Hello, you! Yes, you! I'm Cicada, and I am also a huge SAO fan, and I would like to make an RP out of it! If you would like to help me make it, PM me. Anyways, with that out of the way, he is my idea.
After the fall of Argus and RECT, it was assumed that the idea of FullDive technology would be discontinued due to the extreme infamy that the system was getting. This didn’t come without justification, as numerous different issues had given the populus plenty of reason to holds such scepticism. To name a few: The Aincrad Incident, The Phantom Murders, and numerous others that usually related to the entrapment or casualty of hundreds to even thousands of people. In the end, the demand for VRMMO’s escalated to a surprising degree and the numerous faces who presented their desire to see it put to an end dissipated into the background.
With the failures of past companies a new group arose, The moniker they went by was simple. Lazarus. This group made great strides to appease both the mass public and that of the sceptics, development of a new FullDive machine came to be known as it was considered the Fifth generation of its breed. It went by the name of SubOptic, a technology which took inspiration from both of its predecessors. It used the same high-frequency transmitter to connect the user's brain to that of its technology, allowing for it to redirect the commands given by the brain to the virtual avatar. Its design was less like that of the Nervegear, and more like that of the AmuSphere.
Retaining the helmet-like appearance of the Nervegear but a wide visor moves around the majority of the user's head, instead allowing for the owner to use their peripheral vision when it’s deactivated. Much like many other FullDive systems, it requires a long and complicated calibration system to get used to its user. Then eventually allowing them to move within the online worlds.
Popularity for one of the most well-known games, Sword Art Online, was put back into effect with this new technology and the Lazarus company complied. The world being released, this time it had been done with twice as much content and the capabilities to handle even more than ever before. Fame for such has grown and with the release of the game restricting players to the first level it had named a “Safe” version of the previous failure. From here the rest of the world would be opened, and the beginner level cap relinquished freeing its users from the “Trial version” and into the full world. Is this the turning point for VRMMO’s or the second coming of something terrible? Credit to Entity.Eclypse for making the entire thing.
