Stats for this weapon?

So, Ill Lily Style from Scroll of the Monk, which usually uses wooden clubs/batons/etc., says that it can be used with artifact batons provided said baton contains no magical material other than green jade.

Unfortunately, none of the books seems to provide stats for artifact batons, and while the stat differences between mundane and artifact versions of armor are actually fairly consistent as far as I can tell, weapons don't go so smoothly, so I'm really unsure of what stats would be appropriate for a jade baton.

Could anyone help me out with some reasonable stats for this?

I beleive that the Goremaul is generally used as the Artifact equivalent of a club.

In 1E, in the Dawn book (p. 80), there's a artifact boken...the Spirit Sword...wish they'd reprinted this toy....it was nifty...can't hurt to look at for ideas on statistics (those are on 81), anyhow.

Or take something like the short Daiklave and make the damage bashing instead of lethal...might work as well.

The Spirit Sword certainly was nifty. But what I would suggest is taking the non-artifact baton, or stick, making it slightly better than perfect and there you have an artifact baton. Apply the appropriate magic material bonus, and it should do. I don't think a Goremaul is a good representative of an artifact baton, as a baton is not going to have either the full damage potential or piercing effect that a Goremaul has.

well if mace and hammer have the same stats, then I would put the stats for a bashstick at th same as for a goremaul except with only +12b damage

The problem here is the Mace and Hammer are usually 5 Speed, +1 Acc, +8B/2, +1 Def, 2 Rate, O,P. The Club is usually 5 Spd, +1 Acc, +6B, +0 Def, 2 Rate. The Stick is usually 4 Spd, +0 Acc, +3B, +1 Def, 3 Rate, M.

The Club and Stick are very differeny weapons from the Hammer and Mace. Both do less damage, and are neither Overwhelming nor Piercing weapons. This would suggest that the artifact Jade Baton would be a weaker artifact, both in damage, and without the other bonuses. Such a drop in abilities would imply a drop in Artifact level. The best way to create a new Artifact 1 weapon is usually to take the rules for crafting a perfect weapon applied to a low power weapon (like say a stick or club) and add a +1 or +2 higher bonus, and magical material bonus. The resulting weapon should serve relatively well, without giving a style that does not have the Goremaul as a weapon that weapon for free.

um, what did the spirit sword do?

and what do you think the stats for a Falx would be? the same as a slashing sword?

The Spirit Sword is found on page 80Dawn. It's basically a bokken designed to defeat ghosts, spirits and other non-corporeal beings. It does double raw damage against them. When used against a spirit possesing someone, you can choose to use the flat of the blade and do only bashing to the possesed person, but double that in lethal to the possesing ghost, spirit, etc. Additionally, the sword allows the wielder to percieve immaterial beings to target them, although the vision is not enough to do more than fight them effectivelly...identifying them or seeing any real details is beyond it. The sword attuned for 10 motes. It had Speed +4, Acc +2, +4L, Def +2, Min Str 1.

i just heard about jade baton. sorry i can't help you about this but how about bladed baton? would you like it?

A baton and a war boomerang have identical numbers for use with thrown, with bashing instead of lethal, so I'd suggest that the artifact baton would also be identical to the sky-cutter for throwing use except dealing bashing. Looking at the trends between other artifacts and their mundane versions, I would suggest raising the accuracy by +1 and damage by +3B when wielded in melee.

The magical material bonuses for green jade are +1 damage and the ability to steal one mote per damaging hit from living creatures.

Sounds like a better version of the Greenwood Blade from Oadenol's Codex, page 34.

Speaking of, is that a legit form weapon for Ill Lily? It seems closer than a Green Jade Goremaul.
If all else fails, you could just stat out a perfect club and add on the Green Jade bonus. Not sure how to set Commitment or Artifact level exactly, but that would have to be Artifact 1.
