Tainted Memories.(Me and NMP)

Sadie sighed softly as she looked up at the afternoon sky, the grass she was laying back in cool against her skin. Her coppery hair spread out around her head.

"SADDDDDDIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" yelled Tor as she came rushing down from the air. She snapped her wings out and caught herself landing on the ground.

"DUDE!" she smiled and shook her head letting her blonde hair shake with it.

"I got to fly with eagles, it was so cool!" Tor sat down next to Sadie.

Sadie smiled softly as she looked at her friend. "Lovely day to fly, isn't it?" She asked in her soft voice. The girl was very mild-mannered in thought and action.

"I'm glad you enjoyed your flight, Tor." She murmured.

"Oh I did so so so so so much!" Tor gave Sadie a hug and squeaked in happiness. Tor was pretty much the opposite of Sadie in every way.She was loud, outgoing and just out there. Sadie balanced her out, the girls really were two half's to a whole, at least Tor thought so anyway.

"So what are we going to do today Sadie?" Tor asked looking up at her.

Sadie ran a hand through her red hair and smiled at her friend. "I'm not entirely sure, Tor," she replied with a smile. "What are you wanting to do? I have just rather enjoyed watching the birds and you soar."

"I thought maybe we could find a place to stay for the night." Tor said breaking away from her friend.

"We have enough cash for a hotel right?" She blinked looking at Sadie.

"It can't be that expensive!"

Sadie scratched the back of her neck nervously. "It's either stay in a crappy motel room, or eat for the next couple of days..." She mumbled. "Prices aren't too great. We could go see if we can bunk at a shelter, or find a library that we can stay in for a while."

"A creepy library, dudeeeee!" Toe whined throwing her hands up in the air.

"A shelter isn't much better when you think about it so I guess we just have to stay at the library." Tor flopped down next to Sadie.

"I've you let me be a stripper we wouldn't have this issue!"

Sadie gave a giggle. "Libraries aren't creepy. I could make it creepy and we could read horror stories to each other if you want," she murmured playfully.

"As for being a stripper, you don't have the ass for it," she joked.

"I could be a fine stripper Miss Sadie, better then you" Tor grumbled, but she smiled and stuck her tounge out.

"I do enjoy scary stories, let's do it." Tor jumped up and punched the air with her fist.

Sadie smiled. "I know, Tor, just don't want guys drooling all over my best friend. You deserve more respect." She grabbed her friend's hand. "Let's get going before closing time."

"Aw you really love me!" Tor said happily hugging Sadie.

"Yeah let's go!" She spread her wings out and bent her legs before she took off into the air laughing.

Sadie followed happily. Even if they were bunking in the library and eating cheap floods, she always had Tor. They were the best of friends.

After some time flying Tor landed on the roof of the libary and looked around.

"Score!" She yelled walking over to the door and pushing it open.

"Creepy libary adventure starts now."

"Not ghosts." Tor said weakly.

"I might faint from fright:" she put her hand to her forehead and swooned down into a beanbag.

She smiled and grabbed a flashlight from behind the unoccupied desk, turning off all of the lights in the room.

"When Felix Agnus put up the life-sized shrouded bronze statue of a grieving angel, seated on a pedestal, in the Agnus family plot in the Druid Ridge Cemetery, he had no idea what he had started. The statue was a rather eerie figure by day, frozen in a moment of grief and terrible pain. At night, the figure was almost unbelievably creepy; the shroud over its head obscuring the face until you were up close to it. There was a living air about the grieving angel, as if its arms could really reach out and grab you."

Sadie smiled softly and continued speaking.

"It didn't take long for rumors to sweep through the town and surrounding countryside. They said that the statue - nicknamed Black Aggie - was haunted by the spirit of a mistreated wife who lay beneath her feet. The statue's eyes would glow red at the stroke of midnight, and any living person who returned the statues gaze would instantly be struck blind. Any pregnant woman who passed through her shadow would miscarry. If you sat on her lap at night, the statue would come to life and crush you to death in her dark embrace. If you spoke Black Aggie's name three times at midnight in front of a dark mirror, the evil angel would appear and pull you down to hell. They also said that spirits of the dead would rise from their graves on dark nights to gather around the statue at night."

Tor blinked a few times and smiled nervously.

"So why not just like get rid of the damn thing." Tor blinked and stretched out her wings flapping them a few times before settling back down/

"Because people began going to the cemetery just to see it and it was then that the local fraternity decided to make the statue of Grief part of their initiation rites. "Black Aggie" sitting, where candidates for membership had to spend the night crouched beneath the statue with their backs to the grave of General Agnus, became popular. No one could anticipate what would happen as a result of this practice."

"How dumb!" Tor stated throwing her hands up in the air.

"Do they want to die?" Tor stopped and picked her head to the side.

"Did you hear that... It sounded like a window was opened." Tor's eyes peeled as she combed the darkness.

"Mayhap's it was a particular statue coming to get the nonbeliever," Sadie teased, handing Tor the book. "I'll go look. You hit someone with this book if they attack you, or run the heck out if you hear screaming, okay?"

"I won't leave you Sadie." Tor said grabbing the book.

"If I hear screaming I'm running headfirst after you!" Tor gave a nod her eyes almost burning with loyalty.
