Realistic or Modern summer bummer — an interest check.

kitty kat.

don’t be a bummer, babe
— about me —

hi there, i’m kat, twenty years old, est, more active in the evening because i have work in the morning/afternoon, and big fan of romance (sorry, but it’s a must for me!) especially when it’s accompanied by a heaping side of angst & yearning. also a big fan of exploring darker themes, usually revolving around murder mysteries/crime thriller stuff! heavily prefer m/f, open to playing either (though i have more experience with females, but i’m more than willing to expand).

— the boring stuff —

only interested in role playing with 18+ individuals for my own comfort! also, i’d rather not partner with men—nothing personal against you, again, it’s just a comfort thing. i don’t have discord, so role plays will be in pm’s or in the forums (unless you have another idea—i know some people do them on google docs, which i’d be open to!). big fan of ooc chat, if that’s not your thing, i’m afraid we wouldn’t be a match! i love getting brain rot over our characters, making playlists, pinterest boards, headcanons, etc.— i wanna make up our own little fandom and need someone to match that energy!

— the fun stuff —

**like real people do —
muse a is all too accustomed to death; being a mortician, it’s part of the job description, and they’ve seen all matter of gruesome things to the point that they’re no longer fazed by the bodies that come in to the morgue. that is, until it’s muse b on the slab, someone they knew in high school and hadn’t seen in years. to make matters worse, turns out muse b isn’t fully gone—they’re a ghost, stuck between living and dead because of some unfinished business, and muse a is the only one who can see them, & their only hope at passing on to the other side.
— i see them knowing each other in high-school but not necessarily being close—maybe muse a had a faraway crush on muse b (or the other way around)—so they’re both (understandably) confused as to why muse a is the only one who can see muse b.
— obviously, this plot is ripe for angst, but there’s two possible routes i see: one, muse b got murdered, and the “unfinished business” is the fact that their killer is still out there. now, they both have to play detective in order to make sure muse b gets justice, especially because the police aren’t doing anything about it (maybe it was ruled an accident, the wrong person got arrested, there’s absolutely no leads/evidence, etc.) two, muse b died accidentally (still a very tragic and traumatic death), and were left with several regrets & things they never got to do in their short life, and muse a is tasked with helping them cross these off their list.
— i imagine muse a as male and muse b as female, and although i have a preference for playing females, i wouldn’t mind playing muse a!

that’s the only (sort of) developed idea i have right now, but i also have a few vague concepts/lesser developed ideas:

mystery of love—inspired by call me by your name, only without the illegal creepiness. a romantic summer affair between two people—muse a, who is younger and bright-eyed, and muse b, who is older and more jaded. still an age-gap (only both members are 21+) and their relationship is definitely considered taboo—perhaps muse b is a professor/someone held in high esteem by the community whose reputation definitely wouldn’t be helped by this fling, or perhaps they work with muse a’s parents, whatever it is, they shouldn’t be together, but that makes it all the more sweeter. very angsty—maybe muse b has a family back home that muse a doesn’t know about—and set in a different era, just to add that bit of spice. (honestly, this is also heavily inspired by a pin i saw of a screenshot left on a picture of adrien brody with the comment, “he gives 1920s poet who would love you in the summertime but no doubt has a family back home”… those are the vibes!!)

until i found you—inspired by the notebook & atonement; two people from vastly different social + economic backgrounds falling in love in the early twentieth century, before ultimately being torn apart by war, only to be reunited years later as they never gave up on their love for one another. very angsty but with a happy ending. the way i see it, it’s starting as a summer romance and spanning across years. give me the pining, the forbidden love, outside influences forcing them apart, falsely believing the other doesn’t love them, trying desperately to move on but not being able to, finding their way back to each other after years of heartbreak and longing.

brooklyn baby—inspired by the godfather (although let’s be real, it’s mostly michael corleone). this one isn’t developed in the slightest, just… mafia/crime lord falling in love with someone he absolutely shouldn’t, leading to both of their downfalls. perhaps she’s from the other side of the tracks, perhaps she’s the daughter of a rival family, perhaps she’s far too innocent to be tainted by the world he’s in (or so he thinks)…

if you’re interested, please shoot me a message with a little bit about you & what idea you’re interested in! i look forward to hearing from you c:
