It's not me until I pull on a few heartstrings.
Samuel (Sam) NightlockKingston and Sam were assigned to the French district, which was full of beautiful parks, buildings, even the streets always seem to stay clean. Everywhere you looked, roses of all colors lines the streets which just makes you feel like you were no longer in Seaside. The french district was the farthest location from the Ocean, but they had the trails. That meant that the district was located in the cliffs and hillside.
The flower shops, bakeries, and small boutiques were all open as several people were walking about. Sam just kept an eye on the shops as he found some items he knew his sisters would like. Maybe I should come by here and get mom some flowers. That'll make her day. I can even get the scarf Minerva wants, along with Nicole's brim hat, just in time for the warm weather.
"You are planning something..." Kingston brought Sam back to the ride.
Sam laughed as he returned his attention to the road and the people, "Just thought I should come by here to get some things for my sisters and mother."
Kingston hummed his agreement, understanding Sam. He himself has his wife and daughter to thin about. His son was already married, but his focus was always on his wife and daughter. Sam just smiled as he recalled the day Kingston found out his daughter was friends with Sam's sister, Nicole. Sam himself was also shocked but it was the first step to getting the two to come closer and earn each other's trust.
Alexis (Lexi) StoneThe office Lexi was given as Mrs. Lore's PA, was great in size, but she rarely stayed in there too long, as she kept close to Mrs. Lore. Her tablet and business cell phone allowed her to do everything at that moment, but right now she needed a moment to catch her breath. Lore will be the end of her self-esteem if she stays in her presence.
She sat on her office chair, as she held onto a picture of her family she took the day she was in England before she set off to Seaside. In that picture you could see the hope she had to become a Fashion Designer, not where is right now. 50 hours of her life was spent her in the publishing offices, and even more taking night call from Mrs. Lore.
"What am I doing with my life," Lexi asked herself as she took a deep breath, "This isn't what I came here to do..."
Her now cold Latte was still sitting on her desk when she noticed the little note written on the cup. It was hidden under the sleeve, and it read, "Keep following your dreams. Because I'm still waiting for you to be the Fashion Icon, I know you will become. -Ellie and the Cafe Staff."
Holding back tears, she picked up her personal belongings and put them into her large bag. It wasn't a lot, just two picture frames and her backup make up bag. Once she had everything, she took the tablet and work phone, entering Mrs. Lore's office once more. The look of shock on her face didn't faze Lexi, as she placed the electronics and announced, "I quit."
She ignored the demands from Lore as Lexi continued to walk toward the elevators. Everyone in the bull pin was getting up to see what was happening since their boss was giving chase, after Lexi. Once she was in the elevator, Lexi turned to the staff and bowed as the doors close slowly. She was free from the mad world that was Mrs. Lore, and she should feel the weight lift from her shoulders.
Eleanor (Ellie) MayAfter catching the last comment that Eli made, Ellie put her hands on her hips. "I'll make sure that dollar goes to my fund's jar to start my own Cafe," she laughed as she watched him take a seat. It was always fun to talk to all the residents here in the Complex, it was one of the many reasons why she keeps working.
The sound of the door opening caught her attention and turned to the open door. "Welcome-" she stopped herself once she noticed the familiar sight of Lexi, "Lexi? I thought you went to work?"
"I did, but I quit," she announced boldly as she walked up to the barista bar, "Come here, I want to give you a hug."
Ellie did just that, allowing Lexi to hug her. Ellie laughed as she asked, "Why the sudden need of a hug?"
"Because you opened my eyes to what a miserable life I had working as a PA. Now I'm going to work on fashion, no more office jobs for me," she announced.
"Good!" Ellie cheered, "How about a nice hot chocolate to celebrate!"
"Make that a Mocha Latte, Ellie. You are a god when it comes to your Lattes," Lexi laughed.
"Mocha Lattes then!" Ellie smiled returning behind the bar. She makes a cup of Mocha Latte just for her, as she made a cat design on it, for her. When Lexi when to pay, Elli waved her hands, stopping her, "We are celebrating, it's on me."
"Thank you, Ellie. You are and angel," Lexi whispered as she placed a five in the tip jar instead. Ellie nodded as she watched Lexi take a seat at her own table, taking in her drink.
