Status Matters (Blondiemon&Firetail606)

It'd be set in a modern time era in the sense of technology, though vehicles still aren't motorized and instead we use horse-drawn carts and the like Telephones also are out of the question, but there is electricity, running water, gas-powered stoves, etc. However, rather than there being separate countries with separate governments, the continents never split and the Earth's singular land mass is called "Taela". There is also one ruling family, rather than many. At this point in time, the King and Queen have a daughter(your character) who has been arranged to marry to neighbouring country's King since she was born. However, the neighbouring King is roughly 20 years the Princesses elder, so it's an idea she's never been to keen on.


I figure that the Princess could have a fairly 'wild' streak to her, and on most nights she sneaks out to the Commoner town just to see what it's like outside the palace walls, as she has hardly ever been except when she was younger. It's on one of those nights that she'd met a simple merchant's son(my character) who fell in love with her despite knowing her real name, or her lineage.


(Taela has 2 countries. In between the two there is about a ten mile stretch of "Uncharted Territory" where dangerous animals, 'rebel' forces, and anyone who's been exiled from their country lives. On the Eastern side of the continent is your character's country named whatever you'd like, and on the Western side is Apotha.)
