KIRBY'S NEW ADVENTURE
PROLOGUE
Meet Kirby.
Kirby lives in a peaceful place called Dreamland.
In his free time, he prefers sleeping, fishing, chasing butterflies and also sleeping.
One day, however, he decided he'd go stargazing for a bit. As it so happened, he was able to see quite something that night: A shooting star! It was beautiful, really, a bright object soaring through the sky with a faint trail behind it. Kirby watched it, amazed that such a thing existed! Did someone else have a ship like his Warp Star? The thought intrigued him.
Then, it turned, and it wasn't moving across the sky anymore. Instead, it was growing larger, on a clear path directly toward Kirby!
When he finally realized what was going on, he dove to the side, just in time for the star to hit the ground where he was previously sitting, its forward momentum carrying it toward his dome-shaped house, leaving a deep trench in the earth and stopping only when it struck the wall, which collapsed over it, obscuring its bright glow.
When Kirby drew closer, half angry that his home was wrecked but still half curious as to what it was, the rubble exploded outward, and the star, still shining brightly, rose from the ground. It wasn't a star. Instead, it was a large crystal, bright blue in color, about the same size as Kirby. Only when the shine dulled down to a low orange aura could it be seen clearly. It spun slowly in the air for some time, offering no apologies for its vandalism.
Soon enough, however, three Waddle Dees came over a nearby hill, the one in front wearing a blue bandana and hefting a spear twice its height. They must have seen the commotion, and had come to investigate. When they came close, however, the Crystal spun faster, glowing bright before out came two smaller jewels, flying toward the two unarmed Waddle Dees and striking them across their foreheads!
When they recovered, their eyes were half-closed, and the gems were embedded between them. They turned on their leader, trying to hit him and take his spear! He had none of it, whacking one away while Kirby sucked in the other and flung him in the other direction as a star-shaped projectile. The two turned to the crystal that had tried to attack them indirectly, ready to strike
back, but it flew away before they could, moving with an unusual speed that surely no simple stone should be able to.
Kirby looked to his bandanna-wearing friend, and gave a conclusive nod. Breaking his wall was one thing, but manipulating his friends was another! The spear-wielding Waddle-Dee saluted him with a stubby arm before running over to the ruined wall of the nearby house, moving stones back into place one-by-one. Alone, Kirby ran after the flying crystal, sprinting into the night...
LEVEL 1: CONTROLLED
A dirt path runs through lush greenland before you. A Waddle Dee is running along it toward Kirby, arms thrown up in panic. At the top of a hill behind it, two others are scaling a pile of star-marked blocks, being controlled by gems in their foreheads like the ones before. Oddly enough, they don't really seem to be in much of a rush, casually strolling down the path with tired eyes.
TURNS & QUEING: During your turn, you're tasked with positioning yourself to defeat enemies and dodge attacks. You can also que up movements and actions, which Kirby will perform halfway through the Enemy's next turn.
