With striking cobra technique you add your martial arts as automatic successes to your join battle action roll. would this stack with the awareness excellency? also would this allow you to step past the limitations on dice pools and such? this has recently come up and I was unable to discern the answer. as each charm would be limited by a different pool, I do not see why they could not both add. however, it seems a bit beyond the intent of the rules. any thoughts? thanks much!

The limitation on increasing dice to the Join Battle roll via charms remains (Wits + Awareness), regardless of the source. Automatic successes do not count against this pool. (Core, p. 185, inset box)
Therefore, as it is written, Striking Cobra Technique and the Second Awareness Excellency do not affect the dice pool cap at all; one can combo either or both charms with the First Awareness Excellency with evil results. 8)

You are mistaken. The 2nd Excellency always counts against one's dice cap.

It does; however, this is not a general rule, but rather an exception specific to the 2nd Excellency. In general, there is no limit on adding successes to any roll.cdi said:
