Star Wars Dice Roleplay - Questions

Salutations!

I've recently become interested in running a Star Wars themed dice roleplay here, based on the Saga-edition rulebook. I'm relatively capable when it comes to the narrative aspects of roleplaying and gamemastering, but my experience with dice roleplays here is approximately...zero.

Fortunately, dice roleplays don't seem to deviate too far from free-form story according to my own experiences, but I wanted to ask for advice from my more experienced peers. What are the differences that I should be aware of and keep in mind when running a dice roleplay in contrast to normal free-form? Also, what sorts of problems tend to come up that I should address early on?

The big thing is that unlike freeform you can't just freely make stuff up the rules and mechanics enforce a type of reality by listing things you can and can't do mind you there's some loopholes and exceptions but as a whole freeform is purely narrative whereas the game has something more concrete.

Plus dice introduce a chance element which means you can lose and will at some point. Which I've seen some people complain but they're not an issue as they won't play and honestly they can get bent if their ego can't handle a chance of failure. That being said, you should fudge the dice or something if some guy is just having a string of shit rolls.

Honestly only thing you should worry about is handling progression since you get XP per session in games. And in PbP it's kinda hard to say when a session begins and when a new one begins. As well as planning out the encounters and creating stats for the combat encounters and any non-throw away npc. And of course knowing the rules for the game
