"May the Force be with you."
I considered being a casual fan. Then I decided against that.
To be clear though, I do not know much about the "Old Republic". My knowledge is best in the realm of everything from the prequels and on, and at that, most of it is "canon" knowledge. My Expanded Universe knowledge is limited to the books: The Jedi Guide, The Sith Guide, the Imperial Handbook, The Bounty Hunter's Guide, and Darth Plagueis. However, I am willing to do some research, I just don't want to play in the "Old Republic". I have read some of the "canon" books, the Aftermath series, Bloodlines, and Tarkin, for example.
I mostly want to play in The Force Awakens timeline, and I have a few different character ideas for it, which are indicated below. The story would take place after The Force Awakens, while the First Order is rebuilding itself after its devastating loss. I'd love to play across from either General Armitage Hux, Poe Dameron, Kylo Ren, or Finn!
I imagine that the Knights of Ren are a group of Force-sensitives under Kylo Ren, as a side note. I also love doubling up. I'm pretty okay playing most any character, as well!
I also have a renewed interest in playing in the Original Timeline, and particularly across from a young Amilyn Holdo, or an OC Imperial, probably - we can talk that out. I'm open to playing most anyone from the Original series, if I know them (I'm not familiar with Doctor Aphra, or much of Rebels, sorry).
Finally, I've put up my original idea for a future in Star Wars, post the current timeline. It assumes Rey won and the Jedi end up being restored.
So please, take a look at what I have to offer! Also, please look at my rules, there is a code there. This is not an attempt to trick you, I want to make sure we're both compatible and will be happy with our thread together.
1. Don't God-Mod. In other words, don't make my character speak, don't make my character, don't make my character take damage, and don't control my character. If you want something to go a certain way for plot purposes, just PM me and ask. Usually, I accept "god-modding" during travel and the like. It is usually acceptable to assume movement if a character is already committed to the journey.
2. Please be able to play both genders, and play multiple roles. Your main character(s) may be just male or just female, but I expect all the side characters and NPCs to have life and flavor, too.
3. On the note of characters: I will always play one female character. So, be aware of that. With that said, I usually also always play one male character, and I do MxM, MxF, and FxF pairings, though I prefer MxF.
4. I only RP on threads, (or GDocs in rare cases), so no PM, kik, discord, e-mail, or other rps with me. So that I know you’ve read the rules this far, please tell me about your favorite food!
5. Please be able to write more than a couple of sentences as responses to me. I have tried to do “simple” RPs, but I end up not feeling motivated to respond or continue the RP. I will need you to be able to write a paragraph or two, each post, at least.
6. PM if you are interested. The only reason for you not to PM me is if you cannot do so due to the fact you haven't reached 24 hours/10 posts.
Guidelines:
1. I do not like to be hassled for posts. Especially if I have already posted that day or the day before. Do not bother me for posts until at least two days have passed. Otherwise, I will start to resent our RP and lose interest in it.
2. I enjoy OOC talk, however I will not respond to "hi" or "-poke-" or equivalents. Have substance to the chatter, even if it just asking "How are you?".
3. Do not bump our thread if I have not posted. I will not post out of spite. I have a problem with this, I acknowledge it, I'm not fixing it.
4. On that matter, please keep OOC to PMs and not on our IC thread. IC is for posting. If you have a question, concern, or comment, just shoot me a PM.
5. In general, I do not enjoy immediate romances or "slice-of-life" RPs, so do not come to me expecting I'll do either. I may make rare exceptions.
1. Admiral Hux/Trueborn Hux in TFA period, across Kylo.
2. Chandrilan Senator in TFA across Poe.
3. Chandrilan Senator in TFA across Hux.
4. Governor Tarkin in Original Trilogy across Amilyn Holdo.
5. TRA original verse - Huxes.
6. Trueborn Hux across Finn - if tied to Rae Sloane.
7. Trueborn Hux in TFA, across Poe.
A Force-Sensitive woman under the command of Kylo Ren, as a Knight of Ren. The origin story is up for discussion, she could have been one of the Jedis who joined him in the slaughter, or someone he encountered after leaving Luke's training. Regardless, she has joined with the Knights of Ren, and seems to support them. Particular designs vary, but these are the ideas I have for this one:
1. A Force-sensitive who was training to be a Jedi, but when push came to shove, she joined Kylo Ren and remade her life. Though her philosophy is often at odds with Kylo, and she seems more 'Jedi' than anything, she remains determined to see the fall of the Jedi and their teachings.
2. A First Order Officer turned Knight of Ren, who deals more with the diplomacy side of things. Kylo is the threat, she is the promise, and she tries to convince the galaxy to support them.
3. Never a fan of Snoke in the First Place, the Knight of Ren is called back once Kylo takes over, being one of those Jedi Padawans who left Luke with Kylo, after learning what Luke did. They become one of Kylo’s “praetorian guard” – but there is definitely a personality clash. Could lead to them resolving their issues, convincing Hux of a coup, or outright falling to the Resistance.
4. Other ideas!
As to plot possibilities, she could easily be sent as an escort along with Hux to protect him. She could be sent to deal with the Resistance and end up captured, or end up in a Resistance trap if she goes to speak to one of their allies and try to win them over. She could be sent on the mission to find Luke with Kylo Ren, or on her own.
For those who don't know, General Armitage Hux is a bastard. Commandant Brendol Hux had an affair with a kitchen worker and got Armitage. While it's unlikely in-canon that General Hux has any siblings, the idea of someone being Brendol Hux's legitimate child has me interested and so I've developed a few ideas around this now!
1. The child was abandoned on Arkanis with Brendol's Wife, and Mistress. When Arkanis was taken over by the New Republic, she wasn't harmed, but needless to say, her parents being tied to the Imperials...she didn't get to stay with them. She was put into the foster care system, and eventually, ran away from it, becoming something of an infamous pain as a pirate who, curiously, mostly targets the First Order.
b. Or targets the Rebellion. I could lean either way.
2. Similar beginning, the child is taken into the foster care system, but gets adopted, either by someone who loves the Empire, or someone who loves the New Republic. Either way, it would have a serious effect on who she grows up into, but in either case, she would focus her efforts politics and take a stand on Arkanis when Carise Sindian steps down after the fiasco of her being removed from the royal family lines.
3. She was taken with Armitage Hux, and raised in the First Order system, with similar experiences within the "special" training many of the Commandant Cadets received. She and Armitage likely maintained a tense relationship based on the blood issue, as well as their father trying to set them up as enemies and insisting "there could only be one". They likely have a tenuous alliance, now that Brendol is dead. Armitage is the General, while his sister would be the Admiral, keeping most of their forces in the Unknown Regions until the First Order finally makes it's move.
4. ??? Other ideas!
Sequel-Verse, Re-Do!
So, a lot of people who do Original Star Wars stuff, like to set it in the Old Republic, or Clone Wars. These eras just…don’t appeal to me. I like the prequels, don’t get me wrong, but I just don’t enjoy RPing in that era.
However, a thought came to me in RPing with another, and that is to do the TFA/TLJ ‘verse, but sans canons. Basically, the idea would be that the First Order doesn’t come out of hiding in the Unknown Regions for, oh, a century or so. So Leia Organa still would have started the Resistance in preparation for them, but nothing would happen within the lifetime of the known canon characters.
This gives us freedom to adapt both the First Order side, and the Resistance side, and potentially alter the outcome of the Jedi Order under Luke, if we so choose. We would have a basis for a plot, but as the characters within it will be different, so, too, the direction itself.
We will be building the world and organizations together, and while this will mean a huge cast, at the outset I still want to put the focus on 4-6 main characters, rather than try to flesh out every character, all at once (the movies gave us a limited focus, we didn’t learn much about Phasma or Snoke or Poe within the ‘verse – so we’ll start limited and expand). I firmly believe in this limitation because it will also help us to shape the plot based on who we focus on.
So with that said, I’ll note some character ideas I have for it, and I’m also open to playing in particular roles based on what my partner wants to RP across from! So I’ll definitely want to play a role of my own creation, but I’m completely open to playing a character-type (Resistance Pilot, TIE Fighter, Senator, Jedi, etc.) based on partner preference, too!
1. The General and the Admiral of the First Order – Hux’s dynasty continues in twins that have ended up in the roles of General and Admiral of the First Order, and there is no Starkiller this time around. Due to issues in the Unknown Regions involving the Chiss and Vaagari, methods involving dreadnaughts and sheer numbers outweighed the need for a Starkiller. As such, the First Order has been tested in war already, and learned that these methods seem to work a lot better – that, and Tarkin Initiative plans for the “Black Saber” dreadnaughts. Mini-Death Stars, in a word, that are a bit more mobile.
2. Senator Tarkin of Eriadu, wholly against the return of the Jedi to politics, and making it their life mission to fund and continue research that would put an end to the reign of Force sensitives all together.
3. Count Demici of Serenno, one of those researching and investigating the matters of Force Sensitives and the Force, in an effort to learn how to subdue or work against the Force to keep Force sensitives from simply seizing the reigns of galactic control again.
4. Flygirl or Flyboy of the Resistance, because they’re quite fun. Black Squadron, naturally, the elite squad of the Resistance.
5. Resistance Member, role to be determined, probably spy or something similar, but could be a field operative just as well.
6. Force-Sensitive Coruscanti Senator and Aide – generally has Imperial/Centrist leanings, but still opposed to the First Order.
7. Rae Sloane descendant - probably in the First Order, also potentially a turncoat.
8. ??? – I have several ideas that aren’t fleshed out, and am happy to adapt and work on, especially if they work with characters you want to RP across from or ideas you want to RP across from, so just hit me up with that!
Descendant of the Tarkins of Eriadu through Jova Tarkin's line, related to Wilhuff. She takes pride in her Imperial heritage, and is the Senator for Eriadu. Though a firm Centrist at the outset, she starts to distance herself from that party as she sees its corruption and how many wish to support the First Order. Though not opposed to speaking with them and inviting them into the Senate, she does not favor them.
Then, Hosnian Prime happens, and the woman makes it her firm goal to destroy the First Order, which certainly surprises some. After all, it was Grand Moff Tarkin who destroyed Alderaan....
Some plot ideas are below!
1. The Resistance is aware of Tarkin's turn and criticisms of the Senate, and their inability to act against the First Order - as well as the military that the woman has at her disposal. They decide to reach out to her, and try to bring her into the fold.
2. The First Order has come to realize the threat that Tarkin presents to them. Knowing that they have some similar goals, as the First Order rose out of the Empire's ashes, they decide to either shut her up, or turn her towards favoring them again.
3. Assuming the Carrion Spike isn't destroyed, and is still operated by First Order Agent, Terex, Governor Tarkin ends up on a hunt for the ship in the chaos of everything and runs into Poe Dameron in his mission to get information from Terex (Poe Dameron comics, Terex is a major villain in them, and has the Carrion Spike ship -
a ship that belonged to Wilhuff Tarkin).
4. The First Order is in pursuit of the Resistance, but the Tarkin character does get the distress signal sent by the Resistance and decides to join the fray. This could be by going to intercept the First Order at the base where the Resistance which the Resistance has abandoned, by offering the Resistance shelter on Eriadu once they’ve fled, or by calling an emergency meeting of the Senate (perhaps someone of the Resistance and/or First Order could show up?).
5. Your ideas!
Senator of Chandrila who has stepped up into the shoes of Mon Mothma, and is a firm supporter of the Resistance, though she remains in the Senate to try and get the New Republic to see the threat that is the First Order. She has allies on both sides, Centrists and Populists. It isn’t until Hosnian Prime occurs that people start to believe her – and some begin to see her as a threat. She takes what allies survived, and brings them together, to move to support General Organa.
1. If this takes place Pre-The Last Jedi, General Organa could go to Chandrila and meet with her, bringing the Resistance along, to regroup and prepare to go against the First Order with the allies that have been gathered after Hosnian Prime.
2. If this is Post-The Last Jedi, I could see the Prodigy reaching out to Leia (finally hearing the call) and either saving them at Crait, or sending for Leia to join her at Chandrila so they can regroup here – it may have taken longer to gather all the allies.
3. The Senator could have gone to speak with the First Order as a way to try and seek a diplomatic solution – pre-Hosnian Prime. Post-Hosnian Prime, could go under that guise, but her intentions are more to gather information on what they have and where they’re located, as well as who may support them.
4. Other ideas! Generally better to work with her and Resistance people (Poe, Finn, and in her case, Holdo xD but I’m open to Kylo or Hux with a good enough reason/plot).
As to plot possibilities, she could work with the Resistance to gather more allies, be thrown into a mission alongside some of the more rash Resistance people and learn how field work actually is, or other such things! I’m open, she’s my newest idea!
Okay, so someone on here talked me into doing an Original Trilogy thing, and now I have a need. For this, I’ve basically modified the ideas of the Chandrilan Senator and Tarkin, and added a couple of other possibilities, but for the OT, I want to play across from either: Amilyn Holdo, Kes Dameron (I’m sorry Shara Bey!), Terex (this would probably be post-Endor), an Imperial OC, a Rebel OC, or maybe Thrawn – I am still learning about him, gradually. Anyways, my ideas and thoughts are below!
1. Tarkin: Heir to Eriadu after Wilhuff’s death, descended from Jova, and also realizing that the Empire is not the path. Of course, given what Wilhuff’s done, joining the Rebel Alliance is going to be…tricky. I’d love this one across Holdo in particular!
2. Chandrila: Aide to Mon Mothma, and the one who frequently goes to the Rebel bases and acts on her behalf while Mon Mothma plays her role on Chandrila and tries to maintain her position within the government so that she can continue to get information on the Empire.
3. TIE Fighter: Cocky TIE fighter who has survived multiple battles with the Rebel Alliance, and loves nothing more than a good dog-fight. Perhaps she’s developed a rapport with a Rebel X-Wing pilot, or impressed some Imperial – options are open here.
4. Hidden Force Sensitive Senator: After the Jedi Purge, many of those with the Force kept it hidden, after hearing rumors of what the Empire did. This senator, or rather, ex-senator after the Senate was dissolved, was one such individual who’s kept it on the down low. From Serenno, she has access to Clone War tech and has modified it to help keep that talent hidden, and tries to speak out and up against the Empire while not being affiliated yet with the Rebel Alliance. Could see her moved into a journalist position, or some other position where she’s combating the Empire through news and such.
Okay, so these are characters that don't have as many ideas, or aren't as fleshed out yet, but I'm willing to work with them!
1. Female Hux: I cosplay Hux, and it’s hella fun, and I love Hux as a man, don’t get me wrong – but I would also really enjoy doing an AU/What-If of Hux as a woman, and how that would play out, preferably right the point where Snoke is found dead (I honestly found it hard to believe that Hux knelt to Kylo’s authority so easily), or right after the movie and the exploration of the rebel base. The clashes with Kylo could be fun, but after the scene with Poe, too, that could be interesting if they caught the X-Wing pilot right before their actual escape – considering Hux’s state of mind at this point and all. Also up for playing this one pre-The Last Jedi!
2. Flygirl: Resistance or First Order, I don't care, I would love to find a way to play some sort of cocky as all get out flygirl!
3. Senator of Coruscant: It was an "AU" or other option for one of my KoR characters, so basically, daughter of Coruscant lobbyists, Force-sensitive but masks it with help from Serenno tech, and a senator of Coruscant. A Centrist/Imperialist who generally speaking, likes what the First Order is selling, but is against the planet-destroying thing. Likely Gray Jedi leanings if it goes that way.
