The meaning of life is the fine game of nil
Hi there, I’ve been wanting to do a Steampunk type retro-futuristic war and action roleplay based in WW2. Here’s the idea, basically it’s the 20th century but on steroids.
In this timeline, steam powered walkers were being utilised in WW1 as a method of laying down direct support fire from a fixed high up position into the enemies trenches, and the development of such mech will be continued into 1940s.
Except for the new technologies, the historical events remained the way they went. WW1 ended with a humiliating revolution in Germany, the Treaty of Versailles, the Great Depression, before the well-known Austrian artist came to power in Germany.
With the mech technology came a huge boost for the material science, thus defence budgets also went into development of body armour for troops in some countries.
In the Soviet Union, the 5 year plan under Stalin brought rapid industrialisation of the country, large machinery are starting to being implement into their collective farming, alongside the development of their large, menacing heavy armoured mechas
In the Far East, conflicts between China and Japan is getting out of control for both countries. While Japan had technology far superior to their Chinese counterpart, the sheer vastness of mainland China is proving too much for the Japanese Military to chew on
And of course flying warships would be a thing, it’s a requirement for steampunk settings
Also, woman are allowed frontline combat in this timeline, you can submit female soldiers if you like
