable Weaknesses:

  • Lacks any ability to block with his weapons
  • A little too worried about being injured to throw himself into serious danger
  • Diverting his aura to others weakens his own defense

?Fighting Style: Ranged/Dust

?Personality:

A generally nervous person, Dusk, while not actually cowardly is the type to go out of his way to avoid trouble as much as possible, particularly confrontation with his peers. However if physically backed into a corner he will respond with a desperate violence.

When working in a team Dusk is usually deferrent and willing to follow another's lead preferring to act as support rather than risk antagonising people he relys on to take the front line instead of himself.

?Bio: Dusk was raised as the only child of a Faunus couple in an isolated village in Vale until an attack by a roaming Beowulf pack killed his mother. Fleeing from the Grimm the boy managed to instinctively use his aura to survivea a few attacks before a huntsman that had been tracking the pack appeared and slew them all.

Intrigued by the child that had used aura defensively without any training the huntsman urged Dusk to enter combat academy to learn how to properly use his skills.

While training Dusk quickly learned to manipulate his aura using his semblance but struggled with weaponry until he began practising with throwing knives physically and eventually honed his control to use them telekinetically. Observing other trainees using dust to augment their skills led Dusk to experiment with dust himself leading to the integration of elemental properties to his aura.

Leaving his out of the way home has exposed Dusk to his first serious experiences of Human racism towards the Faunus. His reaction to the initial incident was one of frank disbelief, after that he took to keeping watch for familiar troublemakers and hiding his ears under a hat. On occasions when he was caught out by bullies his panicked reactions resulted in explosive bursts of his aura.

?Extras:

Sometimes hides his ears under a beanie hat.
