  • IMG_7162.jpegName: Demon Lord Akuji
    Age: 1,234 years or so
    Gender: Usually male
    Race: Demon
    Personality: Menacing
Background: Akuji just suddenly existed— at least, he doesn’t remember if he was always a demon or if he was a human that died. Back then, different light celestials ruled different regions but humans were none the wiser. They just squabbled with themselves. Demons, or monsters, depending on the region, were feared in the dead of night in the wilds, but the walls promised safety. As the demons grew in strength, the celestials made themselves known by gathering heroes via the Slayer Guild.
Centuries of war, Akuji managed to claw his way through the demon ranks and took his place as Demon Lord after discovering he was Prince, bastard son to the one that had sat upon the throne.
Long lives trump the pesky fly lifespans of the humans and when Lord Akuji finally managed to build his army up strong enough, getting rid of the last pesky Slayer that stood in his way.
    Now— Eden is all his.
The pesky hero that crops up every once in a while is no longer able to match his mid-level warriors.
Place of Origin: High fantasy world called Eden, a world that once held high hopes and dreams and light celestials ruled the roost. Now it’s a world of darkness, and demons call the shots. Humans are playthings.
    Abilities
    Gender Swap
    Shadow Walking
    Total Command (demons obey)
Emotional Turmoil (humans cower or fall to their truest desires)

  • zee-oh.png
    Name: Zee-Oh

    Age: ??? (He doesn't know)

    Gender: Male
    Race: Human-Reptile Hybrid

    Abilities:
-Enhanced Physique (Strength, Agility, Durability, Stamina, etc)
    -Wall Climbing
    -Elastic Tongue
    -Sharp Fangs
    -Retractable Claws
    -Superhuman Regeneration
    -Enhanced Eyesight
    -Big Tail
    -????

    Appearance:

Height: 175cm/5'9" (364cm/12' from head to tail tip)

    Weight: 118kg/260lb

Note: His body is not entirely covered in scales, rather they are only located around his shoulders, forearms and legs, his skin is just green which makes them more seamless.

Personality: Zee is the equivalent of that friendly neighborhood stray dog who's chill with everyone. Having little natural interactions from humans since he can remember, his ability to communicate with others is very simplistic, saying what's on his mind pretty bluntly and without a single trace of sarcasm, to the point he's basically incapable of lying unless it's truly necessary.

Having lived most of his life in the wild, Zee has little knowledge of human common sense or etiquette, he might be willing to just pounce on a bird for lunch amidst a conversation, or follow you to the bathroom, all while being confused if you were to react about it, however he's not stupid and can adapt quickly if told enough times about how to do things.

Zee is also extremely curious, due to his limited worldview, anything that's outside of his comfort zone is utterly captivating. Should he be in the company of someone knowledgeable, he would ask endlessly about the things that catch his eye, for better or for worse. Despite his immense curiosity, he's still not the sharpest tool in the shed. He's overall pretty absent minded and even scatterbrained, and his lacking social talents means he's most of the time incapable of picking up on lies or sarcasm or double meanings.

Zee is also naturally very friendly towards humans, making it very hard for him to engage in combat with them. Even if he's being attacked, he would rather flee than engage, the latter only happening if it happened to be his last resort. He's not quite sure why is this the case, considering how much humans have mistreated him in the past. Maybe it is because of his naturally friendly personality, or maybe because he's still in close contact with his human side? Who knows, he certainly doesn't.

Background: Zee has existed for a long time alone in the wilderness, surviving and generally living his best life, he's had very little interaction with humans beyond his childhood, most of the time being swordsmen who tried to capture him, despite this, he could never bring himself to hate or even dislike humans...

Place of Origin: Zee is not all that aware of much of his original world, he mainly lived in a luscious green jungle, but remembers well that in the past, he lived surrounded by humans who possessed loads of magical objects, in a rocky place underground, their leader was known as the "King"

Neon purples, indigos and yellows — sometimes literal neon tubes — accent her monochrome palette of a wardrobe. With a tendency to dress in masculine formal wear 90% of the time and impractical tulle skirts 10% of the time due to the difficulty of finding salvageable tulle, her clothing is fairly distinctive for someone going through the apocalypse. She’s always trying to get her emo-looking brother to try something brighter because he can’t wear that same damn coat all the fucking time. It was cool at first, but it’s been years holy shit my dude how is it still alive.

“Hey, princess. You better learn to dodge fast ‘cause these bullets aren’t slowing down for your noodle-ass legs.”

A cheeky little bastard with an arrogance the size of two moons, Min-Su grew up bulldozing her way through the apocalypse with her unending supply of highly lethal weaponry and a brother with a resting bitch face that rivalled any speculative villain. As a child, she somehow got it into her brain that she was the one everyone was afraid of, not the tall dude standing menacingly behind her, and she’s gone through every encounter blissfully unaware since.

She can’t admit that she’s incorrect for the life of her, but give her a couple of hours and she’ll realize she was wrong enough to want to make amends — not through apologizing, obviously, but by doing little quality-of-life favours for the other person.

Down to join any uprisings and violent acts for the greater good — not that there’s much of that in the apocalypse, since regional governments have collapsed and circumstances don’t allow for large-scale administration — Min-Su is a true rebel without a cause that is willing to use your cause as a reason for going pew pew. Give her any reason, any at all, and she’ll use it to justify her overzealous bombardment of [insert vaguely adversarial thing here].

Apart from her love of launching metal at high speeds, she’s also found a hobby in recording everything in front of her eyes with an old Polaroid camera. From concrete ruins to old signs and remnants of life prior to the end, Min-Su photographs her environment so that someday, when she has to destroy it, the pictures will remind her of what was once there. But the one who appears most in her album isn’t an inanimate object; it’s her brother. She fears that one day, he too will disappear like the rest of her family — like he did before, but this time it will be forever.
    Background
    TL;DR
Damn, can’t believe you’re actually alive, bro.

The end of the world was upon humanity before she was even born. She regretted missing the experience of those who were once the top of the food chain, but having no real context for the stories her parents told, she couldn’t truly mourn what was lost.

Then her parents died, and she mourned for what she did lose. But as with all difficult matters in an era where basic needs might not be met, she eventually repressed the event into a distant memory. There were no therapists working in the apocalypse after all, and their aunt was never one for empty reassurances, so this was the best a half-grown child could do.

While surviving with the abilities the siblings had made a world of difference — she was no remnant of humanity trading lives for scraps — it didn’t mean it was a smooth ride. Their aunt had gone missing after searching for supplies one day, and when Min-Su finally resigned herself to the fact that she was gone, it dawned on her. This was what would eventually happen to everyone she loved; this is what living in an apocalypse meant. Having firepower had deluded her to the reality of civilization’s end, and now that her entire family was gone but one, she was horrified that she hadn’t realized sooner. She clutched her brother all the tighter for it, dreading the day he, too, would leave her.

The curdling apprehension in her gut was not for nothing, as a year passed. Two, three, four, five… a decade. As an adult, she dismissed her childish feelings of anxiety. Nothing had happened yet, and she believed she had the ability to protect him after her powers advanced. But the world moved according to no person’s wishes, and the time came when she regretted again.

She wasn’t fast enough. It was an instant. He was there, and then, he was gone. Vaporized in a flash of light. There were no remains to bury, no physical body to cry over. It was like he had never existed at all.

Two months of denial and anger and unnecessary violence towards anything that tipped her over the brink wasn’t enough to get her to the last stage of grief. When he came back, she couldn’t believe it. She was furious, but more than that, she was overjoyed. For the first time in two months, she could smile.

But as days passed, that curdling unease didn’t abate. Was he truly here? Could it be so coincidental? He just happened to shift to another reality after death, gain powers that made him functionally immortal and disappeared every so often? She pushed the thoughts down as they appeared, ignoring her suspicions. If he was a hallucination, let her live in this false version of the world; she could not go back to the real one after hope was blatantly displayed in front of her face.

As They Are
If They Were Human
  • As They Are
    Name
    Yeong-Su Yoon | 윤영수
    Age
    29
    Gender
    Male
    Race
    Human
    Appearance
    HEIGHT — 184 cm | 6'0

Always seen in the same black coat and dark clothes, Yeong-Su has a tendency to contrast his extremely colorful sister; not out of malicious intent or desire to be different than her but because those are the ones that typically fit him. Besides, it was easier to walk in and it prevents attention from being drawn towards him. And it is a very cool coat thank you very much and no, it is not the same coat shut up.
    Abilities
“I can teleport anywhere in a blink of an eye and I can stuff this blade into your throat faster than that.”

    • Teleportation
Yeong-Su is capable of instantaneous teleportation within a certain field. He can also teleport people as long as he is able to touch them. He is also able to teleport objects that he touches into any space, even in between objects. This allows for destructive potential.
    • Reality Shifting
Yeong-Su has the capability of traveling to other realities and dimensions. Unfortunately, it is not something he can control and is often just a nuisance. Most of his reality-warping last for only a second to a few hours; but to him, it feels much longer than that.
    • Apparent Immortality (?)
Yeong-Su has shown the capability of appearing back into the plane of existence, alive, whenever he gets killed. He is uncertain how this is; however, he sometimes appears to have some missing memories or something that doesn't add up.
    Personality
    648808f78af65261c124c61436edd21d.jpg
“I really would implore you to shut up right now or we'll both find out it would look like when you have a pipe up your ass.”

Yeong-Su can be described as tired. Due to his constant worry of shifting realities and living through them, he could barely function properly in social events. In fact, there are times when he would suddenly stop, disappear and come back in a split second and he would look like he had gone through a war— which wouldn't be a first. To others, he would often be seen as cold and serious, his face always settling on a glare as he allowed his sister to talk for him. He could even be called haughty if one really pushes it.

However, that isn't actually the case for Yeong-Su. He would often just be confused and just let Min-Su handle socialization aspects to make sure that he doesn't mess up. He is a rather fun-loving person and finds enjoyment where he can. He would help wherever he can and fulfill any promises he has given out. He's often polite and respectful when one actually decides to talk with him. He would often get into fights with his sister but nevertheless deeply cares for her and her wellbeing.

To the old and wizened, Yeong-Su appears to be older than he seems— like a man who has lived through many lifetimes. And perhaps there is some truth in this. Though he does not appear to visibly age in the realities he shifts into, he does live through years in them. Memories of other realities blend into each other leading to Yeong-Su's dissociation from the present. His first priority is always survival— for his sister first before his own. He does seem reckless but tries his best to not actually die due to the drawback of some of his memories missing. He fears the day that its consequences would be much worse than just his trivial knowledge.
    Background
TL ; DR — Please, I want to stay here.

When the world ended before you were born, it was easy to move on with life without really looking back. He and his sister grew up in the apocalyptic wasteland they knew as simply the normal state of their world— monsters of technological make that had mutated to gain some form of sentience and hatred for humanity.

To their parents, this was hell. To them, this was home.

Yeong-Su knew that this world was cruel. It took and it took and it never gave. His parents died. However, it was all too easy to move on. Move on in the sense that you had no choice but to do so to survive. He swallowed the bitter pill of mortality as he, alongside his sister, followed their aunt as she began to provide for them. Not quite a beacon of hope but one for survival.

However, everything is finite in this world. Yeong-Su did not know why or tried to understand the reasoning behind it, but their aunt simply ceased to exist in their lives. Whether she had left them or died, he did not know. He did not need to find out. From a family that now shrank to two, Yeong-Su vowed that he would see this through to the end with his sister. She was all he had left and he wasn't keen on losing her.

But, once again, the world had to remind him of its inherent cruelty. Despite all the speed given to him by the world, he could not avoid one beam that vaporized him instantly. It was over. Just like that. But it wasn't. It wasn't over. He took another breath in another world, one where there were no contraptions out for his blood. Confused, terrified, and antsy, Yeong-Su navigated the world in search of his sister. Days, weeks, and months, he slowly understood the world he found himself in. Far better as society seemed to have continued in this reality and people had kindly allowed him reprieve. There was no fear of daily survival here.

Then, finally, he found Min-Su. His sister. His...

    "Who are you?"

Reality shattered and formed within a millisecond for Yeong-Su. This wasn't his reality. He was an outsider. He was intruding upon his space. What of his sister? His sister? This wasn't right. He shouldn't enjoy this. He needed to go back. He wanted to go back. But how? How? How?

Yeong-Su found his way back ten years later but only two months after he had originally left his reality. He hadn't aged. He searched for his sister and found her and this Min-Su was her sister and he had never been so relieved. He... he couldn't stay in his reality no matter how hard he tried. Sometimes, he would disappear for seconds, and others hours, but he kept coming back. He couldn't leave Min-Su.

  • Name: Aethelweard

    Age: 150

    Gender: Male

    Race: Human

    Abilities:
    - Though Aethelweard can enjoy food and drink like any other man, he does not hunger, nor does he thirst. He does not require it.

    - No ordinary man or beast can overpower him, and nobody has ever seen him bleed through his armour. He possesses inhuman strength and endurance.

    - His armour covers his entire body, and is impenetrable.

    - Nature is his greatest ally. He seems to be able to non-verbally communicate with animals, and has an especially close bond with the big cats that follow him.

    - He is a skilled swordsman, and rumours claim he has never missed a target with a bow or knife. He is also an incredible hunter.

    Appearance: Credit to Ross Tran
    ross-tran-tumblr-mpnkeoml8l1r5uvbeo1-1280.jpg

Personality: Few have claimed to see beyond Aethelweard's cold exterior. For most, he is like a ghost, drifting silently through the frozen wastelands, between settlements, and leaving as silently as he'd arrive.

Though his motivations are mysterious, he seems to be strongly driven by his morals. He visited one town that faced starvation after a cruel raid. That night, he brought them a feast, and watched as the community came together in their church, thanking him one by one. The town awoke to find the raiders bodies in a freshly dug pit, and Aethelweard nowhere to be found.

Another village reported that their power hungry leadership went missing after trying to stop Aethelweard's arrival. He checked back in months later, leaving before anyone could see him, satisfied with the new leadership of the village.

Aethelweard has never spoken a word, not in his current form at least. Nobody knows if he was once someone else, or if he appeared on the planet one day, already in armour. He nods, or shakes his head. That's the best you'll get.

Background: Aethelweard as we know him appeared one day, and began roaming the wastelands between towns. Some correctly guessed that he was once human, quite an ordinary human, in fact.

Always a solitary figure, Aethelweard once lived alone in a cabin far from his village. An unnatural fire ravaged the forest he made his home in, and there was no escape. He emerged a changed man, taller, stronger, covered in armour. He doesn't know why, but never thought he was chosen specifically to become what he is. The fire that destroyed his home destroyed his hometown, leaving no witness to his transformation.

He's never stopped wandering, not even when the blizzards make it impossible to see a thing. He leaves an imprint on each place he visits, be it good or bad. The cats that follow him don't have names, but he loves each dearly. He doesn't show any love to his fellow human, and always sleeps on the outskirts of the towns he passes by.

Place of Origin: A land far less developed than modern earth. Its winters are incredibly harsh, with deep snow and constant storms. Summers are a bit better. There is little rule to the land, with towns being governed independently.

  • IMG_0170.jpg
    Name: Circe
    Age: 13
    Gender: Female
    Race: Empusa

    Appearance:
Circe takes the appearance of a typical Empusa her age as she has her eyes glowing with the raw untapped magic that birthed her. Her wings and horns are the one factor she has not learned to hide with her shapeshifting magic. Though few things stay the same with her shifting she rarely takes an older appearance on feeling more at comfort with her own age.

    Abilities:
    + Shapeshifting (Self)
    + Shapeshifting (Others)
    + Energy Manipulation
    + Flame Manipulation
    + Flight

    Personality:
Circe is a mischievous girl with a playful spirit. Unlike others of her kind, she does not eat humans and prefers to treat them like actors in a play assigning them roles whether they ultimately follow or not. For her, the world isn't something cruel but ripping at the seams with potential. She looks to Fenrir when she tries to decide when she's gone too far due to having far less understanding of humans due to the women who raised her.

    Background:
Circe was raised by a coven of "followers of Hecate", While this typically meant other Empusa there were a slim few humans who were considered magically gifted enough to be more than food. These women were often treated as servants to the most magically gifted of the coven. It's through her fun in pranking these women that Circe developed her fondness for humans.

Being one of the few in her age range in the followers she often found herself getting bored with their territory. Before long she wandered further and further to the end of their territory until she ran across a demigod of Hesperus wandered into their territory and got lost. However, she wasn’t the only one there. Another monster child named Fenrir was working to help the Demigod already. Rather than scare and prank the child as she would usually do she decided to follow this gorgon's lead. The two children quickly bonded and became inseparable friends as Circe saw more of the world following Fenrir on his explorations.

    Place of Origin:
A world resembling Greek mythology, much like those depicted in Percy Jackson

    Age: 239
    Gender: Female
    Race: Dryad
Abilities: Chlorokinesis; while she can consciously control them to accelerate growth, her powers work passively, causing plants to brighten and even bloom out of season as she passes. She can actively use them, convincing certain plants to grow under her direction.
Appearance: Though her green skin remains the same, various leaves and flowers grow differently each day.
Personality: Hedonistic, Ryeri seeks pleasure for pleasure’s sake. She’s not cruel, in fact she finds joy in sharing her pleasures, but she doesn’t understand why anyone would be any different.
Background: Born of the Mother tree like the other dryads, she goes about her day soaking up sun and finding new things to enjoy. Whether that is fruit that she’s never tried or friends she’s never made, Ryeri is always up to discover something new.
Place of Origin: A mixture of Fangorn and Hyrule forests. She lives in magical woods that few enter or leave. There is a massive tree deep within, the Mother tree, with roots stretching throughout the forest.

  • 1693032348205.png Name: Fenrir

    Age: 13

    Gender: Male

    Race: Demi-gorgon

    Abilities:
    - Gorgon Gaze: Fenrir's gaze has the ability to turn people into stone, albeit it operates more as a boon rather than a curse in that Fenrir is able to choose when it activates
    - Caduceus: A staff stolen from Hermes, the god of commerce, which appears as a stick entwined by two serpents and with wings surmounting it. It has the ability to wake people from slumber, or to put them into it. Using it on those who are dying gives them a merciful death.
    - Half and Half: Blood from Fenrir's right side has healing properties whilst blood from his left side is poisonous
    - Adventurous Spirit: Fenrir is nimble and wily in his hunger for adventure

Appearance: Fenrir is a 4ft 8 half-human, half-gorgon. He has messy raven black hair that is carefully gelled and lion-yellow eyes. His nails are perpetually an edgy black color from nail polish. Black snake scales periodically mottle parts of his body. His fangs, while long as a snake's, is more for show than for battle. He prefers uncured leather clothing, similar to an archer's.

Personality: Fenrir is currently in his edgy teenage phase, preferring dark clothing and expressing himself in more morbid ways. However, even despite this edginess, he has no desire to hurt people, only using his gorgon abilities as self-defense or whenever necessary. He has a strong sense of morality, believing the line between right and wrong is a thin and well-defined one. Fenrir has an insatiable hunger for adventure. Part of it is the prospect of spoils, but Fenrir is mostly enraptured by the idea of exploring the world.

Background: Fenrir's mother is a gorgon and his father is a blind human. They met each other on a secluded peninsula-- his mother had fled there to live in peace despite her curse. His father, meanwhile, was exiled from his position as a prince and wandered to the peninsula. As their offspring, Fenrir had none of the issues that his mother and father had-- he wasn't an exiled prince, and he only turned people to stone when he felt like it. As such, it was natural for him to want to wander away from the peninsula, and he did. Often. When he wasn't being homeschooled by his father he was out in the surrounding areas, his field of exploration growing with every year.

One day, Fenrir stumbled upon a community called the Followers of Hectate. These monstrous Empusas would've posed a threat to Fenrir if not for the fact that they knew that if they ate Fenrir, then the gorgon at the peninsula would make sure they faced consequences. Fenrir's father made sure that Fenrir understood that when he came home that night.

And so, when a demigod of Hesperus wandered into the area controlled by the followers of Hectate and got lost, Fenrir and a similarly aged Empusa worked together to direct the demigod back to safety. That Empusa, Fenrir learned, was named Circe, and the two of them quickly bonded. In time, Circe began joining Fenrir on his explorations, the two of them becoming inseperable friends.

Place of Origin: A world resembling Greek mythology, much like those depicted in Percy Jackson, however using historical Greece as a basis

    YUGEN
Age: At the most, younger than the universe.
Gender: Pocket dimensions don't really get genders.
    Race: Mini-universe
    tumblr_inline_npqr83NOux1ry72eo_400.gif
Abilities: The vastness of space is expansive. Did you know it can fit in a person-shaped container?
    - Protective Film (Also known as the Event Horizon, Yugen has a thin film covering her entire body separating the vacuum from the world. It also keeps Yugen's form up, instead of defaulting to a sphere shape. It seems to glow.)
    - Black hole-like properties (Getting past the event horizon would be pretty detrimental if you don't have a spacesuit, as you'd be pretty quickly swallowed into the vacuum of space. Luckily, items being swallowed don't squash or stretch, nor is it impossible to escape from the inside. However, quite like a black hole, they will grow in size.)
    - Storage (Quite handy to be a personal backpack for yourself.)
    - Floating (Pretty self-explanatory. It can float above the ground. Not really fly, though.)

Personality: Happy-go-lucky, naive, and ever-curious of human nature. Unfortunately, not very good with social cues. Comes with knowing a grand total of two people your entire life, neither being humans.
Background: Space: big, vast, filled with miscellaneous objects. Space is pretty much the majority of what Yugen's known their entire life. Among that are other things, of course; those being her two friends and what they know about The Other Side. See, Yugen's a doorway to a pocket dimension, and as with most doorways, they don't typically turn around. Her friends, lucky for them, have been able to traverse between Yugen and The Other Side, and have told Yugen all about the things Yugen would never be able to experience.

As far as they knew, anyway.

Good news, though! One of Yugen's friends made a whoopsie. A great whoopsie! Somehow, someway, she had turned Yugen inside-out. Suddenly, Yugen was right inside of a world that was previously inaccessible. How exciting!
Place of Origin: Yugen comes from Yugen.

    Name: Keith "King" Sutherland.

Self-Proclaimed Titles: Lord of Fantasy. The Courageous Chaos. The Bravest Blade. The Infernal Emperor. Ruler of Realms. The Hunted Hero. Wielder of the Cursed Blade. Heaven's Chosen. Evil's Bane. The Brightest Darkness. The Darkest Light. Etc, etc.

    Age: 21

    Gender: Male

    Race: Human

    Abilities: Reality Warping/Imagination Manifestation

Personality: Keith is an odd one. Often possessed by his own delusions of grandeur, he acts out his fantasies by proclaiming himself to be a bearer of dark power or a warrior on a holy crusade. He loves to be seen as cool, and adores being treated with admiration as he pretends to be more impressive than he actually is. Both attention and affection-starved, he runs like a dog to wherever he thinks he can get it and keeps performing the tricks he thinks will earn him a treat.

He's a fiend for compliments, so if you get him started and feed into his little acts, he'll just keep going. He can quickly get carried away, going over the top as he gets overconfident from his own delusions or the rare attention of someone nearby. A man who cannot be swayed as he gets fully immersed in whatever role or scene he's created for himself. Although, once he snaps out of his little moments of roleplay, he quickly comes to regret his actions.

Often neurotic and filled with self-doubt, Keith's true self is nothing impressive. Like unfolding an origami swan back into ordinary, boring paper, he becomes a wet napkin of a human being when his delusions end. He gets easily exasperated and is quick to give up when the going gets tough. Only ever having terrible luck, he has no shame in crying and complaining when faced with life's cruel jokes. No self-esteem to be found here, he's been beaten down for as long as he can remember.

He often wants to keep a low profile, but his inability to resist his "dark (embarrassing) urges" makes doing so very difficult. But even if he does manage to avoid engaging in his usual delusions and potentially triggering his unfortunate ability, he's easily susceptible to peer pressure. It's not hard to force him into a situation, especially when you consider that he's not a great runner. The worst he can do is get a bit snippy with you. Unless you're really scary.

He may not be strong, smart, fast, charismatic, good-looking, cool, or have a good sleep schedule, but at the very least, he has a good heart. As much as he wants to try reclaiming a bit of the normalcy that's been stolen from him, it's hard to walk away from a person that's truly in need of help. He may unfortunately do more harm than good, but he'll lend a hand if he thinks he's able.

Background: It's common to see young children playing pretend, often grouping up to imitate their favorite heroes and bringing their fantasies to life. They swing sticks like holy blades, slay evil monsters to protect the townsfolk that live in their imaginary playspace, and then head back to reality when called into their homes for their well-earned snacks. Fun times that become fond memories once children grow older and out of such behavior. At least that's how it normally goes.

Unlike a good 99.9% of his peers, Keith never grew out of playing pretend. Even in his teens, he remained enamored by his favorite media and characters, and he was just as invested in taking up their mantles in real life. In his home and in public, he'd act out the stories living in his head, proclaiming to be a hero king or a misunderstood do-gooder with powers of both light and darkness.

Keith's behavior could potentially be owed to many factors. Distant parents who were rarely home or loving due to their work could've been it. Becoming isolated from his peers due to his passionate love of "uncool" topics may have fueled a need for attention. Loneliness and lack of self-esteem may have increased his desire to pretend to be someone else. All valid reasons, but at the end of the day, he just wanted to be seen as cool And in his mind, his delusions of grandeur were the coolest things around.

To no surprise, acting out like an odd middle schooler who thought it was cool to drink black coffee (which he hated) and mysteriously brood in the classroom didn't win him any popularity contests. It only drove people further away. He occasionally felt embarrassed and regretted his behavior in the moments immediately following his outbursts, but he was already in too deep and couldn't help himself. He essentially acted on instinct at that point, unable to hold himself back even if he wanted to. Needless to say, his social status became pretty unsalvageable.

It seemed as though he would live that way forever, cursed by the cruel reality of...reality. However, there came a day when his fiction started to become reality. Everyone's reality.

Inexplicably, his ordinary world became unordinary overnight. People were suddenly blessed with fantastical powers, forever changing life as everyone knew it. As the world struggled to deal with dramatic changes, Keith was somewhat excited. While some fear was present, he became hopeful that he had a chance to truly bring his fantasies to life.

Keith eventually got his wish, but he quickly came to regret it. While a small number of individuals possessed simple abilities, such as superhuman strength or the power to fly, Keith could rewrite reality itself. Things he imagined came to life, even if he didn't want them to. If he played with a stick and acted out a scene of a swordsman fighting a great dragon, the piece of wood had a chance of becoming a holy blade. Unfortunately, the dragon also had a high chance of becoming real.

Rather than having any chance of becoming something like a hero, Keith became a threat. With no control over his abilities, his daydreaming could have cataclysmic consequences. He was just as fearful of his ability as anyone else, but as much as he wanted to, he wasn't capable of putting an end to his delusions of grandeur. As if he was possessed, he kept acting out his imaginary plays whenever he was struck by inspiration. Whenever the moment was over, his rational side would kick back in as he was forced to deal with the consequences.

Put in the crosshairs of newly formed organizations that sprouted to handle supernatural issues in the quickly evolving society, Keith lived life on the run. Even when he found a moment's rest, it brought him little comfort, as even his worst nightmares leaked from his mind to bring harm. As a result, he became extremely sleep-deprived.

Despite the years of being wanted by several dangerous people and living with his "condition", Keith still attempts to do good. Even with limited control over his ability, he tries to help those who are in need. Even if it backfires almost every time, he is nothing if not resilient. Of course, being possessed by something akin to a hero complex has taken away his freedom to choose when he gets involved.

Place of Origin: (description of world - brief or detailed). A modern world that eventually evolved as residents mysteriously obtained supernatural powers. Still largely reminiscent of the old society, but with newer measures to accommodate and protect against the "new normal". A modern fantasy.

  • Sozaemon Kuuhaku
    惣左衛門 空白

    sozaemon.png
    Age:
    28

    Gender:
    Male

    Race:
    Human

    Abilities:
Tenka-Goken: A sword style based on cutting through ‘dreams’, ‘fiction’, and all under heaven. Haku has no true supernatural abilities outside of basic magic, instead relying on his form and style to cut through everything in his way. His particular style of swordsmanship is named as such because of the illusion of five swords cutting through his foes at the same time.

Basic Magic: He can summon paltry magic abilities to attack or help with survival. The common balls of fire, water, wind and stone, based on the four elements, the like, are his only repertoire. He does not wield them well, and, at most, they tend to be annoyances to much stronger mages. He also holds back on using such abilities when facing a true opponent. After all, he who relies on tricks in a proper duel is no true warrior at all.

Appearance: Kuuhaku, in contrast to his name, has long, raven black hair that accentuates his crimson eyes. His body is covered in scars, all from his fights with mages and swordsmen alike. The most obvious is the dark burn scar over his right eye which stretches all the way upwards to his forehead. He possesses lean musculature that he readily hides beneath his hakama.

    Personality:
A man born in the wrong era. A warrior at heart, a swordsman pursuing the very pinnacle of the art of the blade, Sozaemon Kuuhaku wishes only to fight, only to hone his skills in the fires of battle and war. While he presents himself with polite, genial, sometimes stoic, mannerisms, there is a hint of that very darkness carved upon his physique and within his crimson eyes. He fights to perfect himself, and nothing else. But in an era of peace, he has lived long enough to adapt himself to his circumstances, pushing that very part of him down under the waves of what the world wants of him. He provides excuses for drawing his blade, things like protecting the innocent, defending his honor- all to give reason for himself drawing blood.

He despises his own weaknesses, and wishes dearly to excise it from himself. The feelings that he deems excess are unimportant to a true warrior, after all, and he dreams of a day when his sword has a reason other than being a wholly useless title and standing.

    Background:
Sozaemon Kuuhaku was adopted at an early age by a man who had been in war. From a young age, he had been taught nothing but how to survive, and how to wield his sword. In short, Kuuhaku was raised to be the successor to the man undefeated under heaven. Alas, the age for such a lofty title had come to an end. With peace reigning over the lands, with standing and power determined by the material such as money and land, a sword like Kuuhaku was no longer needed. What it needed was men who could talk, who could make connections, men who could manipulate the powers that be.

And so, Kuuhaku adapted. Never once did he refrain from training and honing his art, never once did his mind ever pass over on the very ideal version of himself: a man who would be the greatest under heaven, greater than his master, greater than all other masters, but he had to adapt. He put on the mask of a man who was the people’s idea of a proper samurai of the people, he who protected the weak, he who gave to others. Eventually, he became the mask itself, a man who was loved by his peers, a true knight of the weak. Never once, however, did he turn his eyes away from that dream of his. Deep under that mask lies his desire for the fight, for the blood- he was offered the station of a retainer to a powerful daimyo, a station that would give him what all other men would have desired, money, fame, power, women, and yet he did not take it. He continues to live as a ronin, a masterless samurai in a world where samurai were no longer needed.

He must have blood. He must kill. The common chaff like bandits were worthless to him as a gauge of his abilities, and the other ronin that have fallen to banditry were weaklings that had never seen a day of war in their lives. He wished, dearly, to fight a true fight, to fight in a true war, to be the one that stands under heaven, unparalleled. He wanders the land, seeking battle under the guise of helping those in need.

    Place of Origin:
A place almost akin to Japan in the Edo period, after the Sengoku Warring period. Trade has improved in light of Japan’s embargo of western influence being almost entirely rescinded. A peaceful age, all things considered.

  • Name: Dominic Dion Frinagua

    Age: 28

    Gender: M

    Race: Para-Hominid (Superhuman)

    Abilities: Emotional Storage
His own emotions are like fuel to a vehicle. The energy they give him, can be stored and repurposed.

Emotional Sight: Sees emotions as aura around individuals, all the time, constantly.

Emotion Charging: With this ability he can channel or make use of the Emotional energy he takes, especially for minor things like in the image above.

Emotion Empowerment: Allows Dominic to take his emotions and enter an emotional form or boost his base traits. This can be taken a step further and can be used to alter his physical form in various ways.

Illusion Casting: Harnessing his own emotions he can release illusions that are ultimately harmless, fragile things which break easily but act as great distractions

    H | W: 5’10 & 176

Appearance: Has the common appearance of an African male, his hair is naturally curly, jet black and both ears are pierced. Physically, his body is toned. He has several faded scars as examples of the difficult life he lived in his homeworld.

Personality: When not using his abilities, D is quite polite, generally very humble, however he's also grown quite jaded. Easily suspicious. Slightly even vengeful. Joining the Honorary Order, changes you by making you use your abilities in ways you normally wouldn't. For him, it was being made to learn how to use his abilities for combat and his experience with Power Gangs both as a part of the militia and after he became a fugitive that makes him more wary than his outward nature makes him seem. The gift to read people is one that has also made him less trusting of the average person. And when he utilizes his abilities, channeling emotions like anger or sadness, joy or excitement, he can sometimes blow a situation out of proportion and so tries to always reel himself in when he's not, keeping himself in check as best he can.

    Place of Origin: Altia
Altia is a supernatural scientifically advanced world with countries that slightly mimic Earth’s, was forever changed when an incident called the Flash Event not only created the Para-Human species 1000 years before Desmond’s generation but also brought into existence the three demigod like figures that act as globally recognized figures in the world.

Background: The Sources, Obelisk, Phidel, Igna, made a life changing entry on Altia. Their appearance brought war on the Flash Event, not with humans and them but humans and what followed them after the Flash had occurred. History says they changed everything, in his opinion that wasn’t just good. They also made life as it was known much more difficult by extension, at least, this is what Dominic sometimes thought, whenever he heard over the news about another para-human conflict arising somewhere if not in his home country, then elsewhere in the world.

Parahumans had a mixed reception. Most folks didn’t think of them in the negative light they were given credit for centuries ago when they first emerged, at least not all the time. There was envy and there was fear, and those two were a combination that pervaded all aspects of history.

Dominic grew up in New York, where Parahumans were more of a common norm, outnumbered most of the standard cybernetically enhanced population, and was famous for its drama in all things tied to para-humans, especially as being the place where the goddess Igna had a hand in developing and cultivating the state itself.

Of the third born of four, one older sister, one older brother and one younger sister, among all his siblings Dominic was considered…a Norm. The Para-Human mutation sometimes didn’t get passed on to every descendant or offspring, sometimes it skipped, sometimes it was dormant, and sometimes…it needed a trigger to awaken.

Life till that trigger was decent. It was also sometimes…frustrating. Parahumans often carried the mentality that they were…better, than their counterparts, and though his parents did instill humility as best they could when one of them didn’t even have abilities that were suited in Honored Order, his siblings all had unique, cool powers. And they didn’t hesitate to remind him almost everyday of how different he was living with them. Not that it was intentional, at least not when with the older ones, but the younger? Nightmare, is what he called her.

It was his nightmare that special day. He was Fifteen when that trigger happened. Fifteen and everything changed, life itself changes suddenly when you’re walking with your sister and her friends and then suddenly, one of those secluded underground Power Gangs you hear about all the time but never see hits a public marketing route to make a statement.

He was with Destiny, his little sis that day. She didn’t get anything more than scrapes and bruises, her friends also were safe. She told him herself through the cell barred doors they were allowing him to communicate with her through.

Life had a funny way of changing when you were hit with the unexpected.

After the Trigger, his powers awoke but the issue was learning them. Most Para-humans had their infancy, childhood to learn and develop, programs in place-- Triggers were extremely rare, exceptionally so, but he was told it was better now than later.

He wasn’t told why he had so many sharp restrictions.

New school, essentially new life. Dominic spent years learning how to adjust to a life he both envied and wanted but as he lived it, realized he may have never really wanted it at all.

Gang activity as time went on became worse. By the time he was graduating high school, things were getting ugly, bigger and worse criminals were rising and falling every month. Casualties were coming up, and if it weren’t for his sister deciding to join the Honored Order he might have never done it himself, so he did to look out for her, because in all his struggles- the youngest had been the one that really looked out for him.

It was the Honored Order that really gave him insight into why so much precaution after his Trigger had been made. There were missions that took him out of the U.S. Things he saw that was awful, and with his power, made it even worse. Especially when he started having to learn how to kill. Especially when there was a part of him that got carried away. There were times he didn't regret what he did. And one was when he turned around and wounded a superior that were just like those scumbags that he had read about on the news when he was Normal and heard about after he wasn’t who abused their power and got away with it.

In his opinion, being whisked away, practically couldn’t have happened anytime sooner. Perfect time really. Just like Destiny's luck always seemed to make things work out.

    Name: “Rally”
    Age: 24-28(?)
    Gender: Female
    Race: Metahuman
    Abilities:
    Telekinetic Waves
Rally can push and pull people and items through the power of telekinesis. More than one is no issue for her but generally increasing the creatures or items she moves slows down how fast she can move them.
    Shadow travel
Can travel between shadows as a teleportation method
    Darkness
She can completely bathe the room in darkness with a thought, she could also blind a person given close enough proximity.
    Shadow Manipulation
Aside from being able to travel through shadow Raly also can warp shadows into illusionary figures which can heavily distort the space around them.

    Personality:
Rally is someone who quickly shifts between multiple lines of thoughts. She has highly volatile quick shifts in mood. At any given moment she can shift from calm to angry to sad and straight back again easily throwing those around her in a loop. While Rally does have high emotion and is very moody she doesn't really let the opinions and actions of others affect her actions. She sees it as if she's mad it's because she decided to be mad, and usually it is because of some very loosely based lines on thought.
Even so, Rally's still got her natural charisma to bank on. She's rather good at getting people to drop their guard around her since she's tiny and doesn't seem like all that strong of a person she gets underestimated pretty often. She knows how to play the "Yes man" role when it's to her advantage. She can easily fake a smile or summon up crocodile tears when she wants something that she can't easily take.
It's common to see Rally jumping around or running away but not everyone seems to realize that the high energy they see in Rally's crimes is very much a part of her base personality. She can easily talk at a mile a minute, and keep the attention of the entire room when she aims to. Since Rally has been in the streets so long she has found her way into a lot of back alley games. Her power made it easy to get what she needed so she had a lot more leisure time than the usual street rat. She channeled this into learning ways to make use of her high-energy persona and could be seen trading food for opportunities to learn new skills.
Rally isn't the best at focusing on one thing. She often has just too much going on in her head to handle staying on one thing for too long. If she has the chance she's gonna choose to do multiple things at once and get everything out later than if she'd focus on just one thing. This makes her pretty bad at holding on to secrets as she usually ends up forgetting who she's told what. She's messed up a lot of Cons as a result of her nature and knows when it's time to ditch it and run.
She tends to not give in, ever. Even when in the wrong she can still be seen trying to argue that her view is the right one and that your points hold no weight. She takes this stubborn argumentative nature and ramps it up to a twenty whenever she feels the need to impress someone. The times when she is the least logical are usually when she's around someone that she respects.

    Background:
Rally was born to a part of Archeo that was always in the middle of a hero's fight. She grew up assisting her grandparents with their horticulturist practice. She was usually with her grandparents as her parents passed away when she was young of disease. Any time she wasn't in school she could be found with her grandmother studying plants. This was how she lived her life up until her seventh birthday.

Although Rally's family was never all that well off they were far from the worst in the city. Although Rally liked to skirt the edges of the "Bad" part of town she always did her best to stay safe and not worry her grandparents as she was all that was left for them. Her mother's death and her aunt's refusal to stay in town had already been a great point of stress for her grandparents. About a month after Rally turned ten she and her grandparents found themselves fleeing their home as a hero fight got closer than ever before. When they would return they'd find the entire area littered with property damage. Her grandparents' entire business had been ruined.

While they were able to use some of their savings to keep them afloat the stress began building up and soon within a short period, she had lost both her grandmother and grandfather. While she knew she had an aunt somewhere out there she had neither the resources nor the will to seek her out. As she was still a young kid devastated by loss she ran away when the government had attempted to "help" her, as she saw it as too little too late. Eventually, she began to make a name for herself in the district as she got better and better at using her powers. She'd use it to steal food, cause chaos as a distraction, or just practice because she was bored. She hadn't been able to keep her actual name out of the streets but she made it clear that if you wanted to do business with her never to call her anything other than "Rally".

Time passed and she joined a criminal group dedicated to taking down the heroes and their ilk. After taking part in such a criminal group for several years she soon found herself becoming a well-known name to fear.

And yet there was a gap unfilled in her memory. She had been 14 when her world began to change. She stayed with them for six long years and then blank.

She had come back to consciousness aware her world had changed. Her organization was in shambles, she was older, the world now run under a woman named Static.

Life had become a horror story… and then she found herself ripped from it.

    Place of Origin:
Archeo; A world where a certain number of people are gifted superpowers. People have been sanctioned by the government to become "heroes" as a job title with little vetting of who can become one. Powers are deeply linked to the DNA of metahumans and as such it is possible in this world to gain more powers by "obtaining and altering" DNA to fit. Tragedies have greatly altered the course of many beings' lives in this world.
