SoulFlare

Soulflare gave a very audible groan at what he was describing, a hand reaching up to run down her face. "I didn't think it was possible to feel any more contempt for your group than I already did. Look at that, I'm surprised. Newsflash, and I hope you didn't drink the kool-aid, you're not chosen by god. I want more names on who may be able to be a pain in their ass." She glanced over her shoulder towards the ex-demon lord. "I'll make a visit there then. If he's enough of a concern for the O.A, I'm pawning the kid off on him too. Unless you have better plans to prevent a mass teleportation on kids we don't know, I'm hedging our bets and throwing hail marys."

Hearing the next description earned an even louder groan from her. "El means God, or deity. Congrats, you're in an actual fucking cult kid. And he's ripping off the bible. Original, I haven't seen this one before. Alright, I think we have a limited timeframe and we have to keep moving." Looking towards John she spoke up again, voice it's usual calleous tone. "I'm taking the kid. Let him free. SHIELD, YOU'RE SITTING BEHIND HIM. I'm taking the kid to see Chutes, I need directions." Snapping her attention back to caleb she unceremoniously wrapped her chain around her throat. "We have a deal. But so much as try to stab me in the back, I will bend your elbows backwards and then torch you. Are we clear?"

Kali

5c4e06f319fe0b7a329f4f1e9e3a3d7a.pngKali quietly sat down looking at the scene unfold before her. "Oh I know! Originally I hired him as a joke. But to think he was such a skilled person. Hes a very skilled lawyer. So dont worry muse." she pulled out one of her burner cells and simply texted the location. Before adding "Now." after that. She crushed the phone in her hand, and tossed it in the trash. "I dislike keeping my personal contacts on my phone. If it gets stolen they'd be able to trace and find them! Muse, I'll buy a set of burners for you later. It becomes very important to keep friends hidden. Wouldn't you agree Adam? Being a detective is truly a dangerous job. Many people have it out for you, and they think because your a detective and not a hero. Your easy pickings. You must get attacked often right." Her words stung with the tinge of truth. "Muse, please take these words as lessons. You may always be in danger in the hero duty. Adam himself is proof of that. Even yesterday. Somebody tried putting a bullet in my chest." She turned to adam and looked at him. How boring, he was a good cop. Too god, You couldn't call him a pig. A refined boar may be more accurate. Since he was more effective then most. How many of these cops had kali bribed before? She had lost count after a while. He seemed very troublesome and the type of idiot to stick his nose where it doesnt belong. Pigs and boars may be used to sniff out the truffles. But leave it to hunters to make the harvest~ He should be here soon. Very seldom does he ever dally when she calls.

not even 10 minutes later. A refined man walked in "Miss Tristan. How lovely to see you again." he said walking up gently lowering his head to kiss Kalis hand. "I came as soon as you texted. My meetings can wait, for my most valuable client is far more important. Now then.... Is it the young woman with blue hair? or the rough looking boy I am to be helping?" he asked with a smile. there was a certain.... offputting feeling when looking at Kalis lawyer. It seemed every motion, every gesture and sentence. Was filled the taste of poison and scum. His words were kindness soaked in arrogance and poison. As if you were speaking to a snake that took enjoyment out of you feeling uncomfortable. Truly a fitting laywer for Kali. Even now. His smile could give Adam, Muse and Enzo a primordial feeling of disgust and disdain.

“You’re as sour as ever. Perhaps even moreso. I swear we need to put you through some etiquette training,” Dantalion teased, smiling a little, “Your ability to get up to lecherous activities astounds me still. What with how few brain cells you have, after all.” She was only joking, of course. He was fairly smart. He was a pain in the ass and definitely an asshole, but he wasn’t under her father’s employ to be a pretty face.

“Silliness aside, do you think you could catch me up on what’s been afoot lately? Perhaps allow me a deeper look in your mind? I’m still nowhere near as good as my father, but... if you’re willing... I should be able to get myself at least a little up to speed on the advancements in human technology. As thanks, I could make you something to eat using whatever this abode has in its kitchen?”

sean.jpgSparring Match
Sean took a moment once he was on the ground again, before standing back up and turning to face Casey, "No, sir. Once should be fine." He picked up things quickly... when someone ACTUALLY taught him, that is. Refer back to: his guards suck ass at being teachers, for example number one. "I'll try to do that to you then if that's okay," he said, going through the motions pretty well for someone that had only seen it done a few times and had it explained to him once. Knowing Casey though... unless he was feeling particularly nice, Sean's slow motions probably meant he was countered, even if he was being a good little student.

Keeler hopped off of Ada, who was back to her feet in a blur, "Yes, dad! Sorry!" Yeahhhhh, getting distracted was hard to avoid. Heh. She found lots of things so interesting! And with her powers reacting to reflex... that kinda meant she was a little bit of a meerkat on a swivel pole. Hard to focus. Harder when there was a cute boy she just went on a date with learning things right next to herrrrr!

She sighed out a little huff and focused forward again, "You read people well. I'm impressed. You sure you don't have any powers?" She moved forward, getting back into it with her quick punches and kicks.

"Unfortunately pretty sure!" Keeler laughed, "Been tested more than once. We have yearly checkups with the group to check for any changes in powers. I follow along with because-" he managed to tap her hard on the shoulder, "because it's best for unity if we all go, even if I know I don't need that sort of checkup. That means I've gotten tested more than most though. Nah. I'm just very well trained. Been trained pretty much this and little else since I was a kid younger than you. Family business and all that. Dad was suuuuper strict. There was never a sparring match, because if he was fighting, you had to fight like you were in danger... cause you were. He'd go until he knocked me out. Not exactly recommended or healthy, but it definitely served as one hell of a motivation."

"Sheesh... I'm amazed he didn't get arrested."

Another tap to the same shoulder. "Nah. Lived in the mountains. Rural community. They have a big belief in keeping to their own and the sheriff was a close friend of my father. Aside from the child abuse, it's a beautiful local. Nice big lake and lots of trees." And again another tap.

"I'm sorry. Her assuming ownership over you bothered me irrationally. I wanted to do that exactly to spite her. I'd love to get to know her nicer side, but there was none of that there. Even me attacking her, her focus immediately turned to you... cheating on her? It was ridiculous and makes me think she's mentally handicapped. Though... so does Pydir... I... I dunno. I'm fine enough. I'm frazzled. I'm trying to compensate for it by being social with the other girls, but... it just... made me feel more for my own situation, which was kind of the opposite of what I wanted to achieve. I want freedom. I don't want freedom at the expense of anyone else, though. I make my situation look much nicer, but it doesn't stop it from being in reality an unpleasant circumstance. Loneliness gets to you... It's why this part of myself is split from the rest to avoid... mental... erm... mental problems. So I get why the others are weird. I just deal with it differently."

Vice huffed out a sigh, "I can set up a bedroom for you if you'd like to stay here and avoid the cost of a room, and just make the illusion disappear. Erm... A bedroom in the common area, that is. Hignar doesn't have a door in, and I hope you've told Sophia that Hignar won't have a door or whatever. Just... for everyone's safety. But ah, for the bed, it's up to you. Or you could have Sophia make it. Either way."

She was hugging herself gently, "Do... you want to see what this place actually looks like when I'm not keeping it like this? I saw the girls... and you did... and so... I feel like I'm being unfair and facetious if I don't. It's not nice, but it's not like... spikes or something like that."

Oriax
'Stolen' Apartment | "Ever had to fight for your life?"

"Of course I'd be sour, few of us bottom feeders aren't," Oriax scoffed, though a smug grin was painted across his face. If it weren't for the fact that Dantalion was the daughter of the Lord of Lies, it would have been impossible to discern whether the demon was speaking in sarcasm or in seriousness. "Many probably envy the brats of Demon Lords, to rarely starve or fight tooth and nail for their lives. That said, you're a special case, I guess."

Oriax then raised one hand and pointed a finger toward his head. "Feel free to pry, it's far easier than for me to attempt to explain five-thousand years of bullshit to you. Don't need to bother with anything else, I'm not about to beg a little girl for foo-" He was interrupted by a loud and lengthy growling. A moment of awkward silence followed. "Ok, miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight've blown almost all my money by gambling," Oriax mumbled, "and maaaaaaaaaaaaaaybeeeeee I haven't eaten jackshit in ten days." For some reason, he sounded particularly proud of losing all his money at a casino. "Ok, you know what, I wouldn't mind food. Anything is better than the poison Lilia whips up."

Casey Kemp

He gave a small shrug. "Feel free to try." As Sean made his attempt, he'd find himself in the unfortunate circumstance of being countered by Casey firmly planting his feet and yanking back hard, resulting in his flip failing and Sean stuck in a nelson. "And that's just one way to stop yourself from getting flipped." Keeping Sean in the pin for a moment he released him, stepping back. "There's no perfect fighting style, you have to learn to adapt for the flaws present in everything you do." He didn't bother to take his eyes off Sean to glance at Ada. It was the unfortunate truth she was always so easily distracted...she had to work on it.

Keelers father sounded similar to his. Except Keelers dad had the courtesy to stop swinging once he was down. The number of times his own father had left him on deaths doorstep was almost funny to him at this point. "Try to flip me a few more times, until your comfortable with it. Do it until you do it on one smooth motion, then we'll call that your lesson."

Luckily after a few minutes of taking account of everyone there, there were no injuries or medical emergencies to be seen. The path onwards was also obvious, a path leading to a door that seemed to attach to the "wall" that was this reality. Definitely odd to look at. It was, unfortunately, locked. This strange mishmash of game design a fever dream of a six-year-old, once they noticed the door was locked, an objective appeared in front of them. A golden path of wisps through the air to lead them, though it hadn't led them for anything before that.

The golden dotted line led them to a shop.

This shop had a completely oversized key on display on the counter, for 1,000 "coins", and the shopkeep was a woman with a permanent smile on her face... a little creepy if you looked at her for too long.

"It's old news. Doesn't bother me in the slightest. Hignar is extremely unhinged, I gave up trying to be rational with her long ago. She's obsessed with me, in the worst of ways. But please don't feed her with any delusion fuel. But granted, that's pretty impossible. She's not mentally handicapped. Just...obssessed. And genocidal. But no worries on that one." He crossed his arms across his chest in thought, nodding gently. "I'm making you the promise I've made with all of them before. I'm going to get you free. Then you can be your own person or...rejoin your main portion or whatever you'd do."

He paused for a moment, thinking over her offer. "I'd actually appreciate that. I don't tend to have a lot in the ways of cash. As I explained to Sophia, Hignar's door only has one entry. We have to let her in, she can't let herself in. Don't try to start a fight with Hignar for future reference, for your own safety, please. She's perhaps the strongest out of the girls, at least combat wise. She's got...some unique origins." Watching her hug herself he let his arms hang at his side, awkwardly swaying back and forth before he took a few steps forward to close the distance and give her a hug at an attempt to comfort her. "Here's the thing. You show me what the situation is, if and when you're ready. You're not being unfair, you're not being facetious. You take things one step at a time, that's all anyone can do. Honestly...if you can give yourself an illusion of comfort, keep it. Because none of the girls would wish that away from you, Hignar not withstanding."

Giving her a quick squeeze he backed up, rubbing the back of his head. "Sophia should be done with the doors by now. She probably...went overboard or found a loophole. Want to go check things out, when you're ready?"

It looked like everyone was fine. No one was going to miss any vital medication dosage, everyone was healthy and unharmed...that was a relief. "Alright. We'll work on getting you all back out of here. With that said, please stay here in this town...area...thing. If this is a safe area, it's best you stay here. Wolf, come on, we have to save a kid and get people home." Making a motion of 'come on' she started towards the path that they were obviously intended to follow When could they go home. She'd rather deal with Jade hopelessly flirting than be stuck in this video game madness. She wanted her body back...flesh was weird, and too squishy. She missed her information feed and intake, she missed being able to manage forty things at once. She was stuck to just...one thing right now. And it sucked.

The door was locked however, unfortunately. Of course it was. Of course it was. Why wouldn't it be? "Dammit...alright, follow the golden dotted line or whatever..." she grumbled under her breath. Arriving at the shop she let out a soft 'uhhh'. Well. There was the key. And it was expensive. She did a quick check of her inventory. She about five fifty.... "I have five fifty, wolf how much gold do you have?"

Kemonomimi.jpgVice
"I could be some horrible person. You don't even know me. Why are you so nice?" Vice asked, laughing nervously as she tried to stop herself from tearing up and crying, offering him a weak hug in return, "You don't even really know why I'm here and stuck. Or who I am... like... who my main part is. I mean, I'm not a terrible person. I don't even like fighting. But... how would you know that?"

The library around the fizzed like a glitch on a screen until it changed slightly. Everything was in the same position, but it was dusty and cobwebs crawled around every corner. Though there was still the copy beside him that was Vice, there was another person, a man, hanging up in the center of the room. He was a kemonomimi like she was, bound by a shackle around each limb; neck, wrists, and legs. Each was pulled wide until they were taught and uncomfortable-looking. His tail drooping and weak behind him. Dual-colored eyes stared down at James. He was naked, but for some semblance of privacy, he had weaved a dense fog around private parts. After all, there was no reason James would want to see something like that.

His nakedness did allow him to see the scars along his torso, most of them thin but long and dragging.

Above all, though, there was an overwhelming sense of power that emanated from him. Even for someone used to Sophia, used to Hignar and Pydir, this was... a different beast altogether and somehow far more intimidating that it was contained in a human form. It boggled belief that the thin chains he was hanging by could contain such power. There was, however, not one iota of malice in his eyes. No anger. No vengeance. Just a sea of sadness and calm. The feeling of "this too shall pass".

He didn't speak, though, just staring at James, almost staring through him. After a moment of silence, Vice finally spoke up again, "That... That's Chutes. My... Me. The real me... full me... whatever. I got tricked into being bound, which... is why those things can actually hold me. I think... it's... probably a little above your pay grade to try to fix, so to speak, but I appreciate that you're willing to try. Just... focus on the others first, ok?"

She cleared her throat softly, "Right, so... Sophia. You can lead the way."

"You could be. You could be a god awful person that seeks nothing more than to kill hordes of people or something else. You could be a criminal, or you could be here because you don't deserve it. I don't know your story, but I hope I'll learn it. I'm nice...because it's better than the alternative? I don't like seeing people hurt, or be sad. Isn't it better to act, than sit complacent when there's suffering and trouble? I just wish my acting didn't involve saving the world or stuff like that..." He glanced around as the library 'glitched', his attention drifting upwards towards the hanging Okami. There was the sense of power, and it was impressive at first. And then the feeling of awe dwindled just as quickly as it came, James feeling of being impressed fading.

"Well...you're strong, alright then. Thanks for the privacy screen. Uh..." He paused for a moment, shrugging as he tried to find the words. "You being strong or whatever doesn't bother me. I'm just desensitized to it all I think. It's nice your not a total ass, or manipulative though. People with absolute power or high quantities of power tend to be one or the other in my experience. And I'm going to fix it anyways, pay grade or not. Will it be hard? Will it suck? yes and yes. But it's what I'm going to do. I make no promises, everyone gets equal attention from me in my efforts to help. Let's check on Sophia."

Giving Vice a quick side hug he started towards the door to the common room she had made, opening it up and stepping inside. "Sophia? How're the doors coming along?"

Shield, outside this little pop-up interrogation chamber, had gotten offered a warm coffee by one of the personnel. So nice. They didn't even seem to care that he had such a bad rap. It left him with a small smile on his face and happiness feeling warm in his chest. This calm sensation was abruptly interrupted, however, by the unceremoniousness of his favorite neighborhood skeleton. Geez. He almost felt sorry for the kid. He looked like a teenager or something. Why was she so rough with him? Meh. Questions for later. For now, he was sure as hell not gonna argue with anything she wanted to do.

He chugged the last of the hot coffee, luckily unable to get hurt by what would otherwise have scalded his throat (gaining wide-eyes from the person that had given him the cup in the first place), and he hopped on the bike. The other man had given an address and Shield kinda yawned, looking over the boy in front of him who looked absolutely terrified.

"So uh... what'd I miss? What's the plan and what can I do?"

6BAABEAA-D13B-4058-8A93-B8FC15C6B43E.jpegThe Tunnels
It was not easy to dig through the mess of dirt and debris that had come crashing down from the roof of the tunnel. He had to first walk past the two corpses, the one that was the strange carriage, and the other the paladin... who was now headless as well. Past the two of them, the wall of the collapsed tunnel came to an abrupt end. Dirt and rock collected in a long mound, and that took... a while to carve through. Hundreds of feet. It honestly didn’t seem like it would end, but eventually, finally, it did. He had opened the tunnel again, and it’s dark depths laid bare once more. There still was no visible end to the length of the tunnel, but hey, it was open now.

As perhaps he thought he was done, Axiom could hear someone clapping. Each note echoed through the walls, and it’s source? A slender-statured man leaning against the wall of the tunnel about a hundred feet down it.

“I’m impressed you dug through that quickly. As a consolation prize, I’ll let you have a choice. How would you like to die?”

lydia-qx-qq-20160913123617.jpgAXIOM

Axiom froze for a minute after hearing the man's voice, taking a deep sigh before giving a soft smile "Not everyday I get to chose how I die. Not many people get that choice. Thank you for your generosity. I mean that. As for how I want to die...No one's really ever asked me that. And I can't rightfully say I know. I always imagined I'd...Die in my little bubble someday. Maybe I'd grow so miserable and apathetic that I might just die from my own melancholy. But you know....I'd like to grow old. Actually live to be an old man." Axiom looks to his armored hands "In my waking dreams, I'd...Imagine I was sitting on grassy, green hill; before me would be a beach; a big, blue ocean; and beyond that, a shining sun with no clouds in the sky to block it's warmth. Accompanied by the occasional cool breeze. What's even better? I actually get to feel it all with my own skin. The grass, the sands, the sea, the sun, the wind....All of it. And I'd be happy. I'd like to die happy. Highly unlikely but it's a nice thought."

serene-hill-by-the-ocean-nadia-nevala.jpg
Axiom looks back at the stranger "I know you didn't ask me all that. And I know you'd care less but there isn't a soul I can talk to about this. Not anymore...You might not be listening but thank you for letting me express myself at the very least. Sorry if I talk a little too much for a dead man." Axiom chuckles

Derrek pain.pngSean and Peeps
This all continued pretty much ad nauseam until finished, and honestly? Sean was actually a pretty damned good student. He listened, didn't argue, didn't really get distracted, and did more or less exactly what you told him because he was quick to learn. All that in mind... his guards had to be really bad teachers for him to be this bad at fighting still.

Despite Ada holding her own, she had lost against Mister Keeler... though, being Ada she'd probably keep going until she couldn't move. Keeler just called the match after realizing she didn't really have an off switch. Ada was a good sport, though. She didn't seem to mind that she lost, and was really just having a lot of fun.

Derrek, the one with the pain ability, was quiet throughout the exercise. He only spoke up once they were finishing, "You two are strange, you know that? We're hardly ones to judge, and certainly don't mind your brand of strangeness. It just leaves me curious, though, why, especially your kid, fights so well. It also makes me curious how good of a fighter you yourself are, Casey. What did you say your job was again?"

Keeler huffed, waving Derrek off, "Oh stop being so nosy. Whatever their reason, doesn’t matter. He could very well just have a family like mine. Hell, he could be in a business like I used to be. No skin off my back either way. If he’s an assassin - which is what I used to be - then cool we can chat about weird shit. I doubt that’s the case but Derrek just stop giving a shit about it. You’re too paranoid.”

They undid Calebs bindings, only for him to get his hand in her grip like a mother holding onto their child who was prone to wandering. "I'm sure we both agree you running off is a stupid idea, because then I'd be another person trying to kill you." Hauling him towards the bike she got him to mount it before getting up front, revving the engine. "I'll explain on the way. We're going to see someone named Chutes...apparently, they give the O.A the creeps, which is good enough of a lead for me. Long story short, O.A is a cult or as close as you can get. They're going to kidnap a lot of children if we don't stop them. And Caleb here is otherwise going to die if we don't put him somewhere safe. So he's going to hang out with this...Chutes. You're going to keep an eye on him. And...keep him busy while there's a chat that he shouldn't hear or see. Understood?"

Sean was a decent enough student, he had to admit that. He'd trained a few people before, so he could tell the kid had promise. Which meant he had to keep an eye on him for yet more reasons. Ada obviously was going to need more training. Maybe he should stop being so hand holdy. He couldn't do what his dad did to him though. It was a bit different with having your son strip to his boxers to beat the shit out of him, and having your teenage daughter strip down to beat the shit out of her. But maybe he should start taking notes from dad? No...no. No need for such drastics...yet.

Glancing at Derrek, he only offered a small shrug. "I'd say you're all equally strange, if not more so. I just spent a sparring match with a child who can open a portal to an apocalypse timeline." He made a point not to answer any questions, just glancing at Keeler. Nice to be covered he supposed. "With that said and done. Ada and I should start heading home. Could you guys give Sean a lift?"

SOPHIA

6319e6ef77dd21249349c4614e115fbd.pngAs Vice and James exited the room into the living room. They could easily see james was right. Adorning the walls were the door as jamed asked. But on the doors. Were carved murals. Detailing the story of each girl the door belonged to. For pydir, it showed a young dragon fightinf others before becoming stronger and stronger. Until it reached the centerpiece of pydir in her glorious form standing upon a mountain of dragon corpses. As the adventurers sacrificed their lives. To create the chains that bind pydir today. For sato. It brilliantly told the tale of her life and shrine. Even to its downfall. With the last main picture being sato solemnly sitting curled up at her shrine. Then Thyris. Telling the tale if her creation by the gods. Then her carrying out her duty. Before meeting james. And becoming captured. The very final image for this. Was thyris and sato sitting together hugging. For hignar.... Destruction. Was the only way to describe her door. As well as the various 30 locks sophia had installed. For sophias door. It showed and only black mass watching humanity before entering a doll. And waiting for centuries in a ruin. Until she met James and all the other books. The final picture being all of them in their human form happily standing together like a family photo. Vice included. And for vices. The door was blank. For her story had not been written fully yet. "Hello master...." Sophia said smiling. "Carving was interesting... it took me 5 years of practice to be able to do this." While the girl infront of vice and James didnt look like the sophia Vice knew. It instead was clearly the body of a human. But vice could hear no heartbeat. And her skin was quite pale. In conclusion. It had the same sort of ethereal beauty the doll had. For the wrong reasons though. This was still sophia. But simply using a dead body shr had suspended for a vessel.

"She did what!?" Shard yelled into the phone. Damnit scile. "Honey your daughter is an idiot" he said to zuzu before going back to the phone... A slight twitch in his eye as he listened her. This mortal.... She doesnt really get it at all. As if he would call her simply because of a little domestic dispute between his parents. "Come home? Wait for her to come home? Oh yeah. Sure. Let me just fo happily walk back t my living. And sit by the door. As I wait for my MOTHER WHO DIED GIVING BIRTH TO ME 4000 FUCKING YEARS AGO JUPITER TO JUST WALK BACK INSIDE. SHES BEEN FUCKING RESURRECTED JUPITER!!!" he yelled into the phone before hanging up as Melita kicked open the door to the facility. Seeing his mother in person for the first time in his life.

Diadem simply dropped his cane. As he witnessed her alive again. Prying himself from Melitas grasp. He walked right into the complex. As all the poor humans in their made grunts of pain. None orf them could move. Their blood wouldnt let them. Slowly. He approached chrysalia. Taking off his coat. And gently placing it on her. ".....Your as beautiful as the day I met you" was all he mumbled as he pulled her into a tight hug..... As his back was to the group. No one could see the tears falling down his face onto chrysalias shoulder.

Vice hugged her arm as they moved to the common area, feeling more than a bit awkward now. They didn't even get to Sophia's room. She had already made a bunch of doors. Vice pouted just a little, looking at all the doors. Wow. They were beautiful, no doubt, but... ah... Hignar's and Pydir's were... concerning, to say the least. Sophia's door was neat. It sort of made her want to pet the blackness. Sophia herself seemed really sweet. Entertaining too. The fact that she created doors and went through so much trouble (trying to ignore how little sense it made that she trained for five years), was really sweet. She even made a door for Vice and included her on her own door.

She offered her a smile, "You did a really amazing job, Sophia. I'm honored you included me. Maybe I'll have to tell you some of my own story sometime so my door doesn't stay so blank. Nice body, by the way. Makes you almost look related to me though!" She chuckled at the thought. Aside from the ears and tails, of course, she did kinda look related right now. It was cute.

~Anne and Dietrich~
Diner

1605720286763.png Anne blinked, examining her companions. Was she having some sort of stroke? Did Mia just say something about a demon? More importantly, she's a robot!? It was slow, but finally the connection was being made. Mia, she was in the news as a AI breakthrough. Anne had remembered some of her colleagues being so excited about her...it? The scientist herself hadn't given much thought aside from casual interest. Anne might've been a little handy, but she wasn't a gear head like some of her friends; that robot and AI stuff went right over her head. Holy shit. They were in front of celebrity!

Nervousness started to sink in as she registered just who Mia was. Should I ask for an autograph? Is that rude? Would I get into legal trouble? Shouldn't the AI have an escort or something? Even if she was on her own, someone had to be monitoring her, right? Anne was suddenly a little less excited as she realized that there could be a whole room of technicians who were monitoring Mia and now knew about Aia's existence. Might as well go to the local news station with how bad we're doing at keeping a low profile.

Moving to let Mia out, Anne startled as Aia very obviously used her tail to pick Mia up like a doll and place her outside of the booth. Oh my fucking shit. People were definitely looking at them. I was just being sarcastic about the news! It was starting to look like they legitimately might be on there at this rate. Of course, Aia didn't understand. She was staring eagerly at Mia, waiting to be told that she had done a good job. Putting her head into her hands, Anne took a deep breath. I can literally feel myself lose years off of my lifespan. Her mother had always told her that if she misbehaved then her own kids would be twice as bad. Aia wasn't necessarily bad, but she was fantastic at giving the scientist early grey hairs.

1605720298959.png He almost slipped up again. Morgan was human, enhanced or not, and could feel pain. As the demon continued to throw jabs at him, Dietrich resisted crushing his charge's hand and instead gripped his seat as he ground his teeth. He hoped that nobody could hear the crack his seat made as he accidentally broke a piece off. Moving his hand from the edge of the seat to his knee to prevent more damage to the innocent booth, the blond resisted the urge to bounce his leg like some sort of child.

Watching Aia lift Mia and put her outside of the booth while Anne's soul seemed to leave her body, Dietrich tried to force a smile on his face but he had a feeling it came out more like a grimace, "That's right, I wouldn't go bothering him if I were you, besides," his grimacing smile turned into something a little too eager, "I'll be sure to have a private conversation with him later." He didn't mean to, but he glanced at Morgan to gauge her reaction. Dietrich knew that she wouldn't mind as long as it was away from prying eyes, but he still needed to see the permission written on her face. He wasn't sure what he'd do if she didn't allow him to, but having her blessing to put that demon back into the depths of Hell where it belonged would make this tortuous experience a bit more bearable.

Craning his neck to look at the watch Mia had somehow reprogramed, he asked, "I have to ask, how did you do that?" Despite the fact that he had lived through the changing times and the technology advancements as well, he didn't adjust well. Perhaps it was because he was already an adult and it was hard to adapt to changes when you were older but the blond always found technology difficult to deal with. Morgan was doing her best to teach him though, which was why he was able to figure out, albeit slowly, that the watch was in binary. Well, Morgan can still read it so I suppose it really isn't 'broken'. Frowning, he thought aloud, "Does this happen when use a car too? Or just these...electrical devices?" Cars were machines too, but most ran on gas and didn't have much of a electronic 'brain'. Maybe Mia could mess with the GPS or radio stations, but not much with the engine, right? Electrical things like computers and Morgan's watch must be easier to interact with and change. It almost seemed like it should be illegal for the AI to have those abilities; she could hypothetically get into bank accounts, government encryptions, and other sensitive things.

Looking at Mia with a new interest, Dietrich couldn't help but wonder if Morgan had some sort of plan. Mia was certainly interesting from a educational point of view, but perhaps she could be an asset as well? Well, we'll just have to see how this plays out.

The somewhat normal mood he had eased himself back into disappeared as the demon’s presence crept closer and closer. Dietrich glared at the thing, hoping that would be enough to disuade the monster. Maybe it was the blond’s lack of action initially that made the demon bold enough to completely ignore his warning and waltz right up to the table to strike up a conversation. He could feel it again, much more strongly this time. That itch to get rid of the thing in front of him.

He thought about getting up to leave so he wouldn’t cause a scene, but he couldn’t leave Morgan behind. Running his free hand through his hair, he finally snapped, “For all of your knowledge, it seems like you never learnt basic manners. It’s rude to interrupt another group’s conversation; especially one you haven’t been invited too.” He wanted to say something more scathing, but they had guests and he couldn’t afford to lose his temper too badly in front of them.

Chrysalia.pngChrysalia and Others
"I'll be there soon," was all Jupiter managed to get through before he hung up. He should have led with the fact she had been resurrected... but unfortunately summoning a mass of heroes to look for someone delicate was... well... not really advisable. Obviously, it wasn't just a matter of her coming home, but holy fuck unless he was leading with the whole resurrected thing, in her mind, an ENTIRE STADIUM getting destroyed was a little bit of a higher priority. Now that she knew what was actually happening though, she was happy to help.

Chrysalia certainly wasn't expecting the door of her temporary abode to get kicked in suddenly. One of her delicate little hands went up to her throat in surprise. Her eyes were watering, seeing Diadem in such pain. She was small, even compared to him, and his coat was large on her shoulders. She let her hand that was at her throat glide to his cheek and she offered him a gentle kiss on his cheekbone against his tears, "I love you. I'm sorry I wasn't strong enough and haven't been there for you and for our son." Her voice was barely a whisper, and without making Diadem break his grasp on her she looked up at the others.

"Thank you all," she said, louder now, "I assure you I can regale you all of what has happened to me over some tea and muffins. Sound good? And... my child..." her eyes went straight to Shard, smiling with so much love in her eyes as she teared up again, "I love you so very much. I hope you'll have it in you to give me a chance to get to know you. I'm sorry I haven't been there for you all these years. I have so much catching up to do. You were always going to be our pride and joy. My beautiful little miracle child. Oh and Lady Seiva... thank you. You must have had a hand in his upbringing, considering you're here."

"Kinda like a big sister," Seiva replied, grinning wide as she began to chuckle, "Shall we go somewhere else, Diadem? Leave the humans here. Your wife will tell you who to kill, I'm sure."

Dantalion.pngDantalion
"You're still so very ridiculous," Dantalion said, shaking her head, "Alright, after I'm done I'll make some food from whatever's in the apartment. Thank you for allowing me this, Oriax." She turned to face him, legs crossed on the couch so she was somewhat comfortable, and stared into him. It took around twenty minutes before she was finally satisfied. Her eyes hurt, felt dry. Lucifer below, it was so strange being able to see again... She rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand and yawned, leaning against the back of the couch.

"That's... gonna be a lot to process," she muttered, standing up with a groan, "Don't worry. I've not forgotten about your food."

Moving to the kitchen, it was... not exactly the height of culinary success, but it was workable. There were a number of cans, and meat in the freezer as well as the fridge. At a quick glance - ugh, eyes still irritated - none of it was bad yet. He was a man of... simple needs, as he had put himself so concisely, so what better to give him than a rare steak? She fished out some potatoes and whipped together a perfectly done steak, mashed potatoes with a healthy heap of butter, and broccoli she had grabbed from the freezer and set over a boil. All of it was decently seasoned and genuinely very good and a great chef.

Dantalion brought out two plates, his own heaping while hers was modest, "Bon appetit. I hope it's good. I made your plate a bit heavier than mine, as you sounded so hungry. Thanks again, Oriax."

Oriax
'Stolen' Apartment | "Oh my god, it's actually food..."

"Do be careful, you should probably stop if the volume starts getting straining to process, unlike birdface, you've got brain cells left to damage," Oriax advised, half-jokingly as Dantalion cast her long-lost gaze upon him. "Especially since you haven't used those eyes for god-knows-how-long. I can't imagine it not being taxing whatsoever." Thankfully, the process proceeded without a hitch, and thankfully with no seizures, like the one occasion, where Oriax's moron of a boss cast his eyes upon an interdimensional spaghetti tentacle monster.

Oriax waved Dantalion off as she headed for the kitchen. Surprisingly, in the time it took the girl to prepare two meals, Oriax had somehow sat still, and Dantalion would return to an intact room. When she set the two plates down on the table, Oriax was practically drooling a river, whilst muttering something about 'real food'. Apparently, a steak was all it took for a demon to throw all his dignity away and slobber over food like a rabid animal. He immediately cut off a (frighteningly) sizeable chunk of the steak, and shoved it into his mouth, swallowing it without even chewing.

What followed was a long, awkward period of absolute silence. Oriax sat there, paralyzed. Was Dantalion's cooking so horrid that it had killed Oriax on the spot?

"By the gods..." Oriax finally mumbled, barely audible. For some reason, he was starting to tear up, his eyes red and bloodshot. "It's food. It's actually food." He continued to mumble incomprehensibly whilst shoving food down his throat. Within less than two minutes, his plate had been wiped clean. Satsified, Oriax put his knife and fork down, and let out a lengthy and dejected sigh. "If nothing, I miss birdbrains' cooking," he mumbled forlornly to himself. "I still remember the last thing he cooked up, I never thought a Magma Kraken was edible, let alone taste so heavenly... motherfucker never wrote down his fucking recipes..." Groaning, Oriax pushed his emptied plate aside as he facedesked. "Say, you think there's a way to get your dad's recipes?"
