Graded [Stonewall Town] Is This.. a Date?

Hello! This is an rp based in the world of Isekai Hell! Feel free to reach out! :blowkiss:

This Rp will focus on the dynamics between the newly appointed Marshal Aria RavenSong RavenSong and the promising council member Amanda Uasal Uasal

Stonewall

In Stonewall, things were like any other day, the town had begun their tasks early in the morning. Peoples businesses opened, the guards had made their shifts and began patrols.
The new Baroness had truly begun to make some progress. At least, that’s what Aria thought as she sat in her quarters on a wooden chair with her feet up on the small office table.

Konpaku.Youmu.600.2125213-3.jpg

She was daydreaming and also thinking very solemnly on her fathers words. Statements and remarks of what she truly was destined to be. The ultimate weapon. His words echoed in her mind. The confident glint in his eyes that never wavered was frustrating. He revealed strength when she revealed passion. Pessimism against courage. They were indeed, truly different. But perhaps they were more alike than she thought.

Silently she planned another trip to Yemaya. Sighing as she recalled her fathers challenge. “If you defeat her, I’ll accept you as you are, and that will be the end of it.His voice echoing.

The portal just had to be found, it made her anxious to think this other Aria was equally if not stronger than her. An urge to train would swell in her stomach as she closed her eyes for calm.

She had to face this other ego. This shadow in the mirror. A “darker self” as her brother Leo put it. The water in the kettle had then began to whistle as the sun slowly peeked through the window and began to kiss the delicate skin on her cheek.

Her bed was made, it was hard to say if she even slept in it that night. She felt very much alive, the warrior in her was ecstatic to finally meet a worthy opponent. Even if she wouldn’t allow herself to revel and indulge in such a feeling. It’s what she felt as her destiny, to overcome any other warrior and finally bring this world to a golden age!

Aria shook her head a bit as she got up and made herself a cup of a tea. Opening the cupboard and pulling the herbs out of a small glass container. Her mithril feet would interpret the temperature as a feeling in her body. She shivered a bit as the cold of the wooden boards gave her the chills up her spine making her perk up a bit. Taking the cup in her hand, Aria took a few sips, picked up her sword and walked out of her room.

Once out in the courtyard, her men saluted. “Marshal. Sir.”
“At ease, cadet.” She replied, “Come along.” The guardsman began to walk along side her.
“Anything to report?” She said stirring her cup before taking a bigger sip, occasionally eyeing the guard.
“No sir, nothing but the occasional property land mark disputes which the local judge has been keeping all parties happy. That and the issuing of town council. It seems the people here want to be more directly involved in their local policies.”

“As it should be..” Aria nodded, “..we are here to serve and it’s our duty to give everyone a voice.” She smiled a bit before taking another sip. “Right. I need you to send this letter to council Amanda.” She held out a small scroll with a red seal. The guardsman hesitated. “I’d be happy to Marshal, but council Amanda arrived sometime this morning. She’s returned from a festivity.” Arias eyebrows rose a bit. “Festivity? Hm. Very well..” the marshal said as she took the scroll back. “..I’ll deliver it myself.”

“Yes, sir! I believe she’s inspecting the walls today.”

“Appreciated.”

The cadet nodded.

Aria then made her way to the walls, some greeted others gave her strange looks and the occasional displeased gesture. It was good that these people were organizing. How do you run a city without knowing it’s people. She appreciated their efforts, and was also glad they had their own ideas.

After being saluted once more by a pair of guards escorting Amanda, Aria approached their council woman.

“Marshal.” The guards muttered, saluting.

Aria nodded and rose her hand, “I appreciate your service. Take an early break.”

"Yes sir, thank you sir.” they said in unison as their chain mail and plate armor rattled back to the barracks.

“Lady Amanda, it’s quite nice to see you.” She bowed her head a bit but quickly noticed she was a bit distracted by something other than the walls, “I assume everything went well? I got word of your recent assignment.” She continued as she rested her gaze on her. She was, actually genuinely glad she was there. She couldn’t really explain why, but, there was something rather pleasant about Amanda’s presence.

Today was one of the rare occasions in which Amanda could be found wearing something other than her ordinary style of clothing. The reason? Well it was quite boring, her standard outfit had been reworked into a dress for the party she had attended and while she awaited a replacement to be sent from Kirkwall, she had no other choice but to resort to casual attire recommended to her by Baroness Caelia's mother. After all, it was she who fashioned the dress in the first place, and truth be told, Amanda had a strange feeling the woman quite enjoyed dressing her up. Not that Amanda particularly minded such things, afterall she had no interest in fashion to begin with so having a helping hand was quite welcome. Regula's mother had saved her when it came to preparations for the ball, the least Amanda could do was model for her in return.

That being said Amanda wasn't all to confident in the choice of attire, it left little to the imagination when it came to her bust. Something Amanda preferred to hide. Alas, it wasn't scandalous by any means so in the end she wore it out having been assured it was the fashion of young nobles in the capital many a time.

Standing by the wall Amanda was inspecting the finished structure with critical and curious eyes. She had left shortly after construction had begun and though she trusted the guards to have built it according to her plans, the events of the 'Party of Greed' had left her very critical of her own work. In fact, she had half a mind to tear it all down and start from scratch. But that just wouldn't do. The project was already finished and had cost quite a lot. Magic, Arcana. To have disregarded them in her planning, how idiotic. This was not Earth, not her home, her own closed-mindedness and refusal to study magic was inexcusable. Could she have saved money on the project, could it withstand a magical attack? Amanda didn't know. And that. That really infuriated her.

Fortunately, her downward spiral of self-deprecation and doubt was interrupted before it could really get out of hand. Turning to face Aria with a solemn smile Amanda watched as the guards surrounding the two left them in privacy. It had been so long since Amanda had seen Aria. Ever since the incident at the mine to be precise. Gazing softly at the woman Amanda couldn't help but blush a subtle red at the thought. Aria had saved her from what could have been a terrible fate that day and Amanda had yet to properly thank her for it. It was that thought that ruined the moment and almost wiped the smile off Amanda's face. Another failure. Amanda had gotten herself into trouble, just like at the party she dashed in head first, thinking only of her objective and not about her own safety. She cause Aria trouble and had even failed to thank her properly. Why was she even a council member to begin with? How pathetic.

Turning to look at the wall, too embarrassed to face Aria with such thoughts going through her head, Amanda answered her question in a quiet tone, a hint of sadness layered and hidden within "Oh, the party. I apologize but I'd really rather not discuss the party right now. It did not go well. Though I doubt it will have any major effect on the Barony, I embarrassed myself in front of our Count. Baroness Caelia will likely scold me for tarnishing her name... Heh... looks like I'm talking about it after all. Apologies, I don't mean to whine. It's rather unbecoming isn't it."

Aria

Aria tilted her head, for being a bit rigid in her ways she felt a degree of empathy, “I.. I’m sorry you went through that.” Aria replied, getting a bit closer albeit solemn. “If it’s of any comfort, rest your mind on the fact that soon or later.. we will all be faced with failures.”

She looked down a bit, sharing in Amanda’s thoughts. “Gods know I’ve been through my fair share of failures. Setting out of my village with all the hope in the world. Then defeat, after defeat and then.. crippling defeat.”
She felt her metallic toes in her boots, then back up at the troubled council woman.

“Although I cant speak for the baroness, I can’t say whether she’d be upset or not. I suppose it depends.”
She paused for a moment. Looking at the repairs and then back at Amanda.

“Will it help you talking about it?” She asked, searching for her melancholy eyes as her eyes strayed and betrayed her sadness. “I may not be the baroness to pardon your defeat, but I’d like to think I’m a good listener.” She gave an assuring chuckle, before putting her elbow out. “Come, perhaps we can talk about it as we walk.”

The marshal felt her appointment wasn't only for the physical protection of Caelia's barony and citizens, but also for the morale of its leadership. It was all a very important piece to success. However, Amanda wasn't simply a duty, Aria had been feeling a strange feeling around this woman for a time. She wanted to get to the bottom of it, it was pleasant, perhaps, too pleasant for comfort. She wondered deep in her subconscious just what it could all mean or lead to.
--

The town, was slowly waking up, you could smell the fresh bread baking, the various aromas of herbs and the scent of the flowers on porches and windows as the dew evaporated from their petals. The mixed cobbled and dirt roads that connected the various districts had now spurred to life like some sort of mechanical structure. Children could be seen walking, laughing accompanied by their guardians in hand or close by.

Amanda wasn't expecting Aria to comfort her with so many words of kindness and understanding. She wasn't expecting it but, she welcomed it with open arms. Amanda wasn't the type to speak on her failures nor the type to appreciate words such as those offered. Amanda was much more the type to bottle said feelings up, sulk, and then suffer in silence until such a time as her inspiration returned. Yet, for some reason, Aria's words had touched her. How strange. Perhaps it has something to do with her position or the fact she had previously saved Amanda. Perhaps it was just a skill the woman possessed. Whatever it was, Amanda was glad, and already feeling much more relieved.

Turning to look at Aria, Amdna's smile was much more genuine than before, signs of regret and sadness still lingered underneath but it was clear Aria's words had cheered her up quite a lot. "You truly are one of the kindest people I have ever had the privilege to meet Marshal. Please, allow me to accompany you then."

Hooking her arm around Aria's, Amanda was more than happy to walk alongside the woman and follow her lead. With the two making their way toward the town centre Amanda couldn't help but notice she was quite a bit taller than the marshal. Which was something she found quite amusing given how physically weak she was in comparison. A thought that had made her smile even brighter than before and much more like her natural self. But why did she end up only noticing the height difference now? Well, it was simple really, Amanda had been making sure to match Aria's stride.

Following along the path Amanda normally would have commented on how the half-dirt and half-cobbled road would need repairing and likely remodeling. But she didn't Instead she commented on something completely different but something she was far more interested in "Aria. I hope you don't mind me saying this but. Well, your eyes are truly quite beautiful..." Having been stealing glances at the woman ever since she had noticed the height difference Amanda had gotten lost in her other features as well. Mostly her eyes, which prompted the comment.

That said, it didn't take Amanda all that long to realize what it was she had said and how exactly it could be interoperated. A realization that very quickly turned her pale complexion scarlet red. "I, Wait! I just mean to say you have really pretty eyes. They shine when you get excited and they glisten when you focus on something and the color is like really nice and I... I'm going to be quiet now. My apologies" With steam practically rising from her head Amanda had decided it best to change the subject as quickly as possible to avoid complete embarrassment from overwhelming her. Looking around frantically she noticed a couple of children playing a game in the street. Pointing to them she said the first thing that came to her mind "Would you like to have kids someday?". Like glass breaking into a million shards, Amanda's mind likewise shattered internally. WHAT KIND OF DEESCALATION IS THAT? What made things exponentially more embarrassing was the fact Amanda couldn't even run or hide her face all that well, what with her arm being hooked around Aria's. Not that any amount of hiding could mask how blatantly red her face had become.

Aria looked over at Amanda as she took her arm. She hummed a bit before starting off, this woman’s touch was oddly electrifying, or was it something that she was simply making up in her mind?

She bowed her head at Amanda’s generous comment, “I’d like to think so, some could say otherwise. However, I’m very glad you find me pleasant.” She smiled.

Regardless, Arias confident, leader like stride wouldn't falter in the least. She walked feeling the street through her shoes, keeping her arm well high enough for Amanda.

She was about to speak about the matters that troubled the council, but she got to it first. Aria turned to look at Amanda as she spoke. “M-my eyes?” She stuttered, and blushed. “I.. well..” she cleared her throat and fought back a strange feeling welling in her gut. “..forgive me, thank you for your compliment.” She said finally, her eye lashes fluttered a bit and her breath got a little shallow. What was this feeling?

Then she continued, much to Arias continued blushing. “I- I understand.. I.. “ she looked away trying to hide her face. “..I’m.. delighted by your compliments Miss Amanda.” She said forcing herself to focus through all the strangeness happening within her.

Things would slowly cool down, but then, once again Amanda made another rather trying question.

“I haven’t thought about it.” She’d manage. “I suppose if I ever give myself to someone that deeply.” Her mind was racing for words. “I mean- well.. yes I do. I just..” she brought a hand up to her face. “..I need to make this world a better place first.” She looked at Amanda and smiled softly. “I think we could do it.” She’d nite her tongue, “I mean, like.. make this world better.” She sighed under her breath.

“So.. what has you feeling so low?” She asked, figuring it would be best to not get too caught up in their blunders. However, she was beginning to see Amanda with a different lens.

Amanda's blush met it's climax when Aria responded that she did indeed want children someday and blundered her words thereafter insinuating she'd be happy to parent some children alongside Amanda. Granted the blunder was quickly amended but for a brief moment Amanda felt her heart stop. Looking to the children once again Amanda couldn't help but laugh softly, the whole situation was quite humourous after all. They had both embarrassed themselves in much the same way. This was fun. Being with Aria was fun. "Thank you. I'm not too sure about whether I could make a change to this world as a whole but... I like to think my actions someday might make a positive change for Ryke at the very least."

Tilting her head back and smiling cheekily Amanda's eyes glanced to Aria and the woman chuckled "But you, Aria. From the bottom of my heart, I know you will go on to do great and amazing things. Of that, I have no doubt. You're my hero after all"

With the topic changing back to the party Amanda couldn't help but sigh, truth be told she'd rather avoid the topic. She had whined enough and Aria had already cheered her up. So expertly avoiding the question Amanda tugged on Aria's arm. Though with G grade strength it was likely akin to a child tugging at their parent more so than anything substantial. None the less Amanda made an attempt to turn Aria toward the Tavern "Hmm, I'm probably just hungry. Would you like to get something to eat? I hear the Tavern has a new Item on its menu"

Aria looked at Amanda for a bit, “Please forgive me, I..” she stuttered, “..I don’t mean to sound so righteous. It’s just that.. well, I’ve seen so much injustice.” She looked away a bit, but then returned to face Amanda. “Hmm. You.. place a lot of faith in me.” She affirmed with a silent hopeful glint in her eyes. “It gives me strength to know people believe in me. It makes me.. feel..” She hesitated, “..not alone.”

Emotions were difficult to describe, yet, the more she tried the easier it got. Perhaps it was the nature of this.. spell she felt she was under.

Clearly, she was having a hard time navigating the conversation, or changing the topic. She wanted to ask the woman at her side questions. But how does one do that feeling so gross in their stomach?

Thankfully, the council suggested something else. “The.. tavern?” The repeated. “As in.. right this moment?” She asked before quickly recuperating, “Why, I’d be delighted to my lady.” She’d then change course towards the tavern.

Once at the tavern they were greeted by the keeper. Who would then lead them to a table. It was rather busy, so the barmaid and her daughter wouldn’t speak other than take orders. Once they were seated, the barmaid arrived, a bit anxious from so many customers.

“Good morning Marshal..” she’d turn to Amanda. “..my lady.” Bowing her head slightly. “What will it be this morning?”

With the duo now seated and comfortably at that Amanda could relax a little more. This was after all where she had been living for the past month, it was like her home. And like that, it was a place she could let her guard down without having to worry all that much about noble etiquette and the like. After all, she was a commoner herself, just with a fancy title. Looking at the barmaid, Amanda offered her a gentle smile and chuckled "Could I get some milk and perhaps a bowl of porridge, please? That would be lovely."

Having respectfully waited for Aria to make an order of her own Amanda returned to the conversation at hand, her eyes locked upon Aria's own. A gentle and curious gaze that left no room for doubt, Amanda was fully focused on the beautiful woman before her. "Alone huh. I can kind of get that. This is my first time away from Kirkwall. Well, in terms of living. It was quite lonely at first but, well. With every day that passes, I meet someone new. A farmer, a guard, a passerby. I dare say I've met everyone in Stonewall at this point. It's... starting to feel a lot more like home now..."

Smiling sweetly and earnestly Amanda added, "Especially when you're around. I don't really know why, but it truly makes a big difference".

Taking her food from the returning barmaid Amanda prepared her spoon and began to stir some milk into it so as to cool it. "I'd hate for you to ever feel alone. So please, if you ever do. Come and find me immediately. No matter what it is I have going on, I'll be sure to make time for you... or more accurately... I'd personally like to make time for you and so I will."

After Amanda made her order, Aria rested her arms on the table, then rested her elbow on the flat surface before resting her chin on her palm. Why was she so, anxious? Restless? This was weird. She then looked up at the waitress, "Just a cup of tea for me. Black tea and a sugar cube. I'm not so hungry this morning."

"Okay, very well.." The barmaid said as she scribbled something on a small parchment. "..Right. Be right back with your orders m'ladies." She curtsied and went back into the kitchen area.

The room was bustling, this was a popular meeting spot for the locals who either met up at the tavern for a bite before heading out or held their meetings here. The place had seen some improvements, likely due to the income.

Her gaze then turned to Amanda, who seemed to never take her eyes off of her. Aria smiled softly. "I see." She nodded some, "I haven't set my eyes on home since i set out to defend my village against the corrupted forest on the borders of Highgrove." She couldn't hold Amanda's gaze and looked off a bit sort of seeming as if dreaming as she recollected her memories, "I've been in palaces, great cities, and long painful travels ever since. Mostly in service of the Baroness. She has really.. come quite the long way to be where she is now." She smiled a bit brighter now, "It's quite wonderful that you took to this place as much as you have. Me. I don't think anyone has felt like home. Well, maybe Rosalia's place in Ryke." She admitted, "Perhaps someday, we could go to your home. I'd very much like to see where our most valuable advisor's origins." She chuckled lightly. "If its okay with you of course."

She then hesitated at the comment about the marshal being pleasant company, "I-i don't know what to say to that other than.. i appreciate your company as well. It's.. well.. very pleasant." Looking at Amanda, she leaned back in her chair, crossing her legs and arms one atop the other, "I hope the owner and her daughter hire some help. This is quite the busy place now."

SZzZrMa copy.jpg
Just then the barmaid arrived, placing a bowl with hot cereal and a cup a milk. Then a cup of hot water on a plate and a tea infuser in it. The black tea in it seeping into the steaming water. "My ladies, your orders. I'll be around, let me know if you need anything else." She dismissed herself once again and returned to the other tables, taking orders, and doing her morning duties.

"Thank you very much." Aria, stirred her cup, effectively infusing it, and taking a small sip. "Hmm." She hummed a bit. "Well, if you so mention it. Perhaps you'd like to join me around sunset for a walk?" Aria then took another sit before putting her cup down on the small plate. "Once of the guards under my command is quite passionate about trails in the hills out here. Him and a few others made a trail to the training grounds a bit outside of town. However, i'm not requesting you train, there is quite the wonderful bench there and well.." She blushed a bit, thinking what she was saying was absolutely cringe. "..it would just mean a lot if you came." Truly, Aria hated being in vulnerable positions, it was not her nature to do so. She felt like her heart was open and it made her a bit uncomfortable. "I-i understand if you have things to do. Especially after a difficult business trip."

Amanda listened happily to what Aria had to say about her past though couldn't help but feel saddened when Aria revealed she had never felt at home during her travels. There was of course mention of Rosalia and Regula's home in Ryke but with how it was brought up Amanda had a feeling there was more than meets the eye to such a claim. Tilting her head aside Amanda brushed a bang behind her ear and then smiled sweetly. "Aria, it may not be much. But my door is always open to you. Be it my room here at the inn or anywhere else i reside in the future. I will always endeavor to have a bed ready for you and a meal set aside. I know having a place to stay and a home are two very different things but... maybe in time... you might find yourself at home in my company."

Shifting gears quickly, before Amanda self-imploded from embarrassment "As for my family and homeplace in Kirkwall, well I'm sure they'd be more than happy to meet you." Laughing softly Amanda recalled her recent trip home "Actually, my father was very interested in hearing more about you. I don't know why but out of everyone I spoke of he seemed to keep asking me more and more about you. And the guard captain actually... Something about a Steelhaven never giving up ground. I still don't really get it but he seemed fired up haha! He told me to bring you around for dinner sometime."

Laughing softly Amanda slid her bowl to the side and sighed with satisfaction. This was nice. Her attitude and spirits were soaring high now, a huge difference from just a short while ago.

"Actually, I hear they hired a new chef. His food is supposed to be quite the treat. Strange but quite the treat, whatever that means. Looks like the Barony is slowly growing. As an advisor, I'm happy to see it. But there's still so much to do..."

Just as Amanda's thoughts began to slip back toward her workload Aria ripped her attention back with the offer of a walk "A walk? No! I mean... YES! I mean no I'm not too busy to forfeit a walk! Yes, I'd love to join you! I'll get all my affairs in order and meet you at the northern gate around sunset! It's a d..d...Date!"

A4EB4596-CF5C-4916-B6A8-1B103B6442FE.jpeg

Aria took yet another sip, the tea was just right about now. Her orbs then once again went back to Amanda, her expression had a heartfelt hint about it. She was visibly touched by Amandas words, she was so kind, and sweet, and gentle. The stern marshal was beginning to show signs of reciprocation, was this woman serious about what she was saying? "I.. i don't know what to say.." Aria looked away a bit bashful, "..you're very kind to make such an offering. However, perhaps i'll warm up to this place in due time, it wouldn't look good on me to start sleeping in the advisors room now would it?" She chuckled a bit, but one could tell she wasn't trying to laugh as loud as she actually felt like.

"Y-your father? How does he know about me?" She asked, leaning forward with a surprised smile, and visibly blushing although more in an excited kind of way. "Gods.." She gasped as she sat back and crossed her arms, "..news really does circle around here quite fast doesn't it?" She said out loud whilst looking away a bit then looking back at Amanda, nodding with amusement, "Of course, i would love to meet your father." She entwined her hands together, "What is he like?" She leaned forward resting her head on her entwined hands. "Are you more like him or like your mother? I'm sure she's lovely."

When Amanda stuttered about the walk, it made her anxious as well. She hoped it wasn't too much trouble, she got a little frantic but, it was oddly. Funny. Amusing. Perhaps even a little cute. No. She was getting ahead of herself.

"I.. i'm.. i mean.. very well, ill.. i-" She huffed as if to try to get her mind cleared, "..very well, i'll be there. I.." She reached to hold her hand, "..look forward to it."

With that, they awkwardly walked out of the tavern, Aria hiding her face and Amanda likely a bit anxious herself. Aria had spent the remainder of the afternoon doing paper work that is if she could even concentrate. The fountain pen in her hand would drain onto the parchment as the marshal seemed to daydream of none other than the advisor. Every attempt to forget about it was met with a more intense a vivid daydream. She'd remember her eyes, the way she glowed, even the way she expressed her sadness when meeting her at the walls.

Evening came, and the sky began to glow orange to which Aria then met at the meeting place: At the north gate.

Aria, sword at her side with the stride of a leader was greeted by the guards as she walked past the various shops and entrances to key governing offices. All saluting and Aria nodding in return. Once at the gate, she stood to wait for her appointment. Part of her wanted to run back home, pretend like she never agreed, but it was too late now. She was nervous, and she had to face her feelings no matter how difficult and quite intimidating it would be. She looked around a bit. No sign of her. Maybe she took a nap. She thought, but the welling feeling in her insides wouldn't give up so easily. A hand would come over her stomach, as she attempted to regulate her breathing. What is the matter with me? She wondered, I am Marshal Aria Barlow, the commander of this baronies most well trained guard, and i've been rendered crippled once already. Now this? What is this?" She wondered without any answer from the gods or anything else. She was alone, and she would face this.

Amanda was quick to finish her inspections on the wall following her encounter with the lovely marshal. Though her mood had been elevated and her determination restored, something about the wall just didn't sit right with her. To call it complete felt extremely wrong for some reason. This wall, it was solid, but could it really stand up to magical or otherwise enhanced attacks? Probably not. The Count had left her with a lot to think about, and that was a good thing. That right! There was no reason to feel down! Everybody makes mistakes! What's most important is to learn from those mistakes and always advance forward.

So with that in mind, Amanda returned to the keep and began brainstorming several various ways she could improve upon the incomplete wall she had created. How could she alter it to make it something truly capable of defending Stonewall and her people? She had been avoiding the subject of magic, but no longer! From this point forward Amanda would begin to broaden her horizons. It was time to stop thinking about the world as though it were the Earth she had come from. This world had so much more to offer. Why not take it.

Looking through what remained of the Keep Library Amanda researched everything there was available on the art of artificing. With it being early morning, Amanda had quite some time to burn before her walk with Aria. And so that's what she did. Research and more research. Aria had given Amanda the push she needed to continue on as her [Ambitious] Self. In other words, Aria had saved her for the second time. "Heh, she truly is an amazing woman. My hero."

Amanda was able to quickly and effectively piece together the information within the books and correlate them with one another.

Amanda did end up arriving a little late, approximately five minutes late. The reason was quite simple and for once had nothing to do with her work. She was nervous. Terribly nervous. As she grew closer and closer to the gate a sickening feeling in her stomach would grow stronger and stronger. It wasn't an unpleasant feeling but... wait... were this feeling... butterflies? "Is this really a date?". Blushing at the thought Amanda took those five minutes to calm herself down before approaching Aria.

Smiling happily and with a wave, Amanda would call out to the woman as she approached "Aria! Sorry I'm late, I got a little... sidetracked. Uh-huh, I'm definitely not nervous ahaha.. ha..haha." Smooth.

Sighing softly Amanda's shoulders sank "Okay... I'm very nervous. I think I have butterflies and... truth be told. I... em... shall we walk?". Balling her fists and gripping her dress tightly, Amanda remembered her father's words from before and suddenly it all made sense to her. She liked Aria! Romantically! Very much so! She had been so standoffish with the Captain of the guard because he was also interested in Aria and that's why her father had been so interested in hearing about the two. Why he had gotten so fired up and why he had said what he had said! It had been so obvious, how had she not noticed!

Shooting up straight, Amanda locked eyes with Aria, and with a serious expression, she spoke ambitiously with her pride on the line [Ambitious] "No. Aria. The truth is, I like you. Not as a friend. I like you romantically. And I want you to like me too! So, I'll ask you now, would you please consider this walk a date"

The Marshal, would stand at the gate for a few moments, she was rather early and well a little impatient. Her anxiety was a bit heightened but her facial features would never betray her inner feelings. Her shoulders were a bit tense however, and she also felt the strange feeling in her stomach.

She was beginning to look around however, the guards occasionally glancing at her but not meeting her gaze as their curious eyes went back to keeping eyes on the paths. Soon the evening shift would arrive and relieve them however. The sun would soon turn orange as the horizon followed its usual beautiful evening hue. And along with it Amanda’s longer shadow upon the ground as she approached the gate.

When Amanda approached, Arias heart sank, the sound of her voice was intoxicating with a unique timbre that only she could express. Aria froze a bit, then turned around perhaps a little too suddenly, “H-hello.” Aria managed through her anxiety, “It’s fine, I just got here myself.” The Marshall wasn’t fond of lying but for some odd reason she was saying things completely out of character. “You’re nervous?” She repeated, her head titling a bit but then quickly blushing. “Yes I know what you mean.” She’d nod before gesturing out towards the gate, “Shall we begin?” She had a rather unwavering sense of formality even with things regarding love interests it seemed.

It was then that Amanda dropped a bombshell of a question, Aria gasped softly, her eyes widened a bit more than usual and for once she didn’t know what to say, she couldn’t even blush. She blinked and time stood still for a moment when the marshal finally managed to reply, “I-I.. well I.. I feel the same way, I can’t help this feeling I can’t explain when I’m around you.” She looked down a bit, and without even thinking, took Amanda’s hand and then tugged her out on the path.

As they walked, the pair would walk through a lightly wooded area, some tree trunks could be seen from the increase of development. However, shortly after small vineyards and small farms could be seen dotting they countryside.

“I’d love to someday just, live much more simply.” She said as an opening topic, a hand would come over her racing heart. “Just dedicated to whom I’d love and those few that matter most to me.”

Aria would turn to look at Amanda, “What does the future look like for you? I’m sure you have plenty of goals if your own, of course. It’s only natural to ask more of life I suppose.”

The two would arrive right on time to Arias favorite bench. A small creek trickled a serene cadence that contrasted the timeless sight before them. Sitting side by side, the two would look into each others eyes for what seemed like ages. And as the sun begged the night for even a second more of its eternal glow, their eyes would equally slowly close as the two would press their lips together in a kiss. Who could have guessed? Whether by fate, attraction or the mysterious ways of luck Amanda and Aria would from then on be a relationship. This was in fact, all along.. a date.

Xoxo!

The End.
