Quick Summary: Every 5 turns, this high-fantasy world will continue to fall apart from multiple threats. You must either play as a hero—a person with unique skills to to help against the rising threats—or as the leader of a group (kingdom, town, mage tower, etc.) that can supply heroes with items, equipment, troops, and more, while also protecting your own people.
Each turn, you can choose to either grow your power in some way or go out and vanquish threats before they come too large and threaten to overrule these lands.
This is a game I hosted in other places and decided to bring it here to see if there's any interest.
___
Heroes
An individual who can contribute to pushing back against these threats.
The skills they possess do not have to be purely combative. These heroes can be warriors, magicians, spies, merchants, teachers, researchers, etc. Any role is fine.
As a hero, you can help nurture the groups you decide to support. Whether by bringing back resources from the wild, collecting rare artifacts, or training the soldiers recruited by other players, these groups can, in turn, provide you with the gear and backup you desperately need. However, this is not an ironclad rule. This is an RP, so feel free to explore other options.
Each turn, you can choose to train or learn new skills, or set out into the wilds to destroy a threat.
Faction
This player controls a local group on the map, such as a city, town, tribe, tower, etc. You can choose to either RP as the leader of this group or just as a general member of the group (the civilians, soldiers, merchants, etc.). If you want to RP only as the leader, that is fine; anyone else is just extra flavor.
You can be placed anywhere on the map, controlling only ONE city (all your other cities have already been destroyed by threats).
Each turn, you can build/upgrade buildings, muster new troops, research new technology, etc. However, the cost of some of these actions will require resources that can only be found in the wild. You must have a fighting force and/or a hero to go out into the wild and bring back resources to grow your location.
(Factions do NOT inherently need heroes. It is perfectly valid to beat this game by yourself.)

Important Info
This is an RP first and a game second. This means that the session is meant to be fun for everyone. This doesn't mean I am discouraging behaviors aimed at trying to win. In fact, this game is going to be very hard, and everyone will struggle. There won't be enough resources or food for everyone, and your population will suffer.
What I'm trying to say is that, in my experience, the most fun players have is when they try to win but also roll with the punches.
Your grand city got destroyed by a dragon? Instead of being mad about it, gather your survivors and RP that your people swear vengeance against the dragon and rise from the ashes.
Character lost a limb? Find ways to improve your character and have an arc where they still try to grow despite this setback.
Struggles are hard, but rising against them in an RP is fun.
