Elias R. and Charlie Ernest
Elias had been sitting on the bench for awhile, flipping his phone over and over, waiting for that damn phone call. He had a lot to think about, and it wasn't about work this time. He figured that he would ride out this season comfortably, but no, she had to intervene again. He wasn't angry, just frustrated. Always picking the worst time to do things, huh? He thought, narrowing his eyes. Eli snapped out of his thoughts when he was approached by sweet Eleanor. He looked a little confused at first, but remembered that she and Val were together most of the day, so she probably knew. The elder let out a long sigh- he hadn't realized he was holding it in. "You really are too kind. To be honest, I'll need all the help I can get." He did a careless shrug. "I'm glad I have more people that won't hesitate to help me back on my feet." Eli opened his mouth to return the farewell, but his phone began to buzz and ring.
"Dad!" Charlie's voice rang out, loud enough to even be heard through the doors. The boy rode along the path on a skateboard, a Christmas present from Eli. He stopped and pushed open the door, giving both of them a large smile. His father, heart lifting, had closed the gap and picked up his son. "Charles! My little monster!" He put the child down and answered the phone, confirming that he arrived. Charlie waved at Ellie. "You're the lady that gives me cookies.."

Joseph Valentino
Joseph held the box of his favorite cookies close, watching as the other woman was allowed inside. What was her name again? Alexis Stone? He had heard Eli mention her while Val got ready to leave. And the host of the small party, Felix Rose. He hoped they weren't too dramatic like Ian, or puzzling like Sasha. Not that he didn't like them, they just weirded him out. Taking a deep breath, Val walked up to the door as it was closing. He stopped it with his foot and knocked lightly. "Evening. I'm taking Eli's place tonight since he's.." He paused to find the right words. "..Busy with family business. Hope I'm good enough company." He slipped his free hand into his pocket.
