<span style="font-family:Mirza;"><span style="font-size:36px;">Requirements</span></span>
<span style="font-family:Mirza;"><span style="font-size:18px;">☆ You don't really need to have your character sheet in fancy bbcodes, but please use tabs to keep things neat. ☆Along with the basic requirements, you can also add in your own categories ☆ I'm not particularly picky with names. You can go with real names like Edward or John if you'd like, or make up your own name. ☆ Characters must be age 15 and up. Keep in mind though, that older characters may be more proficient in magic. ☆ Pic (anime or semi-realistic drawing) + a short description of the character for appearance. ☆ It's completely fine if your character is shy, aloof, or just generally more on the passive side. These traits allows character development, after all. But, I can't accept characters who are just plain antisocial and rude to other people. The mission that the characters are sent on is a </span></span><span style="font-family:Mirza;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><em>team</em></span></span><span style="font-family:Mirza;"><span style="font-size:18px;"> mission for a reason. ☆ Keep in mind when making a backstory that Onasat is isolated from the rest of the world. Also, please put the character's reason to apply to go on the mission/reason for accepting an offer to join. ☆ Possessions would be what your character is bringing along on the journey. The amount of things should be no more than what fits in a bag. Be nice to your characters and don't starve them. ☆ Your character does </span></span><span style="font-family:Mirza;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>not </strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Mirza;"><span style="font-size:18px;">necessarily have to be a magician. They can be magic-less people if you'd like, as long as they have the combat prowess suited for the mission at hand, but most characters should still have some magical capabilities. So, if you see one or two other people already having the magic-less setting, please make your character a magician. ☆ Characters do not need to have a weapon. ☆☆☆ </span></span><span style="font-family:Mirza;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>IMPORTANT</strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Mirza;"><span style="font-size:18px;">: All the characters should be decent in their skills of magic, but no godmodding will be tolerated. Each character are allowed to be proficient in </span></span><span style="font-family:Mirza;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>ONE </strong></span></span><span style="font-family:Mirza;"><span style="font-size:18px;">subcategory of magic, listed in the Lore tab. In addition to that, they can dabble (about on a novice level) in one other subcategory. For example, a character can be proficient in illusions, but is also learning water magic. Also, try and keep a balance between the number of elemental magic users + psychic magic users. ☆ Aside from the restrictions of the type/number of magic the character can learn, the rest is up to you. You can come up with different techniques or spells that your character may know, as long as they aren't too powerful and capable of disintegrating your enemies in one blow. If you need references to what I mean by techniques, think Naruto and their jutsus. Put these in "fighting style", along with a description of how your character prefers to fight (how proactive they are, their strengths/weaknesses, etc) ☆ Each character needs to include something in their character sheet. See the overview tab for this. ☆ The personality and bio sections must both be at least two decent paragraphs. The magic and fighting style sections can contain bullet points, but must be described in detail. ☆☆☆ After making your character, either me or SilverBlack will PM you and engage in a short roleplay scene with you. This is both to get a sense of your style, and to see if your character needs any changes.</span></span>

Seffre Binel

Kashuu.Kiyomitsu.240.1857960.jpg
The Basics
Name

Seffre "Seff" Binel

Gender

Male

Age

19

Height

5''3'/162 cm

Sexuality

Bisexual

Appearance

The most noticeable thing about Seffre is his short stature- something he is quite self-conscious about. Maybe it's due to this that he takes time to make the rest of his exterior as refreshing as possible. Seffre's dark brown hair is neatly tied into a ponytail, and he always wears a green magician robe. His face is free of any youthful pimples and other marks, courtesy of his hygienic habit, and his crisp green eyes holds a certain serenity to them that would contradict with the young man's skittish behaviors.

In Depth
Personality

Being a member of Onasat's most trusted magician guild at such a young age, it's easy to imagine that Seffre would hold an air of confidence and radiate power. That is, sadly, untrue. Perhaps being part of the magician guild is the exact reason that Seffre is a bit of a bumbling young man. He desperately wishes to uphold the guild's reputation like it is his sole duty. As if thinking that every word and action accounts to that responsibility, Seffre acts carefully after thorough thinking in his daily life and social interactions. More often than not though, he would immediately regret anything that he does, resulting in his senseless babbling, and then a string of apologies.

Aside from his embarrassing attempts to act respectably, Seffre is typically an amiable person. He is kind to friends, and friendly and polite to strangers. Even if someone wrongs him, he would smile and wave it off. His little bouts of indolence when he's in private also contributes to his mellow image. Surprisingly though, despite of his awkward and placid semblence, Seffre has a much more passionate side to him. Seffre just has occasional outbursts in which he abandons all thought and logical reasoning to charge on ahead to fulfill a goal. Soon after these outbursts though, he'll regret his reckless behavior and enter a swirl of sadness. He is always quick to cheer up though after these events.

Backstory

Seffre was born to a family of magicians. Both of his parents were part of the magician guild, and his younger sister was also found to be a prodigy in lightning magic. Unlike the rest of his family, Seffre didn't seem to have a knack for magic. He would fumble at the easiest of elemental spells, and his lack of confidence only served to worsen his abilities in psychic magic. The only type of magic that he seemed to be able to perform moderately well was the easiest telekinesis magic. Despite witnessing his lack of talent in other areas of magic, Seffre decided to pursue being a magician, and focused solely on perfecting his telekinesis.

At the age of eighteen, Seffre's father recommended him to join the magician guild. Soon enough, Seffre found out that his father's recommendation was based not in his skills, but simply on the fact that they wanted to add a friendly face so that the residents of Onasat could gain a sense of affinity to the guild. Though slightly disappointed, Seffre wasn't discouraged. He continued to practice his magic, so that he could one day gain the approval of his fellow magicians.

Seffre's chance came in a surprising form- a mission to save Onasat. Most of him thought that he wouldn't be selected to participate even if he applied, but there was still a glimmer of hope in him that he would be picked. And, sure enough, his father once again recommended him. Just like the previous time, it was not based on his skill in magic, but rather so that Seffre could serve almost as a guide for the rest of the team members with the knowledge of the real world bestowed to him by the guild and the government.
Techniques
Magic & Weapon

Seffre is most proficient in telekinesis magic, having focused on training in that area since he was young. Out of curiosity and desire for a (possibly) furry companion, Seffre also learned summoning magic. To his delight, a brown, furry creature resembling a small bat popped out on his first attempt. Seffre named the creature Hoop, and the two quickly grew fond of each other. Unfortunately, due to Seffre's unstable and considerably weak magic, he is unable to keep Hoop in his company. Hoop himself is also not a formidable ally in battles, both due to his small size and his summoner's magic.

In order to channel his magic more efficiently, Seffre carries a plain, wooden staff with him. It is a portable size that he could easily stuff into his sash.

Fighting Style

Seffre have trained his telekinesis to the point where he can easily lift larger objects, such as boulders, with relative ease. At the same time, he grants these objects with fairly swift mobility. He prefers to keep at a safe distance away from the enemy and continuously chuck rocks or sharp objects at their heads. When it comes to close combat, Seffre wouldn't stand much of a chance. He is not physically strong nor particularly agile. If it comes down to it though, he can be surprisingly quick on his feet.

With his weak magic, Hoop cannot participate in battle. Seffre instead uses Hoop as a scout or even a spy sometimes.
Misc.
Possessions

? A staff used to channel magic

? A pouch of water that is a little smaller than the size of a head

? Several canned foods

? Two sets of change of clothes (consisting of light robes and underwear)

? A notebook filled with information regarding the mission

Erika R. Lum

Fundamentals

Name:

Erika Rae Lum

Gender + Age + Role:

♀ | 17 | Healer

Height:

She’s the shortest one in her family standing at a height of 5' (152 cm).

Appearance:

Going against her parent's wishes to keep her natural black hair she was born with, Erika bleached and dyed her hair apricot pink- which is nearly done fading out. As a big believer in self-expression, the young lady will do anything to match her appearance to the ever-so-changing but ideal image she imagines and wishes to have. She enjoys dressing up in any outfit that strikes her interest, rarely caring about how people may view her for she is too busy trying to love her plain appearance alongside her dolled up one. Nonetheless, she takes great pride in her scarlet red eyes, a dignifying trait of the Lum family.

Sexuality:

Homosexual (ノ*゜▽゜*) - Gay to the max but hides that fact from her...very 'traditional' family.

Behind the Name

Personality:

Known as the Lum child that is on the tip of falling into the rebellious phase, Erika is anything but lackadaisical. In fact, she does her best to follow her family's wishes- doing her chores as told and running errands whenever possible. But if she deems anything her family requests her to do as unnecessary or unethical- she'll refuse to carry out the task and try to persuade or suggest them with another way to handle it.

The minute Erika is out of her family's peripheral, she'll break out into a giddy bubble of enthusiasm that fawns over witches and poets. She absolutely adores the little things in life, the moments that most people would take for granted. Aside from spending her free time sky gazing or watching how a squirrel busily buries an acorn into the ground, she cherishes every moment she doubles over and laughs with her loved ones or even just quietly walking with them- especially calm moments where everyone would just sit in comfortable silence. But don't get mistaken, for Erika gets crazy about the seasonal festivals and annual holidays as well. She would be the first one to decorate the house inside and out with her homemade crafts, inviting her friends and neighbors once getting the 'ok' from her parents.

Although she has a generally optimistic and open personality, Erika is the quietest and shyest one among her siblings. She would watch on the sidelines as her brothers would show off their talents and make their name known to the public in order to build a fine reputation for themselves and the family. Unlike them, she has a difficult time trying to talk to strangers. If she really wanted to befriend someone, it would take all her willpower to summon her courage and throw away her fear of looking like a fool in order to interact with them.

Her Reason for Joining

Backstory:

Growing up into a potion selling family, Erika was constantly in awe as she watched them run their business. Her brothers would venture out of town to seek out specific ingredients while her aunt and uncle created glass jars and bottles for the potions that her parents would brew. These potions would serve as remedies to cure illnesses ranging from colds to blazing fevers or simply revitalizing healthy skin.

But her brothers wouldn't "just" venture out. They would always come back, retelling their adventures of using their elemental or psychic powers whilst their aunt and uncle would be busy contacting their cousins and other relatives to talk about business matters or just to check up on them. Her parents? Well, they are always in the lab/kitchen, walking out of it to fetch out books from the library to view their handwritten recipes. To sum it up, the whole family would use their powers to contribute to their trademark products. When the Lum family isn't busy making potions, the shop is obviously closed and the house is packed with everyone lounging around the house and relaxing with Irvin, the family cat.

But Erika grew suffocated as she got frustrated about the fact that she couldn't truly be herself in front of her family. She would get discomforted every time they dismissed homosexuals or plastered on a smile to such customers when they were actually a bit uncomfortable with them. When she overheard the news of the magicians trying to recruit people, Erika couldn't help but interpret it as a chance to have a safe place where she wouldn't disappoint or confront her family. Plus if she joined the guild then that would certainly give a good sparkle to the Lum Family's reputation, right? So there she was, accepted into the guild that luckily needed more healers under their wing.

Abilities & Misc.

Magic & Weapon:

Erika discovered her power when she had been distraught over stepping on a perfectly fine flower. When she had practically thrown herself to the ground to cradle the poor thing, her overwhelming emotion that wished she hadn't hurt such a fine creation bloomed into an energy that made her hands glow the moment they touched the flower, gradually reverting the flower back to its original healthy form.

Thinking she specialized in elemental earth magic, Erika would excitedly join her brothers on their adventures so she could test out her abilities. Alas, her various efforts to throw stones or move the ground failed as her amused brothers cheered her on anyway. After a few more adventures, Erika sulked when she realized she wasn't progressing at all and irritatingly snapped at her brothers when they kept using their powers when they weren't even used to help them find the ingredients they were supposed to bring back home. In the end one of them accidentally hit a roaming stray cat with a fairly large stone, shrinking at the sight of his glaring sister who had seen his mistake. Erika immediately tended to the poor creature, carefully stroking it to comfort it while she thought of what she could do to ease its pain when her hands glowed again, closing up the wound on the cat's body. It was then it dawned upon Erika that she didn't have earth magic but healing powers instead. She stared at her hands whilst her brothers enthusiastically congratulated her, impressed by her skills. On top of that, they learned that Erika was the first person in their family to be a healer- automatically making her the favored one in the household for the rest of that week.

As she continued to use her magic whenever possible, Erika could heal headaches and sprained ankles aside from small cuts and bruises. But she has yet to mend broken bones, tend to internal organs or damaged nerves. Of course, she can't do anything about souls and plants that have perished.

Submagic:

In addition to her healing power, Erika also has the ability to dabble in creating illusions thanks to her great imagination. She can conjure images of in/animate objects, animals, and plants in order to scare away her enemies with the most frightening scenarios she can come up. However her illusions can only last for up to three minutes and they cannot be larger than the size of an adult bear and/or longer than two meters or else she will drain her energy and black out. She cannot create illusions of humans or great landscapes.

Possessions:

❁A large book that contains all of her notes regarding healing and bits of potion making.

❁Five small bottles of different potions (which can also ease dehydration or malnutrition) in case she can't cast her magic

❁One set of a change of clothes

❁Soap and other toiletries

Fighting Style:

Erika mostly tries to use her illusions to distract her enemy whilst she escapes or tries to knock them out with any heavy object she can find.

Likes:

❁sky-gazing

❁gardens

❁anything related to mother nature

❁witches

❁poems

❁cute outfits (but doesn't really buy new clothes that often, she works with what she has)

Dislikes:

❁narrow minded people

❁wasted resources

❁people who focus on the negative aspects

*thank you to
@Dawnsx for helping me with the accordion~*

Feruna "Rune" Mistral

line.png

Feruna1.jpg

The Basics

Feruna.icon.jpg

Name

Age

Gender

Height

Feruna Mistral

22

Female

5'9" | 175cm

Appearance
Due to her rather androgynous features, many often find it difficult to figure out what gender Feruna is upon first glance. Of course, most end up making the mistake of assuming that she's male due to her style of dress as well as her mannerisms. With her rather impressive height of 5'9" added to their observations, one can see exactly why so many have made such erroneous assumptions. It honestly doesn't make it any better that she doesn't bother to correct anyone, either.

Feruna always keeps her silver hair short, seldom reaching below her shoulders, and it is most often seen appearing a bit messy, although not unkempt. Her right eye is covered by her bangs in order to hide her red eye, allowing for only her pale purple eye to be in the view of others. Adding to the messy appearance of her hair, there are a few short strands which stick out at the back of her head due to a recent accident while attempting to cut her own hair. Despite being seemingly neglectful of her hair, Feruna appears to pay great attention to appearing neat and prim, as seen in the clothing that she wears almost like a uniform.

During the rare times that Feruna actually presents herself in a much more feminine appearance, she ties her hair back with a white and blue ribbon in order to cover up the short hairs on the back of her head as well as pulling back the bangs that normally drape over her right eye. In order to cover up her eye without her bangs, Feruna conceals the true color of her right eye with a simple illusion. However, she hasn't reached the level where keeping an illusion active for an extended amount of time is easy, so she'll occasionally resort to an eyepatch.

" I don't believe that I called for or even required your assistance. However, for your concern, you have my gratitude. "

Underneath the Surface Pt.I - The Caldea

A rather well-to-do family of nobles, the Caldea pride themselves in their talented wind magic users. Despite being a family of magicians, the Caldea have, strangely, remained unaffiliated with the various magic guilds and the government, opting to remain independent and unattached instead.

Before anything else, the Caldea place a heavy emphasis on striving for excellence. To them, failure is not an option and their offspring must produce the best of results. Due to this, almost everything in the family is attained through merit. Those with potential and power were spoiled silly whilst those who lagged behind were "urged on" with harsh words and treatment. Similarly, while the head of the family was always of the same line, the family would choose the son with the highest future prospects rather than the first born son.

While the Caldea often ignore social norms and the like in order to remove anything that might limit their growth, they did indeed stick to one prejudice: Women are forbidden from inheriting the right to become the family head. Of course, this prejudice never really mattered as the head of the family always received only sons, all valid potential successors. That is, until the unprecedented occurred.

Underneath the Surface Pt.II - Memoria

" 'I' am the one who has been given this life. Therefore, I have every right to live the way that I, myself, wish. I am not your puppet. "

Despite being from a well-to-do family of nobles, Feruna's life has been less than comfortable. Marked as an anomaly at birth due to lacking the nearly trademark jet black hair and crimson red eyes of the Caldea, Feruna was treated with disdain by her family. She was considered an "imperfection" and a "stain." Not only was she different in appearance, but she was also a female. Up to this point, the head of the family having a daughter as a first born was unprecedented.

Whether it was to cover up the fact that the wife of the head had borne a daughter or simply due to her parents not knowing what else to do, Feruna was raised as a boy. Of course, Feruna, herself, accepted this without protest. Already being considered a problem child due to the color of her hair as well as the color of her left eye, she never went against the word or orders of her father and mother. She didn't want to cause unnecessary trouble that could potentially build up into drama. Also, a small part of her wished for acceptance. Even if it was something as simple as her father looking her way, she would take that as a sign of recognition, something that signified that the things she had done was worth something.

Upon reaching the age of eight, it was discovered that despite having been condemned as a disgrace to the family due to her strange appearance, Feruna had a high aptitude for magic. Seeing this as an opportunity to gain her father's recognition, she worked hard to ensure that this talent would come to fruition. In the end, with a mix of both natural born talent as well as hard work, Feruna ended up gaining what she wanted. At least, in a technical way. The scornful and cold glances of her family members were gone and in their place were praises for her effort. However, Feruna didn't wish for something so superficial. Her family, including her father, didn't recognize her as a person, but rather as a tool. As someone who had desperately sought her father's attention, she had been blind to the way that the family really worked. The weak were cast aside while the strong were used as tools to further advance the family's success. The Caldea never cared about the well-being or will of the child. The only thing that mattered was their greed for power.

Disgusted by her own foolishness, Feruna found that the situation was almost laughable. She had been like a child desperately searching for a box in prospect of finding treasure, only to find out that the box was full of dirt instead. Perhaps what she had truly wanted was for someone to just care that she existed. However, she had ended up finding out that even something like this was something that couldn't be found within the Caldea and got hurt in the process. This realization sparked a sort of rebellion within Feruna. If her family was going to abide by shallow ideals driven by greed, then she had no need for them.

Not knowing what else to do, Feruna continued to train diligently in both magic as well as her swordsmanship. However, she made sure to make it obvious that she was doing this for herself and not her family. She moved independently and refused any requests or orders that she may have been given by her parents. To further emphasize her point, Feruna began to focus on illusion based magic rather than the wind magic that the Caldea prided itself in. Naturally, she was punished severely for every "misdeed" that she did. Despite this, she continued to rebel against her family. She would rather die the most painful death than become a puppet of her family.

As a final rebellion, once she had come of age, Feruna left her "home" and cut off all ties with her family. She even went as far as to cast aside her own surname and covered up her right eye. At this point, she had trained enough in her swordsmanship to be able to get by without having to rely on magic too much and she, as a result, forbid herself from ever using the magic related to the Caldea again. If she was ever to achieve something, she was to do it with her own power without depending on the magic that she had "acquired through her cursed blood." Using wind magic, even if it was just by reflex, meant that she was allowing for her family to win.

Now, if only ridding herself of the chains of the past only took willpower...Furthermore, what was the point in having struggled her way to where she is now? What was her purpose in living?

Underneath the Surface Pt.III - Hide and Seek

When Feruna was offered a job to assist in protecting Onasat's barriers, she didn't consider this her calling or other such sentimental things. However, as someone who had been traveling around as a mercenary of sorts, this was something within her scope. It could be said that rather than it being her purpose in living or the noble cause of wishing to help the people of Onasat, it was more along the lines of something that could probably take her mind off of her current issues. While her lack of motivation was a bit alarming, Feruna showed no signs of malicious intent, either, resulting in her being permitted to partake in the job.

Personality

" My answer to you will be, "Why?" If sugarcoating my words served some sort of purpose other than giving others needless satisfaction, perhaps then I would do it. "

Due to her rather complicated relationship with her family as well as her childhood, Feruna's personality is a bit strange, that is to say, her mannerisms are strange according to the social norm. To Feruna herself, she sees nothing wrong with the way that she acts. This being said, it isn't uncommon for Feruna to be severely misunderstood by those she interacts with. This is especially so with her brutal frankness. More often than not, her seemingly harsh and insulting words are really just warnings, tips, or even just her expressing her honest opinions due to the belief that lying will just detriment the other person's growth.

This doesn't mean that she's an airhead, however. While small talk isn't her strong suit, Feruna has displayed that her ineptitude in socializing is covered up by her ability to negotiate with others as well as her being capable of quick thinking, even when under pressure. For someone who can't seem to get that some people like those who are more discreet, she's ironically adept at negotiations. After all, she had been taught how to deal with people in a civil manner when she wished to avoid trouble or needless bloodshed, not the fact that this is considered being "kind" and not "false" at certain times. Due to this and several other quirks, Feruna has often been told that she appears to lack common sense.

Overall a very matter-of-factly type of person, Feruna refuses to allow other things effect her on a grand scale and simply takes things in stride. She believes that if someone insults her, it shouldn't matter since it isn't necessarily the truth and even if it is, there's nothing to be done about it. Should someone make a mistake, what's done is done and she'll just have to deal with it. However, her own mistakes and shortcomings often bother her greatly, a fear that has long plagued her since her childhood. Her lack of common sense aside, perhaps it's this seriousness that puts people on edge and only adds to their belief that she's always making hostile comments. This is probably also the reason as to why people seem to believe that Feruna does not and cannot tell jokes.

Feruna's cynical views on certain topics such as herself don't really make other's opinions of her very positive, either.

Magic

Having attempted to fill in the void caused by refusing to use her wind magic with illusion magic, Feruna mixes in with her swordsmanship the art of deceit through the use of illusions. As she isn't a top practitioner of illusion magic due to her undeniable natural affinity for wind magic, Feruna's capabilities are limited. She has, however, managed to develop a fighting style suitable for her current proficiency level in illusions. Rather than create large scale illusions or illusions that eat away at the opponent's minds through fear, Feruna manipulates her illusions in subtle ways. Real obstacles are concealed while false obstacles are placed in empty space, causing her opponents to move in a particular way or direction. Even when her opponent figures out that she's using illusions, the confusion of what's real and what's false is enough to give her more of an advantage. Of course, Feruna has her limits when it comes to just how long and how frequently she can cast these illusions.

Regrettably, Feruna is much more well-versed in the art of wind magic. Being capable of essentially "reinforcing" herself with wind, Feruna can enhance her blade with a sharp cutting wind to make it cut deeper. Other possible applications of her wind magic would be launching blade like blasts of wind and being capable of increasing her mobility both on land and in the air. As staying airborne requires too much wasted energy, Feruna simply uses short but powerful blasts of air to propel herself in the direction that she wishes. This blast of wind can also be used as a minor barrier during that short moment that it appears due to the great gusts that it can potentially kick up.

Despite the clear boost in combat prowess that using wind magic would give her, Feruna refuses to use this "cursed" magic. In fact, the only times where she even uses the most minor technique is when instinct kicks in.

Weapon and Fighting Style

Weapon - (Dual) Hook Swords

Seeking an efficient weapon in order to overcome her disadvantage of not implementing a lot of magic into her combative style, Feruna researched weapons of various origins. After weighing the pros and cons as well as the dangers of even learning how to even wield the weapon, Feruna came the conclusion that the tiger hook swords would serve her well. Suitable for her build, the blades were light-weight and geared towards speed. They were also flexible due to being capable of serving several different purposes. The back would be used as a regular blade, the hooks at the end of the swords could be used to potentially trip or disarm people, the sharpened end of the hilt could be used for stabbing, the crescent guard could be used for guarding and slashing, and the two swords could even be loosely linked at the hooks to double the wielder's range. Of course, while the weapon is indeed versatile, it isn't the easiest to wield, requiring years of training.

Despite her skill in the handling of her weapon as well as her ability to react quickly, Feruna is still weak against those who can attack from a distance. While she can deal with mid-ranged fighters due to her speed allowing her to catch up, those who can attack from afar leave her unable to attack, causing her to remain on the defensive until she can somehow close in on the enemy past their attacks.

Possessions

A pair of hook swords

Canteen of water

Rations

Pocket watch

Quotes

"While it is true that I never said I was female, I don't believe that I have ever stated that I was male, either." (A response to someone finally realizing that's she's female)

"I don't believe that I called for or even required your assistance. However, for your concern, you have my gratitude." (Feruna after being "rescued")

"I guess you could have done better." (Taste testing food)

"Unlike you, I am insignificant. After all, there is no one to miss me even after I'm gone."

Trivia

Feruna's true full name is Feruna Crescentos Caldea. However, the surname "Caldea" was dropped due to her breaking all ties with her family while her middle name was dropped due to her deeming such secondary names as unnecessary. Later on, Feruna adopted the surname "Mistral" out of sheer convenience due to others questioning her lack thereof.

As a nickname, some people have come to call Feruna simply as "Rune." However, those who have realized that she's female refer to her as "Runa."

"Caldea" is derived from the goddess "Cardea" who has an association with wind. Meanwhile, "Mistral" is an actual word referring to a specific type of cold wind.

Feruna appears to be very attached to her pocket watch for some reason...

Feruna has a few habits that can easily be detected. She often takes out her pocket watch and stares at it for no reason, adjusts the glove on her right hand before starting a task, and crosses her arms while examining someone. There are a number of other habits, but these are much easier to overlook.

Due to the way she was raised, Feruna has a troubling tendency to ignore gender, or more specifically, the differences that exist between them.

Feruna is almost never seen without gloves on. This has led to some believing that she either has some sort of complex about her hands or is a clean freak.

The reason as to why Feruna doesn't bother to correct people who have mistaken her gender is due to being too used to it. Basically, she gave up.

She has a great fondness for music. However, she is incapable of playing an instrument. She has a decent voice, but she finds singing bothersome, especially when "I can't reach this note."

For the most part, she doesn't care about what she eats as long as it's edible. However, she'll still give her honest opinion on how something tastes if someone asks her about it.

Feruna prefers to use her hair or an illusion to conceal her red eye because an eyepatch would blind her on her right side.

People have often stated that the look in her eyes give off a cold feeling. However, someone have also described her eyes as holding a certain kind of solemn loneliness.

APPEARANCE

Standing at 5'8", Arion would say his height is quite average. With a build between an ectomorph and a mesomorph, Arion has a naturally...medium physique. Neither "lanky" or "wide", Arion hosts no outward characteristics. His has a pale complexion, which directly correlates to Arion's habit of not going outside too often. The only other physical feature relating to his body shape is his decently muscular build, which is often covered and concealed beneath his clothing.

The features on his face however, are rather irregular. More specifically, Arion hosts a pair of yellow-amber eyes paired with silver hair of which he would only assume was passed genetically, though he never met his biological parents to verify this fact. The rest of his face, is rather normal. Arion hosts the usual oval shape, two eyes, a nose, a mouth, two ears...everything seems to be normal.

PERSONALITY

A self-proclaimed perfectionist, Arion constantly strives to reach the top, which in theory would garner him more attention. An unhealthy habit that primarily stemmed from his childhood in an orphanage, Arion has a rather great need to be noticed rather than forgotten. In turn, Arion is extremely demanding and unforgiving to himself. Facing extreme regimes, harsh expectations, and everything along the lines, Arion's obsession does seem to have its positives and negatives. The positive, being a turnout he's mostly satisfied with. The negative, being a self-reproach. To elaborate, Arion's a proud individual. Showing any form of weakness or imperfection would fluster him, leading to some unintentional comedy gold in some cases. He would try to cover his tracks, making excuses that are obviously excuses, and doing anything to his ability to correct himself.

As implied, Arion tends to be an extremely hardworking person. Despite this, Arion scarcely reveals his work ethic to others, leading various individuals to come to the conclusion that Arion's extremely arrogant and most of all: a liar. It is true that there is some level of arrogance within the man, though it seems extremely exaggerated by his aforementioned secrecy.

Aside from his work ethic and harsh expectations of himself, there seems to be even more things that make him look like a generic good guy. He has a strong sense of duty and loyalty to his allies, fueling his need to fulfill specific obligations that are set upon him. This all, in the end, again further satisfies his need of belongingness.

In terms of social skills, Arion fits all the necessary quotas. He's kind enough, he smiles when needed, and helps whenever one requires it. Despite his initial warm attitude he gives, most are turned away when they dig further into his personality. Whether it's his unintentional cockiness, his minor superiority complex or a tendency to go on the defensive at the sight of any form of criticism, Arion always has his ways to have friends run away furious on accident.

Battle tends to be another aspect individuals are furious with in relation to Arion. His skills aren't the aspect that would anger his allies, rather it's his careless approach. Every day, his bold approaches to the enemy bring worry to Arion's wellbeing from others, in which he casually says, "It's not an issue".

BACKGROUND

The orphanage life isn't something anyone would want, though...guess it shaped me into me - and I'm grateful for that.

Arion, from at least since he remembered, was stuck in an orphanage. Growing up, Arion never treated the place as an orphanage. Rather the home to a big family. A really, really big family. Life wasn't too bad for Arion. He had a roof under his head, a decent bed to sleep in, and tons of friends to could talk to. The orphanage itself was rather cozy. It was a rather sizeable manor snugly housing every single child and worker within its premises. As far as Arion knew, it was himself and twenty others - half of whom Arion never spoke to. They all got along quite well - a mutual kindness due solely to fact that they were living together until one was adopted.

Arion still remembered his childhood quite vividly. His caretakers would train and teach the kids in various fields for a few hours before taking everyone to a bakery. He still remembered the pleasant aroma of fresh loaves, and his groans in protest as he was woken from his slumber. The memories were so pleasant to recall, and they were all ruined as he remembered how his personal selfishness forced a life of hardness upon himself.

Nearing one's adolescence, one tends to change. Whether it be minor, or major, their mind begins to slowly mature into an adult. Arion, experiencing this, didn't give many pleasant thoughts. He grew competitive - having one-sided rivalries with the other children in the orphanage. Arion never spoke of these rivalries out loud, nor did anyone know they were happening. He worked his ass off to surpass his "family". Hours were invested to train himself physically, and more hours were spent training himself in magic. Arion, looking back on his past, would admit it was overkill - even for what he does now.

This attitude...rifted himself from the others. They caught onto why he was training, and they were furious with the fact. Slowly, each of them began to halt conversations with Arion - unwilling to talk to someone who only wants to be better than themselves.

Years passed with his harsh self-treatment and Arion finally decided it was time to move out. He was 15, and quite frankly he knew his caretakers would throw him out eventually. It was inevitable, and Arion decided to be the one who initiated the leave. There wasn't too much to speak of his leave. He spoke with his caretakers, his plan afterwards, and they ushered him out with 50 gold pieces to his name. Arion's primary objectives were to either join the magician's guild or he could become a knight. Arion, mostly wished for the former as there was a less chance of being used as a pawn as a mage.

"I apologize, but we already have too many members as it is. If you would like, I would be able to point you towards other organizations for mages."

Arion was dumbfounded, and he wouldn't lie to say he was pissed for the following days. Extremely out of character, anything would set him off. One day, he even considered murdering one of the members to create an opening. All of these thoughts were soon washed out when he remembered plan B, become a knight.

That goal, was rather simple to achieve. The beginning was hard, being the peasant he was. Arion was accepted into the institution of knights...as a joke. Arion was used as a scapegoat, a punching bag, and everything in between with a promise of knighthood in the end. Quite surprisingly, the nobles kept their promise. Arion was squired, even if he had already surpassed the normal age by a few years. The training was a breeze for Arion, he's trained himself harder in the past. Four years were spent as a squire, until he was knighted.

Becoming a knight...it was underwhelming for Arion. He still felt grateful and happy, though he felt as if he could do more. Two years as a knight, this thought stuck with him. Arion continued his service, hopeful that one day, he would be given something else. That was, when his lord approached him on the topic of a new occupation: protecting Onasat's barriers.

CAPABILITIES

【Weapons】

Arion possess an extremely minimal arsenal of weapons. On his person, he tends to carry a small set of throwing knives. Unless Arion's in a rush, he strays away from weapons. When referring to his throwing knives, the reasoning behind his little use is to save himself financially. As he would rarely scavenge, Arion would have to purchase an entire new set - something he isn't keen on doing during the aftermath of every battle.

【Teleportation Proficiency

Out of all the magic subcategories Arion could've decided to learn, he of course chose the one with the largest threat to his life. Far from perfect, Arion's natural carelessness with risks often equivalate to overusing teleportation. In spite of this, he continues to dabble in the dangerous skill for the sake of "working well with my fighting style".

The speed of his teleportations in an ideal circumstance is .25 seconds. Of course, this number can easily differ depending on the situation. His teleportations are often reliant on the distance, the things he's carrying with him, his current physical state, and his current mental state. Time, distance, and physical state are easily understood when simply reading it, and for the most part, only affect teleportation speeds and fatigue levels. Mental state on the other hand, has many more accounted problems. The general concensus, is the less concentrated and more agitated Arion his, the higher risk of accidents. This can range from obvious slower teleportation times, teleporting off target, and even self-amputation by ways of accidentally teleporting only part of his body mass when in a rush.

In terms of distance, the accuracy of the teleportation lowers as the length increases. Noticeable inaccuracies occur when Arion attempts to teleport to a distance exceeding 20 feet - basically the height of a flailing tube man. Meaning, if Arion ever wanted to teleport to somewhere such as the top of a castle, he'd have to expect himself to teleport into the middle of the air before heading to freefall.

【Wind Magic】

Wind magic is something Arion's dabbled in for a short while. Without a motivation to improve upon the skill as he did with teleportation, Arion remains at a strictly basic understanding. His current repertoire of spells involve utilizing blunt force and enhanced speed by means of altering the air around him. The former, involves Arion shooting a gust of wind with enough speed to simply distract the enemy, rather than inflict any harm.

Arion is slightly knowledgeable in other techniques, with the only problem being stability. Performing anything remotely harmful (e.g. adding a sharpened effect) tends to have a high backfire rate - the main reason why Arion would never try to do it.

【Fighting Style】

Arion's philosophy in combat has always been the same: speed's the only thing that matters. His fighting style, choices in magic, and his weaponry all reflect upon this.

In terms of whether Arion is a ranged or melee fighter, he prefers the former unless forced otherwise. His overall fighting style relies heavily on dodging enemy blows whilst chipping away their physical health. With teleportation plus enhanced speed by means of wind magic, Arion's primary intentions always tend to be directed towards finishing a battle with as little time as possible. The only downfall, is the high energy input he invests in the beginning. His overuse of magic and constant sprints take a major toll on him, even in spite of his current physical state. Thus, if the battle is dragged on further, Arion finds himself at a disadvantage - scraping the bottom of the barrel for any stamina he has left.

【Possessions】

- One set of throwing knives

- Two sets of clothes

- Three worn handbooks relating to military strategy

- Various recipe books

- One hair comb

- An array of haircare products

- One extremely blunted shortsword

- One notebook & pen

On the Outside

Gender:

Male

Age:

21

Appearance + Height:

Lucero, affectionately deemed 'Lucy' by those around him stands at 6 ft. even. Not 6'1 nor 5'11, but 6 ft. He has a roguish handsomeness to his features. Indigo eyes, purple or dark blue depending on the light you look at him, are mischievous and seem to look like they're always up to no good. They also look optimistic as well as intense and passionate. Sure, he has muscle, but his frame is mostly lean akin to an ectomorph. Lucero has light blonde hair barely reaching the nape of his neck. Wavy with a side of bedhead, he just looks attractive, but in an effortless manner. What one might note is his smirk, that obnoxious little smirk of his is quite a defining feature.

His clothing isn't anything of the extraordinary, they're just what he wears in the picture. A white ensemble with golden trim and buttons. Various jewels he's collected over his lifetime have been sewn onto his suit for decoration. His pride and joy is his hat, black with ornate details, feathers are also a nice addon. A blue sash is tied around said hat as it forms a beak shape over his head. He dresses to kill but doesn't want to look like he tries too hard. Lucero also likes to wear gloves with little rings and protective padding. It's comfortable, functional and doesn't interfere with the task at hand.

Sexuality:

Bisexual

In Depth

Personality:

When you first speak to Lucero, you'll be pretty confused as to whether he's part of the upperclass or raised among thieves. While charming, sociable and cunning, he's learned from a young age that pretty words and poetry can get you very far with people's hearts. On top of that, he's pretty damn good at twisting the words of himself and other people when he sees fit. Lucero is also able to think on the fly better than most people. In fact, he's probably better at doing so than by making a plan beforehand. He practically depends on sweet talk to get him out of situations. The man appears confident around his peers almost 24/7, and able to react well to unexpected questions or insults. However, he does show some of his actual intelligence during battle. Lucero, in other words, is someone who is fun to be with if you need some cheering up or a nice chat but is still reliable in battles or otherwise.

It is also important to note that Lucero does have a soft side to him. He has a strict moral code, even though he has a past of breaking laws, there are things not even he would do. This would be to lie. Lucero is an honest person, no matter how much he sweet talks himself out of each situation. During romantic and friendly matters, he isn't afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve. When he loves or considers someone a friend, they will know. They will know in the most Lucero way possible. He isn't a perfectionist by any means, Lucero simply likes to go with the flow. He especially loves to sketch, as it helps with his illusions. Lucero also loves to perform in front of people, so the deck of cards is a must.

However, while Lucero has excellent self control over negative or positive emotions, it doesn't mean he doesn't have them. Sure, he may behave well and composed under pressure but it's a front. It'll start with a quip or a glance, but when provoked, Lucero will lose his temper. His temper can just be like an off and on switch. If you don't touch or screw with the switch, you'll be relatively fine. While he doesn't fight unless he has to, once he does, he tends to lose himself. Lucero becomes reckless and even competitive. Lucero also has a tendency to be a bit of a daredevil, if there's something dangerous, he'll probably just do it just to see if he can.

Backstory:

Lucero Dominiko Fantina wasn't raised in a fancy house nor did he have the nicest things. His father had died from a disease long ago, so it was merely his mother and his 3 brothers. It wasn't a very complicated life, not even luxurious in the slightest. Regardless, the boy was happy with his brothers and the other village children. Not very many practiced magic, though some only seemed to do it in front of people without any sort of formal training. As a child, Lucero loved to play with mirrors. He was fascinated with how they worked, the way they changed the perception of you depending on where you faced it or how the mirror was made. Even though the way they looked seemed to change, his mother simply dismissed his curiosity, saying that they were still the same person... merely different by perspective. Though, this didn't stop the meddling child from tying this mirror to his first ever dabbles in illusion magic.

So that was what never left the back of his mind for many years. In fact, for fun, Lucero would take time out of his day to simply marvel by the mirror, going beyond perspective. He changed his hair colour, eye colour, the way his voice sounded, whether or not the reflection seemed to be distorted. Lucero even made himself look like a woman once, just to see what he would look like. Eventually, this grew to be such an obsession that Lucero had the brightest idea to show off to his friends. Sooner or later, it became talk of his village about the 'boy who could shapeshift'. He practiced on almost anyone that asked. All they needed was a drawing or just the person's face to look just like them. Lucero had turned down every offer for formal training due to his age, but at the age of 15, he decided to enroll in knight's training.

See, Lucero was the type of dorky little kid that got in trouble quite a bit for his antics. He liked to mock other knights as well as tease them with his illusion abilities. Once he got caught, Lucero felt no need to lie. Instead, he sugarcoated and brown-nosed his way up the ranks. Lucero was actually quite good at this. Picking up the art of flattery early on, it would come to be beneficial whenever Lucero got into trouble. In fact, he would even use his abilities to commit various forms of theft. It wasn't anything too serious, but more in the name of fun and thrills. His ability to socialize and charm others helped him gain many friends among the other knights in training. However, things would soon become serious right away.

That was, when he learned another form of magic for combative purposes. Long hours dedicated to the element of water soon became tiring. Lucero had stopped socializing with the other knights or committing theft. Now, he was supposed to be a grown up, learning the ways of magic to later protect himself as well as his country. Even though he had refused this as a child, Lucero was now professionally learning the ways of his craft. Instead of changing himself however, he also learned how to change other things including the objects around him. Despite learning this, however, Lucero always found it easier to focus on himself when performing spells of magic. Lucero was also given a sketchbook of his own to focus on making new illusions and bring inspiration to his mind that day.

Physical training became strenuous, but Lucero had learned something at the age of 17. He was skilled with speed, climbing, attacking from afar, but there was something he was also good at.
Archery. Lucero naturally had good aim. He learned how to be versatile as well as fighting up close. While most knights used swords or axes to fight, he opted for something lighter and more suited to him. The chained swords. At least this way, he would never be able to lose his weapon in the middle of a fight. Lucero was able to land quick hits and used his ability to quickly teleport away. However, this, combined with his water training, he imbued ice to the blades of the swords and the tips of the arrow for more damage.

After years of flattery and talking himself up to the top, he had finally made it. The moment of truth had come to him. Mr. Lucero Fantina was assigned with protecting the barriers. Years of training and flattery had led himself to this.
And he was going to be ready. Lucero agreed at a moment's notice. Here he is from being a commoner practicing with mirrors to a knight. Albeit an unconventional one.

Technical Stuff

Possessions:

A small hair comb

Bow and Arrow

Dual chains

Two curved daggers

Rations + a water pouch

A deck of playing cards

Sketchbook + Pencils

Magic Disciples:

Illusion Magic: Probably Lucero's strong suit and his main type. While not raised conventionally in a formal school building, he likes to use his surroundings to his advantage. Instead of making something that isn't there, he likes to change what already exists. He's able to alter the percieved height or distance of certain items or even make himself look different. Lucero can even 'change' his shape to resemble his enemy or someone related to an enemy. He can even imitate said person's voice or alter his own. Hell, he can just make himself invisible to whomever he desires. However, he must not be fighting in order to do this for a long time, as this requires a lot of concentration. Luckily, with his past, he's been able to pull this off for a very long time. Lucero can even clone himself doing weird things if he really wanted to. While he cannot use this while he's fighting, Lucero is working at even attempting to combine combat with his illusions.

Water Magic: While Lucero isn't as proficient, he simply prefers ice. He doesn't really think about defending himself, but more like attacking. He puts ice magic into his chains or in his arrows to do more additional damage. Lucero can also solidify other liquids as substitute shards to launch at the enemy. However, that's about the extent of his abilities. There is more on how he uses water in his fighting style.

Fighting Style and Weapons:

Lucero's techniques are all about speed as well as agility. Lucero is the type of guy that tries his hardest to find the easiest way to defeat people. However, he definitely isn't the strongest. He will distract and manipulate with his illusions but if all else fails, he's ready to fight. And he has a plan for ranged and melee. Lucero prides himself with being versatile, any terrain, any distance, etc. If he needs to strike close, Lucero will turn himself invisible, reappear in his normal form and just start landing quick hits with his duel chain swords. Sometimes there's ice imbued to pack an extra punch. If needed, he dodges and avoids hits rather well.

When ranged, he can use his bow and arrow many ways. Normally... or imbued with ice. He's trained with this weapon longer and therefore is more familiar with such an item. This also keeps his recklessness at bay. Since bows aren't really killing weapons, he also shoots at other objects to manipulate the terrain to his advantage. If things do get desperate, he's not afraid to just up and stab someone. However, while he can afford hits and do damage from both a distance or up close, Lucero cannot take a hit.

Although he won't admit it, he has a horrible constitution and pain tolerance. One punch can just bring him down a couple of rounds. In addition, pin him down or limit his movements and you've practically gotten him. In a battle with just brute strength, he's bound to lose. Lucero is also prone to being reckless and thinking on the fly, which can be as much of a strength as that is a weakness. Also important, being a jack of all trades makes you a master of none.
