Hello there and welcome! Thank you for stopping by my humble little thread! It's been a hot minute since I've had the chance to sit down and write a proper RP here, so I may be a little bit all over the place during this! I go by Sugar Rush on here, but I'm not particular about what you refer to me as! I'm a 23 year old nb and currently work 2nd shift doing inventory at a dispensary. I've been Rping on and off for close to 12 years now, originally on Gaia Online. (Yeesh! That takes me back lol) If you wanna get in contact or have any questions, just shoot me a DM!- Alright, let's get into some of the fun details! Here's some stuff that you can expect and hopefully I can expect in return!
Just be mature. 18+ preferred as I would like to cover some fairly dark or complex ideas/topics. Not going to require it, but again, this is just a preference and a heads up for what's to come!I can generally reply a couple of times a week. This may change, but that would probably be the most accurate idea of my frequency for now. I'm also super flexible if you need more time between replies, as well! I know we all have our own lives and schedules outside of this fun little hobby, so I'm in no rush~I tend to write 400+ words per reply. This isn't some hard minimum, but enough to give a good amount of action and detail. Just be able to write with a decent amount of effort and detail to keep things moving! This one is a bit tricky since it is constantly changing and updating. I tend to stick to Sci-fi, high fantasy, and modern fantasy, though I'm open to try just about anything! However, romance is always a big plus in my book, but don't want it to be the main focus of the story. The pairings I tend to work best with are FxF and MxF. Just a simple preference, so there is always some wiggle room! Finally, OOC and plotting/world-building is definitely a must! I wanna be friends, or at least on good terms, with people I'll be writing with. It helps us both really get invested in the world and our characters if we really put in the effort and get a better read off each other!
Alright, here are a few basic ideas and pairings that I'd be interested in working on. (Will update as cravings change) Not an extensive one, so you're more than welcome to ask about any idea/pairing you might be craving! Anything that might have a decent bit of thought behind it will be in its own separate tab! (Don't want things getting too cluttered with walls of text)
Mercenary x Employer
Shunned/outcast Mage x Royalty
Childhood rivals
Assassin x target
Gang member x Detective
Arms Dealer x Bodyguard
Childhood bestfriends reunite
(Inspiration taken from Blade Runner, Ghost in the Shell, etc.)
By the late 21st century and into the 22nd, humanity as a whole, began to blur the lines between flesh and steel. It became far more common to see everyday citizens with some sort of prosthetics to enhance their lives pass the 'limits of humanity' on daily basis than someone that was completely pure in mind and body. Some people desired completely new bodies, only keeping vital organs before becoming an 'artificial human'. Society is split on how far is too far, but there are very few regulations in any country to impose a sort of challenge to this increasingly concerning topic.
At the same time, the internet became so invaluable to this new social norm, that one of the first true popular modifications was the 'neural net'. Having constant access to every single ounce of information and could communicate with nearly anyone with just a few simple thoughts was absolutely groundbreaking. Now, no one was truly ever alone as they could simply escape into cyberspace within a second.
Still, things that plagued the old world only became more prevalent now that the world was infinitely more connected. Radicalism, terrorism, war, famine. The harsh reality was that despite all of these advancements, humanity couldn't stop staying mad at each other. Something capable of taking down entire countries in this interconnected age was brewing deep in the underbelly of the net. A string of seemingly unrelated crimes started happening across multiple countries. A national bank was hacked. A double murder-suicide. Blackmail of political figures. Arson.
No one knew who was behind these crimes as nearly every single one was done without leaving a shred of useful evidence. That was until a cryptic and short live stream hijacked major news networks. A group claimed responsibility for these specific crimes before taunting anyone to try and stop their grand vision while encouraging others to run free of their shackles. As the stream ended and the news returned, the public was shocked and confused about what just happened. Questions and fears began to spread like wildfire, both in person and across the neural net. Other criminals were inspired by such action, becoming bolder and bolder by the day.
The result eventually became law enforcement becoming stretched too thin to do much of anything. Seeking an alternative solution to the most serious of crimes, multiple countries and major businesses banded together to create an independent agency. Agents were handpicked from just about anywhere, not discriminating in the slightest, as long as they could be seen as useful. They would be sent out to investigate crimes deemed too 'sensitive' or dangerous for law enforcement, hoping to keep the public ignorant and hopefully learn more about the original cyberterrorist group.
(Both characters would be members of this agency, working as a pair while investigating different crimes and such! Lots of room to play around with and explore to our heart's content!)- It was well over a millennium since the discovery of the first tower. An incredibly large, imposing that seemed to stretch into the infinity above. The design was unlike anything anyone had ever seen, not showing any major similarities in architecture or even materials used. However, it became quickly evident that the dangers that lurked inside seemed to be massively outweighed by the potential fortunes waiting on the inside. The earliest of expeditions, despite returning with heavy losses and some terrifying stories, also brought back rare and valuable materials and relics along with the appearance of something that would change the world: Cores.
Countless wars would be fought for them. Civilizations would rise and fall for them. Atrocities and triumphs of almost every angle and scope since the original appearance of cores would play a major party in society moving forward. Luckily, as nations expanded further and further, smaller towers were discovered and tensions soon eased, yet always remained prevalent. You could never have too much of a good thing, right? Unimaginable wonders and mysteries along with innumerable valuables lay waiting further and further up, so anyone, no matter their reasoning behind it, could tackle the tower to change their fate and make their fortune.
(WIP and very flexible in expanding on. More of a foundation to take in any direction)
