Taka's fire used to be orange, but the more in touch with his nogitsune side he got, the darker it became. It's a form of corruption.

There are plenty of well acknowledged curmudgeons and elitists on both sides. For instance there are Trolls and other such creatures that would still have human flesh on the menu, and there are humans that believe all magic comes from the Devil, and there are other various sentiments of animosity.
Still, there are those working to foster peace and knowledge between the magical and non-magical communities.
