Super Smash Bros. Melee is a Fair & Balanced Game
Minutes turned to hours as the students sat in the Pavilion. When the first hour had passed, no one seemed to notice. They were all too busy talking to register the passage of time. However, it was growing late. An uneasiness began to churn about the room and students caught themselves looking around at each other, waiting for something to change.
Carson and Bellvue, however, were just as nonchalant as when they arrived. Bellvue sat on a bench and clasped her hands together in her lap. Carson stood off by the side, whistling a tune none of the students recognized.
Lily was willing to be patient in these circumstances, but there comes a point in time when anyone would begin to question what was taking so long. She sighed annoyedly as she brushed the base of her dress and crossed her arms. Was this really professional to keep her waiting like this?
Bellvue could sense the tenseness in the air. “I remember by Traveling Day. It was almost just like this. And Petrova was still headmistress back then.” None of the students could ever recall a time when Petrova wasn’t there or she wasn’t headmistress. “I wish I could tell you all more, but that would spoil the fun of it.”
The students listening nodded uneasily. So this was Traveling Day? They had been told it was the day they would be free to see the world; a day where they would be given their purpose.
Suddenly, Bellvue stood. Carson straightened. It was the sound of tires on gravel, many tires. The teachers nodded to each other swiftly.
“It looks like it’s time, guys,” Carson said. “If you do what you’re told and remember your schooling, you should be fine.”
Lily relievedly smiled and stood up from the bench, her legs urging her to move around some more after waiting hours on a bench. She paced back and forth with her hands clasped behind her back as she waited for their transportation to arrive.
The sound grew louder. Off in the distance, over the hills, approached a line of jet black trucks. They were all identical. Four large wheels in a black shell. It was gigantic, yet it quiet. The only sound was the crunch of gravel.
All the students went silent. Nearer and nearer the trucks came until they were just in front of them. Only then could you see how huge these trucks were, they towered over everything.
Then, a single door opened. It was from the truck leading the line. A tall man stepped out, along with a short woman. They walked over and stood in front of the Pavilion, their eyes running over the students as if they were looking at products at a supermarket. Carson and Bellvue stood at attention and saluted, a strange motion that none of the students had seen before.
“At ease, Educators,” the woman said. The teacher’s shoulders slumped.
The tall man was impassive. His face was soft, but there was a chilling ferocity behind it. He had piercing blue eyes and such light blonde hair that it looked almost white. He was tall, taller than most of the teachers at Starson and he wore a well-tailored uniform, adorned with many strange medals that glinted in the headlights of the vans.
"Ah, finally..." she thought. The girl wore a pleasant smile on her face as she wondered about the accomodations that must have been prepared for her already for the long journey to—well—wherever they were all being taken. Just as she was about to walk towards the van, greet their hosts, and take her seat...
And then he spoke. A single word. “Begin.”
The woman lifted her hands and there was a flash of blinding light. Before the students could even realize it, soldiers in jet black uniforms had appeared before each one of them, binding their hands and covering their eyes. Some students shrieked in surprise, other were shocked into silence.
Lily grimaced as her eyes were forced shut by the burst of light, her whole body flinching at the sudden change. Suddenly, she was being bound from the back-side. Was all of this really necessary? Before she was able to ask any questions...
And then the man spoke again. “Let them be ours.”
And the students felt their limbs go weak and unresponsive and their powers dissipate. They could barely walk, they felt so thin. Then, they were all herded onto vans and shut away.
"U-ungh...!" she cried as she limply fell to the ground. She clutched desperately at the blades of grass grazing her red nails. Why did she feel so light? Her best efforts failing, Lily succumbed to her unconsciousness as she was carried away.
Hours Later...
A look of disomfort was plastered onto Lily's porcelain, doll-like face. Her eyelids couldn't find the strength to open, no matter what she tried. Wherever she must have been taken was extremely well lit. Her vision behind her closed eyelids was painted a pure white by the light being shone directly into her face.
Her audible complaining could be heard throughout the back of the black van as she squirmed around to find a way to sleep.
