The swamp is familiar. The texture of spongy loam beneath your feet is like the touch of an old friend. The nutrient rich waters around your knees form the stock of an ancient soup saturated with green things and simple life. For thousands of lifetimes this quagmire has been feeding the sacred mangroves and tending to the root-web of a tangled forest which in some respects is even greater than the towering hardwoods of the Eldrin. In a way, the relationship between your people and the swamp is even deeper than that of the Eldrin and their trees. The swamp speaks to you as a loving parent speaks to its child, unlocking mysteries and teaching unlearnable things.
The bog creatures and mosslings fill your ears with a discordant symphony you have known since the days you spent as a sightless nymph within the safety of the spawning pool. For many years this swampsong was your only lullaby. Clickings of sap-gathers… grunting of water boars… the chirps and songs of small winged things interact and syncopate with a complexity inlanders have trouble grasping. Orgim snow-seers, Eldrin wood-whisperers, even the great Patna archwizards have spent lifetimes trying to decipher the swampsong. None have found success. None shall. The swampsong is a gift and not something to be dissected and understood. It connects you to your home, giving you a preternatural awareness that seems magical to outsiders. You are Silvini, and the swamp is your sanctuary.
(This will be a medium-length campaign in which you, a lizard-like Silvini must guide a brood of younglings into a new era where the quiet, tribal lifestyle of your people is upheaved. You will need creativity, wits and decisiveness to prevail against the dangers that await you. This campaign will be game-like, and will not be for the faint of heart.
