The upside, however, to the chimes was that once they were finished everything else was much quieter. Of course, there was a ringing in her ears that reminded her a bit of that one time she’d been unable to protect her ears from the sound of a grenade blast. But that was significantly easier to live with than the collective voices of her other selves and the ungodly sound of the ticking.
Though, something new caught her eye. Amidst the sound of the chimes, a clock had sprouted up out of nowhere. She was too far away from it, however, to see what time it told or anything about the clock at all. Evan clenched her jaw, shooting a glance at Frank to see if he was alright but also to gauge his expression. I’m really not liking this experience. She thought, trying to project her thoughts to him to make it easier for him to read.[/div][/div] -
- Interactions: N/A | Mentions: Yoshilokage ( Caffeine Freak )Nymph’s gaze flicked up to Yoshilokage as he called her 'little girl'. She’d been called worse things, so it’s not like that affected her in anyway. In fact, she kind of liked it. However, as he went on to tell her not to touch him, a part of her wanted to rebel against it. Why not, after all? The murderous glint in his eye only pushed her to try even harder. She hated that look, it reminded her of her father. But the clock was ruining all of the fun! She couldn’t concentrate on flirting, or even pissing someone off, as it only grew louder when the male, older her said the word ‘clock’ once more. “Jesus, fuck, make it stop.” Well, at least one of them was paying enough attention. They were down to two...so now what?
The ticking only got louder as a few of the Shilos ignored the warning and continued saying the word. That was the only explanation at least. Nymph couldn’t hear the words over the sound of the ticking, but it was definitely getting louder. And then in only got worse. The ticking, which was now loud enough that Nymph could basically feel it against her chest like a bass drum, was completely drowned out by the sound of seventeen much louder chimes. It sounded like she’d pressed her ear to a gong as someone else hit it as loud as they could. Her hands pressed firmer against her ears as she crouched down. She stayed on her feet, but her legs were pressed to her chest as she balled up, like getting lower to the ground would somehow save her from the sound. She remained there even after the chiming stopped. - The portal in which Red Shilo appeared from actually never happened, as each Shilo came here in the exact same way including her. However, Amon’s arm, as well as the can of Heineken, appeared with her because why the Hell not. However, it couldn’t possibly have been an illusion, since Kirk didn’t list that as a power, you idiot. So it merely just didn’t happen.
Just as everyone would be able to tell by now, when Yoshilokage said the word clock, before the Jedi’s warning came, after just two seconds the ticking grew louder.
As Suki pulled out a knife to tear into the wallpaper, she would find the exact same wallpaper underneath. Just as old, but just as smooth as the top layer. If she continued to cut, she would only find more and more layers of the same wallpaper. And if she would look away, only to look back at the wall, whatever progress she’d made in peeling the wallpaper away would have gone back to normal.
Pagelo would also find something interesting with the wall. Where she was planning on ramming her head through, despite how hard she hit the wall, she wouldn’t be able to make a dent, let alone a hole. This was not a wall that anyone would be able to tear down.
There was a cracking sound as Chilo’s Double Sunday attack hit the wall, the wallpaper burning away from the heat of the energy blast. As the smoke cleared, however, all that could be seen underneath the burnt paper was layers, upon layers, upon layers of more wallpaper that looked exactly like the top layer. Just as Suki had found out moments before. What was more odd, however, was that with each ticking of the clock the wallpaper seemed to grow back layer by layer until it was perfectly fine once more, not even a scorch mark to show for the Saiyan's energy blast.
Two Shilos, Benedict-Lo and Shimoto, worked together to further the loudness of the ticking. First, Benedict-Lo stated her first ‘clock’ -- which meant the ticking got louder after a second -- and before she could get his second one in, Shimoto started her chanting. This, of course, meant the ticking reached its loudest point the moment the first ‘clock’ left her mouth. The ticking continued at its loudest point, however, as Shimoto continued her chanting of the word. Of course, Benedict-Lo said the word three more times within this time frame.
Once the chanting of the word was done, the last 'ck' of the last ‘clock’ leaving Shimoto’s mouth an ear splitting clock chime sounded, louder than any ticking. It sounded again, then again. Seventeen times in total to punish those who had decided to be overzealous with the use of the word.
After the seventeen chimes, the ticking seemed significantly quieter to some, if not all of you, considering how loud the punishment had been. Though, the ticking wasn’t any quieter than it had been after the Shilos had reached zero. One thing in the room, however, changed. One the wall which Chilo had blasted, in the center, was the grandfather clock. The time on the clock was 7:29, and though the second hand was ticking by, the minute and hour hand never moved. Those of you closest to it, or with superhuman sight, would be able to see writing on its face.
Tick, tick, tock
Tick, tick, tock
“Time is slayed”, says the clock
Tock, tock, tick
Tock, tock, tick
Time is dead with a wheel’s click
Tick, tock, top
Tick, tock, top
For time to live, the clock must stop
Tock, tick, tip
Tock, tick, tip
Say his name to stay the drip
