This rp would be very similar to the universe inside Drowned Cities by Paolo Bacigalupi, but I'm reluctant to put it under fandom, since it's different in a few aspects.
In the future, sea levels have risen to the point where entire cities have been submerged, and the land has shrunken drastically, ragtag gangs fight for control over the city in which the rp takes place. The city is semi submerged, with the height of the water varying from area to area. The waterline can be anywhere between two and six stories, depending on the section of the city. Boats and swimming are the main modes of transportation, but the latter, while the most common, can be quite distasteful and far from sanitary, due to the condition of the water.
Currently, the city is mainly dominated by Legion 3.5, a large, sprawling organization. But, Legion 3.5 is being challenged by a much smaller group, who call themselves Allen's Sharks. The Sharks are highly organized, extremely capable individuals with equipment above that of Legion 3.5.
Weaponry and equipment used by both sides would include spearguns, underwater firearms, mines, and various explosives and firearms above water. All members of Allen's Sharks and the more important members of Legion 3.5 wear goggles with properties that allow them to see clearly underwater, despite lack of light and murkiness. Also, a device that essentially allows the user to breathe underwater exists, but its use is strictly regulated by the higher-ups of each organization.
Your character would either be a member of Legion 3.5, Allen's Sharks, or somebody without an affiliation who is simply trying to survive, by most likely being a thief and/or scavenger. The rp would be casual, with a minimum post length of about a paragraph. I've done a terrible job explaining, but would anyone be interested?
