After being caught in the middle of one of their father’s science experiments at the age of twelve and developing superpowers because of it, Your Character didn't have it easy. They were pulled out of school, taken from the chance to develop any sort of friendship or lead a normal life, and treated like an experiment instead of a human being by their parents. Superhero training became Your Character’s life whether they liked it or not, and turned them into the kind of adult that inevitably comes from a life of child abuse; a severely depressed one with trust issues.
Your Character grows up to become the world’s favorite (and only) superhero. To the public, Your Character is suave, witty, and charming. They have a massive following and can't seem to do anything wrong, which is exactly how they want to be viewed. If the world knew who was truly behind the mask, - the bitter, snarky person - Your Character would lose everything.
No one else was “lucky” enough to “be blessed” with powers, causing Your Character to have to face extreme loneliness even in adulthood; leading a double life is complicated enough without a significant other to worry about. They have a handful of employees (friends - and two, to be exact) who actually, legitimately care about them, though, and who they’re lucky to have considering how rude they are, but they’re only rude because they’re afraid of losing anyone they get close to, and their friends understand. That’s not to say that their friends think Your Character’s behavior is acceptable; they argue with Your Character all the time, but they’d never leave their side, especially after the incident with Your Character’s ex-sidekick.
Your Character’s ex-sidekick is an ex for a reason. After working alongside Your Character for the better part of a year and absolutely lighting up Your Character’s life, they went rogue. Your Character was crushed. They had finally let themselves get close to someone only for them to fall to the dark side. Your Character’s depression worsened and they became even more standoffish than normal, and out of pity and genuinely wanting to help, their friends started looking for a new sidekick a few months after Your Character’s ex-sidekick had disappeared, even through Your Character’s protests.
Enter Your Character’s new sidekick. They were the first person to show up to the sidekick interview (that they, and every other potential applicant, were under the impression was an interview to work in the store being used as a cover-up for Your Character’s crime-fighting operation) and had the title of Your Character’s new sidekick within minutes. As soon as Your Character met who would turn out to be their new sidekick, they knew they were the one. Something was different about them; something was strangely familiar, and even though it would take Your Character a while before they figured out that “familiar feeling” was them knowing their new sidekick was currently experiencing a similar case of child abuse to the one they had, it didn’t take them long at all to start treating their new sidekick like the child and-or sibling they never had. They were a strange combo: The confident superhero and the ever-skittish sidekick, but they worked, and the world was obsessed with it.

Obviously, you'll be playing 'Your Character', and I'll be playing the new sidekick. We'll both be playing side characters. I have a bunch of ideas for the overall plot and character development, so I can definitely get us started when it comes to plotting. I dunno....just message me, okay? Please??
