~Anne and Dietrich~
Diner

1602459886270.png Sputtering while trying to gently push Aia's face out of licking range, Anne only just realized that they were standing like a couple of idiots in the rain. Oh boy. Shuffling Aia along with her, the doctor used one hand to wipe the mixture of rain and saliva off of her face. "I hope you don't mind us getting your car wet," she quipped. At this point there was no hiding that Aia wasn't human, but the people who had helped her didn't seem like they were itching to take the alien from her. She could trust them enough to allow them to pay for lunch. Diner's good too, less likely to run into one of those kids who puts every weird thing they see on the Internet. Smiling, Anne replied, "Well, I'm always eager to inspire the next generation. Especially another young woman."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1602459873534.png Dietrich had to admit, he hadn't really prepared well for the rain. Granted, he had the umbrella that he was holding over Morgan's head, but no clothes for their sopping wet guests to change into. Trying to remember if they had any towels in the boot of the car, he ushered the three women back to the safety of the car. Once they were seated inside, he went searching in the boot only to find a few blankets that they had stuffed back there in case one of them got cold. Well, it's better than nothing. Grabbing them, Dietrich hurried into the driver's side with both the blankets and umbrella. Passing the blankets back to Anne and Aia, the older woman gave him a grateful, "Thank you," as she accepted them. The scientist worked on drying off her daughter as Dietrich turned back around to start the car.

They mostly drove in silence, with the occasional noises from Aia in the back and some comforting murmurings from Anne breaking the monotony of the rain pattering against the windshield. It was oddly comfortable. Of course, the mood had to end as the blond eventually pulled into the parking lot of a diner. "Alright," turning to address the two women in the back, he asked, "I can take trips with the umbrella, do you want to wait for me to escort you or do you want to risk the rain?"

Anne's expression was unreadable as she stared for a few seconds before bursting out into laughter. "I think a little more rain won't make a difference. We'll run for it!" Nodding, Dietrich dutifully grabbed the umbrella and made his way over to Morgan's side. Helping the redheaded woman out of the car, the two had a great view of Anne and Aia hustling across the parking lot towards the entrance of the diner. Once they had made it, the dark-haired scientist turned back around to wave at them; like as if they didn't just watch the duo's mad dash. He snorted in amusement. It was hard not to, they were so ridiculous.

Raum
A School Soccer Field | "It seems luck is quite the playful one today."

Raum hummed to himself as he glided around the sky above Los Angeles. The demon was in a good mood - he always tended to be in a good mood following an interesting encounter, and a chance meeting with a genetically modified alligator-death-machine was quite high in ranking on Raum's list of 'interesting encounters', alongside a sentient venus flytrap who wanted to be a rose, and an alien hatchling who unwittingly ended up on Earth after taking a nap on the spacecraft and came along for the ride on Apollo 11's return trip.

As he flew aimlessly, Raum was suddenly alerted to a bright object falling from the sky. In fact, the thing plummeted straight past him, barely missing the raven by a hair's breadth. Raum let out a startled squawk as he lost his composure for a moment, almost falling out of the sky before managing to regain his self-control and avoid falling to an ugly, messy death. "A comet? Really?" Raum muttered to himself as he hovered lower, watching as the shooting star, or whatever that was, slam into a school's soccer field, wrecking about half of the school in the process. "That's definitely unusual. A falling meteor would've resulted in much more damage," Raum said to himself as he landed in the midst of the dust and smoke, and moved closer to the fallen object.

As he went in closer, the silhouette of the object became visible, and Raum immediately took note that it didn't quite look like a rock. "It won't hurt to check," he said as he moved in closer, eyes widening as his gaze pierced deep into the fallen object. He didn't stop, and continued approaching even as mountains of new information entered his mind, informing him of the nature of the creature; a dragon celestial, fearsome enough to be dubbed as a 'world eater', felled and sealed by the combined efforts of what should have been mere prey. "A classic tale of lesser beings rising up to slay their natural betters, hmm?" Raum commented. It seemed as though the sealing ritual cast upon the creature had left its memories in a tangled mess, thin strands of history that had long decayed and was already faded. "A fearsome behemoth, plagued by ravenous famine. I daresay I've found quite the dangerous beast; how lucky, two intriguing beings within the same day."

Despite becoming aware of the insurmountable danger this infant dragon posed, Raum didn't bother to flee, not showed even an ounce of fear toward it. "Good morning, or well, good afternoon, I should say. Do tell, how was your eons-long slumber?" He asked, in a jovial voice.

Muse.jpgMuse
For as awful as this situation was, and as terrible as she felt for making it happen, she was actually feeling a tinge of annoyance with Panzer for being so nonchalant about it. She sounded fake. She sounded like her mother just smiling and saying sweet platitudes to try to make her feel better. Abigail sighed and went quiet, just nodding as she pulled away from the hug a little. Won't abandon her. Sure. Same thing mom said before shoving her on her Grandma. Ugh... she felt sick to her stomach now just thinking about it. All sweetness drained from her like a tipped glass only to be filled with spite.

Still, she only noted it with a slightly crinkled nose, "You should get that looked at and patched up properly, or actually healed. I imagine you have a healer on-staff, given your income? Go get it healed." It was her fault. She was always a burden on the people around her. Stupid voice. She needed to learn to just shut up. This was what she got for being happy and open with her mentor. Even now, that statement was more like a command with her voice's effect, as she turned around.

"I'm going to go chill out. We can start training again after your hand is better... and maybe we can actually do something important then. I don't feel like being a hospital aide to someone like some last rights preacher. As much as that girl needs help, and I'm fine with singing her a pretty song now and again, she needs a shrink. I'm not one. Can we start with guns? I already have a hunting license, so I have some experience firing weapons," she said, voice flat, pissed off. Muse was looking down at her phone, staring at the message left on read. Maybe she could call him and chill out a bit.

"I'll be right back," she stated with a sort of finality, walking back out of the house, outside even though it was raining (though still under the awning), and flicked the call button with a massive sigh. If he answered... or anyone on the other side answered, for that matter, she'd start talking before even giving them a chance to speak, "Hey. Sorry, I'm being nosy and annoying by calling you. You probably didn't answer my text for a reason. I'm having a crappy day so far. A weird day, too. Can we chat for a bit? I could use the company."

"You're definitely louder than a lab rat," Addison chuckled, grinning at her roommate, "Anyway, yeah, I have a good starting point, but it's hard. I don't really have much precedent to go by for information. Heck, I barely even know any psychics!" She groaned a little, "You're gonna get it stuck in my head now. I need to first come up with a question, in particular, I'm trying to answer, or something I want to study in particular. It's too broad right now. I don't mind using you as the starting point though if you're so willing for it."

"I dunno though, got any deep dark secrets rattling around in your head?" she chuckled again, sticking out her tongue at her temporarily, "You probably have really boring secrets. Not as boring as anything I'd have, though."

Needless to say pushing Aia’s face out of licking range wasn’t gonna go over well since her tongue was so long. Still Aia was happy as can be as her face was mushed against Anne’s hand. Her tongue extended out to continue licking her cheek till they started to move for the car. As soon as Anne had the door open Aia jumped in, shaking like a dog to get the water off before she felt the blankets wrapping around her. Clicking and cooing as she moved around in the back seat, cuddling Anne as well as the blankets. Trying to play with Anne more than let her dry Aia off. She wasn’t being helpful nor really cognoscente of her actions as her long tail slid over into the front seat and into Morgan’s lap and down to her feet.

throughout the entire drive her tail sat on Morgan’s lap Giving her ample time for “study as Aia squirmed and tried to play with Anne in the back while cuddling her. Her attention was grabbed though When the car came to a stop she looked out the window excitedly.Figuring this is where they where gonna get out Aia turned her attention to the door and started to fiddle with it before finding the handle. After a few tries she managed to pull on it and open the door. Letting out a few clicks of joy at her accomplishment she pushed the door open and climbed out on all fours. Her tail quickly following after her as they went back into the rain. Watching her mother start to dash for the diner Aia quickly caught up to her. Scampering on her hind legs till she made it with Anne and looked back at there two friends in wait. Watching Anne wave at them Aia let out a call to them as if to ask for them to come.

He looked genuinely scared at her cruel joke, clinging to the trashcan for a moment more before he shoved himself up to a seated position. Mochanna just glared at her, considering at least for a second or two that maybe crime was worth it just to kick her ass for doing that to him. But... no. He went through it for his girls. He'd... he'd go through it a thousand times over for them. She was going on about things but right now he could barely listen. He was still reeling. Sins were wiped off, huh? Didn’t make him feel any better for what he had done... God, he had done some horrible things. He couldn’t even remember what she had asked him to do! Mochonna watched her in silence after she finished explaining, his head on fire like the worst hangover in existence.

“Do you think God cares about us anymore?” He asked out of the blue, “Sorry. Head’s spinning. I can’t focus on serious business right now... I’m not asking that in a depressing way, by the way. Genuinely curious. There’s this whole nihilistic world view in my family. ‘Why should I care? Hasn’t God done worse in the Bible? Everyone’s a sinner anyway.’ And this feeling of rebellion. That he left us. That we should work against his ideals because he left us. It’s all so petty and stupid, but when you’re raised in it it’s so hard to break free from it. It’s all you know. Like a cult.”

As the frozen ice around the beast melted She started to wake. The cracking of rock and Ice echoing throughout the are as her wings burst free. Then her legs, it stumbled around in this half cocooned state before it started to glow a blinding white before the rock and ice exploded, a massive plume of cosmic breath that looked like cosmic dust . Closing it's jaws Visvian shook her head in a daze before She locked her eyes on a strange thing. She bared her Jaws at it in her weakened state as she stumbled back and fourth a little before she fell. Groaning as she laid there, her nose inches from the bird thing before something strange happened. Slowly the beast started to shrink and change, turning into a little girl that laid in the middle of the crater, passed out now from the strain as she groaned quietly in her sleep.

Raum
A School Soccer Field | "Still drowsy, are you?"

Raum raised a wing in front of his head as the dragon broke free of its icy prison and let out its cosmic breath, shielding himself from stray bits of ice and cosmic dust. He lowered his wing when the racket settled, in time to watch the dragon bare its teeth at him before awkwardly stumbling into the ground, landing uncomfortably close to Raum. "Going back to sleep, are you?" Raum asked. The demon seemed rather unsurprised, giving no reaction whatsoever when the beast's form began to shrink and change drastically, to take on the visage of a harmless, little girl.

"That being said, this isn't the best place to be taking a nap. Especially not after the mess you just made." Approaching the sleeping child, Raum poked it in the cheek with his talon, to no avail. Letting out a soft sigh, Raum flew off, only to return minutes later, carrying a bottle of water. Landing in front of the sleeping child, Raum unscrewed the bottle and poured water on the child to wake her up. "Good morning, rise and shine, kid."

Vice was considerably uncomfortable as she realized the nature of their companion, and her ears flattened. Still, she'd be just as polite to the little abomination. It was rather cold, she supposed... but she wouldn't freeze. Honestly, no one should be able to freeze, but... James probably could... She sighed and walked inside, sitting down. The windows bothered her. The forest in the distance. This was one of those places that tried to bend your mind if you looked for too long. Downright creepy. She half felt as though the tea would blink at her if she stared into its black abyss too long. Oh well. She wouldn't be rude. Even if it was poison, it wouldn't hurt her. Vice took a small sip of the tea.

"I'm going around connecting our rooms. You may call me Vice. I landed in the hands of your master thanks to Nyarlathotep... the asshole that he is. Unfortunately, I am incredibly limited on energy in this form, so that much fiddling about with spacial energies has tired me out and I'll have to wait to do the rest unless you'd like to help," she explained, heaving a small sigh of annoyance at her own form, "I was also interested in meeting everyone, so that's why I'm doing so in the first place. I am also creating a common ground, likely to look like an apartment, in time. At the moment it looks like little more than a blank white box. I'm a reality manipulator like you, so I guess I'm interested in seeing what we have in common. Already I can tell you enjoy more of a horror flair than I do..."

PING
The key was easy to find, truth be told... the fact this was set up by the mind of a six-year-old child was becoming only more obvious as time went on. The key, now glimmering in the sight of the spell, sat just out of sight under a nearby park bench. It was comedically large but fit into the equally large keyhole of the Rubiks cube perfectly. With the key in the cube, a slot appeared in the second door in front of them, past the podium that held that infernal riddle. The door consumed the cube into the slot with a loud activation chime and opened as though poor Quasar hadn't just lost a few brain cells to that frustration.

To reward Samantha's use of her spell, the system gave her a small pouch of 50 gold coins.

Beyond the door laid a spiral staircase that hugged the outer edge of a circular room. They had now gained access to the main tower. It seemed this had multiple floors, and on each floor, they would need to pass a challenge. In this case, there was not another riddle waiting for them. Instead, at the opening of the door, a small-statured woman with a crazed look in her startlingly bright, purple-pink eyes, shot towards Samantha like an animal. The woman growled and tried to cling onto her like a monkey so she could latch onto her throat with her elongated canines.

Dispite his clear discomfort, his motions did not falter. He had no choice in this dance, and this champion of Michael had made him realize this. Someone so close to his own profession. He crouched a few inches before darting forward towards Deus Vult, sword swinging up from below and across to his right. He spoke once more, voice somber, begging despite his smo, "Kill me. I cannot stop myself. My motions are not my own. I do not wish to disgrace God. Please."

“When I am brought down by your blade, find my daughter and give her my sword!” He shouted, moving to make his next move be to bring his blade down and into his opponent’s stomach, “I want her to take up my blade and follow in my footsteps, but to avoid whatever led to this pitfall. I hope her to be ten times as strong willed as I was, and to serve God with fervor. As my opponent, with honor, I hope you see this through.”

Visvian laid there grumbling quietly when she was poked. Reaching up and gently swatting at the claw as she curled up. She was resting peacefully till she was splashed with the cold water. Jolting away she sat straight up, whining adorably as she reached up and whipped the water from her face. Whining as she looked up at the bird thing that had poured water on her with a pout. “Bully.” Was all she said to him in a quiet somewhat monotone voice as she got up to her feet. Looking around The area in some deal of confusion. “W-where am I?” She asked softly

Samantha smiled happily as she looked about the room before her eyes set on the big key. Walking over she picked it up and went to the cube.Putting the key in and watching the door open. She had little time though to notice the sack of coins she had been awarded as a woman burst out running at her. Any other time samantha would have known exactly what to do, but they where in an RPG, and she was a wizard like character. Something she knew not how to use. Panicking Samantha started to back step quickly before her heal got caught on a stone. She started to fall back which didn’t help but still she was focused enough. As she fell Samantha pointed her staff at whatever the woman was as a massive fireball cake bursting out of it right at the things chest before she hit the ground with a thud.

Detective Marshall

Marshal glanced in the rearview as Enzo squirmed away from Dunnie like she might eat him at any moment, causing him to roll his eyes. "Relax, please. She's docile and nice enough. As for a call in private, as a suspect your privacy is limited. I'd have to be present for your phone call at the very least, though no others would have to be there." He paused for a moment, sighing a bit. "Dunnie, we really have to work on your ability to not spill everything on the spot, sometimes it's best to leave a few things unsaid. As for what a human child is like...just like Sylvia said. As well as that just...try to act like Sylvia I suppose? No portals, no extra eyes, no swallowing things a normal person shouldn't swallow." The irony of what he had just said wasn't lost on him, he had just swallowed a cigarette not too long ago. Granted, it was a horrible experience and probably wouldn't have bothered Dunnie as much as it had him, but still.

As the phone started to ring he glanced at it, then back at Enzo with confusion before he reached out and picked up. No sooner had a call been answered did he get hit with some young woman on the other end gushing. Oh dear...shit. "Ma'am? My name is Detective Marshall, I apologize, but the person you're calling is currently in custody for an ongoing investigation. May I ask for his relation to you?" As they turned into the precinct and he climbed out of the car, he motioned for Sylvia to take over the driver seat as he stepped out into the rain, moving around to the back seat to help Enzo out and flashing him an actual apologetic look. "If you can give me a few minutes, I can have him call you back."

James

James jumped a bit as Sophia simply spoke up from behind him. He had gotten used to it, but not enough it seemed since he still jumped. Looking over his shoulder at her he offered a small smile before speaking. "I'm still going to knock. 'Master' or not, this is your home. I'm not just going to barge into your cabin. Even if it is...probably warmer than this artic circle you live in...Good to see you anyway." As she opened the door to invite them in, James had enough common sense and respect ingrained into his brain to quickly step out of his shoes before hurrying inside to the warmth of the cabin, heaving a content sigh. Okay, a lot better than the outside. Moving to the open chair and settling down he lifted the tea to his lips, taking a small sip. Even though Vice was probably uncomfortable, this was pretty routine for James at this point. Honestly, more par for the course than anything. He knew better than to question the tea, if it was harmful to him she wouldn't have invited him to drink it. So by those standards, good enough to drink. "Thank you, Sophia. You know...I didn't expect your grimoire to be so...cozy. Though am I correct in assuming the further we go from the cabin, the more likely my sanity will slip?"

He listened to Vice take the floor for a bit before nodding, taking another sip of tea. "Right. As she said, there's a small 'commons' she's making for the grimoires to connect, I'm not sure why I never thought of asking for it. After we're done visiting, I'd like you to make doors to the other Grimoires. Please make them out of cherry wood, and make them thirty six inches wide by eighty inches tall, with the door itself being two inches thick. You're free to choose what kind of doorknob it has. And please make Hignar's door lock from the outside, in the commons, due to the fact I don't want her to just rush out and attack everyone on sight." He felt fairly certain he'd covered every possible base when it came to Sophia. Honestly, he felt like she was so literal some times because she found it amusing, but he couldn't be certain, not really. "Sophia isn't too...horror-esque. She's actually very sweet and polite."

"Don't mind at all actually, it can be cleaned and dried out, just like any other vehicle can." Not to mention it wasn't her 'personal' vehicle, but rather a 'rental'. Highly modified, but a rental nonetheless. At her agreement for a chat, she offered another small smile, walking back to the car with Dietrich. "I appreciate it, Doctor. I truly do." Climbing into the passenger side front seat, she folded her hands in her lap as she waited for Dietrich to handle their guests appropriately, eyes ahead of them on the pouring rain battering the hood. When Aia hopped in she shook like a dog trying to clean its coat of moisture, which resulted in some of the rainwater splattering Morgan who seemed relatively unfazed. Reaching a hand up she wiped her hair dry, then her neck. Definitely an animal, though none she'd ever encountered. The doctor didn't seem the sort to bio-engineer a daughter, nor would that make sense. She could very easily bore a child or adopted, so what was Aia then?

Aia's tail sat dead in her lap, and with such a good opportunity before her, she couldn't just ignore it. She didn't dare poke or touch it, rather she'd take the time to just look it over. Instead of scales like she expected, it was skin which was...not what she anticipated. Beautiful porcelain white with red markings, and from where her tail sat on her she could guess it was about three to four meters, she'd have to look at her again when she was out of the car to really tell. As they arrived at the diner and she stepped out beneath the umbrella with Dietrich, she suppressed a small giggle before she returned to her usual monotone expression. Four meters, approximately. She couldn't really study her more without making it awkward. "Quite the interesting pair, aren't they?," she whispered to Dietrich, starting forward with him towards the Diner proper.

Axiom heads over to Thomas and Tabby and puts a hand on Thomas' shoulder "Are you two still holding up alright?" He wanted to be sure if they were alright due to the whole situation regarding Beast, though Tabby wasn't at all hurt and seemed to have handled the situation alot more professionally than he did. Thomas...We'll what could he say? He hasn't met Beast himself until now and it was a sight to see. Aswell as a pretty heart-racing experience. It wasn't the first but he knew why the Beast was regarded as such a threat. But he didn't know was how Thomas felt about Beast. Turning into something that monstrous, that unconyrollable like that probably had some sort of toll on his mind in some way.

She stuck her tongue out at Addison, despite the fact she couldn't see it. "You wouldn't know what to do if I started to be as quiet as a lab rat. As for psychics...hmm...put out a help wanted ad maybe? After you establish what you're doing, I mean. But yea, I'm all for helping out, you help me when you can too, so it's only fair!" At her question of if she had any dark secrets her eyes widened a bit. Shiiiiit. "Listen, a girl is entitled to her secrets, right? Boring or not, they're mine. Let's not go searching for em though, yea?" If she found out what she did in her past time she'd be so screwed. Not to mention if her dad found out...she'd be dead as a doornail. "Food's almost done!" She paused for a moment, eating some more of her ramen as she watched the chicken cook.

Of all the things she expected him to say, the question he offered definitely wasn't any of them. She quirked her head a bit, empty sockets regarding him. Oh God, it was gonna be one of these conversations then? "Mochonna, let me ask you a question. If you had to go away, would you stop caring about your daughter? If you couldn't see her, speak to her, or even hope to see her anytime soon would you stop caring? You're a father now, so I think the answer is an obvious no. If that's not good enough for you, if he really didn't care anymore, don't you think he'd hit the big reset button? He's done it once already, if you remember the stories of Noah and his ark. If he gave up, don't you think he'd do something like that again? I'm not one for guidance or being a pastor or anything like, but if you want the cold hard truth. If God stopped caring about creation, he'd have wiped it and made something he preferred. As for God doing 'worse'. Sometimes a father has to punish his children. It's why people like me stay in a job. It's why your family was originally made. To punish people who deserved it, and protect those who couldn't protect themselves. If you want to get a different view on things, go talk to Father Anderson. He's a catholic priest in the area, he's probably a better person to speak about this than me."

As the paladin charged forward, the crusader was quick to react. He raised his shield up, the blade rebounding rather harmlessly against the thoroughly blessed armor. "If death you seek, then death I shall grant you! You will find your redemption through your life's end! Grant me your name, so I may find your kin!" The man's voice boomed with the authority of a man who had commanded an entire legion on the battlefield and into hell itself, a voice that demanded an answer no matter your own reservations. A voice that demanded obedience. As the paladin swung towards his stomach he parried with his own blade, making a few quick marching steps towards the paladin and swinging towards his sword arm at the joint of the armor, where it allowed the shoulder to move and function properly, the armpit more accurately as he sought to literally 'disarm' him.

"Your kin shall find your blade, and your last wish shall be honored! Though you have fallen from grace, I have no doubt you were an honorable servant of the Lord. Now then, grant me your name!"

I try not to think about it too much. Tabby probably handles the entire situation better than I do, as ironic as that is. You alright? You uh...It didn't hurt you, did it?" He always had to deal with the lingering fact and concern that Beast may have gotten annoyed with someone he should have been working with, and decided to lash out against them for one reason or another.

Axioms gives Thomas a reassuring smile and a pat on the back "If I'm breathing then I'm lucky. And I usually don't do luck." Which was true. Axiom knew that he could've died three times today. Either from falling into the crater, getting crushed by Beast, or getting killed by the dark paladin. The fact the worst he's suffered right now were a few bruises and a racing heart was a miracle on within itself. But even if I did get hurt, I don't hold it against you. I put myself in Beast's path voluntarily, so whatever would've happened to me would be my own fault, alright?" Axiom looks to Tabby "And I want to apologize for potentially putting you in danger for stepping in when I shouldn't have. I just didn't want that young man to die."

Jewel, finally with a moment to spare between Chrysos the puddle of pain and Fay pissing his pants with rage, had her moment of calm disturbed by a sudden phone call. "Yello?" she answered, practically on the first ring, stepping out of the apartment as she did so with a finger to the rest of them to say 'one moment'.

"Not interrupting, I trust?" Casey's voice was just a bit deeper than usual, routine masking of the voice more than anything else. "I need something done. And rather than call someone all the way in Europe, I figured it'd be easier to get it from you."

"Oh, how the turns have tabled. Unfortunately, Tristan Industries don't want to hire you back for return fire. That said, I'm open to hearing what you're looking for," her voice was grinning, clearly amused, "Tell me what it is and I'll tell you my price."

He couldn't help but roll his eyes, voice unamused as ever. "Not my problem if I'm hired or not. Someone's always paying somewhere. I need a set of talismans made, something to disrupt temporal manipulation. It's not magic-based, so it may be a natural ability. I doubt that's going to stop you though. I can elaborate if that's going to make your job less time-consuming."

She paused, "Oh... well then. You're not asking for something simple. Especially since it has to work around your anti-magic... I mean, even if you asked someone else, you know that's not gonna be cheap, right? Elaborate though, I'm intrigued."

"If I was in need of something simple, I wouldn't be calling you. As for the price, if the price of equipment that was worth a damn bothered me, I wouldn't have this profession. There's a child with temporal powers that could become a bigger headache than I need while I'm working in the area. Something along the lines of a time pause or more accurately, time slowing. Timeline manipulation itself, and the ability to make a small portal to another apocalyptic timeline. The biggest thing is I want to ensure he can't manipulate the holder of the talismans timeline without them telling him to."

"Got it...," she muttered, smushing the phone into her cheek as she jotted notes down in her grimoire, "Well I'll do it. Any other info?"

"What am I looking at, payment wise, and how long can I expect this to take?"

"It's gonna be a pain in the ass to make. If you're okay with it, I have an apprentice that can help me gather materials?"

"I don't see a reason to say no. Unless your apprentice is the kind who blows up everything they try to help with?"

"It's always best to ask first. Anyway," she sighed, rolling around numbers in her head, "If I really push it, I should be able to get it done in a week. As for payment... mm... is your kid doing jobs yet?"

"Kite's not working alone yet if that's the question. Why?"

"Well, I like taking opportunities to teach, so that's why. You guys know where I live, yeah? Not hard to figure it out. We've done some security updates recently, but I think they're not enough. Maybe it'd be fun to have you and your little Kite try to break into my house?"

Silence on the other line for the moment hung in the air before he spoke again. "Alright. Easy enough. What do you want to be done, and what are the ground rules?"

Jewel yawned, glancing back through the window into the apartment, "Mm... No killing anyone. No breaking the house - though glass is fine. You can break glass if you need to. Fire counts as breaking. Basically, I want you to try to get in and out without being noticed, and take... oh I don't know... some item of value. It could be a crayon box for all I care - we can work out what you'd take later. A few rounds would be best so we can see where the weak points are. Heck, you could let Kite try by herself if you wanted. I'd make sure she wouldn't get hurt, of course, not that she would anyway doing an exercise like that."

"Understood. So about three rounds of entering your estate, taking something out, not getting detected. I can do that. Is there anything else you want to cover? Otherwise, I'll consider that my job."

"With Kite. That's the point of it, or, half of the point anyway... I want her to be able to take the learning experience... gah I've gone full mom mode with these two idiots I have to teach...," she sighed, "Right. Anyway. Uh... no crippling injuries either. I don't care if you break someone's bone, just do it cleanly so it'll set without crippling them later. Be aware if you get caught, you'll not get in trouble or anything of course, but they might skirmish with you a bit. If you wanna do more than three rounds, then cool. If not, then three is fine. Sound like fun?"

"Understood. I can do that. As for fun...we'll see how it goes."

She said bye and hung up the phone before heading back inside with another sigh. James was talking with the merlin chick who had an accent thicker than a wizard's beard. "I don't think I want to really go to the council yet but... I mean... I don't want to leave Fay. Isn't there a way you can check me out here instead?" he asked, little brow furrowed with so much concern, "And would I actually be able to live here? Don't... I mean... don't you think my parents are gonna freak out? My sisters too... they're all gonna freak."

Jewel moved over to Chrysos and patted his back a little, speaking quietly so as to not interrupt the others, "Hey. No rounds should be needed, especially not with that woman here. She's a really strong mage, and very much so on our side. That boy is my other apprentice, and he found his used-to-be-dead friend in a burning building a little bit ago, so we're handling that and figuring everything out. As for now, we just have to wait and relax. There's not much for us to do yet."

Mochonna MacAlasdair.pngMochonna
Mochonna let a dry chuckle escape his nose, “I guess that’s true. I wasn’t really asking it as some existential thing, just genuinely curious. Even for you it must be hard to feel like he hasn’t abandoned you, sometimes. If I had been a hero, things would have been so different. I think at this point, though, I want nothing to do with either side of the fight. I just want to live quietly.”

He sighed and scrunched his nose at the trashcan, then forced himself to stand up, still shaky. Mochonna chuckled again, “Oh this feels miserable. Anyway, on to what you want. I don’t know any... well, I only know a couple buyers. I don’t have access to information that could bring the family down, either. It’s all compartmentalized carefully so no one can manage to do that. It’s been tried before. Since I’ve been trying to pull out, all access I used to have is closed off too, except for minimal functional stuff. MacAlasdair is a huge company, so it’s bound to have scandals now and again. It can all be swept under the rug so so easily. If something really becomes a problem they’ll just pin it on a small employee and terminate them to solve it. The... the Leash isn’t so big for no reason... and it’s not called the Leash for no reason, either. They have people and companies by the balls. That includes lawmakers and judges too. Even if you take them to court, they’ll win. If... if you took out Dara and Cianan... then their son, Darren, would take over as head of the company. That... could lead to changes.”

Raum
School Soccer Field | "A bully? Hardly."

The demon showed no reaction to the child's pouting, pouring icy-cold water on a sleeping loli's face with no remorse. Neither did he give a reaction to the loli's adorable whining. "I wouldn't go so far as to call myself a bully," Raum replied in a calm voice. "Do forgive me, but there isn't many other options for a crow to wake a sleeping child. However, as it stands, you've ruined an entire school, and I suspect the police, or some other 'hero' will be at the scene in no time. That would make it less than ideal for a nap, especially for you, the culprit of this incident."

When Visvian got to her feet, Raum quickly flew up, perching onto the little girl's right shoulder. "Well, you are quite far from home," Raum replied to her confused question. "The magic that flows through the veins of this world is far eclipsed by your own world. This is Earth, aeons away from your homeworld. With that out of the way, we should probably leave before things get troublesome. By the way, my name is Raum."

Visvian looked around the destruction quietly as the bird spoke. “There are many other ways to wake someone besides that bully.” She said quietly to it without looking to the bird. She looked at it when it came to land on her shoulder. Sniffing at the creature curiously before looking around. “Who’s coming for me?” She asked the bird quietly before her attention was pulled elsewhere. Her stomach growled making her look down. Holding her hands on her stomach for a moment before she looked up.

“I’m hungry.” Was all Visvian said as she looked around the crater. Her eyes setting on a crystallized part of the asteroid she had come in on and walked over to it. Grabbing one of the shards she broke it off with ease and brought the crystal to her mouth. While you’d think she wouldn’t be able to Visvian bit into it, breaking a piece off like a candy bar with ease and started to chew it. “Why should we leave?” Visvian asked the bird with a mouth full of crystals
