Tagging system

For logistics' sake, I think the prefixes "simple", "casual", and "detailed" should stay. I'm not 100% sure how the coding for this site works, but I'm imagining it would be easier to change those to reflect post-expectations. For example, "simple" would become "none" or "short" (the latter might be better thematically) while "detailed" could be renamed "lengthy" or whatever sounds best. This way, no one has to relabel their current RPs, assuming everyone's going by post requirement.

Then, we could add a second category of prefixes used to describe the complexity desired from players with the words "simple", "casual", and "detailed".

I like the suggestion of having two scales, so to speak. I've never seen a thread with two tags though.

It's not up to me, but I'll see if I can't bring it up with other staff for their review when I get the chance. :)

It could be a matter of not having the ability to tag a thread across two categories, aha.

Please take your time. I tagged you because you had mentioned formalizing the process and would have some context for this lol

I don't think we can have two prefixes, but we do have tags, which are different and can say whatever you liked :)

Prefixes. That's what I meant.

I just call everything tags.

I swear I have a robust vocabulary. I swear.

Without knowing how the site's programming is structured, I can't say how complicated the process would be. If it's not possible from the front-end (moderator tools and options), then it would involve going into the coding :x

As a current and workable solution, I don't think it is looked down upon to just explicitly state your expectations in the rp/interest check. If you feel that the rp is on the cusp of 2 potential tags, just pick the one you feel it's closest too. Then you can be very specific about the complexity, length, etc, that you expect in the rp. Frequently variation in length is allowable even in a rp style that typically features a different length. Sometimes you just don't need that many words. The most important thing is that the players know what the gm expects and vice versa.
