It was nice that some Shilo was able to think despite the sound of the ticking. Evan wasn’t in the mood for puzzles, let alone loud ones, and she was in less of a mood to be around people -- even if they were herself. So playing along with this game was not exactly her plan. Though, at this point, she may have to put everything aside if people were going to be this stupid. Before she could really react to what was going on around her, the ticking only got louder before being disappearing underneath the sound of loud clock-like chiming. It was absolute Hell. It reminded her of being back with Borys, where she would have to figure things out in a certain amount of time, and if she got too overzealous with her answers, she’d get punished instead of rewarded. Things had to be exactly right, or they were wrong.

The upside, however, to the chimes was that once they were finished everything else was much quieter. Of course, there was a ringing in her ears that reminded her a bit of that one time she’d been unable to protect her ears from the sound of a grenade blast. But that was significantly easier to live with than the collective voices of her other selves and the ungodly sound of the ticking.

Though, something new caught her eye. Amidst the sound of the chimes, a clock had sprouted up out of nowhere. She was too far away from it, however, to see what time it told or anything about the clock at all. Evan clenched her jaw, shooting a glance at Frank to see if he was alright but also to gauge his expression. I’m really not liking this experience. She thought, trying to project her thoughts to him to make it easier for him to read.

Taking deep breaths to calm herself after the attack had landed, Chilo grunted upon laying eyes on the mere dent she had left in the wall. "What?! I've leveled islands with a blast of that power!" she barked, and again gasped as, after she blinked, she found a fresh new layer appear before her very eyes. Clenching her fists too hastily after the blast and singing her fingertips, she'd shake her hands cool before rubbing her eyes, only to find the wallpaper appeared as if nothing happened. "This is insane! Just what manner of maniacal creations are these earthlings capable of creating?!" Nostrils flaring, the mighty saiyan warrior was reduced to twiddling her thumbs and tapping her foot along to the loudening tick while looking around the room for something - anything - and was met with a grandfather clock of all things. As if to taunt her, there it was, standing right where her feared Double Sunday technique had failed to leave even a mark. Opting not to reveal her powerlevel to the surrounding earthlings more than was necessary, Chilo kept a level head as she walked up to read the inscription carved into the accursed clock.

"Oh joy, an earthling riddle..." Chilo growled, and folded her arms to restrain herself from testing her mettle against earthling glass,
"All of you-...all of me...?" she idly mused, shaking her head, "All of you can have at it, but don't expect much help. I can't read foreign clocks and my scouter's time translator is on the fritz,"

Shirose Xiao Long

From Dust Till Dawn, 6:57 P.M.

A dark red-haired girl placed a small pack of 24 Dust-filled .357 caliber bullets, loaded into four speedloaders, an old man's counter.

They were of a weaker Gravity Dust type, and as such, the bullets' jackets themselves were coated in a black paint, with the cover of the pack highlighting such a trait. In comparison to the stronger, purer, more expensive purple Gravity Dust, it would only send her modest distances, when said purple Dust would send her greater distances that could especially aid her in certain situations. After all, the black Dust was almost exactly a good fit for fighting in the streets, not so much against a pack of Grimm in a forest. It wasn't just her fault that she was here, buying herself ammunition; a standoff against a serial killer, who tried to kill Yin when she wasn't looking, had gone ugly, and turns out, it was a tough fight, to put it lightly. At the very least, she thought, she could rest easy, knowing fully well that she had succeeded at protected her elder sister when she was vulnerable.

It could have repeated history.

"That'll be 196 Lien."

The girl nodded, then pulled out two Yellow Lien cards amounting to about 200 in...well, Lien and placed it upon the counter, where the shopkeep picked it up and filed into the Lien register. Then he crunched a few numbers, then gave her four Lien in change, alongside the pack of 24 bullets in question.

"Thank you, miss, come again!"

"No prob."

Smiling, the girl took the Lien and pack before walking away from the old shoopkeep. However, something outside the shop caught her one eye, and as quickly as her smile formed, it faded into a look of hostility upon the young girl's face. Groaning lightly, she paced towards the wall, where she lied against it and opened the bullet pack for herself. Sliding her gloved hand onto one of the pouches on her holster, she flipped its flap open, revealing an empty slot for a speedloader. Without hesitation, she quickly loaded six of the bundled bullets into the pouch, then un-holstered one of her revolvers, unlatched its empty cylinder, and inserted another speedloader, refilling the revolver.

As the armed girl pushed the cylinder back in the revolver, the shopkeep looked towards her, worried.

"What's going on?"

"Look out the window. You'll see."

When Shirose pressed a button on her revolver that unfolded a sickle blade underneath the barrel and right near the tip, the shopkeep looked to the doors and squinted. Finally, he could made out what was troubling her; a group of mobsters, headed by a white-coated man in a bowler hat, holding a cane, was walking up to the store.

"Are we being robbed..?"

"There you go. Now barricade the shop, and I'll handle the rest."

The old man could not help, but to nod. Then, the girl exited the store, and lo and behold, there was the same suspicious people. However, as they were walking, they stopped on behalf of their leader, who proceeded to put his cigar out of his mouth.

"'Little Red'! Never thought ya'd show up, after all these rumors flyin' aro--"

"Gonna stop you right there."

The man in the bowler hat furrowed his eyebrows, then opened his mouth to say something. Before he could let even a syllable out, "Little Red" took a few steps towards him, pointing her revolver at his left eye and holding up her index finger with her left hand.

"Before whatever, how about I tell about me first...Roman?"

Roman said nothing; he instead put the cigar back in his mouth, then lit it with his lighter, refusing to break his glare upon her. Then, the girl put her left hand down.

"I am Shirose Xiao Long. Or...just Shirose, if that's what you'd rather put it."

"Mmmm--Mmmm..! Fancy name, Red! Shirose."

"Now, enough said. What are you here for, and why?"

Roman chuckled.

"What am I here for? Don't be so silly, isn't it obvious!"

"...Lien."

"Cold, cold! That's Dust I'm here for. And now that you're apparently going to tell me to step off? I'm sorry, Red, I'm afraid I can't do that."

"But justice certainly can make you. Now, accept that this is Vale's territory, or you get what you should've seen coming."

"...Okay..?"

Roman puffed one more cluster of smoke from cigar, then took it out of his mouth.

"Get her."

One of the mobsters charged towards her, but before he could land a hit, he was in for a surprise. Shirose blocked his baton with the Gravity Dust-loaded revolver-sickle, then pulled the trigger on her gun, sending the sickle blade into slicing off a big chunk of his weapon. Using the momentum, she spun on her foot, then spiraled into a high kick to his face, sending him tumbling hard towards the ground. Then as another mobster came towards her, she pulled out her other revolver, holding up her right one, and fired a bullet at his head. Afterwards, she charged towards Roman, flipping a lever on both of her revolvers to transform them more into proper sickles, straight handle and all, albeit with a revolver cylinder, sight, and barrel still sticking out anyway.

However, Roman was ready. He parried her attacks with his cane, then right as she was charging up her attack, he backed off, aiming the bottom of his cane at Shirose's feet and firing a red, explosive flare. When she let out her charged attack, not only did she miss, but she was also unfortunate enough to walk into the red flare, which exploded, sending her flying towards From Dust Till Dawn. Roman was affected too, as he was knocked back by the explosion the cane's flare made, although he managed to keep his balance with only part of his clothes dirtied. However, even that was enough to frustrate him, as some of the ground's remnants stuck to his coat.

"Oh come on! I just got that cleaned!"

While Roman was busy yammering about his fancy coat, Shirose recovered, landing on the facade of the Dust shop with her two feet, then boosted off of it, red petals trailing her and disintegrating. She saw a third mobster coming at her, so she landed on his head with just her revolver-sickles, which deeply ingrained themselves into his scalp, then took off flipping, releasing the blades from the literally braindead associate. Then she landed on the fourth and final mobster's shoulders, pinning him down on the ground sliding, then smashed her foot into the side of his head, knocking him out. Shirose got off the foe who was knocked cold, then as she turned, she saw Roman making a run for his life. Better not emerge scot-free, she swore in her thoughts.

So she took off running after him, but before she could pursue him any further, she noticed all of a sudden that he vision was slowly becoming enveloped in black.

"Egh..!"

Shirose dropped to the ground on her knees, her gloved hands also touching the ground. With her only eye surveying the area around her, there was somehow nothing that was there to cause this sort of thing to happen to her. Perhaps Roman himself, or a henchman, or even his boss, could be causing this. Nonetheless, she could not make it stop, and before long, she was in for a long ride.

.....

When her vision cleared up, Shirose was not where she was anymore. Instead of fighting off the mobsters who were trying to rob an old man's Dust shop, she was now kneeling dazed and confused in a room where dozens of people resembling her and each other were trying to figure out the ticking of a seemingly nonexistent clock. So much suddenly went on in the last few minutes, and she could barely process it all at once, as she struggled to get it together. She wanted to say something--no, yell something about what was going on, but she couldn't bring herself to do so. Then, a traumatic memory triggered. Now she found herself in a distant-looking forest, a location she and Yin was once put in after they had failed their father, Taiyang, over some task and were knocked out by him.

As her hands shook, Shirose got up, and started saying, "C--Can you guys--" before being interrupted by the clock noises increasingly getting louder. She hoped it would eventually stop, but as it began getting louder and louder, she resorted to plugging her ears with her fingers and then moving to a corner in the room where she hoped not be disturbed. There, at least, she would be able to assess the current situation a little more properly, and to hopefully get a sense of what was going on. Some Shilos were inadvertently exacerbating the problem. Other Shilos were trying to chip away at the problem the best of their ability.

But something was clear, was that they were all trying to figure out something. Finally, Shirose had it figured out: She was trapped with numerous people like her, and now whenever they said "clock", the ticking got louder, louder, LOUDER. Then, finally, once the countdown was reached--wait, there was a FUCKING COUNTDOWN?! Eh, I'll just roll with it. Then finally, once the countdown was reached, Shirose was relieved, and she safely put her fingers out of her ears. No more of that ear-splitting systematic noise that was the ticking of a grandfather clock.

However, something was new; a grandfather clock appeared in the room, which apparently had some writing on the face. Shirose then walked up to the clock and examined it. It was nothing out of the ordinary, though it certainly was of a different style from the grandfather clocks of Remnant. However, something caught her eye, and it was what appeared to be thin smudges on the face. Raising one of her eyebrows, she carefully examined the clock's face until she could make out what it was.

Apparently, a riddle was "written" on the clock.

Shirose read the riddle, skimming it at first, then carefully reading it. Then, once she was done examining the riddle, she turned on her heel and faced the other Shilos.

"...So, 'Time is dead with a wheel’s click', 'For time to live, the clock must stop', 'Say his name to stay the drip'. What could that possibly..."

Shirose smiled, raising her hand to scratch her chin. Instantly, she was intrigued by the riddle, and she couldn't help but to think of what to

"...Mean?"

Shilo Ann Saga

Ann nearly screamed. She was covering her ears at this and cursing, downright cursing the stupid motherfuckers who actually had to say the word clock like some drunken idiot in a bar. And then when the most loudest chime she ever heard sounded in her ears and she actually screamed in pain. By the time the chimes were over, she was on the floor, covering her ears in an attempt to rid the world of the chimes. The ringing in her ears was deafening. It was as if a explosion went off inside the room. She got up and batted her ears, trying her hardest to get rid of the ringing. Eventually, mercifully, the ringing ended and she stood there with only one thing to say:

"WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!?"

She glared at the three most responsible for this travesty, specifically her asian counterpart, the posh lady counterpart (which from the few sentences she heard uttered didn't seem like the type to take anything except herself seriously so she was definitely on the Ignore List) and the devil girl. The stupid asian chick and devil girl who thought it would be so smart to say clock a thousand times under her breath was definitely on her Prey List or rather the Kill/Don't Save List, whichever you would prefer. Only time will tell if they got themselves off her list though she doubted the posh lady would ever get off her Ignore List.

"Nevermind."

She turned her attention to the wallpaper which had been sliced through revealing a grandfather clock and in turn revealing a riddle. Oh great, riddles. She read it through twice, muttering the riddle to herself absentmindly, then after trying to find out the answer, just flat out gave up. Riddles weren't her thing.

She returned to what was in her mind, the main group of individuals.

"This entire experience is pure unadulterated bullshit." Ann said in response to OG Shilo's statement, "made even worse by the sheer stupity of some others here."

"I've read the riddle. We have to say time's name to stop the drip, whatever that means, and apparently we only have an hour to guess."
She said all this with a carelessness that most immortals like her possess. "After that. I guess we die."

And they will die thinking she was only a mere human with no specialness whatsoever to be noticed. Good. She was fine with that.

Sh’elo was stunned. Even after she specifically said not to repeat the word clock one Shilo even went to chant the word. How could a group of people just like her be so stupid? We’re these actually other Shilo’s? Was this just some cruel joke? All she knew was she wasn’t going to like being with this group for to long, for the sake of her sanity of course. However, despite the countdown reaching zero it didn’t really trigger much? Despite a clock arising from the smoke of another Shilo’s blast.

Interesting, the source of the sound? Possibly, but where was it till now? Did the answer really matter? Maybe, but the Jedi noticed something else. The force seemed to make some inscriptions pop out to her, it seemed there was writing on the face of the clock. The writing was a riddle, but the riddle held meaning, like a familiar scent you can’t recall, or a word you know but can’t remember. This riddle, it held meaning, Sh’elo knew it, but where had she seen it before? Where had she heard it before? Perhaps more meditation will clear her mind, block out the distractions that were the sub-Shilo’s.

SHIMOTO
AGF-l7_vbTmuAABwaq4cGZcRNxKPzpi0dGzdpsYWDws900-c-k-c0xffffffff-no-rj-mo.png

Shimoto was wondering what would happen when the clock hit zero, but then, she felt a presence appear behind her. Instincts took over, both the Shilo and Gabrielle parts were put on high alert, but it was the latter part that made Shimoto attack. Whipping around, Shimoto only saw the figure before going straight for the head. The first of her hardlight knives was driven into the stalker's chin, going through the mouth and into the brain. The second knife went through the person's left eye, sliding straight through the eyeball, threading through the narrow hole that led from the eye socket to the brain.

Somehow, two knives to the head weren't enough to make the body stop twitching, so Shimoto continued her assault. Grabbing the person who suddenly appeared behind her by the head, she drove her knee into the knife embedded in their eye, driving it deeper in. Shimoto then flung the body into the floor as hard as she could, head first, brought her foot down on the person's neck with a sickening crunch. Just to really make sure they were dead, Shimoto deployed the spike hidden in the heel of her boot and stabbed it into where the heart should be. Wiping the metal spike off on the corpse and retracting the spike, Shimoto breathed a sigh as she stood on top of the figure, "God f###ing dammit! That what you f###ing get for sneaking up on me like that."

Before Shimoto had the opportunity to double check that the stalker was dead, the clock chime sounded, piercing the air. Normally, loud noises didn’t bother the woman, but the clock was impossibly loud, chiming seventeen times before it finally stopped. For the next couple of minutes, Shimoto’s ears would definitely be ringing, but it didn’t stop her from noticing the grandfather clock that was revealed by the energy attack of one hyper aggressive Chilo.

Nevermind the infinite wallpaper, the grandfather clock seemed to draw the attention of Shimoto in. From where she stood, she managed to make out the words on the clock. Mumbling them to herself, she only thought of one name, and she almost cursed it, "Lazarus..." It was by instinct that she said it. It was definitely Gabrielle who contributed this obsession of the Marine Chronomancer. Shimoto tried to think outside of Lazarus, but every line seemed to pull the man back into her mind.

”Time is slayed” - Lazarus was Time Incarnate, and he’d died...but before that...Chronos died and gave up his title to Lazarus. Time is dead with a wheel’s click - Chronos is dead, handing off Time to Lazarus...it was like clicking the split button on a stopwatch? This was throwing Gabrielle's instinct in for a loop and was one of the reasons-aside from spite-that Shimoto wanted to refuse Lazarus as a consideration, but then there was the next line, ”For time to live, the clock must stop” - Lazarus was stuck in a cycle of life and death, never truly moving forward or truly aging, all to maintain the fabric of Time. Say his name to stop the drip - The final line was the question to be answered, and no matter how hard Shimoto thought, Lazarus wouldn’t leave her mind. Lazarus would be the one to break the cycle? Hell if she knew. It definitely wasn’t the answer to the riddle, but it was all whom she could think of, "F### you, Lazarus, you goody-two-shoes...F### you, Gabrielle, you horny sl#t...get your stupid fantasies out of my head..."

  • The moment the name left Shimoto's mouth, another loud chime came to signal that she'd gotten the answer incorrect. Worse still, the chime had some how managed to be louder than the others before. This was not a system in which you could just list of names until you got it correct. The punishment would get worse with each wrong answer, so you would have to be certain if you were going to say it, or risk possibly permanently damaging your own hearing, as well as the hearing of those around you. Or, if all of you got it really wrong, death -- probably.

When it came to Shirose that nobody seemed particularly excited to really get into the business and were only doing so out of necessary, she understood how; they were taken out of their worlds like her, and they wanted to get back. However, that did not seem to halt her thinking; her mind was flowing with thoughts about the riddle, as well as a possible answer. One thought, however, seemed to capture her mind a little more than the other thoughts, especially as she saw it a little fitting as an answer. One of them was about Aion, a deity. However, for now this was all but a mere thought, as that name was no more than something she had discovered from a book back in her old home.

Then as she was continuing to think back to her memories, Shimoto was suddenly triggered, then she proceeded to murder Red out of apparent pure paranoia. To her, it seemed a little excessive of a reaction, given all she did ever was to sneak up on her and...insult her? If anything, those were more misdemeanors than something she would get really riled up over, no matter if it were to happen to her, or anyone else nearby. No, it was Shimoto's reaction that turned her wary of the Asian counterpart, due to how she appeared volatile to the young vigilante. However, there was a small second thought.

Upbringing.

The—

TICK.

"Egh?!"

Shocked by the sudden increase in clock volume, Shirose covered her ears, and apparently, that was what truly threw her off her thinking game. Not just because of the fact that Shimoto's blurting caused a sharper volume in the chimes, but also because a wrong answer gave the group especially harsh punishments. As quickly as the first "tick" came, she quickly covered her ears, this time by pushing the palms of her hands against them instead of plugging the earholes with her fingers. She then looked at Ann, then at OG, then at Shimoto.

"What in God was that?!"

Screen Shot 2019-10-18 at 10.54.34.png
After Yoshilokage and his inter-dimensional selves angered the clock deity, it retaliated by attempting to deafen them with a series of ear-splitting chimes. Even with his hands clamped around his ears, Yoshilokage felt like his ear drums were going to pop like a young woman's cherry on prom night.

Seventeen chimes passed and the torture ended as the clock's ticking returned at a less ear-hemorrhaging volume. Yoshilokage retracted his hands from his ears and realised with an involuntary exasperated gasp that he had been holding his breath. After taking a moment to maintain his breathing, Yoshilokage cast his gaze over to where his other selves had began to congregate. Inexplicably, the grandfather clock responsible for the racket was now standing at the far end of the room.

Upon getting closer, Yoshilokage discovered the source of the commotion, a passage inscribed into the clock's face. "A riddle." Yoshilokage hissed. He loathed riddles, if he were to learn one that he could not answer, it would undoubtedly keep him up at night. Now he had seen it, it was too late.

One of the Shilos had unwittingly uttered an incorrect answer, and the clock responded by bringing the pain with another thunderous chime. Yoshilokage gritted his teeth. This wouldn't do, this riddle was standing between him and his peaceful life, it had to be solved.

giphy.gif
The time on the clock was 7:29. The second hand moved but the hour and minute hand did not. This suggested that the exact time of 7:29 was of relevance to the answer and that the clock probably wouldn't be worth much at an antique auction.

'Say his name to stay the drip', and the fact that the incorrect-answer-chime only triggered as soon as Shimoto spoke the name 'Lazarus' was telling that the answer to the riddle was someone's name, and apparently that name wasn't Lazarus.

Then it hit him. The objectively 100% correct answer.

"His name is... GRANDFATHER CLOCK !!"

Yoshilokage struck a flamboyant pose as he revealed his deduction.

"Time is slayed" says the clock - the clock was the subject.

Time is dead with a wheel's click - as the second hand continued to turn, cog wheels inside the clock were ticking.

For time to live the clock must stop; say his name to stay the drip - the time on the clock would not proceed past 7:29 until 'his' name was said, and grandfather happened to be a masculine noun.

Sometimes, Yoshilokage thought, it hurt to be this hip.

  • Just as the clock had chimed for the Shilo who had given the incorrect answer, the clock, too, chimed when Yoshilokage spoke for he was -- in fact -- incorrect. The loud gong like sound all but shook the foundations of the room. However, on the body of the clock appeared eight perfectly identical squares with the words: "Read a fucking book!" written in delicate lettering underneath them. Each box was the perfect size to fit a single letter.

  • "Hm?" Red felt something off.

    And suddenly...

The Eastern Shilo whipped around, and then stabbed a knife into the Devil's chin. It entered her mouth as it pierced through, before it reached her brain.
"KwHt!!!" Red made an incomprehensible pained noise.
And then, the Eastern Shilo stabbed a second knife that went through Red's left eyes, before it reached her brain once again.
"fHmMk!!!" the heavily-injured Devil made an incomprehensible noise again, as her body twitched.
But the attacks from the Eastern Shilo were not enough. The attacker drove her knee, which pushed the knife deeper into Red's left eye socket.
    ...
Then flung the Devil's body hard onto the floor, which laid her down. Before the Eastern Shilo stomped, with great force, on her neck. The sound that the attack had produced was horrifying. It was an ear-breaking crunch. The attack all happened swiftly. Red's body movements had stopped, but the Eastern Shilo had to make sure that the Devil is dead. The Eastern Shilo deployed a strike into the heart's location with a hidden spiked-weapon in the heel of her boot.

"Hmm..." A familiar voice spoke behind the Eastern Shilo.

    "Hold on, something feels... Weird."

A few meters away from the Eastern Shilo, she appeared. But this time, she finally had a white T-shirt underneath her bronze-colored jacket, which covered her previously nakedly-exposed torso. And wore a pair of dark green rubber shoes with white stripe patterns.
"Something doesn't feel right... No, no, no, it isn't from your attack... Changes? Hmm... Hold on." Red was talking to the Eastern Shilo again.
It was very unexplainable, but there was something that was bothering the Devil more. She was deeply-thinking about something. Red pulled out a smartphone from a pocket of her bronze-colored jacket, and started using it.
"Hm, I've been nerf'd. F*ck you, Night." The Devil mumbled, and mentioned someone's name. "Sorry. I just checked my CS on RPN to verify if something had changed with me. Which yes, somethin' did." She explained to the Eastern Shilo, as she had shifted her attention back.
Red's formerly dead body, which laid rest on the floor, was gone without a trace. Not even a speck of blood anywhere.
"Anyway... Crucifixion is still the worst for me." The Devil expressed. "Any style of it... All are banned in Hell."
Horrifying wings had suddenly grew from her back. Its overall appearance perfectly described the word 'Hellish'.
"Hmm... Someone is summoning me." Red whispered. "Birb... That stupid child."
"またね, loser!" The Devil said to the Eastern Shilo, before she jumpe--

There was a noise of a gruesome crack, which was followed by a loud thud.

She failed to break through the ceiling which cracked her head open.
"ZeWo bEhFs" Red spoke gibberish as she laid on the ground. Again.

Shilo Ann Saga

Two chimes of deafening porportions: two painful revelations of pure agony, and the clock was being snarky. Ann strifled a inward curse from bellowing from her lips as she watched the imbecliles blurt out answers without consideration for the consequence. One of the said imbeclies was the male Shilo from earlier who had, perhaps inevitably, struck a pose as he proclaimed his "100 percent" correct inane hogwash of an answer. The other was of course the eastern girl, who had of course gotten the answer wrong but to her credit, at least she put some effort in the answer unlike the male Shilo whom Ann was starting to think was a buffoon. As for Ann herself, she was never one for riddles, and she didn't bother trying to find out an answer. 1. Most likely she would be wrong anyway. 2. Like previously mentioned she was never one for riddles. 3. Bystander effect. At this point she herself was utterly useless in this endeavor and there was no point in maximizing and parading that uselessness for the other Shilos to judge. She had no doubt that the other Shilos were judging every one of their counterparts. If she was doing it. Then there's a high chance the others were doing it too.

"That. My friend. Is our punishment for getting the riddle wrong. And from what I have garnered, the punishments will only get more and more severe the longer we are here."

Ann didn't much like to think about her current predictament. It was best not to, that would lead to panicking in the future. So she stilled herself. Hopefully that answer was enough for the Ruby Rose look-alike in front of her.

She turned toward her group (so far) consisting of OG Shilo, Frank, and Hairgel, and said,
"I'm not one for riddles, unfortunately. But you three do seem like the thinking type, so if any of you can garner an preferably educated guess. That would be much appreciated. Or you can let the baboons figure it out. Do what you will."

"I don't partically care."

The Undead Shilo flinched as the clock's punishment got louder and louder, each wrong answer making things worse for everyone. She walks out of the shadowed corner and address's the group of apparently reasonably sane people that had formed.
"Could we try to brainstorm together before we go deaf?" She studied the clock face, but the Loud chime's and ringing in her ears as a result serving to distract her from coming to an answer.
When the magic started to happen, she stared at the boxes floating around the clock, quickly reads them, and sarcastically mumbles. "Oh yeah, I'll get right on that with the NO BOOKS in here. Stupid Magic."

Suki Shilo Saga
Suki was in agony. Nothing around her registered as she felt nothing but internal pain as her eardrums ruptured from the intense chiming, and her hearing quickly faded. She only heard ringing. The searing heat of an energy attack didn't register, despite passing by her form, nor did anything else, as two more chimes kicked in. The goat held her head in her hands, and shrieked. Those with intact hearing would only hear the sounds of her suffering as she lay prone on the floor, shaking as she fought to recover.

A few minutes passed, and she shakily stood, blood running out from under her long ears, and her balance obviously off as she attempted to stand. How could those around her be so like her, and be this stupid? She only knew one thing, however. Shimoto had likely been the one responsible, uttering nothing but the phrase "Clock" over and over and over again. Suki stumbled over, her hands hidden in her kimono as she moved closer to the woman.

"Help......me....."

Suki barely managed to say, her raspy voice, already warped and damaged as it was by her scars, even more distorted by her inability to hear her own voice. Her only eye looked convincing, as it did display a modicum of fear....though, it was only a half truth, as she had other intentions, should Shimoto actually attempt to help...

Pegalo

Pegalo was angry that she did not break the wall. She wanted to prove how she isn’t just a little Whitney crybaby. She continued to ram her head into the wall only for it to fail more.
“WHATEVER! THIS IS RIGGED!”
She flapped her wings and flew away as she ignored the sound of the chimes. Her voice was so obnoxious and annoying that even the sound of the chimes could not sound as bad as her voice. She looked around and decided who to pester next. That’s when she saw Benedict-lo.
She flew over to him as she overheard her name from earlier.

“Benedict-lo Huh? That reminds me of an actor named Benedict Cumberbatch. He is a good actor and all that, but I think the movies he is in are really bland and dull. Avengers isn’t very good. I think it is overrated and Doctor Strange is just kind of cringe. Do you want my expert opinion on a good movie? I don’t care what your answer is I’m saying it anyway. You see, John Wick is probably the bests movie every made. The violence and action is really good. I don’t care about the story though. Stories are stupid. Action is where it’s at. Trust me I know more about movies than you do.”

Abilhe Saga

The eco fueled Abilhe just gave a long sigh and a facepalm at various Shilos gathered around the room. It wasn't long before the noise got extremely loud and was getting louder unless someone solved the riddle soon.

Abilhe grabbed her ears and winced "Turn the DAMN THING OFF!"

It was only then she noticed Suki's ears were bleeding and her eco reserves were limited to how much was around her at the moment.

Sh'elo was so close, but she would have gotten it faster if SOME PEOPLE didn't decide to be smartasses and just guess willy nilly without being smart about it. Sh'elo made the final deductions, the clock was at 7:29, which is 24 hour time was 1929, which was the year that the very book this quote came from, Willaim Faulkner's book, The Sound and The Fury, "SILENCE EVERYONE!" The Jedi raised her voice once again, "If you imbeciles are done squabbling and getting our eardrums destroyed, I have come to the conclusion of what the answer is. The quote says, "Say his name." Or something like that, 'he' is the author of a book that has these quotes in it, his name is, William Faulkner." Sh'elo said with utmost certainty, she couldn't be wrong, she wasn't wrong.

Shimoto ( QizPizza QizPizza ) and Benedictlo ( Benedict Cucumberpatch Benedict Cucumberpatch ) just had to ruin it, didn't they?
I flinch a bit, and land on my back as the clock's ticks become louder. I didn't even see the riddle, but everyone else appears to.
I grunt and stagger to my feet. Right after the warning to NOT say clock.
I turn to the original Shilo ( Nightwisher Nightwisher ), and wave to get her attention. After a couple waves, I point right at Benedict-lo and Shimoto, and make a punching gesture.
Please get it... damn my inability to talk.
I get up to stare at the riddle a bit longer, and... hrm.
This doesn't make any sense, at least in the 42nd millennium. This seems like a 2nd millennium thing.
As I stare at the riddle, I overhear a couple wrong answers. Shimoto or whatever her name was said Lazarus, which just made the clock angrier. Okay, I can't blame her but I'm still about to sock her in the face the first chance I get.
Then that idiot in the suit ( Caffeine Freak Caffeine Freak ) said... grandfather clock?
GRANDFATHER CLOCK?!
I flinch again from the loud chime, and turn to OG Shilo, and point at the suited moron before making a punching motion in his direction. I swear, if they do NOT shut up...

"Say his name." Or something like that, 'he' is the author of a book that has these quotes in it, his name is, William Faulkner."
I overhear that robed Shilo from earlier-She'lo was it? ( Zerulu Zerulu )
William Faulkner.
Please be right, or Emperor help me, I'm going to murder someone.

Sir Benedict Cucumberpatch

Before the end of Pegalos first sentence, Benedict had a grand idea, the power this disgusting winged abomination had was too great to not contain. Benedict pulled out his pistol, “Ah......Greetings, congratulations, you have been promoted to......hostage.” Benedict said calmly as he aimed the pistol at him, “Unless you accept my offer......Choose wisely.”

Pegalo

Pegalo found herself at the end of the barrel to a pistol. She always thought that she would be on the other end of the gun, but she was wrong as usual. However, no one makes her a hostage without the proper equipment.

“Wow. It’s like you’ve never even seen a movie. This isn’t how hostage situations work idiot. How about you come back and try again after watching a real movie like John Wick. You degenerate.”

Benedict-Lo

Benedict cocked an eyebrow as Pegalo tried to form scraps of a civilized conversation, “Ah......If that is your final answer, so be it.” Benedict said before pulling out a giant book. The book had a black leather cover and in gold cursive was labeled, “Correct answers to Sir Benedict’s questions.” Benedict calmly flipped through for a good amount of time as Josh took on his own job, angrily pointing a spoon at the creature. “Ah.....I’m sorry, but that answer is wrong, John Wick is.....not a real movie, just a clever illusion invented by the government to raise future marine snipers, indeed.” Benedict said before closing the book and grabbing a cup of tea, “Ah......care for tea.”

The Team 73 Leader flinched as the chimes continued, trying to block the sound as she covered her ears. Her gaze flicked around the room, looking for who was responsible when her eyes landed upon FClo. Evan’s eyebrows knitted together for a moment as she read the gestures of the masked commander, but the message wasn’t hard to understand. It only took her a moment. Teal eyes turned to Shimoto and Benedict-Lo and then rolled. It was clear that discipline was something that only a few of the Shilos had experienced. Evan gave a nod to the Space Marine, saying that she agreed with whatever he was going to do, but then pointed to herself and shook her head. With the shit that she’d had to deal with before this, she wasn’t about to get in a full out brawl with a pair of simpletons. It was clear that Evan was in more of a mind to just ignore it all.

On top of all of this madness, there was a riddle on the clock. From her point in the room, Evan couldn’t read it nor could she hear it as the other’s muttered it to themselves. To be quite honest, she didn’t really care. This room, though annoying and to some extent painful, was relatively safe. If they were going to come up with a plan or throw around ideas on what this place was, this room was going to be their safest way of doing so. Though, if the other Shilos wanted to work it out she wasn’t going to stop them. Evan crossed her arms over her chest and turned to face Frank though said nothing, her teal eyes gauging his facial expression. If this was odd for her, she couldn’t imagine what it was like for him. Seeing multiple different forms of his friend and partner, ranging from a literal dog to some flirt with pink hair.

In the background, she heard someone talking and it took her only a moment to realize that the person was addressing her. Evan turned her head to find Ann complaining about their surroundings and those within the room. The assassin couldn’t blame the paler version of herself. It had been pretty bullshit, and some of the Shilos were not helping the situation despite how much they thought they might be. Were they even trying? If she herself was uninterested in what was going on, how hard could the others really be trying at this point? Of course, Evan knew about the multiverse and had seen far worse than this sort of thing, as well as far stranger -- to some extent. Being trapped in a room with other versions of herself wasn’t exactly surprising as much as it was just uncomfortable.

Evan scoffed at Ann dramatic read of the situation. “I doubt we’ll die. More likely just be harshly punished by the chimes again.” As if on cue the chimes rang out even louder than before due to someone’s incorrect guess at the riddle. The raven haired woman clenched her jaw and flinched at the sound, raising her hands to try and muffle what she could. She shot a look at Ann as the other woman suggested that she, Frank, and FClo step up to solve the riddle. “You’re all Shilos, you should be able to figure it out just fine,” Evan retorted, projecting her annoyance with the situation into her tone. If she was going to solve the riddle it wasn’t going to be because someone else suggested or told her to do so.

Yoshilokage adjusted his suit jacket while looking off somewhere else after Sh'elo gave the apparently correct answer. "Ah... well, that was my second guess." He muttered, not deigning to reveal that his actual second guess was, in fact, Agatha Christie.

The grandfather clock promptly disappeared, and in its place stood a rather ominous doorway. Yoshilokage made sure that a good number of Shilos filed through before stepping through himself. Unfortunately for his eye sockets, the room Yoshilokage found himself in was blindingly white. However, just as he was about to criticize whoever created this place for their taste in interior decor, the room began to shift into something else.

What Yoshilokage had not been expecting to see again in his lifetime was the all too familiar scene of his father's study. His father sat, still alive, in his chair behind his desk, wearing the same expression as always. In a lot of ways, Yoshilokage had preferred the blindingly white room from before. Where he had expected to see himself, instead sat another familiar figure. Yoshilokage glanced sideways at Nymph, then back at the young girl in the chair.

He already knew what was about to happen.

The scene ended after a few minutes or an eternity. Yoshilokage hadn't really been watching. His mind was somewhere else, and his hand was over the left side of his chest.

Shilo Ann Saga

Finally at least someone got the answer right! And it was surprisingly the jedi. Though how the Jedi knew the answer was anyone's guess: didn't she live in a galaxy far far away where you know, Earth and its numerous works of art does not exist? Looks like someone up in the heavens made a mistake. No matter. There was now a doorway with no door, Just blackness. She hesitated for a moment. Then walked through. The sudden transition from black to white was blinding and disorientation filled her. For a moment she panicked thinking that she had somehow been tricked into walking out into the dreaded sunlight. But the moment passed and she realized that she was in a white room where --- the reaction was immediate. She hissed and sprung away. Borys was sitting there, Her father, the one who had beat her, the one who had forced her to study endlessly into the night. Fear overtook her but the fear was quickly overcome by a deep seated boiling hate. It took all her willpower not to pounce on Borys where he sat and rip out his throat with her fangs. All her willpower. All her determination. Everything. Painstakingly she turned away from her father, her back burning and prickling as if Borys had stripped her of her ring and was now burning her with the lethal rays of the sun that she had so enjoyed when she was young. As a result she was not entirely privy to Nymphs own experience with her phantom father though she did hear a little of what was said but her mind was on other things. And when she turned back around, Borys was gone. But this was not her father, it had been Nymphs father. And all at once, she knew what this room was and she hated it all the more.

Pink "Shilo" Sapphire
The loud chiming shook Sapphire to her very gem as the consequences for saying “clock” finally became clear. It hurt, but they weren’t dead. Hmm, maybe Ann and her had overreacted some, assuming that it could kill them. A clock was now visible in the room, a riddle written on its face. Sapphire didn’t have the slightest idea whatsoever on what the answer could be, but she was fairly certain that one of her fellow Shilos would have some idea. Chronos, nothing but more painful ringing. Grandfather clock—Sapphire actually thought this answer was a valid one, though some of the others didn’t seem to agree—more ringing still. After the second answer, a few pink flowers burst up near Sapphire’s feet in annoyance. For being the same person, this group had no ability to work together. Some of them were being outright distracting or unhelpful, while others were simply labeling the former group as loud and rowdy and trying to disassociate themselves so much from them to the point they weren’t doing anything but scoffing. Finally Jedi managed to get the answer right, the answer to the riddle was the author of some Earth book she’d never heard of before. She walked through the doorway into the room along with the rest of the group, wincing slightly at the change of lighting, but otherwise stood unreacting until she witnessed the scene in front of her. Sapphire didn’t recognize this man, she was made, not born. But something about him was...discomforting, like staying in a room alone with this man wouldn’t result in anything good. As the knife came down on the girl’s skin, she grimaced, turning her head away slightly but not being able to entirely look away out of a deeply buried morbid curiosity. When the scene ended, Sapphire quietly looked to Nymph, sighing softly.
