Death's Chill
The reaper slowly inclined her head towards Sherm, voice cool and even. "Yes. It is not as if I would harm her in any way, but time is not something we can spare, and I do not have it to waste for those who want to struggle needlessly for a brief moment of their help." As Avro excused herself to take care of Panzer, Melita found herself studying Sherm in silence, the empty hood staring straight ahead at him, uncomfortably silent for a few moments. "If you have preparations you must make, please do so in short order. I would like for us to depart in a prompt fashion."

Accepting his own cup of tea he gently sipped from it, listening to her speak before taking his own turn. "My armor is tended to daily by myself. If you desire the blade cleaned and honed, I will assist you with that. As for my name, I am Jakub Maciejewski. I was husband to Elżbieta Kalinowska and the father to Adelajda Zając. That is long behind me now." At the mention of the rule he shook his head in disagreement. "Not so strange. It was a rule made out of kindness. Why should the child be punished for the loss of their father, to wander the world without further guidance and help? Should a man take anothers life, it is then his duty to care for the child and help him or her."

He set the tea cup on the table in front of him, pondering her question. "Not by birth. I am the champion of Archangel Michael, leader of Our Lord's armies and holy host. He is here in the city, I must make a point to show myself to him before the day ends. Through his divine blessing and power, I hold power beyond that of mortal men. What is your power, Kayla?" He settled his stern gaze on her before glancing back at the blade on the table, leaning forward on his legs a bit. "I apologize for your fathers fate, but I do not apologize for what was done."

His eyes went wide as she jumped, whoops. He gave a soft chuckle, genuine warmth coming from him for the first time in forever. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her tight against him. He missed her...he'd missed so many birthdays. So many bed time stories. So many picnics and moments a father shouldn't miss with his daughter. He'd missed them all. One day, he'd make up for them though. "Tabby snuck me out for a bit, that's how. I owe her one, she's a good woman." He glanced over at the laptop at the mention of trying to read one of his papers, a soft 'ah' escaping him. "Right, the original thesis. Me and your mother worked hard on that one, we spent hours explaining it to the scientific committee, and they even had a hard time with it at times. Don't push yourself...Would you like to take a break and go see a movie or something? Spend some time together?"

Welcome to the Jungle!

Agas was completely and terrible unfazed by the bite on her arm, if anything it made her grip around his neck a bit tighter out of spite. "Idiotic brat, all sin is a slight against God, you're just as guilty as any other." she growled low, content to choke his mental self for a few moments before dropping him to the ground. They all had a point, she could strangle him a bit later. Natalie wouldn't let her kill him, but she could certainly rough him up a bit. "Sorry Darren! Not much I can do here!" natalie's mind rang out to speak to him, Agas ignoring her as she made her way to her newfound sister. She walked over, extending a hand to Spitfire as empty eyesockets stared down at her. "Show me, child. Show me what has become of our beloved Father. Let us help him together."

Natalie slowly made her way over to darren's mental self, resting a hand on his shoulder. "When they're done, I want out out of here stat. Because if you stay here for even a second too long, she's going to have you in another choke hold, and no matter how tough you act, she'll turn you into paste or a bit, love. I don't want that to happen to you."

Oh hey! Another church hero! Cool! That meant they had some backup if need be. Wasn't she a vampire though? Oof. That must double suck.

He watched her approach and whisper to Carmen. He made himself known by gently nudging his way in and speaking to both of them telepathically, Hiya. I'm here too. It's Magnus. If you're here now too, then I say we get this party started. No time like the present, right? If Blessed Death focuses on lopping the main man's head off and covering the exits as best she can, then you could cull some of the rabble. Meanwhile, I can protect the chained up victims so they don't get caught in the crossfire. After all, I imagine a lot of these guys would like to make sure none of them get saved.

Magnus floated through the cage lazily, positioning himself near the victims for whenever they were ready to go.

"Shall I teleport us back to shore" she asked bowing to james. going super servant mode. Thryis meanwhile lowered the walls of water and turned back into her restrained form climbing up the side of the ship. "yeah yeah. I dont mind not killing, its just so much easier to kill. Corvus

Poor Viona was subjected to visions of terrible pain and suffering, bodies littering the streets in every vision, only for it to shift to some new horror. Heroes laying dead, dark visages of heroic faces crushing friends beneath their feet. Creatures swarming the streets and dragging people away, all this and more was the torment the poor girl was forced to endure. As the crazed prophet released Viona he went back to his rambling to the crowd. "The truth! The horrible, forsaken truth! She see's, just as I have seen! We all will suffer terribly, a cycle that will give us no rest!"

Corvus had enjoyed a light meal with her newfound patient when her phone buzzed, a thing she carried only for the most drastic of emergencies. Pulling it from her medical bag she glanced at it, a heavy silence filling the air. "We must depart, immediately. Someone very important to me is in trouble, and we must move. Can that healing capability of yours reduce toxins?" The good doctor didn't waste any time, standing up from her table and quickly making her way for the door, not bothering to check to see if the vampire was following her. Whatever had happened to her dear Viona must have been quite traumatic, and now she had to come put her back together again.

Blessed Death

A small smile tugged at her lips as Magnus informed her of the cretins now splitting migraine, the least of what he deserved to be honest. He had a solid plan, though not without it's flaws. There was only so much she could do if she lined the doorway with wire, she'd be fighting one-handed. Not that it was necessarily a problem to do so, just an inconvenience. Her attention drifted to the rather out of place dressed individual who made her way over, recognition clicking in her mind. Ah yes, L.A's dhampir hero. Hopefully there was no hard feelings over line of work on either of their part, yes? "Well met, Miss Claymore. I couldn't agree more. I was just thinking about giving the poor people of more...vampiric nature something to eat today." She didn't seem bothered by Magnus's intrusion, her voice soft as ever. "If you know me, then you should be aware of my partner. He's very much here, he'll make sure the captives stay safe. Yes...lop off his head." A somewhat cruel grin tugged at her lips as she adjusted her glove out of habit, despite it being quite form-fitting. "I shall do you one better, sir."

She flexed her fingers and rolled her wrist ever so subtly as the wire spooled out. So thin that even those of heightened senses such as vampires or demons would miss it unless they were a mark above the rest...but just because it was nigh invisible, didn't make it any less a threat. Like a conductor of an orchestra she gently moved hands and fingers, wire from the other glove trailing along the ground only to form an invisible spiderweb at the doorway. As for the ring leader here? She glanced in his direction, quickly clutching her hand into a balled up fist. There would be no time to scream, and unfortunately, no time to register pain. In one quick motion the mans head exploded into a fine cloud of red mist and viscera, shredded bone and gore splattering the ground, the blood refusing to stick to the blessed wire as it returned to her glove. "I can fend for myself quite nicely, you do what you do best ma'am." Did she make an unusual amount of joy in what she had just done? Yes, partially, but it was oh so deserved.

Summoner

James nodded silently as Vice listed off their options, humming in thought. Best to handle what hadn't been heard about yet, nip it in the bud. Besides, if only they knew about it, less likely to have to work with someone else...and less likely he'd have to apologize for the girls. "Right, we'll handle the drug then, I think." He glanced at Thyris, giving a small smile. "I appreciate the help as always. Get some rest." He snapped his fingers, undoing her summoning to send her back to the book. Reaching into his handy dandy satchel of holding he withdrew Sato's book and attempted to summon her...only for nothing to happen. He glared at the book in confusion, repeating the usual process...nothing. "Would one of the two nigh omniscient beings I'm currently friends with explain why I can't summon Sato!?" He glanced at Sophia, relaxing a bit. "Yes, please get us back to shore, Sophia."

"Wow and here I thought I was a sadist," he teased, gritting his teeth as he took a bit of the hit, only to push off of the unfaltering mace itself. He let his whip go and jumped back, hands repositioning themselves like a hand-to-hand fighter, "Heh... careful there... you'll make me think you're actually worth the fight if you keep this up." He was facing a monster, no doubt about it. A monster of Hell. He might have to call for reinforcements if this went south...

And why wasn't the woman hopping in? No doubt the two of them together would end this quickly... was she just having fun watching? The both of them were sadists.

He decided not to mess around. He stuck his hand out and shot off a fireball towards Azroch that was about the size of the tunnel itself.

"I'm not even close to omniscient, but I appreciate the compliment," Vice teased and looked towards Thyris's room, "Is she still asleep or something? Eh... I can come out in her stead. If she's relaxing, I don't wanna bug her. I'm probably not as useful as her, but I know LA pretty well, at least. Gives you a chance to get to know me too, I suppose." She stretched and started walking around in her book-space, idly staring at the rows, "Magical drugs are a pain in the ass to curb. All it takes is a mage with a screw loose and you've got a dangerous substance going around."

Sophia bowed before clapping her hands. James and Sophia teleporting right to the beach of La. Both sitting in a Lounge Chair with sunglasses. "I Read in a book this is called. Surreal Comedy" She said as she held a cold smoothie. She had no understanding of comedy itself. But had copied actions she watched in various shows that fell under the category listed as surreal. "also master. At the moment. Sato has not left Thyris book, And has been sleeping in thyris hammock with a smile on her face. It is advisable that there is a 68 percent chance forcibly summoning will induce rage and sadness. Would you like me to procede with the forceful summon?" she asked tilting her head, when receiving his response she pondered on vices words. "Magical drugs. We knew someone like that back in the first world we met in. A nice lady that ran a magic shop. she was addicted to a type of mushroom known as the False hope. It induced sadness on the levels of near suicidal despair. But once the effects wore off. the subject would feel euphoria and joy of life unlike anything else. What a strange mushroom. I wonder if you have them in this world as well. Master. Should i search for them in spare time if you are interested in studying them" she asked turning to james easily ignoring the crowd questioning how they appeared out of thin air.

The woman looked at the two challengers with such abject annoyance. Psychopaths. Idiots. She sighed and her head drooped in disappointment. Why did it have to be people like this and not some half-decent heroine or something? Someone cute, at least?? But no. She got stuck with little miss puppeteer and an insane man.

"Two challengers, then," she stated, hand splayed in front of herself, arm outstretched, "Begin!"

It seemed the two of them hadn't accounted for a small detail... there were two challengers, but four sentient beings there. That meant that while Mashu and Wildcard were dragged along to who knows where, the poor kid and "Zim" were thrust onto the ground with impressive force. Mashu was not puppeteering the child's body anymore, but the host of the challenge seemed like she either didn't notice or didn't care about the effect.

Meanwhile, she stared at the two challengers with her arms folded. The vial was now nowhere to be seen, and the scenery around them had changed completely. They were now standing (or more likely sitting from the force of being violently moved) in a broken void with detached, floating islands that drifted about defying gravity. It was nonsensical and alice-in-wonderland-esque with little regard for physics. Purple mist permeated the atmosphere and grew denser the farther out someone looked, to the point no ground below the drifting islands could be seen.

The woman spoke, floating in nothingness off to their left, "Reach the end. That is your first task. Begin."

who.jpgPoor Guy
"It's like she has a one-track mind," he muttered to Natalie, rubbing his throat as he stayed right where he landed on his ass when she finally let him go, "I know she must be smart to have lived this long... but... it's kinda hard to see that at the moment. Like her vengeance stick gets in the way of anything else... unless it's this, I guess? She's a daddy's girl, huh?"

Spitfire looked concerned and hesitated to reach out to her sister. She was kind of scary and intimidating... though, she wasn't mean to her, just mean to everybody else. Did Father really like people like her? Was she supposed to act like her? Or like Miss Natalie? Or... She steadied her breath, "I'm sorry I'm so confused and lost, sister. I hope I can be of some help. I'm so fearful of everything right now... even you and our brother, Archangel Michael. I am fearful that Father is somehow ill or is in need of help. I hope that somehow, my memories can clear some confusion for you and our brother." She took the hand her sister offered and moved forward to hug her around her waist and hide her face against her clothes. She wanted to cry, but instead just clung to her big sister. This was all she could do to help right now. She was useless otherwise.

She calmed her breath again and focused her thoughts, her memories, on her creation.

It was warm, safe, and familiar. It wasn't just Agas that could see this memory displayed, it was like a movie on the mindscape to all of them. Darren wasn't nearly so refined as to be able to show it to only one anyhow. He was lucky he knew how to function at all, thanks to his awful father and uncle forcing it on him. It was hard not to get distracted by the feeling all the same, though. Even though she remembered herself more or less being... constructed... there was no word for the feeling. Calm, maybe? But that didn't do it justice. It was so filled with love and care. There was an aura that surrounded her like a sphere of this warm creationary mix. Outside of it, a strange-looking man that exuded power.

He had a calm smile on his face and looked... generally human. His skin was an unearthly tone of deep black, his hair was shimmering white with rainbows throughout that touched the light. He had patient eyes that had the same holographic, rainbowing effect as his hair, and all along his skin, white symbols and shapes shifted and changed. He was filled with love and care for the little creation in front of him. He spoke softly to her, not in English, but the meaning and intention of it were unmistakable. Love. Welcoming her. Gently talking to her about nothing important in particular, about her siblings or about humans or Earth, despite every word he spoke being her whole world. She hung on every sound. Every movement. So much so, actually, that it was easy to miss the darkness in the background. It was easy for her to miss the concern in his eyes - after all, she had never seen concern before.

The tiny bit of tension to his brow, the feeling like the darkness behind him was made of smoke and snakes and was clinging to him, the feeling like that shadowy strangeness curled around him and shackled his wrists, his arms, his throat.

Even quieter and harder to notice was the whispering beyond him and the shadows. Other people. Humans of some sort, but the presence of the man before them overshadowed all else, unfortunately making it impossible to even understand whoever was there. Agas would be able to tell, though... Sinners. Terrible sinners stood behind her father and were doing who knows what to him.

magnus.jpgLet's Get it Started

"Well, I suppose that starts things, doesn't it?" Magnus muttered to himself with an eager grin. He watched the blood and sinew splatter into a mist, and while he wasn't one for abject violence... there were certainly times when people deserved it. The sudden introduction of such a visceral smell excited the poor chained victims. It was so tempting just to let them run wild in this building, but alas, that'd be dumb. They needed to be saved, after all, not sent into a pit of dead men.

As realization struck the crowd, bodies started to move and flow like an agitated sea. Considering the hate these monsters harbored towards the vampires, that was the first thing they began to head towards and level weapons at. Lucky for the chained peeps, he spread his energy out as a force to create a barrier and watch the mayhem go.

Some were trying to shoot at the barrier, others made the mistake of running through the now-blocked front door. No one knew yet who had started this party.

She sniffled and rubbed her face clear of tears, totally unable to stop her tail from wagging in excitement, "It's okay! I'll get it eventually." She pulled away from him, only to place her tiny hand into his and pull him along. Selene grabbed her laptop with one hand, closing it and rushing off to go put it away in her room, "We can totally go see a movie or something! I gotta try to understand your papers and stuff though. I wanna know more about you guys, and it's kinda all I have to learn with."

Selene let go of his hand to clamber up onto her loft bed and plop her laptop onto her blankets. She scrambled back down and hopped the last three feet onto the ground, "Okay! Let's go! Or... oh.... wait. I need to let the Father know I'm gonna head out." She grasped his hand again and started to pull him along, heading out and across the way to tell Father Anderson she wanted to go out. She didn't exactly... knock, though.

Seeing Archangel Michael there, along with everyone else, just about all air left her lungs, and she stood there with her mouth totally agape. Even if he wasn't here, she would have been too shy to speak with the other two!

Kayla stared at him for a long moment, "Your last name sounds like a sneeze..." She sighed, a loud huff, and clasped her hands together in her lap, "What is Archangel Michael like?" It was hard to believe, but she got the feeling this guy wasn't one to lie. A champion of the leader of the angels though? That sounded insane. Her eyes went to the sword again, but she didn't say anything about his apology. She didn't want to know what happened right now. She'd just get upset, and it was bad enough right now.

"Probability correction," she said after pausing for so long, "My main ability is probability correction. I can't quite... see different outcomes, but I get a feel for the correct motion to take or choice to choose. It can help a lot in the indecision of a battle, though I'm still... not super well trained or anything. I guess more than the average person... but you guys overshadow anything I could ever do. Aside from that, I have minor super speed and strength, but nothing too crazy. I'd say I'm at the level of an athlete without having to work for it."

Sorrow

"You are severely limiting the amount of fun I can have with such a short list." As the gang members rounded on them and unloaded their guns on them, Sorrow took a step back as bullets bit into its 'flesh', though she had no qualms with using her captive as meat shield. "Okay, I didn't kill this one, this isn't my fault, Ivory. And YES I KNOW!" The feeling of getting shot was more akin to a scrape on the knee, but the feeling quickly left as the bullets were pushed out of the symbiote and the wounds closed up quite quickly. "You're going to regret that." Light continued to bend around her in her natural cloak as she hurled the now dead gang member at one of his companions, leaping forward with a hand outstreched to grab the face of another, slamming him back into the ground with a painful crack of skull against the floor.

She raised the gang members head up once and then back down again onto the ground for another resounding 'crack', not enough to kill him but certainly fracture his skull, tossing the limp body at another as she lifted herself up on her hands like a gymnist, preforming a whirlwind kick on any of the nearby gang members. "This would be so much easier if you let me actually KILL them!"

The mace found it's mark, but it seemed not enough as the O.A member managed to push away from it and make some distance. Azroch flourished the mace at his side, grinning cruelly. "You are no more a sadist than a child who kicks sand at the beach." He slowly walked forward, mace swinging at his side a few times. "If you're holding back, I recommend against it. You'll regret boring me. There are some things worse than a broken body." He came to a halt as the male shot a fireball towards him, a malicious smile on his face. "Good, I like it when they struggle like they mean it." Taking a deep inhale of breath he continued to inhale air, siphoning energy from the fireball until it dwindled in size, and by the time it hit him it only left his suit somewhat scorched.

"Nice try...what else do you have? Don't tell me you've run out of tricks." He held a hand up, a pitch black javelin forming in his hand before he hurled it forward, intent on pinyoning the male to the ground behind him by landing the javelin through his stomach. Should he dodge it, the javelin would bury itself up within a foot of it staying out of the ground, Azroch rushing forward.

Before he could even blink his eyes he was in...a beach chair? He reached up, pulling sunglasses from his face and studying them. Classic Sophia, he supposed. "No no no, please don't drag her out. If she's relaxing, let her be. Her own book is hell, I can imagine it's nice to get a bit of reprive from it...Also I'd rather not get stabbed in the kidney this early in the morning." He sighed, sitting up on the beach chair before swinging his legs off, standing up. "Right...her. I bought Hignar and Pydir off her...memories..." It took him a moment to process what Sophia was suggesting, rounding on her with wide eyes. "What? No! No no no, we don't need anything like that, thank you sophia." Reaching into his satchel he pulled out Vice's book, holding a hand above it as he focused to summon Vice. "Honestly, I'd appreciate a guide. Considering that bullets didn't exactly do anything to the symbiote... this wasn't really much of a fight. How could it be? They were squishy humans that didn't even have some extra durability to help them out. Once they saw how utterly wrecked they were getting, they... well... gave up. It's not like they had any way to win against something like this! At least heroes usually bled! Weapons scattered to the ground and what seemed to be the leader (or at least the leader of this smaller group) knelt to the ground with his hands in the air. The others followed suit. None of them wanted to die.

Natalie and Agas

Natalie gave a small nod, leaning over towards Darren. "You have no idea. She's smarter than you think she is, but this is what I have to deal with 24/7." Agas kept her hand held out, giving a calm nod. "It's alright child. Just show me what you know." Agas seemed...quite out of place as the young spirit of vengeance wrapped her arms around her in a hug, though none the less she wrapped her arms around her to embrace her, holding her close. As the memories got put on display Natalie fell silent, Agas much the same. Agas knew who she was looking at, of course she did. Natalie may not have known the face before her herself, but given context it didn't take a genius to guess at the situation. She was silent, deathly so. And for probably the only time in her life she looked..almost meek. She was looking at her God, or rather a memory of him, but the feeling was all the same. He wasn't quite what she expected him to look like, but it made sense when she thought about it.

Agas had gone equally silent, actual happiness flooding her being at the sight of him. But that happiness quickly faded away as she took in the darkness in the background, the flame from her skull growing larger. The feeling was wonderful but it...was unfocused, like it wasn't really done correctly. And the sinners in the background, terrible and wicked. Kidnapping and torture were among their sins, but there were so many more beyond that. An almost primal growl escaped her as she stared ahead, Natalie shaking herself from her stupor to lean over to Darren again. "When you're done, you need to leave, stat. It's going to get very bad, very quickly in here."

Vice nearly tripped as she appeared outside of her book, blush rising to her cheeks as a pink hue. She patted at her dress awkwardly and looked at the other two, "Hi. Um... right. What's wrong with a succubus by the way?"

She moved over to him and latched onto his shirt with a hand like a child, "As important as drug busting is, maybe we focus on showing you around instead? I wouldn't want you getting lost... or saying hi to some famous villain without knowing it. Have you eaten yet today? We could go get a bite and talk over it. I can go over the major heroes and villains, as well as some major locations you're gonna want to know about."

Thomas smiled a bit, ruffling her hair a bit. "I know you'll get it. You're brilliant, I know that for a fact." At her agreement to watch a movie he brightened up a bit more, eager as could be to spend time with his daughter. "Well if you have questions, I can answer what I can. I want you to have few mysteries about us as possible after all. I'm sure you want to know about us as much as I want to know about you." As she grabbed his hand and started to lead him along, silent worry gnawed at his stomach, only somewhat calmed by the simple feeling of her hand in his own. He wasn't sure how it would go, explaining to a church figure that they were just disappearing together. 'Hi, I'm her long lost father! I'm going to take her out for a movie and ice cream, is that okay?' Yea, that'd go over fucking FANTASTIC he was sure. As they reached the doorway he matched her expression, staring wide-eyed at the interior...that was Michael, from the news, right!? What the hell...no, what the heaven had he walked in on!?
