Swiftwood High is a normal looking high school in the quiet town of Swinford. However, most do not know that the students in this high school is a mixture of werewolves and unsuspecting human students. You arrived at the school just now, being put into a class as normal-looking as any other. It is up to you to discover the stories of those around you and step forth into new, exciting adventures with your super-natural classmates.

  • No godmodding/bunnying/etc
  • No one-liners, please make an effort. (Emotes for rolls do not count.)
  • No Mary Sues/Gary Stus
  • Original Characters only
  • I reserve the right to deny any character, I will provide reasons. Three denials results in a ban from this RP. My word is final.
  • No colours in your posts, please. It's unnecessary.

  • To prove you've read these rules, please post a quote from your character in blockquotes at the bottom of your character sheet.
  • Third person please, no asterisks. (He went over there and poked a hole in the wall. "By jove! It's a hole!")

You can be one of three species: Lycanth , Human or Vampire. When you choose, please note your abilities and limitations.

Lycanths (werewolves)

Lycanths, as most of us surely know, are werewolves. Werewolves are caused by the Lycanthus V (also known as L5) virus, which spreads through the contact of blood ONLY. (e.g. open wound on someone came in contact with werewolf blood, the person will turn into a werewolf slowly.) Werewolves, in human form are almost identical to normal humans in physical appearance and abilities, but are deadly afraid of anything containing silver, as it burns them under direct contact. Werewolves become wolves under a full moon (which cannot be stopped) and would return to human form once out of the moonlight. (e.g. werewolves can’t change if the night of the full moon is cloudy. Changed werewolves would return to human form when night is cloudy.) Werewolves could change partially (e.g. human body showing certain wolf features such as claws replacing finger nails, eye color change, etc) under extreme emotional stress, even if circumstances are not suitable. There is NO cure for Lycanthus V, which is also passed on from mother to child via childbirth.

Vampires

Vampires are people who are affected with genetic vampirism (cannot be cured) or Incurred vampirism, which happens when they are bitten by a vampire. This heals over time naturally, but the patient acts like a vampire during said period of time. All vampires are unaccustomed to (but not killed by) light, and usually have a paler complexation than those around them. Some mistake them for albinism, but they, unlike albino humans, have brown (instead of pink-blue) iris. Vampires, however, can be harmed by direct contact with silver. The smell of garlic, although not lethal, would cause nausea to a vampire. Vampires prefer to operate by night.

Humans

Humans are humans. Nothing special, unless you know the arcane arts, then things get interesting…..

Magic

Magic - the synonym for performing the impossible, is actually a forgotten ability of the common man. One might believe that magic can only be conjured by those especially gifted or talented, but the truth states otherwise. The phenomena one calls “Magic” are simply the amplification of the conjurer’s will, utilizing “The Spark” which resides in them to amplify and strengthen mere thoughts to twist the fabric of reality. Everyone is born with a spark, but that spark, like an unattended fire, dies with the progression of age provided that one does not train in the arcane arts before adulthood. Even so, the strength of one’s spark depends on the age of which one begins training, of where its intensity stabilizes. As a result, younger magicians having a greater potential for magic than those who discovered their talents at a later age.

Vampires and Lycanths cannot use magic as their shapeshifting nature extinguishes the spark. However, Lycanths could still use charged-based magic (Use a spark crystal to conjure magic instead of using spark), unlike vampires.

Each person’s spark is different, but could be categorized into 3 main elements: Earth, Fire and Water. The difference in element does not prevent one from performing the simplest of conjurations, but limits the user to certain “elemental” magic if one trains their spark beyond a certain level. This is caused by genetic differences in the brain, altering the structure hence forming a limiting factor to one's magic abilities.

One might think that Magic can help one achieve anything and everything, but sadly, this is not the case. Magic has its limits, so you can only conjure spells mentioned in the skill tree (only those you trained)
