Starting A Business

Just like the title says. Has anyone started a business or knows someone who has? Any tips, stories, or information you'd like to pass on, would be much appreciated. Even just your observations.


I'm specifically looking for info on a business that provides a service (Drycleaning for example) not a product (Apple gadgets for example). Thanks in advance.

I believe @Elle Joyner has dabbled in floral arrangement or something in that general... group of things. My memory is imperfect.

That I have For weddings and such ! Mostly just did weddings for friends and family, but there's nothing more special than knowing you helped someone's perfect day

Hello there! I want to ask, was what you were doing time-consuming? Does it really take excellent organizational skills? Not that those two things are problems, I just want to know what the real experience is like on the owner side.

@White Masquerade - Not at all. I'm sure it WOULD be if we had a LOT of business - but we typically only do a few weddings a year It's actually a fun little thing to do, to pass time!

I can see you have a passion for it, haha. That is good! I guess if you like it, it wouldn't feel much like work would it? One more question for you. Were you afraid to begin doing what you were doing? You had any doubts?

Not really, but only cause I did my own wedding xD So I kinda knew what to expect. It's always a little nerve wracking, because sometimes people just don't know what they want or aren't very decisive, but I AM decisive, so it's pretty easy for me to work with folks

=P You know, because some people not knowing what they want, is the exact reason I'm thinking of taking the leap. I am decisive as well and feel I can do some good with what I present to them.
