The year is 2018 but the past 1000 years of history have been very different. In the year 1018 a radioactive comet passed by earth. The strange radiation altered the DNA of humans all over the world. Many died from the radiation, in fact as much as 70% of the planets population died. It was the worst disaster in recorded history. Yet it brought a strange new addition to the survivors chromosomes. The superhuman gene. Not everyone possesses this gene, and not every one who possesses the gene will have powers. It usually comes from some form of trauma in life awakening the gene. At first those who gained powers were regarded as monsters associated with the disaster that claimed so many lives. The dark ages started early as many were rounded up and burned alive. Yet they ended in the year 1106 when a group of super powered knights reversed a natural disaster and saved an entire unsuspecting city. The Era of the hero began. Powered individuals were given proper training and direction with their abilities and the world knew peace in 1476 when the English empire conquered the world using these knights. Yet is was short lived. In 1512 the japanese nation brought together their own super soldiers and pushed the english back to the middle east, uniting with china to become a nearly unstoppable force. In 1547 the Russian empire followed suit. Between then and 1712 independent nations rose all over the world under their own super human groups. Then in 1776 an elite group of superhumans as sent overseas from england to what would become the united states. With them a superhuman named George Washington born with enhanced intellect. He knew that if they revolted the english empire would be crumble from expending their resources. They allied themselves with the native people of america and pushed back the english with ease. The english empire retreated to gather its strength but civil war broke it into many different nations. With their power broken and the rest of the world scrambling to pick up what they could the first world war occured in 1856 and lasted a grueling 58 years finally ending in 1914 due to the loss of 60% of the worlds population. After this the world existed in a great depression for 36 years until in 1950 albert einstein and nicolai tesla invented the personal fusion core. Having solved any need for fuel with a limitless supply of clean energy, they united the world promising nations with little food water or energy a solution. With fusion cores nations could grow crops year round. Space that was once held by coal mines and oil derricks would be occupied by farms. By 1972 the world was united in peace, by 1978 world hunger was eliminated. Yet peace is a fragile thing. In 1982 an alien invasion occured. Humanity had barely recovered from the war when they came. When all seemed lost a group of superhumans saved the planet. Since then super heroes have become bigger celebrities than movie stars and musicians combined. Armies and police forces work with them and best of all its a well paying gig. Over the past 36 years the hero population has risen to over 770,000 globally. Which brings us to modern day. 3 days ago the comet from 1000 years ago came back around and slammed into the Antarctic, directly on the south pole. The object was the size of mount saint Helens and its impact caused global earth quakes. Yet that is not the strangest thing, satellites have detected massive chunks of ice being launched into space 3 days after the impact. The world government decided to gather the 7 most elite heroes to investigate this....but what will they find?
