Two Thousand Club
Our story begins in the Capital City of Erindal and within the campus/estate of the Cliffheart Clan. On this day, the heads of each of the seven clans are to gather at the Cliffheart Clan to discuss any changes in trading, defense against demons, and other business matters. This meeting occurs every five years and each year the location for the meeting is randomly selected between any of the clan's locations. How these meetings are arranged is kept discreet to avoid the ears of unwanted visitors appearing at the meetings. Aside from the heads of the clans arriving, the Envoys of each of the clans are also expected to be present during said meeting. While they are allowed to voice their opinions on the matter, they are moreover expected to be mere bodyguards in the case of any danger that could/would be present to the head of the clans. Once the heads of clans arrive at the hosting clan's location, those of the visiting clans are expected to honor the traditions of the hosting clan, even if the tradition goes against that of their own.

During this time, the Dark Enovys have also decided to rendevous together. While they do not have a set period of time that must pass before they meet, unlike the Light Envoys, they each have the ability to telepathically communicate with one another to set up a meeting whenever they wish. As it is with normally each meeting, this meeting is regarding the situation and updates on whether any of them have located the demon child that has been missing for centuries now. The meeting spot has been the same for years, located just outside of the Capital City of Erindal, several hundred meters away, there are some old ruins of an ancient civilization said to have roamed the planet even before humans or demons could harness the power of the elements in the palms of their own hands.

As a large ship decored from top to bottom in ceremonial decorations connected to the Shen Clan pulled into one of the docking bays of the Capital City, the moment the dock workers had taken notice of the clan's insignia, many of them began to scramble around to prepare for the arrival of the head of one of the seven clans. The only reason such a large ship and one that was decorated in such elegance would be arriving in the dock was likely because someone of high importance was arriving, and considering it had been five years since there had been a change in any political ongoing around the world, it was likely that the meeting with the heads of the clans was today.
Moments after the ship had pulled fully into the docking bay, large metal doors had shut behind the ship before the water level had slowly started to rise allowing the ship to rise up to the platform that was connected to an offboarding bridge. After the vessel was properly secured, four guardsmen dressed from head to toe in ceremonial armor while holding onto large spears marched off the ship first before stopping at the end of the ramp side by side.

Moments later a middle-aged woman wearing a blue and white dress lined with gold trimmings all over proceeded down the ramp while a cloaked figure followed closely behind her. The figure had kept their head down to avoid any unneeded eyes from any of the dock workers. Once the woman had stepped down from the ramp, she turned her head to gaze around the dock. "And where is my escort?" As she spoke, mere seconds passed as the sight of a young teenage male came sprinting down the entrance to the dock with a clipboard in hand. The young man rushed up to the woman while he attempted to catch his breath. "I...I apologize...for m-my t-tardiness...m'la..m'lady...Pl-please, this w-way.." As the male stuttered, he'd adjust his round glasses slightly before giving a bow out of respects for the woman before motioning her in the direction he came running from. "Hmph.." Being the only response given to the escort's late arrival, she proceeded in the direction she was told to go.

The pathway eventually would lead to the exterior of the port where several large vehicles were waiting for her. One vehicle would hold all four of the guardsmen while the other would be for the escort, the woman, and the cloaked figure. Next to both the vehicles was the driver who had been dressed in a luxurious suit and tie as he'd open the car door for the guests to enter before driving off to the location of the Cliffheart Clan. During the trip, the male would be jotting down notes on his clipboard while at times glancing up towards the woman who mainly stared out the car window while they passed by several buildings. "S-so...m-may I ask...is this individual the--" The moment he began his question, the woman would snap her attention away from the window and back towards the male with a piercing cold gaze as though trying to tell him not to speak. Almost instantly, the male understood the stare as he went silent for the rest of the car ride.

The ride took only a mere half hour or so before they pulled into the estate of the Cliffheart Clan. Once again, the drivers of both vehicles stepped out from their cars before opening the doors to allow their passengers to leave. After the guards and the escort had stepped out from the cars, the escort was quick to try and lead the woman into the estate only to be waved off. "I no longer require your services. I know the rest of the way." As she spoke, one of the guards lowered his weapon to stop the male from approaching the woman any further. While the cloaked figure and the woman entered the estate, the guards stood outside of the gates waiting patiently until the meeting was over or until they are given further instructions.

Once they were off the ship Masao looked around trying to spot a escort. He then turned to look at Honoka. "Weren't we suppose to-" Suddenly he was cut off by someone. "Excuse me sir would you happen to be Mr. Yumeno?" Masao turned around to see a older looking gentlemen. Masao smiled, "Yes that's me are you my escort?" The man nodded, "Yes sir if you would please follow me." He turned around and lead the way to the car and Masao and Honoka followed behind him. Once they made it to the cars the older gentlemen walked up to one of them opening the car door for the two. Once Masao and Honoka got inside the their escort got into the passanger seat and started the car. While driving the escort kept glancing back at the young clan leader and then finally spoke up. "Excuse me for asking sir but may I ask what happened to Kuro Yumeno. He is clan leader is he not?" Masao wasn't to surprised by the question. "Yes he is but he is o longer with us. As first born son I was next in line to take over as head." The escort nodded, "Very sorry for your lost sir." This would be Masao's first time meeting like this with other clan leaders. The ride was quiet the rest of the way. Finally they pulled up to the estate. Masao and Honoka got out of the car and when they did they noticed someone a cloak figure and a woman heading into the estate. "Well looks like we're like we're one of the first arrivals. Not bad." Masao made he's way into the estate with Honoka right beside him.

Aureliana Solari
The Envoy of Fire
From a distance, a humble sloop glided towards the Captial City’s port. Its exterior and mast were painted a vibrant red to contrast the blues and greens of the water. Accents of gold were also painted to display the Solari clan’s insignia, allowing the dock workers to prepare for their arrival.

“Start pulling up the mast, you two!”

An old man, dressed in ornate robes stood directly behind the helm, fragile and wrinkly hands gripping the handles to steer the small ship into port.

“Why couldn’t we just board a passenger ship?!”

A much younger man called out with an annoyed expression. He widened his stance as he pulled on one side of the mast’s rope, slowly lifting the sail.

“A better question: can we trust old man Matthias to steer us without crashing into another ship?”

Pulling at the other side of the mast’s rope was the fire envoy herself. Her long, vibrant hair billowed with the gentle breeze. She didn’t intend her question to poke fun at the clan head, her concerns lying with his deteriorating sight. However, Matthias’ grandson interpreted otherwise, stifling a chuckle as the two worked together to bring up the mast.

“I may look old but my senses are still ripe!” The old man countered even though he began to squint as their sloop edged closer to the docking bay, his hands shaking slightly as he steered. “And a clan leader should always be eager to take on any role, even a sailor — remember that, Hyperion!”

“Yes, yes…”

After a close call almost colliding with the port and following standard docking protocols, the three representatives of the Solari clan disembarked. One of Cliffheart’s many servants escorted them to their vehicle, wasting no time driving the trio to the estate. Aureliana peered out the window, watching various buildings and trees pass by. This was not the first meeting she had attended as she recalled the previous one just a few years after she was selected to be the fire envoy. She didn’t expect anything new to be discussed but she was curious to see how Hyperion would handle himself, as this would be his first meeting as acting clan leader — Matthias was merely here to sit back and observe just like she was.

Arriving at the estate, their escort promptly guided them through the exterior gates and towards the meeting hall. Aureliana offered a glance at Hyperion as she heard a quiet sigh from him. “You’ll be fine.” She reassured him with a confident nod. Eventually, the trio found themselves in the meeting hall, a few others waited along with them but it was obvious they arrived more or less on time. Their escort offered Matthias a polite bow before excusing themselves, leaving the trio to mingle with the rest.

“Gongyi!” The old man decided to break the ice, slowly making his way over to the head of the Shen clan. Matthias offered the illustriously dressed woman a shaky bow and a smile that brought more wrinkles to his aged face. “Every time we meet, you look more and more like your mother!” He let out a hearty laugh before gesturing to Hyperion, “Have you met my grandson yet? He’s still learning but is expected to take my place once the last of my flames are extinguished.”

Meanwhile, Aureliana kept an appropriate distance from their polite conversation, surveying the rest of the room. Her eyes rested on a short woman with green hair and a young man beside her, both she was not familiar with. She offered them a small nod in acknowledgment.

The Garden Villa was one of the Cliffheart's many estate. A simple yet imposing two story mansion made of white marble, built on the top of a hill with a vast field of flowers around it that gave the place its name. Unlike their main mansion, this building was located in a rather secluded location, a suitable place to hold important meetings such as the one they would be doing now.

The building's main hall was a spacious one and a large round table had been set up in the middle for today's occasion. Beautiful notes could be heard from the corner of the room where a lone figure sat in front of piano. Her eyes closed as she plays the instrument without any care about what was happening on her surrounding... at least that's what it looks like. Yet the moment the first guest stepped pass the front gate the girl had gradually concludes her play, ending the music with a rather anti-climatic fade out that makes one continue the play inside their own mind.

Stepping off the stage, the girl respectfully looked at each of the coming guests and bowed. The girl wasn't there during the last meeting, and even after the envoy status had been passed she was rarely seen on the public. So for most people there it would be their first time seeing Marcia, just like it was the first time for Marcia to know the others.

"Welcome to our humble abode," Marcia greeted with a polite yet somewhat casual tone, observant people would likely notice her fake smile as something that she had been training for a while.

"LOOK WHO'S COMING? I'M SURPRISED YOU STILL HAVE THE ENERGY TO COME, MATTHIAS! AHAHAHA." Whatever Marcia was about to say next was cut short by a loud booming voice coming into the room. A tall muscular old man with wild black and white hair and rowdy voice. Marlone Cliffheart had been the head of the clan for thirty years. A boisterous man who almost always yell when he speaks, an opposite to most of the clan members with their much calmer disposition.

A modest vessel, small and capable of ferrying no more than a dozen or so passengers, gently cut through the watery horizon at a leisurely pace. From its mast, the Li Clan insignia floundered languidly in the wind, a polite means of announcing the presence of the representative from the northern clan. The ship blended in with the other fishing boats, a clear display of the Li Clan’s lack of care for the pomp and circumstance entertained by a majority of the other clans. Had it been five years prior, the clan elder might have procured a ship befitting his status, yet the magnum opus of the last in a line of talented shipwrights hailing from one of their esteemed branches had gone far too many years without proper maintenance after the passing of its creator. The old gal had been laid to rest, passing on its sacred duty to a second-hand vessel less than a third its size.

Peering past the bow of the ship was a figure standing tall and proud in spite of the decaying joints of a man well past his prime. A steady wind, tossed up by the ocean’s waves and carrying the bite of its brine, sent the veil obscuring the man’s face fluttering into the salty air that frolicked about.[1] The heavy silk robe dyed a deep royal blue and adorned with golden thread accompanied its playful dance, yet the man himself stood stock still with his arms crossed in front of his chest.

“Do you find this crass behavior of yours amusing?”
asked a voice weathered with age but with a strength that spoke of his authority.

The mysterious figure turned their gaze away from the port that grew ever closer, facing the man whose visage mirrored their own. One final gust of wind revealed a wide, cheeky grin underneath the impersonator’s veil, and their form wavered, quickly growing murky like different colored inks mixing within water. A young woman who wore her hair in a purple braid that softly fell over her right shoulder materialized before the old man. A silver hairpin and elegant curves hugged by a silk bodice accentuated her beauty, but she wasn’t one to allure with coquettish charm, not with the mischievous spark in her lavender eyes.

“Given the emphasis you placed upon ensuring that we agreed to keep our true face hidden, we assumed you were giving permission to borrow your form,”
the woman, or rather the Li Clan’s envoy, answered with a playful lilt in their tone. They hoisted the metal umbrella by their side upon their shoulder and gave it a carefree spin, clearly disinterested in their clan head’s irritation.

“You’re just as insufferable as your master,”
the elderly man spat.

“Since we are all the same ‘Yinyue’, which master of ours are you referring to?”
Their voice was as light as water running through a creek in early spring.

Before Li Guangzhi could scold Yinyue, a brief series of tremors shook the ship, alerting them that the anchor had been lowered and that it was in their best interest to prepare to alight from the vessel. With a click of his tongue, the Li Clan elder flicked the sleeves of his robes before turning away and heading off to depart from the ship.

The rest of the trip to the Cliffheart Clan’s estate was uneventful, with Yinyue choosing to savor the quiet before the inevitable storm on the horizon. From the looks of it, the Li Clan was neither early nor late—not quite sandwiched in the middle yet early enough that they didn’t have to make up some variant of excuse along the lines of being fashionably late. While the envoys of the other clans kept a close eye on the leaders of their respective clans, the envoy of humility was quick to eye a familiar head of fiery red hair and depart from their clan head’s side.

Reversing their “grip” on their umbrella, they raised its handle until they were able to land two light pokes against Aureliana’s left shoulder. When their first order of business was completed, they raised the umbrella higher, just in the right position to press into the woman’s left cheek should she turn her head.

Though Li Guangzhi’s face was covered by a long veil, anyone in the vicinity could sense the scathing glare he sent his envoy’s way. However, no retort would come, instead interrupted by the boisterous exchange between the heads of the Solari and Cliffheart Clans.

“Tsk, a wild bunch as always,”
Li Guangzhi clicked his tongue, his criticism loud enough to both announce his arrival as well as express his disapproval toward the two in question.

Argin

A light, soothing humming filled the forest as a single figure walked confidently through the woods. Every step of his was met by a stone tile as the earth molded and shifted to create a custom path for Argin as he traveled through the forest, keeping his freshly shined shoes free of dirt and grime. Though there was a pleasant aura around the envoy of greed, a slight wedge of annoyance roamed in the back of his head. Of all the times for them to hold a meeting, they had to have it when his business was making such a killing for the past month. They had managed to find just the right town to suck dry of money, a seemingly bottomless pit of suckers willing to throw their hard-earned money into his casino, empty his bar shelves, and be bewitched by his many dancers. But of course, his run of good fortune had to be interrupted by the duller business between his fellow envoys. If he could have ignored it, he would, but there are some things even he can't turn a blind eye to. Argin's humming came to a sudden stop as he let out a long sigh, looking up and narrowing his eyes as the sun bled through the tree leaves above him and shined into his eyes. A small frown came to his face before reaching into his black coat and pulling out a golden and silver pocket watch connected to a black chain. Flipping it open to see the time Argin couldn't help but click his tongue in slight irritation. "Could have at least waited until the sun went down," he muttered to himself before starting to twirl the watch around by its chain, glancing behind him to see if his minion had caught up yet.

Argin had set off right as they docked their ship in the capital port and left the organization details to Lala, telling her to set things up before following after him. An uncertain frown rested on his face, wondering if she'd be capable of such a thing, but decided to put his faith in his little minion. Besides, all she had to do was get the word out of their establishment, make sure the demon employees were in their disguises, and open up shop. Business in the capital may be a bit harder no doubt with other forms of competition, but Argin was confident he could outmatch any mortal run-down excuse for a casino, bar, and strip club. Mortals were such easy beings to ensnare with such tempting things, but Argin couldn't blame them honestly. As simple and small as they were, they were quite entertaining beings to toy with. A thought crossed his mind though as he walked along the forming path before him. "Perhaps a fight club would bring in more customers, or maybe a restaurant? Both maybe?" he mused to himself aloud before coming to a stop, spotting the edge of the forest and snatching his twirling watch mid-air, opening it to check the time. "Huh, got here sooner than I thought. That's a first," he chuckled to himself before slipping his watch back into his coat pocket and making for the edge.

As he stepped through the final row of trees and brush, he came to a stop to see a familiar set of ancient ruins, still standing just as they always have. An unimpressed look covered his face, a critical eye scanning the ruins as he imagined stylish and lavish improvements that could be made. Still so dull and dead, though he expected nothing much from the ruins of a long-lost people. With his silent criticism of the place over, Argin wasted no time making his way into the ruins. So quiet, so still. Though bland on the outside, Argin gave this place credit for its calm and unmoving environment. A perfect place to lose yourself in your mind. Of course, he'd get bored eventually, but it still offers a nice moment of silence in this chaotic world. As he walked through the hollow ruins though, a familiar chill ran up his spine, making him roll his shoulders in brief discomfort before feeling it fade away. The feeling of another set of eyes glaring into the back of his head remained for a moment, the familiar yet unknown presence watching for a moment longer before disappearing as he entered a large room within the ruins. A throne room perhaps? He could never remember the exact layout of this place.

Looking around, Argin arched a brow as he scanned the surroundings before realizing that he was the first one to arrive. An amused chuckle escaped him before he slipped his gloved hands into his pockets.
"First one here, eh? Now that really is a first," he smiled to himself before strolling deeper into the room, finding a spot in the left-hand corner of the room to make his own. With a crack of his neck and a roll of his shoulders, Argin raised his foot into the air before stomping his heel into the stone floor. A sudden eruption of the earth burst from the ground before molding into a clean-cut stone chair. With a sigh Argin spun around and slipped into the chair, lying back in the newly made seat and resting his arms on the stone armrests of his chair. Crossing his leg over the other, Argin closed his eyes and decided to fall into his meditation before the others finally arrived. Counting second by second, steadying his breathing, and clearing his mind before finally... Nothing. Nothing but the rhythmic and calm beating of his own heart.

Wood Envoy

It was a silent journey between the clan head and the wood envoy. The woods that they travelled with watched their every move, like they had sensed that they had never been here before. The gentle breeze blew through the clan head’s long, blonde hair with a rectangular ornament decorating his head. His dull eyes never once got looked past the events happening in the depths of the forest; it was almost like he was unfazed with his current predicament. The only times he looked back, however, was to check on his envoy accomplice. It wasn’t like this particular envoy wasn’t capable of protecting himself but it’s the fact that this was his first time outside the realms of his clan. The pink-yellow eyes of the envoy travelled around its surroundings, taking in the foreign nature around him. “Hey, Mercher. Do you ever think that these trees were ever watered enough?” the envoy asked the long haired male. Raising his hand as if he was to touch one of their leaves, his breaths became long sighs, “They look less nurtured than what we have in Rosetum.” The long haired male, in which the envoy addressed as Mercher closed his eyes. He was expecting a question like this to escape out of his mouth but it couldn’t be helped. “Worry not of these plants, Silva,” Mercher assured him, “We have an important matter to attend to on this day.” The nonchalant tone of his tone caused the envoy to frown a bit but didn’t interject further into the conversation, following his clan head further into the forest.

It didn’t take them long to reach the capital. The both of them had left the trail the town over and met their escort near the capitol entrance. While the escort was leading the way to the Cliffheart estate by foot, Mercher had Silva hold his hand as he guided him around the capital to prevent the envoy from losing him in the crowd. While this wasn’t the most impressive trick that Mercher had done to get Silva to keep up with him, it certainly kept Silva from wandering around the cityscape.

They eventually arrived at the estate. As the escort guided them to the meeting place, Mercher and Silva kept more distance between each other. While in thought and fixing his posture, Mercher spoke to Silva with his ‘trademark’ dull tone. “The world outside of Rosetum is larger than you’d think, Rose-Flower. Not everything you would encounter outside would be quite like in the textbooks.” Silva sighs as he rests his head on his outstretched hand, already conscious of his reminder. Mercher’s public personality always intimidated the envoy. It’s difficult to spot the difference between the look he wears in private and in public but if you’d look closely, you’d can see Mercher letting his guard down in solitude.

It didn’t take them long until they all entered the meeting room. Waving goodbye to the escort, Silva was the first to take interest in the room, intrigued by the multitude of people attending this meeting. While the envoy was amazed at some of their outfits, Mercher had gone off without his consent to greet some of the clan heads.

Nasty-ass Ruins

Just like all very successful people, Levi was a very very busy demon. It was a lot of work trying to keep himself 100 notches above the others! No one will every understand how tiring it is to keep several puppets of himself running around while he himself fools around all day playing games? Sometimes he even has to take a nap to recover energy rather than just sleeping for fun. He really was suffering from success. Because now? He has even more work to do. A meeting? With the other sins? Why? What's the point of even meeting when they can all call each other through their minds?

'Who's bright idea was this again? Some of us have things to do, you know? Someone better be bringing something to eat. You know how tiring it is to hike all the way to the ends of several worlds just to visit some nasty ruins to see you bozos?' This was all stuff he would have thought to himself regardless. But since he was going to see the others anyway, he might as well grace them all with his lovely ranting! 'No offense, by the way. I meant that affectionately, mwah love you. See you all soon~' In reality, Levi didn't actually have much to do currently. He's done a lot of his 'social conquering' years ago. Painting himself as a savior while discrediting the efforts of others who tried to take any attention away from him. A man who can cure a neverending disease that others can't? Well- saying that other's can't is a bit of an overstatement. More like even if they get cured they always get sick again eventually. Since he was the one making people sick in the first place by contaminating the waters.

It's only for a little bit though~ Once they're all super thankful to him, and realize that he's the only one who can put an end to their pitiful suffering, he'll play the saint and save them all! And then tell them how unprofessional the professionals are. Who are they to try and help steal his cash cows patients? They should go find their own turf to scam on! Stupid doctors and priests. Trying to make him seem like the bad guy. Maybe they should just be better doctors and priests? Literally cry to someone who cares.

Anyway, it wasn't long till Levi arrived at the dusty ruins he always had the displeasure of seeing. Keeping Yamper tucked under his arm as the little shark kept trying to escape and run off to god knows where. "Would you calm down you overgrown piece of sashimi! You think I want to be here too? If I have to be subjected to this lovely place, then you do too." He spoke harshly. Only tightened his grip on the fussy shark. But he soon paid him no mind as he looked around the almost empty room. "What the hell?" He scoffed. Realizing that Argin of all people was the only one here. Not to mention he was sitting like he owned the place. "How do you always manage to make yourself seem more stuck up than you already are? You got a crown stashed around here too? Also why are you even here already? If I knew you were the only one here I would have slept in longer." He asked with a big dramatic sigh while walking further into the room.

A judgemental gaze scanning each and every part of the room. "If they're going to keep making us come here, shouldn't they at least make it pretty to look at? Why don't we meet somewhere actually worth someone's wild? Like a resort. Or a bar. Or literally anywhere that isn't here." He huffed before looking smugly at Argin. Did he care that the man was in the middle of meditation? No. He was going to run his mouth at him whether he wanted to hear it or not. "Speaking of fun places, where's your next casino gonna be at? I think draining one of your fine establishments of all its money would be a wonderful way to lift my mood after this snooze fest~ I'm sure the money would be of much better use in my hands!"

After arriving at the Cliffheart estate and proceeding to enter the large mansion, even when the maids and butlers had offered to relieve the hooded figure of their cloak, neither the hooded figure nor Gongyi responded to them, rather continuing to walk forward while giving the servants the cold shoulder as a response. Whispers and murmurs could soon be heard amongst the servants about the poor attitude of those from the Shen clan's head and the mysterious figure that was possibly believed to be the clan's envoy. Even so, they were ignored as the two soon reached the main hall, the elegant sounds of a piano being played was the first thing to catch Gongyi's attention as she took in the beauty of the music that played before approaching the large round table only to take her seat while the figure stood only mere feet behind the chair.

As the woman crossed one leg over the other to patiently wait for the remaining guests to arrive, mere moments passed before the next set of individuals entered the chamber. Turning her head ever slightly just to catch a glimpse of who had entered, the sight of a young male and female entering had her raise a brow at the unfamiliar male that had entered, the woman was no doubt the envoy of the Yumeno clan as she had been to the last meeting prior to this one, however, where was the old man that was the head of the Yumeno clan. Questions formed in Gongyi's head but she held her tongue for now, they could be addressed once the meeting started.

The next individuals to enter the room were a much livelier bunch, Aureliana and the head of the Solari clan, Matthias. Gongyi had planned to keep silent until the meeting had begun but as expected, the old fart had to say something stupid as he normally did. As Matthias approached her and her envoy, rather than even fully turning her head to address him directly, she faced forward before crossing her arms over her chest. "And every time we meet, you look like you're just about ready to keel over old man." Even with her insulting remarks, her tone of voice was stoic, showing no signs of any displeasure to see the old man yet no signs of joy to be meeting him either. As he introduced the next line in his lineage, she'd grace the man with her attention by finally turning her head to face the young male that was known as Hyperion. "Hmn, it appears the boy has seen combat before considering those scars on his face...but he is still very green to the politics of the world. Make sure you teach him well Matthias, the world is not all solved by being thick-headed brutes." As the woman finished her comment, she'd once more return her attention forward.
Meanwhile, the hooded figure had kept silent throughout most of the conversation between the two heads of the clans, only lifting his head ever slightly to make eye contact with the Solari clan's envoy for a moment before giving her a slight nod to acknowledge her presence as well.

Moments passed, and then suddenly the sound of the piano came to a halt causing Gongyi to direct her gaze towards the female playing it. With a raised brow as to why the music had come to a halt, the sudden arrival of the next loudmouth had caused the woman to ball her hands into fists at the irritation of how loud the head of the Cliffheart clan was being. Luckily, since the old man was not speaking with her, she'd continued to ignore the bunch while she kept her own peace until the start of the meeting.

As the double doors to the chamber creaked open as a sign of the next clan's arrival, Gongyi did not turn to see who had entered but the sound of the elderly man's voice was enough for the woman to know that it had been none other than the Li clan's head, Li Guangzhi. Aside from the Rosetum clan's head and the old man of the Yumeno clan, Guangzhi was the only other individual Gongyi could at least respect to a degree as he at least showed some form of authority of being the head of a clan. Though the Li clan's envoy was always a mysterious one to the woman, she could never exactly understand how the envoy was, it was almost as though the individual was not there, and yet, they were at the same time. She had never bothered to question it as it had nothing to do with her nor her clan, yet it always intrigued her to no end.

Minutes went by and the sudden arrival of the next clan was to be expected, this time it was the Rosetum clan. Mercher was always a strange one but one that Gongyi could respect well enough, especially since her predecessors had always made sure that the Shen clan was in good standing faith with the Rosetum clan as their gardens had always provided quite the assortment of flowers and other herbs that the Shen clan used for some of their medicines that might've been unable to grow, even in the specialized environments that the Shen clan had for their territory. While he had gone around to greet the fellow clan heads, Gongyi soon tapped her fingers impatiently on the round table as they awaited for the final clan to arrive for what felt like an eternity.

"Can we please get this meeting started? If the [Insert Air Clan Name Here] is going to be this late, then let us proceed with the meeting. For the first order of business, I must state that due to the increase in demon activity in the northern regions, the Shen Clan has decided that the price in medication that we provide to all clans and the Capital city will be increasing by 10%. My people have been getting slaughtered by these monsters in the tundra while we gather specialized ingredients that only grow in the coldest of environments! These monsters are learning to camouflage themselves in the snow!" Even though the Shen clan was not the one hosting the meeting this year, the chit-chatter between the two elderly men from the Cliffheart and Solari clan, followed by how late the final clan was being was driving her insane, it wasn't like she didn't have anything else to be doing at this very moment in time.

The Dark Envoy of Fire, Wrath
Interaction/s: Currently with Norio [ lucenti lucenti ], reserving interaction with Itzal. [ 606 606 ]
Mention/s: The rest of the sins.
Location: Outside the meeting place.
Attire: Visual

A lone demon emerged from the forest. He heaved a heavy breath as flicks of blue flames released from his mouth. He could still feel the smoke he breathed from the fire he had caused to a nearby tavern. It was too close to his liking—too close to the meeting spot where the other envoys should be meeting. Better safe than sorry, in his opinion. His robes and clothing are rich in ebony, gold, and amber silks. He is a refined demon noble from the ancient families of the old.

His ebony boot shone as he stepped out into the light, away from the shadows the forest offered. He noticed a trail of unusual stone paths that could only be the works of his fellow dark envoy, Argin. Val assumed the amber-eyed demon must’ve already walked his path to the meeting place. He was greeted at the sight of complete and utter wreckage, a once grand piece of art reduced to ruins. Once adorned with intricate carvings, the walls now lay in crumbled heaps. The grand entrance, a testament to the skill of the builders, is now a pile of rubble. It remained only as a memory to the dead.

At that moment, a voice rang in his head. 'Who's bright idea was this again? Some of us have things to do, you know? Someone better be bringing something to eat…'

Val internally groaned as he let the voice continue in his head. It’s as if the rest of the dark envoys forgot their purpose in the human realm. It’s as if they’ve forgotten why the demons broke the seal in the first place—the very mission that endangers the life and well-being of one of their own. Sometimes, Val couldn’t help but feel like he was carrying the entire responsibility for the well-being of other demons. Despite the company of his other dark envoys, Val couldn’t help but wonder if some of them genuinely deserved the power they held onto. It was a dark thought and dangerous to dwell on them, so he shoved them behind as far as he could.

Whether Val likes it or not, they are a family. And whether they like it or not, they will meet to discuss their priorities and affairs. Together, they are powerful, and Val knew that deep in his core. Val thought to himself how they could whine all they wanted; with the power and feats they were capable of, their powers must be used for the good of their realm—the demon realm.

When he had fawned enough at the sights, Valdi turned towards the approaching demon, and Nori, his long-time friend, stood there. Val nodded a greeting to the demon and reached for a handshake. “Greetings, friend. Did you find anything interesting back in the tavern?” Val paused with a realisation. “Sorry, I meant to say the now sorry excuse of a building back there.”

For a moment, Val could see his shadow wave and stutter. If his shadows were being tempered, it could only mean one thing: a close friend was nearby.

-Yukari Kobayakawa-

Interaction: Nifty Nifty

Mention: All Dark Envoys
-×-
Gentle wind swept from the north of the capital, mildly alleviating the unbearable heat of downtown Erindal. Just outskirt the bustling traffic of downtown market, one could notice a streak of purple from within a blacksmith workshop. Said purple belonged to none other than Yukari. It has been ten years since her workshop in Erindal was established. While the downtown slum wasn't the most pleasant spot to make a living, Yukari had long familiarized herself to the environment regardless.

It was supposed to be the last week of her stay in the city before embarking on her homecoming journey. Yukari was absolutely certain that nothing could go wrong. However, an unexpected event had forced her to cancel her plan.

The gathering of a large number of Envoys put her on the edge of her sanity. It was already difficult enough to maneuver under the shadow of Cliffheart family just to avoid making unnecessary problem. Other Envoys gathering in one city all of the sudden cranked her anxiety up to eleven, and that was not even the worst news of all. If the news of Envoys gathering had not drove her insane, then the presence of other Dark Envoys surely would. An Envoy fighting against a Dark Envoy is pretty much a war in itself. The entire Envoys clashing would spell doom for the capital city, and that is if they're lucky enough that no one went all out.

It was no surprise that Yukari was agitated the whole day.

Regardless, Yukari sighed a relief as she lifted a piece of freshly tempered, almost complete blade before her. The job helped her redirect some of her frustration with the ongoing situation and the rich client from the central district paid a hefty sum of golds for a well crafted decorative blade, so it's not like all doom and gloom for her.

With one last stretch, Yukari moved to the finishing touch.

-×-

With her job finally done, Yukari sets out to the forest near the city where she sensed the presence of other Dark Envoys. It seemed like they planned to gather up in the same meeting place as usual. Yukari briefly pondered why would they meet up in such a difficult place, but decided to push the question away as meeting up anywhere in the city would be unsafe for everyone involved.

The greenery just outside the city reminded of the first time she came into the capital city. It bordered right against the dark forest, so Yukari immediately dashed through the grassland as she chased the presence of other Dark Envoys. The odachi Yasakamaru was on the left side of her hip, ready to be unsheated in case things went horribly south.

As she approached the forest, her feet suddenly came to halt. The forest, already lacking in sunlight penetration as it is, seemed even darker than usual. Of course this did not bother Yukari. Such anomaly barely surmount to any danger toward her as she has trained to heighten all her senses for over a century.

"Boo!"

A figure jumped out of the wood as they attempted to surprise Yukari to no avail. The purple haired woman recognized the figure before her as Irina, a young female demon who resided near the forest. Having seen her antics several times, Yukari decided to let her be and walk past her.

"Hey, at least give me some reactions or something!" Complained the younger demon as Yukari went deeper into the almost entirely shrouded forest.

"I don't have time to play with you," replied Yukari. The younger demon decided to float around and follow the purple haired woman, her expression potrayed her frustration well.

"But we haven't seen each other for a while! I want to play!" Irina began to throw tantrum as Yukari continued to ignore her.

"...aren't you a real spoiled one," Yukari merely sighed in annoyance before she waved a farewell to the younger demon.

"Wait, wait! I can tell you something interesting!"

"Sure, run it by me," responded Yukari, not even batting an eye toward Irina.

"You're going to meet up with other Dark Envoys, right?! I saw one of them just-"

Irina would find a blade pointing right at her throat before she managed to finish her sentence. Yukari, having been ignoring her this whole time, had just drawn her odachi against the younger demon, her face tensed at the realization that a supposed nobody had figured out the meeting.

"L-lady Yukari?" Irina raised her hands in surprise.

It took Yukari a while before her expression calmed down. She lowered her blade and turned back toward her destination.

"Don't let anyone else know about this, not even your own father," Yukari warned one last time before sheathing her blade back. Not wanting to waste more time, the Dark Envoy rushed through the woods. Irina merely saw her friend went away in sadness.

"Look at you, Lady Yukari. You're the Envoy of Pride, your highness. With one command, all demons would just bow down before you whether it's the Tröll of Sami, Oni of Yamato, or even the Djinn of Mashar. And yet here you are, living a lonesome life without a throne to call your own."

The wind from the west swept away all of Irina's concerns, and as she gazed toward the direction Yukari had left her a new conviction formed within her mind.

"One day, you will be the ruler of all demonkin. That is your destiny... and my oath. Until then, I'll be Irina, nothing but your friend."

-×-

The ruin where the Dark Envoy supposed to gather was not the most pleasant place to schedule a meeting, but Yukari loves the place regardless. There's an absurd sense of serenity surrounding the ancient relics of old civilization, one that Yukari greatly appreciate as a natural loner. Had the meeting were a bit later at night, she could have appreciated the gigantic swath of northern star cluster that illuminate the otherwise pitch black sky especially during the moonless night.

To her surprise, she was not the first one to reach the location. Even more surprisingly, it was the Envoy of Greed and Envy who came earlier before her. There is also the familiar presence of the Envoy of Wrath not too far away, so she presumed that he'd join them soon anyway. While she doesn't have any strong opinion toward the first two, the Envoy of Wrath... is something else. He was simultaneously the one demon Yukari found to be as attractive as he is frustrating. As much as Yukari respected him the most out of every Dark Envoys, she'd just as often find him to be quite irritating. His explosive antics is either funny or annoying depending on what building he had burned.

For example, the very tavern he had burned down just then was the place she had frequently visited, and she was a close friend to the owner as well. This, obviously, didn't sit well with Yukari.

"The next time you're going to burn a building, consider targeting anything else but a tavern or an inn," Yukari said telepathically toward the Envoy of Wrath before resting her back toward one of the few remaining solid wall.

"Anyway, I'd love it if we can start the discussion soon," prefaced Yukari stll telepathically, her eyebrows narrowed and her arms crossed, "I don't mind being here and all, but while we're clamping up in this sad excuse of a meeting room the 'light' Envoys are currently gathering at the other edge of the city."

Pausing for a bit, Yukari glanced toward everyone else in the ruins before turning toward the general direction from which she sensed the Envoy of Wrath.

"And given a certain thing that had just happened recently, I have all the right to worry that this could end with nothing less but a disaster."

Norio
Centipede Demon
interactions: valdi Nifty Nifty
mentions: everyone currently present at the ruins
location: outside the ruins

The piles of ash crumbled beneath his feet as Norio trudged through the dying waves of blue flame. With their fuel about to run out, it would be their last sprint to reach the sky, yearning to continue their purpose of further destruction. His tail flicked just out of their grasp, as if taunting or toying with them, unconcerned with the very real possibility of getting burned in the process. Sizzles and crackles filled his vision with sounds that painted a picture of passion, and despite the absolute pain it would cause him, Norio couldn't help but imagine what he would see if he dared to remove his blindfold. To truly grasp the colours and sights that humans feared as the fire closed in on them, consuming everything they held dear. Oh, how he envied them at times.

As he continued his blind search, a movement to the right of him alerted Norio, causing his head to snap in that direction. The wind around him picked up noticeably, gaining speed as it reacted to his curious subconscious. A moment of silence passed before the ever-present grin on his face widened as he realised what exactly he was perceiving. Wasting no time, Norio leapt over the remains of several wooden tables —one of the few things still recognisable from the poor tavern— to reach what had caught his attention.

Picking up a fallen pillar, he tossed it aside and crouched down beside his find. A simple thing, really. A worn bracelet set with old rubies and small garnets. Jewels invisible to the naked eye, covered in a layer of soot and grime so thick they could easily have been mistaken for mere dirt. Yet metal and gems had a certain feel to them; something so distinct that it always made them recognisable to his senses.

"Bingo," he muttered excitedly, his hands carefully reaching out for his latest treasure. He turned around the arm to which the accessory was still fixated to, ignoring the groans the movement elicited from the surprisingly still-living person attached to the limb. "You won't be needing this where you're going. So thank you very much for your patronage!"

Norio could feel the shallow breath leaving her lungs, rubbing against her burned windpipe and catching on her cracked lips. Most of her outer skin was gone, eaten away by the same thing that had caused a piece of metal to fall on her; essentially what had trapped her in this inferno in the first place. Helpless, no hope in sight. Almost too pathetic to mock. But wasn't there a saying among humans? Eat the rich...? Well, with pleasure!

Whopping, Norio finally managed to unlock the clasp, which had melted slightly into her skin, and finally stood up in an excited rush, stumbling as he did so. He lifted the bracelet to his nose and sniffed it curiously. The overwhelming amount of ash it was covered in, mixed with the weak scent of perfume, almost made him sneeze. Yet even with such a strong smell convoluting it, it wasn't nearly enough to hide the underlying hint of gold the chain was made of. Not only gold, of course, maybe just a third mixed with iron. Still, more than ample. "Just a little polishing and you'll be right up there with the other beauties of mine," Norio swooned dreamily, turning away from the desperate pleas that began to bubble up from the lady's damaged throat. But who in their right mind would waste time on that when there were so many more buried treasures to be found? Where there was one great thing, there would be more, and Norio would see to it that they all end up to be his.

◌•············•············•◌

Covered in ash, a new demon emerged from the shadows of the woods surrounding the ruins. Not caring how out of place his presence might seem. Val had mentioned earlier what this meeting was for and who exactly the usual attendees were. Even though common sense might dictate that Norio should avoid a place occupied by beings that rivalled natural disasters, there were no explicit rules against additional guests. No way, he would leave now then. Maybe he could even get someone to spar with him. Val was already perfect, but you could only get burned so many times before it got old.

Speaking of his friend, Norio waved in his direction as soon as he was in sight of the other, making sure that Val could definitely see the gesture. Too often, he had made the mistake of assuming that he could perceive everything around him the same way Norio could. Which, admittedly, led to some rather hilarious situations, but, nonetheless, was also annoying.

Approaching Val, Norio wiped the palm of his hand on his trousers, removing most of the dirt, before accepting his handshake; his broad, sharp-toothed smile greeting the other as well. "Some things," he answered vaguely, his left pocket heavy with the loot, "if you ask really nicely, I might give you one." A meaningless offer, really, as he knew that Val was likely not interested in what Norio had salvaged from the remains the dragon had happily burned moments before. With the same fiery breath that still hung around him like a thick cloud of smoke, enveloping him and giving him an even more comforting warmth than usual. Such a stark contrast to the way Val would send a burning blaze towards his foes. The change in the air as his element happily jumped to his command. Hah, Norio could never get enough of that feeling.

"Soo, this is where you and your friends meet? Not that I should be the one to complain, but this place seems rather…pathetic. Where's all the pomp and splendour? Aren't most of you rich as hell?" The demon turned towards the fallen ruins, letting his wind drift between the rumbles as he took stock of everyone present. Three...mhm...oh, she was the one who made the air go crazy...Wait, was that a random stone chair? A little shark?!

A light laugh left Norio's lips. How amusing. His head turned back to Val. "They seem like fun," he commented happily, rocking slightly on the heel of his foot. He hadn't had the pleasure of meeting the other envoys yet, or so his memories told him, but he couldn't wait. What power they must possess as the true embodiment of the Sins. What impossibilities they could accomplish. Maybe this would end in a case of 'never meet your heroes', but at least he could brag to all the other common demons about what their 'gods' were really like.

It was this excitement that carried over to his voice, lightening up his tone. "Hey, why doncha introduce me to them?"

Argin
bed3d9de47abcf55f86fb13baba5eb7a.jpg

Detached from reality, drifting blissfully with the emptied void of his mind Argin let his entire being momentarily surrender itself to the nothingness he willingly stepped into. When he first attempted to fall into such a state Argin could barely keep his thoughts away, always being drowned by his raging thoughts in the past. Now he has centered himself in his own space, separating himself from the world to find a better connection to the core of his soul, taming his impulsive nature. Though he finds the whole meditation process to be more of a chore than anything else, he cannot deny the progress it has provided him. Even if he considered it a chore, he found slight enjoyment from the brief detachment, finding a bliss silence. Of course, this bliss would be cut short though as a familiar voice spoke up, breaking the silence and bringing Argin back to reality.

Slowly opening his eyes he was greeted by the Envoy of Envy, Levi. A faint smile slipped onto his face as he looked to his fellow envoy, propping his chin atop his gloved fist as he rested his elbow on the chair armrest. He had missed the first part of what Levi said, only hearing muffled words before fully returning to reality. Even if he may have been annoyed with Levi's interruption, Argin didn't show it, his calm mask instinctively taking over his expression. Argin Upon hearing his complaints of their bland meeting spot, Argin gave a slight chuckle as his free hand smoothed down his coat. Though as odd as he was, he shared Levi's opinion. This place, though a nice place to find silence, gets rather boring fast. A grin quickly spread across his lips as he mentioned his casino and draining it of its funds. "Bold assumption to think I'd let you do so easily," he chuckled deeply before waving his hand at the envoy with a nod. "But please, feel free to attempt it. We're currently located at the docks of the capital. Once you fail feel free to enjoy the many drinks and women, or men, we offer. I promise you'll have plenty of fun," he promised with a wink and a sly smile. "Of course, you follow the rules all demons follow when in my business," he stated before raising three fingers. "No killing mortals, always be in disguise, and no demon talk in front of mortals. It'd be bad business to have to kill all my customers because a few demons couldn't control themselves," he muttered towards the end before letting out a low breath and leaning back in his seat, a small frown coming to his face.

Talking of his business now has only reminded him of better things he could be doing now instead of attending the dull meeting. The capital was fresh for the taking, but here he was taking care of his Envoy duties. He had confidence his employees could manage well enough on their own, but the thought of sitting in his lounge, sipping on expensive liquors, surrounded by beautiful women, raking in the money from scores upon scores of the unlucky mortal masses... A loud groan escaped Argin as he swung his leg over the opposite chair arm and lounged on his stone throne with an unsatisfied look, letting out a huff of irritation as the images of lavish indulged filled his mind. He could sense other envoys growing closer to the ruins and soon was met by others of kin emerging from the wood lines. This would make five in total, a good number, but still missing two. Perhaps it was his impatience upon waiting for the others, perhaps it was his boredom from having nothing to do, or perhaps it was his frustration with this meeting coming between his business, but Argin could feel whatever it was rising from his chest and up his neck, making him rotate his shoulders in discomfort.

With a slow breath, he calmed his mind, pushing down the feeling before effortlessly sinking his fingers into the stone armrest. With a surge of his powers bolting into the ground and traveling a few feet in front of him, three thin stone pillars sprung from the ground, just tall enough to reach his full height. Towards the top of each pillar was a large ring with several small human-like figures frozen in a running motion all along the outer and inner rims of the rings. Bringing his other hand up and holding it over the ground Argin flexed his fingers, the earth below his hand cracking before several small rocks rose into the air and hovered just below his palm. With a swift motion, he snatched the small rocks into his hand and called out around at the other Envoys who could or even bothered to listen to him. "You know, I heard mortals sometimes bring things to these types of gatherings to liven things up a bit. Perhaps we could do so next time instead of being surrounded by dead stone and history? Some food, booze, women?" he suggested with a shrug before taking one of the small rocks in his hand between his fingers, aiming at the small humans within the pillar rings, and sending it flying with a mere flick of his thumb. The rock soared through the air and shattered one of the small human figures, sending the pieces scattering to the ground. "Beats the hell out of this," he muttered before firing off another, killing another stone cut out of a fleeing human.

"AHAHAHA!! WELCOME, EVERYONE! WELCOME! PLEASE TAKE A SEAT." Ignoring any complaint about his loud voice, the head of the Cliffheart Clan merrily urged the attendees to sat down on the provided chairs A handful of servants rushed into the room with smaller, plainer chairs hauled on their arms which they put slightly behind the seats for the clan heads. The servants left as quickly as they enter, giving the meeting the secrecy that it needs.

"LET'S BEGIN THE MEETING THEN!" Nodding at Gongyi's remark, Marlone officially announced the start of the meeting and sat down on his seat. Marcia followed suit, sitting on the provided seat behind him with several documents on her hands. Gongyi immediately started by announcing price increase and stated the reason. Despite his boisterous and rather casual demeanor, Marlone did take the meeting seriously and listened attentively to what was said by the clan heads.

"I see, so they are adapting huh..." For once the old man wasn't screaming his words and looks rather thoughtful. Still, his voice spiked back to his normal tone soon after.

"I CAN TAKE THE PRICE INCREASE NO PROBLEM, BUT UNFORTUNATELY WE CAN'T DO ANYTHING MORE ABOUT IT, IF ONLY..." There's a brief pause on Marlone's sentences, the head clans who had attended the meeting years before would know where this discussion would going as Marlone had ALWAYS trying to convince them to do this in every clan meetings they had before. Sometimes he would simply said 'consider my proposal' and then be done with it, but with the old man glancing at the Yumeno Clan's new head, it's clear that he intent to explain his proposal from the beginning.

"100 YEARS MY FRIENDS, WE HAVE BEEN DOING THIS DANCE WITH THE DEMONS FOR 100 YEARS WITH LITTLE PROGRESS." Standing up, Marlone spread his arms dramatically. Maybe it was the sheer confidence and resolve in his voice, or maybe this very hall was tweaked to amplify his voice, but whatever that was, Marlone's loud voice this time sounded less like an obnoxious old man and more like a commander with full authority.

"WHILE WE ARE BUSY WITH OUR OWN THINGS, THE DEMONS ADAPTED TO US. CREEPING CLOSER TO US, AND DESTROY US FROM WITHIN! I AM VERY SURE EACH CLAN HAS THEIR OWN VALID REASONS, BUT I TRULY THINK IT IS THE TIME WE HUMANS DITCH OUR DIFFERENCE, AND UNITE TOGETHER FOR A MORE HOLISTIC PROGRESS!" The old man looked at each clan head one by one. His gaze linger longer on a few people there as they're the main targets of his speech. Gongyi of the Shen Clan, Mercher of the Rosetum clan, Li Guangzhi of the Li Clan. Each of those clan had been adamant on their secluded lifestyle, and while the previous Cliffheart leaders usually left them be, Marlone had been persistent on trying to convince them to open their border. He saw it as a potential breakthrough for humanity, when everyone openly works together for the benefit of all.

"LET US BUILD TOGETHER RAILWAYS STRAIGHT TO YOUR DOORSTEP, AND BLIMP PORT ON YOUR BACKYARD! LET'S EMPOWER HUMANITY! TOGETHER WE WILL BE STRONGER THAN EVER!!" Marlone briefly concluded his speech with a little sigh and bowed.

"I won't demand answer right away, but please consider my words." Sitting back on his seat, the old man got a light tap from behind. He gave Marcia a thumb up before continuing. His tone had returned back to the annoying old man voice.

"HEAR, HEAR. MY GRANDDAUGHTER HAS SOMETHING TO REPORT! GO ON, MARS. SAY YOUR PIECE." Marcia glared at his grandfather when she heard him nonchalantly mentioning her childhood nickname like that, but she quickly reclaimed her composure and cleared her throat before starting.

"Greetings. I am Marcia Cliffheart, the envoy of earth for the last two years." She started with an introduction. Compared to Marlone, her voice sounded much more calming, albeit also quite stiff.

"I've been doing investigation on demons on my own. I can provide a more detailed reports for everyone later, but for today's meeting, I want to highlight a very recent occurrence. In fact, it happened just a few hours before this meeting. Two individuals in the slums were involved in a deadly duel, the witnesses said it was caused by a woman. During the duel, let's just say, subject A gained advantage over subject B and almost ended him, but then, subject B immediately killed subject A with the sharp end of his tail." The girl paused briefly, but it didn't seems she would stop talking soon. In a way she looks quite excited talking about this particular topic.

"That's right, subject B is a demon, a demon disguising himself as a human. I've known for a long time that organized demons exist in the city, but Erindal is a big place and its easy to hide here. I guess in a way the demons here adapted by camouflaging within the crowd rather than hiding in the snow like the ones in the north did... Apologize, I must have rambled too much." Clearing her throat once again, her voice would become a bit more formal than as she continue her report.

"That demon, subject B, is currently unconscious in one of our dungeon. I would appreciate if some representatives would be willing to accompany me to... extract some information from the demon. Having healthy discussion and gaining insight about the demons from the other regions would help us understand each other. I'm sure of it."

Aureliana Solari
The Envoy of Fire
“Oho! Yes, of course. I’m hoping he learns a lot from this meeting!” Matthias brushed off Gongyi’s previous comment, offering his grandson a pat on the back and gesturing for him to sit. While the head of the Shen Clan was often cold and distant, the old man knew her heart was in the right place, always thinking of her people first. The intricacies of economics and politics could be taught to Hyperion any time with books but experiencing firsthand how a leader acts and carries themselves was priceless. Gongyi and the other clan leaders would be great examples.

Speaking of the other clan leaders, Matthias whipped around at the sound of a familiar, booming voice. He instantly regretted it though as pain shot through his left hip from turning too fast. A constant reminder that he wasn’t in his youth anymore. “I am as energetic as I was pining after my wife in my youthful years — I commanded our ship here!”

Aureliana watched the two old men laugh and shake hands for a moment until she felt a light prodding against her shoulder. She turned her head to find the source, her cheek squishing against the handle of an umbrella. The fire envoy blinked, unphased by the poking. After a couple of seconds of silence, her lips curved slightly into the subtlest of smiles. “Good to see you, friend.” Yinyue’s antics may have overshadowed their own leader’s arrival but Aureliana’s attention shifted for a moment to glance at the Rosetum Clan’s arrival. She held no personal attachment toward their clan leader but even she had to admit that she found herself staring at his beautiful hair for longer than she’d like.

With most of the clan heads gathered, it would seem Gongyi wouldn’t entertain the time for pleasantries, immediately bringing up the first matter on her agenda. Marlone was quick to jump in and drive the meeting after that, using his loud voice to command the attention of the rest. Using the overbearing sounds to conceal her own words, Aureliana looked at Yinyue again. Rummaging through her pocket, she pulled out a small silk pouch, tied securely by red strings. Opening it, she carefully pulled out a small glass figurine in the shape of an elephant, its limbs and trunk colored a light green while the rest of its body was transparent. "For you." She held it out from them to take while turning her attention back to the meeting as soon as Marlone made it known that his granddaughter had news to report.

The report of demons seamlessly hiding in plain sight was alarming but nothing surprising to the fire envoy. They were adaptive and cunning but with a united front, she was confident they would be able to manage these threats. “We shouldn’t let a demon hinder the progress of this meeting. I will go.” Aureliana spoke before approaching the new earth envoy, waiting for the shorter woman to lead the way.

Meanwhile, Hyperion looked around the table of the clan heads, concealing his balled fists as he gathered the confidence to speak up. “Can we circle back to Gongyi’s proposal? The Yumeno Clan’s whole purpose is to hunt demons. Why raise the prices across the board when you can employ their hunters in exchange for a higher quantity of medicine?”

Zay-To Luna
Dr.Z

IMG_1321.jpeg

Zay woke up to another beautiful day in the city. The sun was shining, and the birds were chirping, but for a moment, she felt a tinge of disappointment. Then she remembered why. "Ah, today is the day of that meeting," she thought, recalling the commitment she had made. Despite feeling a little down about it, she knew she had to follow through with her promise, even if it meant staying in the city for a few more days. Only taking a small bag with her as she sat out for the day.

Zay refused to be part of the big shots meeting. She knew that being around those clowns could only lead to trouble. But her colleague convinced her to join them, promising a chance to network with the elites and get her name out there. Saying how their would-be medical staff would be on standby just in case something happened and she could be their nurse. Reluctantly, she agreed but with a condition that she would be around. Instead, Zay immersed herself in city life, clearing out a couple of betting stands and using the money to buy drinks for everyone in the taverns and bars she visited. She made it a point to try all the local drinks and shouted, "Let's party the next five rounds on me!" to the cheering crowd. This has been her routine for the past five days, and she has become a local legend. With each passing day, Zay learned more about the city and its people and she loved every moment of it.

Making her way through the city. Zay was only told of only one thing for certain the matter had something to do with the demons. However, she didn't think too much about it, as most of the demons she had come across were either already deceased or posed no real threat to her. Hence, she often chose to either ignore them or escape their company. But the fact that all the bigwigs were gathered for a meeting about the demons meant that it had to be a significant issue, and this realization suddenly dawned on her it might be a problem. But she was confident that the bigwigs officials would be able to handle it with some ease.

Zay was not thrilled that the day of the meeting had finally come. But hopefully, she will not have to attend it. To make the day even more special, she decided to take a break from her usual routine and explore the city's drinking spots. Armed with a list of all the places that served alcohol, Zay started with the boring casinos and made a small fortune before moving on to the next place. But she didn't want to stick around too much, as some sore losers always accused her of cheating, despite having no evidence. After that, she decided to check out the local bars and had a lovely time there. However, the best was yet to come, as Zay saved the local winery for last. A wide grin spread across her face as she made her way there, thinking about all the delicious wine she was about to taste. As the saying goes, "Save the best for last," and Zay couldn't agree more.

What a horrendous thing. Day time. Left to hide in the shadows, wandering around in the void of light, only able to use their gut instincts and a bit of luck to end up in the right place. Peering out into the shadows was like seeing through the darkest of rooms, shapes becoming blurred, colors absent from view, but this was home. Where they felt the most comfortable at least, humming softly to themselves as they stopped at a shadow, head tilting as they stared into the waving mass of a shadow. There was no sense of direction here. Just void, empty, nothing, just like their stomach, but at least here, they could eat until their heart's content, which is never. The only sense of perspective with the occasional wave of space, indicating there was a shadow there they could pass through. Though it's hard to tell where they might end up, the risk was something they must take.

From the ground, the shadow that belongs to Valdi began to rapidly wave and distort, and rising from it, as if there was a lift pushing them up, Itzal would appear, covered in dark heaving clothing, sun protective glasses on their face, and a mass of shadow would warp into their hands, forming an umbrella, creating a pace of shadows away from the sun the loomed over ahead. Nearly every part of their body was covered head to toe in fabric, even their hands wore jet-black gloves and the only part that was covered was their face peering from under their large hood, and a grin was plastered on their face.

"Well well well, if it isn't my favorite starlight Ravioli?" He said, stepping out of the shadow cautiously, weary of the light as they peered over their glasses, a low rumble could be heard as they spoke, coming from the 2nd mouth many know was on their neck.

"And of course a friend, unlike you to bring a friend Ravioli" Itzal would ask the two demons, the shadow created from the umbrella shooting up to create a stool of sorts as Itzal went to go sit down, truly one of the best benefits of their abilities, but was it always worth being so vulnerable to light? Itzal was still unsure even after so many years.

They glanced towards the ruins, carefully eyeing everyone who had arrived at the meeting thus far. The Earth Envoy, the water envoy, the air envoy, and then the three arriving now. This means they were only waiting on two.

We are waiting on two, earth and metal. The faster they get here, the faster we can leave, Itzal would respond to everyone telepathically, not really wanting this meeting to take any longer than needed as well but, it was important they had this meeting. It has been far too long since they have found the child, and Itzal who travels frequently through the shadows haven't sensed the child either in all of their years, which to him, was odd meaning, it must be a location they cannot reach alone, unfortunately. So this meeting must happen now.

The next time you're going to burn a building, consider targeting anything else but a tavern or an inn… Yukari’s thoughts invaded his head, and he let her speak her mind. Val raised an eyebrow at each word she spoke.

When she finally made her peace, Val released a calming breath, nurturing a calm wit before adequately responding to her taunts. I don’t recall ever asking for your opinion. Val retorted telepathically to her alone, the voice in his head dripping with sarcasm and composure, his dismissive tone palpable.

He then turned his head to his more agreeable friend, Norio.

Bits of ash still clung to Val’s hands when he shook the demon’s hands and wiped them using a handkerchief he kept in his pocket. There stood his companion, Norio. Val could still see cinders from his clothing, and with one look, the light from the cinders fizzled into a smoke. Val released a rather soft and genuine smile at his demon companion, returning his sharp-toothed grin. Val shook his head playfully at his jest. This friendly demon should know him enough from their travels that there’s nothing the human world could offer him that he doesn’t already have in his possessions. “Some of us are relatively well off, financially. But a grandiose meeting place would be…” Val paused, trying to think of a suitable word. “Arrogant? Pompous even. This place just provides a suitable place to do one thing alone: meet and gather information. And besides, it’s been like that for generations. It would be bad luck to break such a long custom.” Their camaraderie was evident in their playful banter.

Norio then shifted Val’s attention to the other Envoys present. But before Val could take his first steps, his eyes turned to his wavering shadow. He crossed his arms and smirked as a friend emerged from his shadow. Val chuckled as Itzal proclaimed him with his infamous alias. Val then turned to Norio and urged him to meet Itzal.

“Norio, let me introduce you to one of my closest friends: The Monarch of Shadows, Itzal.” Val presented Itzal. “And Itzal, this is Norio. He’ll be joining us today. He’s been somewhat helpful to me. Perhaps we might need him for our future endeavours as well.” The amber-eyed sin proudly presented his friend. Norio has proven himself worthy of such praise from the sparring match the two had recently. He’s sightless, so hold the blind puns… for now. Val telepathically said to Itzal alone.

Acedia is predictably late, so expect them to be so. But Gamori should arrive soon. Val reported back telepathically to his fellow sins. Val agreed with Itzal regarding his message and gave his fellow dark envoy a diligent nod. I will be bringing a fellow demon with me, everyone. I hope none of you will mind the extra demon. He directed his message to his fellow dark envoys.

When the little prank of theirs was received graciously by the Envoy of Temperance, their lips curled into a smirk before promptly correcting themselves to mirror that of Aureliana’s more subtle smile. Their act would continue into the opening of the meeting, eyes closed and their expression gentle yet pensive, as if meditating over the words being said. Their attention was once again called towards the woman whose fiery red locks and well-shapen visage they never grew tired of observing, and then to the little glass animals of hers that shared in their creator's beauty.

Today’s gift was a small glass elephant, clear as ice save for the ears and trunk that had been tinted a dark green. Another collection for the menagerie keeping them company during the lonely nights, though it was unfortunate that they had not been thoughtful enough to bring a gift in return.

“You have our thanks for your delightful gifts as always,”
Yinyue said, carefully stroking the crown of the glass elephant’s head with ghostly fingers which curiously passed through the string attached to the head as if they were a ghost. After the second stroke, they hooked the string upon the handle of their umbrella and carefully maneuvered their rather unconventional weapon to secure a second loop.

Purple eyes moved from the glass figurine to a hooded figure standing furtively behind the head of the Shen Clan. Given that they were the only two representatives from the water clan present, it wasn’t difficult to figure that the person was likely to be little Shen Xiao. Was this one of their strange rules? They couldn’t recall if the man had ever mentioned such a tradition during their tea times. Whatever the case, he looked absolutely stuffy, covered head to toe in such a manner.

The Cliffheart Envoy’s report and request for aid in interrogating a demon would have Yinyue drop their musings, choosing to reply with a low raise of their hand
“We humbly request to be allowed to accompany you as well. We have a few inquiries regarding several incidents that have occured in our own territories.”

Li Guangzhi, on the other hand, was far less gracious with his words on his end. Perhaps due to the envoy who had been dispatched as his guard having left his side of their own accord, his body language as he took in Gongyi’s words made it clear that he wasn’t pleased, though he soon opened his mouth to reveal that his growing ire wasn’t a result of being inconvenienced by the rise in prices.

“I say this out of the respect I bear for your clan, but your people hold the power to push back the eternal permafrost from their lands, yet nothing can be done when a few rodents trespass and hide themselves within the snow? You speak as if your struggles are not inconveniences the other clans deal with every day. The moment the first or second of those monsters reared their ugly heads was your time to take greater precautions instead of sending your people off to be slaughtered. Has your first envoy’s coddling dulled your senses, or is this all that your authority over water amounts to?”
Li Guangzhi paused his tirade, taking a moment to soothe his parched throat and his growing irritation with a sip of his tea. His gnarled hands stilled the moment the cup touched his lips, and the tea was wordlessly placed back upon the table and pushed to the side. If there were any who took note of this behavior, they wouldn’t be given time to comment on the matter, as the old man of the Li Clan soon continued.

“The Yumeno Clan stands firm as our vanguard in this war of attrition, the Li Clan has kicked aside their stubborn principles and provided their sacred armaments to whoever requires them to fight, the Cliffheart Clan offers up their resources to…”
Guangzhi trailed off, likely giving Marlone a judgemental side glance,
“to pave the way for a unified effort. The Shen Clan has made their fair contributions, I’m sure, yet why is your first order of business to address your petty profits? Does it not make more sense to propose an actual solution or request for aid?”

Li Guangzhi casually flicked his hand before softening his tone.
“Pardon me. This old man has wasted much of your time. As for a status report, we recently discovered a gang of demons running a teahouse and lacing their drinks with a poison that allowed them to brainwash their patrons. Those who weren’t slain ended their own lives when capture was imminent. They’re becoming more organized. We aren’t dealing with a ragtag bunch of stowaways. While I disagree with building railways, it would be to our benefit to establish a more effective means of communication. If you could note areas of interest as well as permit my people to access said areas freely, I can offer increased surveillance using our mirrors.”

58010ed3da8c05cec48f27ebe2f8a1d2.pngMasao stayed silent watching a listen intently as everyone spoke. Honoka seemed to be listening though she didn't seem too interested until Marcia spoke. Honoka had thoughts about that but she kept her mouth shut. Her role was to only do what she was told when it came to these meetings if she was spoken to directly then she could answer. She was also told to stay by the head at all times unless told otherwise.

Even though Masao was listening intently he didn't look like it, in fact, he looked half bored and distracted. He didn't really show any signs of being mentally present in this meeting until he heard his clan get brought up. It was suggested why not employ his hunters in exchange for a quantity of medicine. He was about to speak up but before he could get a word out Li Guangzhi spoke up. Masao crossed his arms as he glanced at everyone around the room. When Li Guangzhi was done finally, Masao spoke up. "Well, I must say for my first meeting this is all quite very interesting," Masao said with a charming smile and a hint of sarcasm. "I'd like to add my opinion into the mix if you don't mind." He looked over to Marcia. "Now seeing as my clan specializes in demon hunting might I say I don't know what you gaining insight about the demons from the other regions would help us understand each other. Understand what? What is there to understand? What insight? Demons from all regions are the same." Masao leaned back comfortably in his chair and glanced at everyone. "You know demons have human intelligence. They can adapt, disguise themselves,....." his eyes went to Li Guangzhi. "and be organized." Masao glanced at the others again. "This isn't anything new......unless you lie under a rock. " He looked back at Li Guangzhi, "Now about that Tea house have you not taken care of it? Cause I can send my hunters to slaughter those demons or Honoka can do it."

Amused, Norio's head tilted at Val's answer, his arms folded across his chest. "Too arrogant?" He hummed thoughtfully, the tip of his tail tapping leisurely on the ground beside him, "I'd say that describes some of you quite well." His shoulders rose and he shrugged nonchalantly. "Not that it's a rare trait in our kind." Arrogance wasn't necessarily a bad trait in Norio's book. If backed by the necessary strength, it was simply one's right to believe in one's own superiority over others. A natural thing; the strong would always devour the weak. Not that this precluded exceptions to the rule. After all, everyone loved a good underdog fighting against the status quo.

With the shift of Val's attention and the sudden appearance of a new demon, another envoy, Norio's own focus snapped back from the ruins to their smaller circle. It wasn't often that someone appeared so close to him without any prior notice. Almost never, in fact.

His tongue clicked against the roof of his mouth, quiet but filled with enough irritation to make up for it. Shadows... One of the few things that ran outside of his perceptive range. Rather ironic, considering that it was only in total darkness that Norio could see the world for what it was without the added protection of a blindfold. But at the moment, just like colours, it was unfortunately something that was simply out of reach for him.

Still, his smile remained on his face, even when slightly stained by his displeasure. His hands also stayed at his side, not moving to offer the other the same respect as Val. "Pleasure to meet you, Itzal," Norio greeted them, drawling out their name as if it melted on his tongue like sweet sugar. Almost a tad too strong to be considered anything but sarcastic. At the same time he directed his winds to brush against them; to get a true picture of their presence.

Beneath their deceptively simple appearance, he could sense a tangled mess of emptiness, gnawing insatiably, yearning to be filled. A vortex that would suck in and tore apart everything in its path, only to spit it out into an endless void. It was the same sense of danger that Norio had first tasted when confronted with the frenzied flames of Val's other form, and that continued to warn him whenever his friend's wrath took hold of him. Such a... delectable feeling.

His good mood returned in full force, his body language losing some of its previous tension. Turning so that his back was to the ruins, Norio grinned at his two companions as he confidently walked backwards. "What are we waiting for? If we already have a designated meeting place, we might as well go to it instead of loitering in front of it."

"I don't recall ever asking for your opinion."

Yukari had the urge to palm her face at Valdi's response, so much so that her right hand is already halfway to kiss her forehead. If air could tense up from one's emotion alone, then the air around her would've grown much heavier. The Envoy of Pride decided to tap the wall behind her rather quickly to vent out her frustration.

"This isn't about you or me, disregarding the fact that you have just burned down my favorite hang out spot. If the human Envoys find out about what you just did -- and oh boy they sure as hell will -- then they'll have every excuse to openly persecute all of demonkin with extreme prejudice. That includes the demons currently living in Erindal."

As she spoke telepathically to Valdi, there was no hint of sarcasm in her tone. Every words were spat out entirely out of anger toward his recklessness. The flimsy peaceful coexistence between the humans and demons in Erindal were built over a foundation made of extremely combustible powder keg, and all it took is someone carelessly setting up a spark for everything to be set aflame. Yukari had always been aware of that, especially with the Cliffhearts keeping a close watch on them and ready to throw hands at the slightest sign of threat against humanity. It had always been in her best interest to ensure the safety of all demons who called Erindal their home.

And then there's this random dude who swoop in like a tourist and decided to make a mess out of this fragile balance of peace. Had this random dude be not the Envoy of Wrath himself, she could've done something about it without anyone batting an eye before any of the human Envoys got involved. Alas, it was a most unfortunate time for her that he decided to live up to his Envoy title.

"I'm not going to say much about this -- let it be a topic for a different, much less intense times. All I'm saying is if you can't mind your manner, then at least mind the livinghood of other lesser demons around you," Yukari paused as her mouth curved even lower.

'Can't believe I said that to a Ralotvi, out of every demons here. Oh, ye irony,' she thought, this time keeping it to herself.

With a soft whistle, Yukari pushed out all of her frustration before she turned her attention toward a certain someone who've been playing king this whole time. The Envoy of Greed had been yapping about getting bored out of his mind, and as much as she found his suffering her entertainment, she could at least empathize with his desire for some shots of those devil's juice.

"Unfortunately, it is what it is," Yukari replied dismissively toward the Envoy of Greed with her shoulders lifted slightly, "I'd rather have all of us still completely sober in the middle of our meeting. If it's any consolation, I know a good place where you can buy a high quality wine in the city."

It was all fine and dandy until Valdi dropped a... little bit of bombshell.

"I will be bringing a fellow demons here, everyone. I hope none of you will mind the extra demon."

She minds. She absolutely minds. Her expression did not betray her thought. However, she decided not to speak out her discomfort, at least not loudly.

'Ugh, isn't this place supposed to be our secret meeting spot or something...?' Yukari thought to herself as she let out a disparaging sigh, 'what is he even thinking, bringing some stranger into a really important meeting?!'

Yukari held back the urge to walk out. The agitation of simply having this congregation of Envoys already made her uncomfortable enough that she actually considered not attending it to begin with, especially given how they have been tackling the exact same subject for many years without any relevant progress. Adding an unknown factor -- even if the Envoy of Wrath may not consider it as such -- is almost too much for someone who hates being in crowd like her.

"You do you..." Yukari responded telepathically in an almost flat tone toward Valdi, her displeasure seeping in every word but in a way which sounded like she simply gave up, "I guess it's not all that bad to have a new voice in this matter."

The loud booming voice of the Cliffheart clan leader had snapped Silva out of his train of thought. He hadn't met someone with such voice in his clan, all of their members were calm and well-spoken individuals who would only pipe up when something really needs to be discussed or a class. It was quite different from what he was used to, but he wasn't complaining. Mercher had warned him, as well as the multitude of textbooks he'd read. He opened his mouth to speak. turning his head to where Mercher should be but he wasn't there anymore. He was surprised and worried as to why his clan head wasn't there before noticing the blonde walking towards him from the crowd. "Apologies, my duty as the clan head was to greet each clan head present in the meeting," was Mercher's response. Silva nods, accepting his apology as he let Mercher guide him to the meeting table.

Mercher stayed silent during the whole meeting, listening to the input of each speaker in the meeting. He didn't have much to say as his eyes never wandered off from the clan heads, especially Cliffheart's head. He'd agreed with most of his speech, he dismissed his invitation for the clans to come closer together, refusing to take the risk the safety of Rosetum. They had stayed hidden for a long, long time. Even when the demons crept up in their territory, most of them still have not made it out of there due to the strict rules and protocols. He hums, nodding his head as the meeting continued. It doesn't look like he's going to speak up anytime soon.

Cowering behind the telepathic words she whispered behind his head, she almost made him laugh. Oh, the irony: She is clearly and admittedly the one expressing the feelings of wrath or at the slightest annoyance toward the personification of wrath itself. His dismissive tone got his fellow dark envoy into the cliffs of irritation.

The trio made their way towards the location and assigned themselves to their places by the time they arrived. Their conversation was filled with a mixture of jesting and seriousness. Undoubtedly, his fellow envoys are eager to start the meeting and get on with their day. It was then that Norio shifted his attention to move forward. His eagerness to meet his fellow dark envoys could be endearing for the envoy of wrath. It would be such a shame that some of his fellow dark envoys won’t share some of his enthusiasm. Living for so long has turned some of them tired and in ruin.

“Well, Norio, let me introduce you to Argin, Levi, and Yukari. And everyone, this is Norio. He is a trusted ally of mine.” Val greeted each dark envoy with a polite smile and nod. He was genuinely glad to see they were fairing well, except for one, at least. Val even regarded the shark known as Yapper with a warm smile. Once he left Norio to get acquainted with his fellow dark envoys, he gave Yukari a nod to the side, requesting her presence privately.

“I just have to address this to you directly. You talk of manners when it is clear you don’t have any. You’ve portrayed yourself with more aggression and venom to me than I have to you. I get you’re upset, but channelling that anger towards me, a fellow dark envoy, is disgusting, in my opinion.” His face remained calm and composed with each word he spoke. Unlike Yukari, Val doesn’t hide behind his telepathic mind. His confrontational nature prevents him from doing so anyway, and it is within his reasons that it is simply such an impolite manner to converse.

“And if you’ve tossed your coins with your human friends, then perhaps you’re no longer needed here in this meeting?” He could feel his anger slowly rising, and he breathed again while holding the bridge of his nose. He prevented himself from getting lost in his wrath, a difficult task to achieve once he had attained the sin of wrath. But alas, he is a Ralotvi. His blue flames are a herald of that fact.

Once he had the correct temper to converse, he started speaking again, calmer and more settled. “Apologies. I’m not saying you should leave, but let me remind you of the horrendous things they’ve done to our kind. Despite the prejudice humans feel for our kind, nothing can change that fact alone; no amount of kind acts can take back decades of scars that both sides have left each other. A demon family who started living a peaceful life in my territory were chopped to bits and paraded around as trophies. In times such as this, there is no good or evil.” He breathed through his nose, composing himself as he felt the guilt and cold wrath bubbling within him once again. “The humans knew what they would be unleashing once they mutilated one of our own. So pick your side, Yukari. Are you with them? Or are you with us?” He crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow at his “ally.” Her fondness for humans may prevent her from accomplishing the responsibilities of a dark envoy. Therefore, this could harm his other sins, whom he considers family.

His eyes drifted over to Itzal and Levi. The thought of them being waved around like some sort of trophy annoyed and frightened Val. Their safety and well-being are among his top priorities. So, a question wafted steadily in Val’s mind. Why couldn’t Yukari channel all her compassion to their cause instead? All would be better and easier at that point. Why must she be so tricky?

After all, a dead dark envoy would be much more useful than a treacherous one, he silently thought. Val eyed her with his amber, almost blood-red eyes, challenging her resolve.

As the two opposing sides conversed with one another during their ongoing meetings about their current predicaments and simply enjoying their time together, deep within the heart of the Capital City of Erindal, a large group of hooded men and women marched their way into the center square of the city where seven towering statues sculpted in the image of the original seven Envoys stood surrounding a massive fountain. All around these statues were tourists from all over the globe coming to take pictures as well as merchants setting up shops all over. The square was a gathering place for all to come to commemorate the original seven Envoys for all that they've done for the world to be in the state of peace as it is now. However, not all see the work that the Envoys did as a positive thing, some believed that the chaos with demons roaming everywhere originally was a positive as the world before the Yumeno Clan had plenty of bounty hunters and mercenaries who charged innocents for services. After the Envoys had come into the picture and removed the demons from the world then the creation of the clans, many families were either forced to live under the servitude of clans or to live their lives in Erindal while trying to find some way to make a living when their experience was in killing. Even if the years have passed since the old generation, the new generation had to learn from their predecessors and with only the knowledge of how to kill to survive, they believed everything they were told, rather than seeing how the world has many other opportunities for them.

As the group of hooded figures began to go their separate ways, a handful of them approached each of the statues individually, pushing aside any tourists or merchants that stood in their way. As they fiddled on the base of the statues, moments later they each sprinted away from the scene only to all rally behind another hooded figure who held a remote in hand. As they mouthed a couple of inaudible words, the moment they flipped a switch on the remote, one of the statues exploded causing a chain reaction that made the other explodes go off one after the other. Screams and cries filled the air as the explosion could even be heard by those outside of the city's limits, as the statues crumbled, large plumes of smoke rose up into the sky as the city's emergency sirens went off.

The moment the city's authorities arrived on the scene to arrest the terrorist group as well as putting out the fires, the hooded figures were quick to begin combatting them. Meanwhile, the assumed leader of the group proceeded to approach one of the large piles of rubble before climbing it to prepare their speech.

Prior to all the chaos that ensued, after Gongyi had started the meeting regarding the rise in medicine prices that would be sent to the Capital City as well as the other clans, the first to respond to her matter appeared to have been the host of this whole meeting; Marlone. At first, it seemed as though the man was going to simply agree to Gongyi's rise in prices until the man came to a pause amid his sentence. With arms crossed, the head of the Shen clan stared in silence as the ever-loud man spoke about the unification of the clans due to the rise in demon threats across the globe. The thought of opening the Shen Clan's borders to outsiders aside for festivities was always a proposition that the head of the Cliffheart clan had announced at every meeting prior to this one. Normally, Gongyi would be quick to respond to refuse such an act as the Shen Clan has always been hidden in secret for the safety of its people for both physical dangers as well as financial ones. Although with the rise in death tolls within the clan, the woman started to ponder on the thought of whether breaking tradition might be the best option after all, even if some of the elderly folk of the clan might be against the idea, surely they would eventually soften up to the idea as she was clan head after all.

As the Gongyi kept silent so that she could think upon the proposal, Marlone was quick to introduce his granddaughter, Marcia Cliffheart, also known as the current Envoy of Earth. So, it appeared as though the Cliffheart Clan had lost their previous Envoy recently if this girl has become the new Envoy for only the past two years. Rather than question the matter regarding the cause of death of the previous Envoy, Gongyi simply listened to the female's investigation details on a case about what seemed to have been information about demons hiding within the walls of even Erindal. Hearing how the largest city throughout the land had demons walking amongst humans in broad daylight caused the woman's eyes to widen. At first, Gongyi had believed the demon threat was simply rising only in the northern tundra but now this information proved it; the demons were becoming more intelligent over time and even becoming more organized. 'What is happening...? How can this be? How can these monsters be wandering amongst humans without anyone taking notice?!...' As the woman was lost in thought, the fact that Marcia had spoken about how one of the demons was captured and locked away in the clan's dungeons was completely missed. Even when the Envoy of Fire spoke up about leaving with Marica, Gongyi was far too lost in her shock that she hadn't even noticed.

The moment the head of the Li Clan addressed Gongyi on her matter, she snapped out of her trance-like state only to shift her gaze towards the other older gentleman. Her piercing icy blue hues glared towards the man in silence as his comment clearly touched a nerve inside the woman, while she normally would show no signs of being affected by such petty insults if they were simply directed towards her, the fact the man spoke of her clan directly in such a manner caused her to dig her long sharpened blue nails into her palms til signs of her crimson blood began to drip onto the sleeves of her white dress.

"I hold no ill will towards any of your clans. The Shen Clan is more than capable of dealing with the matter of these insolent wretches. I simply wished to bring up the rise in prices for medicine as a matter of financial means as well. We have plenty of warriors on the ready to guard our gatherers, however, with the problem of these rising demons, we must also take alternative routes when delivering medicine to avoid these creatures from sinking our vessels. Those alternative paths also mean the increase of fuel." As the woman spoke, she kept her composure and calm demeanor as best as she could to avoid lashing out before her gaze temporarily gazed over towards the Yumeno Clan's new head.

"Let us not forget. It appears as though the Yumeno Clan also has a new face for its head. While I may not know the details of it yet, I would assume the demon-hunting clan is also having quite a troublesome time as of recently as well, no? If they have lost their previous head, who am I to be going to them and asking for aid when they are in such a dire circumstance that they have such a young face as their new head...?" Although Gongyi did not speak directly toward the new head of the Yumeno clan, her comment was also indirectly pointed toward him as well.

Next to speak was the very clan is question, the head of the Yumeno clan. As the young male spoke toward that of the Envoy of the Cliffheart Clan as well as that of the Li Clan on the matters of the rising intelligence of the demons as well as the need to understand the demons, the sight of how laid back the new head of the Yumeno Clan acted nearly annoyed Gongyi to no end. It was enough to hear Li Guangzhi speak poorly of the Shen Clan, but the moment this new child practically spoke of the fact how him and his clan knew the demons were becoming more intelligent but acted as though everyone just happened to know was the final push. Standing from her seat with sudden aggression causing her chair to be knocked back and down, the woman slammed her bloodied palms onto the round table. Just as she was about to speak her mind, the sound of the erupting explosions followed by the tremor from the shockwave hitting the entirety of the city nearly caused her to lose her balance.

"Xiao!"

The moment his name was called forth, the hooded male that had stood behind Gongyi in silence the entirety of the meeting lifted his hood to finally reveal his face. "Right." Without the need to share words, the look on the woman's face alone was enough for him to know what to do, immediately, he'd turn on his heel before sprinting out of the estate. Charging towards the towering plumes of smoke in the distance, Xiao had tossed the large blue cloak only to toss it towards one of the Shen Clan's guards who stood at the entrance to the estate still keeping guard the entire time. Finally adorned in his usual combat gear, he'd head toward the source of the commotion and chaos.
