Captain on the bridge! (though he won't be a full-fledged PC, more like an NPC)

PERSONAL DETAILS
Name: Ke'varr of House Sel'kir (aka Ke'varr Sel'kir)
Age: 781 earth years (though it must be noted that his current personality is 190 y.o., and his body had been a vessel to 3 past personalities)
Sex: Male
Gender: Heterosexual
Species: Kraekiran Raven
Species Details: The Kraekiran Ravens are the dominant species of the Kraekira system, having subjugated the Kraekiran Eagles almost 1000 years ago after millenniums of co-existence. Naturally, peace and equality followed. They are as alien as aliens can be to Humans, being Avian analogues that have evolved to sapience.

They generally stand taller than humans, at least six feet tall or more, but are quite slender - though it is hard to judge their real size because of their feathers. They are four eyed, which gives them the ability to judge distance and brightness superior to humans. Their eyes are reddish with black pupils. Being not quite Avian as humans know it, they are actually eight-limbed, with a pair of arms, a pair of legs, two main wings and two rudder-wings below. They have a short tail with stabilising feathers. They resemble what the Humans call 'Ravens' somewhat, having dark, reflective feathers. Their arms and legs end with sharp talons, with hands and feet like that of birds. Their toes are long but somewhat fragile, such that Kraekirans often wear complicated shoes with metal toes to protect them. They have beaks, and no teeth, though it is a recently popular practice for Kraekirans to wear artificial teeth whenever dining with humanoids or any species that eat as Humans do. Otherwise, they swallow their meals whole.

Kraekirans are predators, but have learnt to eat vegetables and grain. Their diet, however, remain largely meat-based, and they cannot process huge amounts of anything else. What is very controversial is the fact that they used to partake in sapient humanoid flesh in the early days of their warp-capable history. This includes Starfleet officers when the Technocracy came to blows with the Federation. The practice was outlawed only in the 23rd century on their own volition.

The Federation encountered them towards the Galactic north in the Beta quadrant, in the mid-23rd century. Back then, the Kraekiran Technocracy was a political entity spanning dozens of systems, and quite powerful. Initial first contact and diplomatic efforts were an immense failure, as the universal translator then could not decipher the Kraekiran speech - though that was the least of the setbacks. A failure to understand Kraekiran culture lead to a brief skirmish between Kraekiran void-ships and Federation starships. It wasn't until 2351 that the Kraekiran finally joined the Federation.

The Kraekiran biology is interesting when it comes to their physiology. They are functionally immortal, though disease and accident could still kill them, or a vessel, in their terms. However, their mind is another matter. While a Kraekiran may persist physically, their mind has an age limit between 190 to 215 earth years, which ages as human minds do. As such, Kraekirans undergo a personality cycle. When a Kraekiran personality nears expiration, s/he will know as his mind would become ever more scattered and irrational and mentally ill. This is a time when personal matters are settled before the Kraekiran falls into a coma when the brain begins to rewire itself and purge most of its memories. The body will alsmo undergo metamorphosis, and can change in any number of traits - it can change in appearance, height, weight and sex.

That said, Kraekirans could retain vestiges of their past life, which can take the form of stray memories. Some interests and skills could resurface, as do compulsions. However, basic knowledge, motor functions and skills are more often than not retained, and a Kraekiran could function as a normal adult within days or weeks of waking up as a new person.

Kraekirans are known to be born insane relative to humans and most other humanoid races, for the lack of a better phrase. They are known to harbour multiple personality or mental disorders per person, though it is considered normal by Kraekiran terms. Observers have noted that their immortality and personality cycles could be a possible contributing factor. Others believe that they are simply alien beings with very alien minds.

Ethnicity: Ke'varr is of the aristocratic house Sel'kir, a ruling family who runs a state in the northern hemisphere of Kraekira Prime. He is a Kraekiran Raven with Raven feathers.

Appearance: Ke'varr stands tall at 2.3 metres. His scalp feathers are kept long, sweeping down the back of his head. He actually has numerous scars from his previous confrontations, just that they are hidden under his feather and uniform. However, what is not hidden is the notch around the middle-left of his top beak, made by a blade in some past battle and a scar running through his top left eye (the eye itself was healed to nearly-full functionality). He had opted not to remove the scars, and had kept them to 'remind' him of his past failures and triumphs.

Due to his non-humanoid avian-analogue body structure, his Starfleet uniform is quite different, with openings at the back for his wings. The ridge of his wings are decorated with the appropriate Starfleet command red sheath. His boots fit his bird feet closely, and are reinforced to prevent severe injuries to the toes. He wears only two of his medals from his time in the Kraekiran Voidfleet - The Bloodletter's Guild Honour and the Rii'Var Flock Tactician's Citation - on the right side of his chest, opting to avoid upsetting his fellow Federation officers and crewmen by wearing the other medals, which he had been awarded by killing their predecessors a century ago. The Bloodletter's Guild Honour medal is in the general shape of a Kris, with drops of blood surrounding the blade and two different Avian hands grasping the blade. The Rii'Var Flock Tactician's Citation is in a general Delta shape.

Personality: Ke'varr is artistic by nature, and enjoys a myriad of activities, though most of them are literary and spatial. He enjoys poetry, writing, painting and holographic sculpturing the most. His style is considered conventional in Kraekiran culture, though humans would associate it to be similar to the Gothic genre.

Other than that, Ke'varr is usually a reserved, calm and calculated person, though he have his moments. He can be warm to people who know him, but at the same time, being a Kraekiran, he is also quite unstable - just that being 190 years into his current personality, he has learnt not to let it define him. He does have his limits however, and when pushed, people around him will discover that he could be quite unpredictable, and as human psychiatrists would put it, bipolar. At times, he can seem brooding and depressed, and at other times manic, and rage-filled. He can be given to obsessive-compulsive tendencies at times. Personality shifts can happen sometimes, abruptly, a result of his past personalities.

Officers under him can find him fearsome, and others, creepy with nervousness commonly reported to overpower them. However, those who have been with him for some time don't suffer such things. Indeed, while his utterly alien physical appearance, complete with large size, strong limbs and talons no less, can be intimidating. This is coupled with his predatory stance and general behaviour. But he is a member of a highly intelligence race, which is a member of Starfleet - those who realise this in its fullest entirety will have an easier time with him.

Summary of Positive Traits:
  • Bottomless Experience: Draws on over a century of experience in and out of Starfleet, and glimpses of distant pasts from his previous lives.
  • Open-minded: The more you know, the less you do. Having had multiple personalities before, and swinging from many extremes and moderate stances have its benefits.
  • Wide range of virtues: Again, having been through three quarters of a millennium of personalities, and being in positions both extreme and moderate have given him access to many kinds of values.
Summary of Character Flaws:
  • Dark Past: His time outside of Starfleet hasn't always been glorious, and it is something he doesn't really want to talk about.
  • Bipolar Disorder: As a Kraekiran, he swings from one extreme to the other.
  • Depression: He may swim on the surface in the ocean of sadness mostly, but he is never out of it, and sometimes, he might be dragged down into the abyss.
  • Manic Attacks: He can get overexcited. Though he has learnt to control it, he can never really get out of it.
  • Obsessive-Compulsive: He is a perfectionist by nature, partly due to his years in and out of the current personality, and partly due to the nature of the Kraekiran.
  • Intermittent Explosive Disorder: He has a problem containing his rage sometimes, though again, the pattern is that it is part of the Kraekiran psychology and he has learnt to calm down.
  • Paranoid: Perhaps it's the lifetime of service in dangerous positions, but partly due to his Kraekiran psychology, he is naturally paranoid, sometimes to a dangerous degree, though he have learnt to control it... Most of the time.
  • Claustrophobic: The USS Vigilance, like most other Federation vessels, are not built for free-flying Kraekirans. Being part of an Avian-analogue race that is used to wide open spaces, Ke'varr can never get used to the ships he's been serving in as a Federation officer.
  • Predator: Belongs to a race of complete carnivores. The urge to kill and eat meat comes up sometimes, but he has learnt to control it, and he does have weekly prescriptions to tone it down.
Biography:
To fill this page with a history of all of his personalities would be akin to writing multiple encyclopedias, so it will only focus on his current personality, and in point form:
2181: Ke'varr, in his current state, was born to the house of Sel'kir, a noble house of politicians, philosophers and artists.
2201: He enrolled in the Kraekiran Voidfleet Institute as an Aspirant (Cadet-equivalent).

2285: He was promoted to Flock Lord (Captain-equivalent) after routing an armada of Federation ships patrolling the border between the Federation and Kraekiran Technocracy, by then responsible for destroying six Starfleet ships. He was nicknamed the 'Scourge of the Federation' by then, among other things.
2286: He was present during the signing of a new treaty between the Federation and Kraekiran Technocracy after a Kraekiran Fleet was obliterated and he barely got out alive.
2297: He gained command of another ship, though with the generally peaceful climate of the year, he became more of an explorer than soldier.

2313: Revolutionised fleet tactics.
2320: Was present during the signing of a new treaty with the Federation, the Blood Pact, bonding the Kraekiran Technocracy and United Federation of Planets in a bond of friendship. He represented the Technocracy, and was a participant of the Blood-Drinking Ceremony between him and the Federation representative.
2322: Was promoted to Sanguinarian Nestlord (equivalent to Vice Admiral)
2323: Headed the expansion of Kraekiran space by numerous systems.
2330: Was promoted to Castellan Nestlord (equivalent to Admiral).
2331: His final campaign was supposed to be to chastise the Federation for repeated attempts in overtures to 'absorb' them. He argued against this and resigned. The campaign was never carried out.
2332: Ke'varr retired into the arts. He made quite an impact as an author of his experiences as part of the Kraekiran Voidfleet, and of some more fictional stories.
2336: He tried his hand at poetry, but had only minor successes.
2339: Dabbled in sculpturing of numerous mediums. He toured the Federation, and was only one of few Kraekirans to do so. As such, his work in all artistic fields were known as influential representations of Kraekiran culture.
2340: He began a tour emphasising the friendship and complicated relationship between the Technocracy and Federation, with most of his works using it as a theme.
2351: He was a guest of honour in a ceremony officially inducting the Kraekiran Technocracy into the United Federation of Planets

PERSONAL DETAILS
Name: Imogen Thurstan
Age: 23
Sex: Female
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Appearance: Persistently pale, thin-boned, tall, and slim, Imogen stands out like a little white pillar. She does have a deceptive amount of muscle packed onto her thin frame, though, as a result of her diligent exercise. She's not exactly brawny, but she's as in-shape as you'd expect a security officer to be, plus a tad extra. Imogen wears her light brown hair short and neat, has an overall tidy, practical appearance. Even when off-duty, she always seems to be dressed as though ready to leap into action at any moment. Her face has very angular, elegant features, and her forest-green eyes certainly stand out. It's a matter for debate as to whether she's pretty, but she is certainly a striking figure.
Personality: Imogen is a very open individual, willing to share things of herself, rarely feeling as though a conversation is 'too private' for her. Unfortunately, she often unconsciously assumes that others are like this as well, and can start oversharing or asking personal questions far too quickly. She does her best to moderate this, but she doesn't quite know how, so the effort is doomed to failure for now. She's also rather friendly, keen to make the acquaintance of almost anyone she can. She keeps her questions and sharing to her peers, however, rarely fraternising with the higher ranks. She treats superior officers with professional respect, only doling out more personal gestures in equal measure to what she receives, and very little beyond.

She takes pride and joy in being a Starfleet officer, seeing as it's something of a family business. She's vivacious and playful, but focused and responsible in equal measure, having a decent sense of what scenario calls for what. She can never fully put her duty out of her mind, however, as seen in her dress sense, which is almost universally versatile, practical clothes which don't restrict her movement and don't catch on things. In a similar vein, she seems to have some kind of plan of action for almost anything that pops up, leading some to accuse her of paranoia. She'll accuse them right back of asking to be caught unawares. Assuming it isn't a superior officer, of course. And said plans of action tend to be excellent, drawing on her wide knowledge of tactics, strategy, applications of them both historical and new, and her generally astute nature.

Imogen gets quite prideful about how her family's been part of Starfleet since almost the beginning, and at her worst can be dismissive of those without a similar 'pedigree', though thankfully these episodes are rare. She also holds grudges, and can get quite petty about this, gleefully engaging in minor, irritating pranks in 'revenge' when times are more relaxed. When things get serious, all grudges and pettiness are forgotten, and new grudges tend not to stick. She has trouble with being alone, especially after the Odyssey, which affected her more than she lets on. She feels alone after having many of her friends die, and so buries herself in new friends in an attempt to move on and skip as much of the grieving as possible. Time will tell if it'll work.
Summary of Positive Traits: Responsible when she needs to be, friendly and open when she can be, generally good company, gregarious, professional, dutiful, prepared, intelligent, situationally aware, enthusiastic, both scholarly and athletic.
Summary of Character Flaws: Chronically overshares and asks too-personal questions, petty, holds grudges, fears being alone, can be snobby about familial service history, a little paranoid, hasn't properly dealt with the Odyssey and is unlikely to deal with any new traumas all too well either.
Biography: Born of Commander Jensen Thurstan and Lieutenant Commander Eliza Thurstan, both of Starfleet, Imogen's life has been in the stars from the very beginning. Starfleet raised her, as it did her mother before her. While Jensen was one of the first of his family to go through Starfleet Academy, Eliza's family has been serving with Starfleet since almost the beginning. Imogen would've felt pressured to go through the Academy, but with her life as it was, she had already made the decision to join Starfleet by the time anyone in the family decided she was old enough to begin influencing. At 18, as soon as she was allowed, she entered the Academy and began her studies.

Imogen found that she fit in quite well at the Academy. She'd always been a precocious, pleasant girl, but in the Academy she fully flourished. Her Academy life was enviable, surrounded by friends, performing well in tests both academic and physical, happy, content, and sheltered. She was noted for her great aptitude for the more combative aspects of the Academy, as well as her passion for history and the more intellectual aspects of combat. No prodigy, and lacking the all-important experience, but very remarkable nonetheless. News of her successes understandably delighted her parents.

On her graduation from the Academy, she was immediately assigned to the USS Odyssey under Captain Keogh, and found herself once again immediately fitting in. She was welcomed as a highly skilled newbie, and a Lieutenant Lucas Gallagher took her under his wing to teach her the ways of security work in practise. The two quickly bonded, Lucas seeming to see her as some kind of daughter. Unfortunately, the USS Odyssey was soon ordered through the Bajoran Wormhole to rescue Commander Benjamin Sisko. She and many other non-essential personnel, as well as all civilians, were offloaded onto Deep Space 9, where Imogen waited for news of the Odyssey's safe return, having bought a bottle of Springwine from Bajor to celebrate with Lucas after they returned.

The USS Odyssey did not return. What did return was the two runabouts which had accompanied it, the Orinco and the Mekong, bearing condolences and news of the Odyssey's destruction, with all hands lost. That night, Imogen drank the bottle alone, and not even the pounding headache the morning after could make her regret it. Many of the rest of the crew was reassigned, but Imogen remained on DS9 for a short time, serving with the station security. Here she was often noted for her work, and won a great deal of respect. She was, however, called away at short notice to serve under Captain Ke'varr of the USS Vigilance.

Even before they met, the Chief of Security was impressed by her record, however short it was, and decided to make her something of an unofficial/official second, seeing as many of the other security staff were... rather cobbled together, and so she had the best record and the most potential. Reactions so far seem to be mixed between doubt from those who feel she's too young, resentment from higher ranking officers, envy from a few, acceptance from those who see Ma'Juk's reasoning, those who accepted the decision based on their own conclusions, and a couple of outliers. Imogen's attitude and obvious competence is winning over many of those who had doubts, however. Some slower than others.

STARFLEET RECORDS
Rank: Ensign
Areas of Study: Klingon Politics, Military Science, Historical Perspective on Military Tactics, Combat Strategy, Zero-G, Basic + Advanced Self Defense, Athletics, Early History of Starfleet.
Other Skills: Something of a discus thrower, though more 'aspiring' than 'skilled'. Avid sailor of sail ships, though she does prefer larger ships such as a 17th century Earth ship of the line. Enthusiast of the 16th-19th century Earth Age of Sail history, with a special admiration for her idol, Admiral Horatio Nelson. Considerable skill in artistic stone carving, with a flair for non-standard lettering.
Specialisation: Security.
Relevant Interests: Age of Sail.
Service History: Roughly 1 year aboard the USS Odyssey, offloaded onto DS9 before it went to the Gamma Quadrant and was subsequently destroyed. Thinly jokes about how as soon as she leaves the Vigilance it'll get destroyed too, to cover up her sense of loss.
Commendations and Awards: No major awards, but many commendations and notes for her work ethic, excellence, passion for the work, how well she got along with others, and the occasional innovative idea or two.
Condemnations and Forfeitures: A spotless record.

PERSONAL DETAILS
Name: Jack Keiper
Age: 37
Sex: Male
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Ethnicity:
Appearance:

KosStarfleet.jpg

Personality: Jack Keiper is incredibly emotionally volatile, recklessly irresponsible, and endlessly flirtatious. She has very little time for etiquette or manners, often committing faux pas that make her an annoyance among human crew, and a potential diplomatic threat when in alien company. She is respectful of superiors and obedient, but she often jumps to her own solutions to problems long before ordered. Jack has been diagnosed with both Bipolar disorder and depression, both of which she is medicated for.
Summary of Positive Traits: Jack is extremely intelligent, passing every single knowledge and pattern recognition test in Star Fleet with flying colors for a human. She is a quick thinker and efficient problem solver.
Summary of Character Flaws: Jack is also extremely pugnacious and often over-eager when it comes to risk-taking. She's a show-off when it comes to intelligence, and often times incapable of basic common sense calculations.
Biography: Daughter of a recently deceased Star Fleet Admiral, she showed early promise with her super-human intellect, and her seemingly perfect memory for facts and details. Her mother, a life-long Captain with Star Fleet on the USS Carl Sagan, demanded that she be admitted into Star Fleet Academy at 16, where she quickly proved to Star Fleet to be a potential danger. Although she tested out of every single course and completed Academy with flying colors, her actions between admittance and graduation caused the destruction of the Biology building in the San Francisco campus and over 100 injuries.
Regardless, she has proved that she would be an invaluable asset to Star Fleet, with limitless potential (also, it is unconfirmed how much can actually be traced back to her.). She has spent brief periods on the USS Caligula, the USS Lafayette, the USS Enterprise, and the USS Lexington. All of these periods were ended with being quickly removed from the crew by a supervising officer due to "Safety Reasons". She is to be under constant supervision from a supervising officer and considered to be on probation. Any infractions of Star Fleet rules should be reported immediately to Star Fleet command to be used as grounds for Court Martial.
STARFLEET RECORDS
Rank: Ensign
Areas of Study: Jack Keiper is incredibly knowledgeable in anatomy, biology, medicine, chemistry, physics, ecology, oceanography, geology, meteorology, archaeology, economics, sociology, and linguistics.
Other Skills: She states she can "cook minute rice in 58 seconds", "seduce a Klingon in 3 minutes", and "makes the best moonshine in the galaxy". Whether these claims are correct or not is unconfirmed.
Specialisation: She has been limited to working in only a scientific capacity on any vessel.
Relevant Interests: Jack has been shown to be incredibly interested in almost every facet of Star Fleet operations, but has proven to be best suited to the scientific.
Service History:She has spent brief periods on the USS Caligula, the USS Lafayette, the USS Enterprise, and the USS Lexington. All of these periods were ended with being quickly removed from the crew by a supervising officer due to "Safety Reasons".
Commendations and Awards: None
Condemnations and Forfeitures:
Jack Keiper has been barred from all Star Fleet medical operations including the administration of first aid.
Jack Keiper has been barred from unauthorized and unsupervised verbal communication with those from non-Federation races.
Jack Keiper has been barred from entering any engine room of any Warp-capable Star Fleet vessel.
Jack Keiper has been barred from unsupervised consumption of alcohol on any Star Fleet vessel.
Jack Keiper has been barred from creating programs for the Holodeck or any other similar virtual reality simulation device.
Jack Keiper has been barred from working in any capacity in the security of a Star Fleet vessel.
Jack Keiper has been barred from operating, using, or otherwise touching any Ship-to-ship communication device.
Jack Keiper has been barred from going within 5 meters of any Star Fleet transporter or escape pod unauthorized.
If Jack Keiper is found in any place where she is not specifically ordered, assume that she is violating countless rules of Star Fleet and should be placed under the supervision of a Star Fleet officer of no rank less than Lieutenant.

PERSONAL DETAILS

Name: Kimberly #49
Age: Commissioned in 2338
Sex: Female
Gender: Female
Species: Galor-Type Android
Ethnicity: Kimberly-Class
Appearance:
Kimberly is a slim, well-formed woman on the tall side for the human norm. Her skin is clear and her eyes as black as any Betazoid's. Kimberly keeps her hair short, straight, and as black as her eyes. She's adopted the human female affectation of wearing cosmetics to accent her otherwise black-and-white features. A keen eye might notice the occasional patch of light flicker under her uniform just above the breastbone, particularly when she's thinking hard.

Personality:
Kimberly is thoughtful, a bit quiet and an active listener. This tends to hide her natural charm in conversation. Kimberly can be animated on many topics but shows most of her enthusiasm and passion for science, exploration and especially new cultures. She downplays her inhumanity by focusing on the person she's talking to, showing interest in them, asking questions and learning and supporting people through grace, poise and tact.

As a result, it's remarkably difficult for most to get inside her head. The fact that she runs on software complicates things, particularly for telepaths (though she emulates emotions closely enough for empaths to sense what she feels). That said, she's known to hum when she's happy, has little to no interest in tactics or combat strategy and she likes to collect teacups. Her quarters have literally a wall of teacups. If asked, she's never given the same explanation twice.

Summary of Positive Traits:
Inhuman construction (immune to pain, fatigue, hunger, thirst, illness or oxygen deprivation, eidetic memory, etc.)
Loves people and finds them endlessly fascinating.
Unfailingly loyal, both professionally and personally.

Summary of Character Flaws:
Tends to be literal (and thus easy to trick).
Off-switch (in her lower back, deliberately built in for human comfort).
Inhuman background makes it challenging to easily relate to organic beings, particularly the way organic minds and memory works.

Biography:
The Kimberly serving on the USS Vigilance is the 49th in the Kimberly series, produced on Galor II. Previously known as the Mudd androids, this hive-minded race of artificial lifeforms had kept to themselves since contact with Mudd and the Federation in 2267, content to manufacture new libraries, engineering shops and advanced medical research labs for the extinct race that had built them. A Daystrom Institute annex was built by the Federation on Galor II, to study artificial life forms, which the Galor II androids tolerated indifferently.

Things changed with the discovery of Lieutenant Commander Data in 2338. With renewed interest by the Federation in studying android technology, a number were requested from Galor. Despite the establishment of the Daystrom Institute Annex on Galor IV in 2322, the Federation had interest in studying the machines at more than one lab. As a result, the Kimberly Series was one of three built to facilitate more direct interaction with Starfleet and Federation civilians. These special long-range, long-term models included Emotion Emulation software to mimic familiar behaviors to put humans at ease, as well as featuring Direct Synaptic Synchronization hardware, allowing them to link into communication arrays to transmit memories and queries outside of Galor's range.

Kimberly #49 was one of the individual androids sent to Galor IV to be studied (and to study) at the Daystrom Institute, learning all that she could about the Federation from first-hand observation. After all, Mudd had proved to be such a disappointment, the androids had made no effort to learn about humans beyond their initial contact with Captain Kirk. Over time, Kimberly #49 won the respect of the Daystrom Institute staff who agreed to sponsor her as a non-Federation citizen in her application to Starfleet in 2355. It took significant persuasion on her part but she at last won the respect and subsequent letter of recommendation from Vice Admiral Anthony Haftel, a cybernetics specialist who headed up the Daystrom Institute annex.

She has since served with distinction, showing a passion for deep space exploration, first contact situations and an abiding interest in all things new.

STARFLEET RECORDS
Rank: Junior Lieutenant
Areas of Study: Exoarchaeology, Exobiology, Xenolinguistics and Astrophysics
Other Skills: Direct Synaptic Synchronization memory sharing means Kimberly remembers a variety of careers held by the other 499 Kimberlys spread throughout the Federation. For the most part, this means she's surprisingly good at mixing drinks and serving customers. The other three Kimberlys who serve as enlisted crewmen in Starfleet are all in engineering, giving her a modest ability to effect repairs and maintain parts of a starship if pressed.
Her android construction also means she can perform complex, repetitive physical tasks without error or fatigue. She lacks the buoyancy needed to swim (or float) however.
Specialisation: Communications, with emphasis on linguistics and electronic warfare.
Relevant Interests: Art, history, culture, people in general. Also, teacups.
Service History:
It took Kimberly six years to graduate from Starfleet Academy but she did so with degrees in Exoarchaeology, Exobiology, Xenolinguistics and Astrophysics in 2361. She was put on administrative duty at the Daystrom Institute between 2361 and 2365, mostly owing to her questionable legal status given the lack of a decisive overarching ruling for the handling of artificial life serving in Starfleet...particularly given there were three other Kimberly's also serving in Starfleet in the enlisted ranks. The Judge Advocate General's ruling that Data was 'alive' in 2365, as well as the Federation's first contact with the Borg that year, finally moved her career forward and she served on the USS Endeavour from 2365 to 2367. By 2368, she'd been transferred to the USS Galaxy as a Junior Lieutenant, serving as a Science officer. By 2370, Kimberly qualified to support the night shift Communications post and did so until her transfer to the Vigilance in 2371.
Commendations and Awards: None in particular, beyond those earned through consistent service.
Condemnations and Forfeitures: A single formal reprimand, owing to an unfortunate diplomatic incident in 2366 involving a first contact situation, an ambassador and his husband, and two regulations incorrectly followed despite their lack of application to an inorganic Starfleet officer. It's tremendously embarrassing and guaranteed to make her blush should the topic ever surface.

PERSONAL DETAILS
Name: Savir
Age: 28
Sex: Male
Gender: Male
Species: Vulcan/Betazoid
Ethnicity: caucasian
Appearance:
Given that Vulcan genes are dominant,Savir's appearance matches that of a typical Vulcan, from arched eyebrows and pointed ears to the trademark haircut. His eyes, however, are darker and larger than the norm, hinting at his Betazoid heritage.Due to their unusual look paired with the fact that they do reflect emotion, he sometimes appears to be younger than his years, or in a state of permanent wonder. He has a handsome face with sharp features and a tall, slender body possessing more strength than it would seem on the first sight. Fairly attractive, if you don't find Vulcans abhorrent by default.

Personality:
Both at Starfleet Academy and in active service, Savir is known as a responsible, mentally stable officer with admirable work ethics, outstanding results, natural respect for authorities and healthy professional relationships. Fellow students would likely see him as fairly reserved and focused on his studies, yet entertaining and somewhat sarcastic on occasion. Among Vulcans, despite the obscurity of his origin, he is respected for his excellent control of emotions and adhering to the rules of logic under any circumstances. On Betazed, he is seen as an amicable individual with a great sense of humor and keen curiosity about anything and everything. In short, he is capable of emulating any kind of behavior that is preferred in a particular culture/peer group. However, if all the people he had met in different periods of his life ever gathered in the same room, they might find out each of them knows a different person. His true personality therefore remains a mystery, perhaps even to Savir himself. This has never presented a problem in his career path, because he always scored 99,8 % on any psychological evaluation test.

Summary of Positive Traits:

Telepathic and empathic powers

Eidetic memory

Responsibility and professionalism

(Mostly scientific) interest in all sentient life forms

Problem-solving capacity

Summary of Character Flaws:

Detachment (from others as well as his own personality)

Suppressed traumatic experience

Somewhat patronizing attitude

Nonexistent experience with close relationships

Biography:
Savir's genetic combination is very unique - currently, he is the only Vulcan/Betazoid hybrid known to live, which is not a surprise, given the completely different cultural background of the two species does not provide them with enough common ground to willingly pair up. Rather than born naturally, his embryo was artificially created as a part of an extensive research on telepathic species conducted on Adigeon Prime. Not a member of the Federation, the planet was home of an avian species, the Adigeons, renown for their facilities focusing on genetic experiments and augmentations.

In his childhood, Savir was held in the facility as a research subject along with a group of other children with different degrees of telepathic powers, tutored, taught to use his psionic powers and experimented on. When he was 9 years old, the planet was visited by an all-Vulcan Federation ship USS T'Vran. Having been informed about the existence of the research, the crew visited the facility and reported it as inhumane, carrying out unapproved experiments on artificially bred Federation species. For the sake of good interplanetary relationships, the facility was eventually closed down on request of the Federation, Savir was relocated to Vulcan and placed into foster care, where he spent the next 8 years.

He was quickly able to understand that the way he had lived until that point was not considered normal or healthy in most societies, however it had seemed completely normal and acceptable to him. This fascinating discovery marked his life-long journey to understand the inner workings of individual humanoid minds and interpersonal relationships, as well as entire cultures and societies.Savir has extraordinary telepathic and empathic skills, since his genetic make-up was assembled for that very purpose.Fitting into the logic driven Vulcan society was not difficult for him, but at the same time he did not feel like he actually belonged there and he was able to feel the actual emotions of many of his peers, hidden under layers of indifference.

At 17, after finishing the lower degree of education, he surprised his caretakers by refusing to enter the Vulcan Academy of Science. Instead, he expressed interest in studying on Betazed in order to explore the other half of his genome. He found the society rather chaotic and without inhibitions, which was both refreshing and fascinating to study. At the same time, the constant flow of emotions shared freely exhausted and distracted him. Again, he was able to pretend to fit in quite well, while he really did not. Based on previous experiences, he transferred to Starfleet Academy three years later, having concluded that he was too different and detached from any kind of society, and that he would thrive most in an environment made up of many different species, united by the common goal of exploring cultures in various corners of the Universe. So far, the years at the Academy and the brief time spent serving on a space station provided him with ample opportunity of doing just that. By now, he is quite an expert on the inner workings of others, but his self image is hazy at best - a trait carefully hidden behind a composed exterior.

Other Skills: Basic martial arts, piano, singing

Specialisation: Counsellor, Medical officer

Relevant Interests: Telepathic techniques, culture, sociology, psychology, music, compulsive reading

Service History: Savir spent six years in the academy, studying a double major in Medicine and Counseling. His grades have never been less than excellent. Upon graduation, he received a placement as a counsellor on the Federation space station DS5, where he has been dealing mostly with individuals trying to come to terms with their tragic experiences from the Dominion wars and Starfleet officers with a serious burn out due to decades of exhausting service. He received a number of positive references for healing PTSD in several individuals through telepathy and was recently noticed for his diplomatic efforts, especially in contact with a previously unknown species, whose members found their way to DS5, but were only able to communicate by the means of different sequences tones. Savir managed to analyze the melodic patterns and was able to establish successful communication. That, in combination with his early experience with an avian species, landed him the promotion to USS Vigilance manned by a Kraekiran captain.

PERSONAL DETAILS
Name: Varra Orc-Kel

Age: 22

Sex: Female

Gender: Female

Species: Vokkan

Species Details: While generally similar to humans having same number of fingers, toes, eyes, ears, nose and mouth there are major differences. One slight difference they have are their larger ears. Which allow them to have much better hearing than most species but, still no were near as good as a Ferengi's. Another difference are their skulls and horns which are incredibly hard. You could hit them with a hammer or bash them with a bat and they would be ok. Many believe that the horns and hard heads are leftover from a more primitive time. When their species would butt heads for the right to mate. Vokkan eyes are also very different having two different iris colours with one outer which be any number of colours, but the central one is always yellow/amber. It is also noted that the Vokkan eyes can see in much lower light levels than humans, however they struggle if brightness is much above clear summers day on earth. They also have two genders just like humans and both nurse and give birth to live young.

Internally they have even more vast differences to humans though still share some similarity’s them and other species. In fact they have blue blood which is remarkably similar to that of Andorians. Also another similarity shared with are their higher metabolic rates which are only slightly less than an Andorians. However unlike an Andorians intravenous injections seem work on the Vokkan, however they do not have the same tolerance for heat as Andorians do. But they are just as sooted to the cold. From here their internal biology becomes very unusual. They have three stomachs allowing them to digest anything organic even bark of trees. Like dinosaurs they have hollow bones allowing for much faster growth rate. With maturation only taking thirteen years. Though counter to what federation scientists thought at first the Vokkan do not lay eggs and in fact give birth to live young like humans. Another similarity to dinosaurs and birds are their air sacs. These increase the Vokkan respiratory capacity allowing them to breath a much thinner atmosphere.

Evolvoing on the planet Vok on what would be considered by the Federation as a class L world. Vok was a harsh world with seventy five percent of the surface covered, by the north and south ice caps. Only a small band of land was habitable at the equator. Life on the planet was limited with only the first plants and funguses having evolved. Insects and dinosaur like life was also starting to appear on land. The only large scale animal on the planet was the ancestor to the Vokkan species. It had a hard head and horns that faced upwards. Diet has been a controversial subject as most believe it initially only at bark and other plant life. However others argue that early signs of predatory teeth starting to form clearly mean it was omnivorous. The second theory has much merit as modern Vokkan will eat anything. Also the reason another creature of similar size did not evolve is still a mystery but theories are abundant.

After this primitive stage Vokkan history becomes much more interesting and unique. Since as soon as the Vokkan started to become intelligent, they also developed more complex emotions as a side effect. Eventually they evolved enough intelligence to become truly sentient. Originally one male would have a vaste herd or clan of females, but as they became smarter males selected less and less females. Up until the point where a male would only take one or two females as his mates. Thus with no need to compete for females the Vokkan lost all need for conflict. There were simply not enough Vokkan to around to be hinderance on each other’s tribes. Being able to eat anything meant food was never an issue and houses were created using local resources. Eventually the wise men of all the Vokkan tribes met to form a council. This would be the first planetary government formed, however it would go through many changes over the years. It was also at this time that the myth of the rouge tribe was born. Supposedly all those who broke serious laws would be thrown into the caves of the underworld, then the gate sealed behind them. Myth has it that the rouge tribe seeked revenge on the surface. Many claims over the years where made about people seeing them, but no hard evidence was ever found that they existed, or that people had been thrown underground. Aparrantly it was just a myth that no one remembers how it began.

It took many thousands of years but, eventually they achieved space flight. With no war to rapidly speed along progress the Vokkan to took a very long time to advance. However unlike other species no information was ever lost to was. Essentially they faced no setbacks in their advancement, so they just kept improving at a steady rate. Now able to make detailed observations of the universe and their planet thanks to space travel things looked bright at first. Unfortunately it was not meant to last, as scientists realised something was wrong after the first probes returned data. It was announced a moth later that their world was slowly dying, though why exactly their world was dying remains a mystery. Some say the command ships of the fleets sent out had the data stored in them, though all of them are assumed lost. However the why doesn’t matter so much as what they did after finding out. The Vokkan poured all the planets resources and minds together to find a way to escape their planet.

It was almost to late by the time anyone found the solution, but they had achieved warp speed for thirty seconds. Unfortunately it still wasn’t particularly fast only managing a warp factor of 0.9 after refinement. It would take years to reach the nearest stars at the current speeds they could achieve. However it was the best they had and they were completely out of time to develop a better engine. As the Vokkan started to build their ships they discovered another problem. The size of the warp field they could create current fusion reactor technology would severely limit the size their ships could be. It was calculated that the maximum crew size would be around a hundred people per ship. Any extra room would be used for all the other essentials such as waste recycling, mining equipment, refineries and machine shops. The idea being if they didn’t find a habitable planet then the ships would mine what they needed and refuel before moving on. It was calculated they could go hop from star to star, with them maybe having to stop at a rouge planet or asteroid inbetween. No one ever considered alien a likely threat, seeing as no contact had been made, the theory was that they were in an empty part of the galaxy. However asteroids were a considerable threat so, the ships were equipped with polarised hulls and nuclear torpedoes. Along with some conventional mining lasers. It was estimated a ship could survive on its own for a decade before needing to restock its supplies.

It is part of the historical record that not all the ships were finished in time. Boarding was apparently rushed with millions trying to get onto the ships. In the chaos they had to board people onto the wrong ships in order to get the ships fully crewed and away fast enough. It is estimated that only forty percent of those supposed to be boarded were put on the correct ships. With a further twenty percent being boarded on the wrong ship. The rest were people who were allowed through to fill a position someone else hadn’t shown up for. However it was likely that person was in the crowds fighting to get to the front. It took days to get everyone in order and on the right ships but, it was worth the effort with all ships now ready to head out into the void. Travelling out from their star system in five different directions to the nearest star systems.

Reaching the nearest star stystems several years later none of the fleets reported finding a habitable world. Though this was expected it was a huge blow to moral. However the plan was still in place. So from these star systems they split up yet again to search the next few stars. Eventually after fifty years and splitting up a further six times they could not continue as they had been. If they went any further they would not be able to contact their furthest ships. Plus they had another serious problem with one of their fleets having been attacked by an advanced alien ship. Were it not for their superior numbers the fleet says it would have been no match for the aliens. The council agreed quickly that there was no choice but to continue on, but they also made clear that the fleets should not split up to much, less they be picked off. For the most part fleets close together managed to stay in touch for a while. However after decades they lost both ships and entire fleets. Wether it was because of running out of fuel, or aliens it didn’t matter, as everyship gone meant less of a chance for their people to rise again.

It was six years ago when the Vokkan people encountered the Federation for the first time. The Vokkan in charge of the fleet attacked the Federation Nebula Class ship out of pure instinct expecting an attack. It was only after his fleet had been shooting at the vessel for a good minute did he realise something was off. Though the enemy ship had raised it shields the vessel did not return fire with its advanced weapons. Ordering his vessels to cease fire they continued to swarm around the Federation starship. It took over an hour for the Federation to work out how to open a channel and even longer to translate the Vokkan language. The first two days had to be spoken in only rudimentary Vokkan. Thus causing a few incidents due to miss translations by the universal translator and a few crewmen miss pronunciation. Thankfully after the second day the universal translator with some help deciphered the language. After which a healthy dialogue was established, with the Vokkan making it clear all they wanted was a home. Though unsure as to were the Vokkan would end up the Federation promised to resettle them.

After a few weeks of waiting in space going through possible options several groups had started to form. One group didn’t want to give up wandering space but, they planned to only travel in the safety of Federation space. Another group had decided on an L class planet, which would be a bit warm for the Vokkan with only twenty percent of the ice caps covering the planet. However to them it would be reality made into paradise. The last group loved the ideals of the Federation reminding the Vokkan of themselves and what they might have become given more time. Many wanted to settle at the heart of the Federation and be a part of it even in a small way. However this group would have to wait longer for an answer as space on Earth had to be well managed. However this wasn’t all that big of a problem, as the Federation engineers were still modifying the Vokkan warp engines. Seeing as the Vokkan would not abbondon their ships feeling to much attachment, but they couldn’t travel at warp 0.9 as it would take to long. It would end up being a month before they could all get underway, during which time several more Vokkan fleets had been tracked down by Federation scout ships.

Arriving a Federation outpost the Vokkan were treated to party on their arrival. Initially the stop had only been made to let the Vokkan get ready, rest and to acclimatise to the Federation. However after their arrival there were numerous questions and tests. Majority of Vokkan ended up having to stay for over a month. After this the only Vokkan left were those who wanted to go to Earth. It took over a month but eventually the Vokkan were allocated some space to settle on Earth. Although they had hoped to settle in San Francisco it wasn’t possible so they had to settle for a small patch of land in eastern Canada. Which they didn’t mind to much seeing as the weather was nice for them and San Francisco was only a short shuttle ride away. For the most part the Vokkan settled in well though there were some minor problems in the beginning. Vokkan teenagers would often take a one of the Vokkan ships out for a spin. Occasionally they would even venture round the star system, getting them into trouble with Starfleet. Especially when the Vokkan came across some hot shot cadet and challenged him to a race or a simple follow the leader. Numerous times these incidents have ended up with damage being caused to both vessels.

Since arriving almost four years ago the Vokkan have thrived. With both the Earth and New Vok colonies growing well and contributing to society. The Vokkan that chose to stay in space are doing okay. A few of them have even managed to modify their ships to achieve warp three. What is even more encouraging is the beacon set up to draw in more Vokkan, has succeeded with a few ships responding back. However many feel great sadness for those who didn’t make it. Only several thousand Vokkan made it to safety in the Federation, with majority of their people unaccounted for or dead. They all pray that more of their race is out there somewhere safe. They even have a special ritual they perform involving candles, which they perform on the exact day they left their planet.

Ethnicity: Varra is part of one the smallest minorities in here species. This is due to her having two very rare traits. For one Varra has four horns while over eighty percent of her people only have two. Secondly she is part of five percent minority who have the same outer eye colour.
Appearance:
7b9762804162d2005cba604908211f93.jpg

Personality: Overall Varra is someone who likes to have fun and try’s not to stress out to much. Due to her seeking out fun Varra loves trying new things as when she was a child all see had to do were the same few things over and over again. When it comes to duty Varra try’s to stay focused taking her job very seriously. When meeting new alien species Varra is always wary mainly due to her early life when her species had to cross hostile space. It is also worth noting that she has a violent temper though it’s hard to get her wound up enough to explode. She will also protect those she loves at any cost. At times she can come up with brilliant ideas though to most they seem reckless and suicidal with some accusing Varra of being a bit mad. Many believe its true as she always has an unnerving smile while on duty.

Summary of Positive Traits: Curious, dutiful, loyal, confidence, nerves of steel, relaxed personality, unconventional thinker.

Summary of Character Flaws: Over curiosity, dreadful temper, takes to many risks and always suspects the worse from new people.

Biography: Varra was born in the depths of space on one of her people’s the rundown starships. Which her entire people now called home and had lived their entire lives in. In fact everyone in the fleet had been born during their journey. Not a single sole is left from those original pioneers who left Vok. It was a very interesting upbringing as the children were the responsibility of the entire crew. A few members treated Varra poorly still having prejudiced views towards those with four horns. Though most had lost these biases and were incredibly nice to Varra. Her mother was an engineer and her farther was the first officer.

When Varra was only five she had to shadow the adults in order for her to know how to look after the ship. It wasn’t exactly a fun childhood with her only getting to play with her makeshift toys one hour before bedtime. On occasion she would read one of the stories that had been saved in the ships database. Thousands had been saved in order to preserve their culture and history. However the majority of the books were for adults and very few children’s books had been considered worthy enough to save.

At age thirteen Varra had reached the age of maturity for her species. Thus under the new laws Varra had to go through the sorting process. The captains from every ship would select who they wanted from those who reached maturity. Usually they selected those with skills in areas they were lacking, though sometimes it was just to mix the gene pool. It was tough on families who would only see their children on a comm screen from now on. Varra got a lucky break as she ended up being the helmsmen on one of the nicer ships. The ship Varra transferred onto had lost their best helsmen in the last alien attack. However like most of her people she would have to muck in and do more than just be a helmsmen.

At age fifth teen Varra lost her parents in an alien attack that destroyed three of her people’s ships. The ship Varra’s parents were on had been severely damaged unable to warp out. Keeping the enemy ship distracted they managed to cover the retreat of the fleet. It was too difficult for Varra to abandon her parents ship knowing that her parents would die. So Varra had to be sedated while someone else took the ship to warp. When she woke up the captain had a long talk with her explaining that everyone had lost someone, but the big picture was for their race to survive. She was allowed to go back on duty, but she never fully got over it. At one point a weak after the incident she had been found sat in an airlock crying. Once a year had passed Varra seemed to be better.

By sixteen Varra was now finally somewhat back to normal. She found taking care of the young ones to be very uplifting. However things were rather dire as the fleet had lost contact with three other fleets. This meant they were only in contact with two other fleets. After a few months at maximum warp they were at the edge of a star system mining asteroids. That is until a massive starship warped in close to the fleet spooking everyone into action. No one even had to give the order to fire as by this point they were all expecting the inevitable attack. They didn’t realise the Federation ship was just curious as to why the Vokkan were there. Varra was at the tactical station when the incident happened. Soon both Varra and everyone else realised that the enemy ship wasn’t firing back nor were it’s shields going down. The Vokkan fleet commander ordered a ceasefire while waiting to see what the alien ship would do.

Eventually the aliens managed to open a channel. It took a while for the Vokkan to trust these aliens but eventually they slowly began to trust them. Varra was fascinated when crews from the alien ship beamed aboard her ship to help them modify the engines. What was astonishing is that these strangers were not all the same kind of alien, at least that’s what Varra assumed. Varra didn’t entirely trust them at first constantly watching these aliens in her spare time. At one point she saved one them from getting a nasty radiation burn. After which Varra talked with the human for about an hour until it was time for the alien to leave.

As time went on Varra liked these Federation types the more she found out. It was even more amazing when Varra and the rest of her people were docked at a Federation outpost. The station was much bigger than anything her species had ever made. Varra was almost brought to tears when the leader of the fleet announced that the Federation would help them settle a new home. The search for a new world was finally over. The new world that had been chosen was beautiful but, not all wanted to leave space anymore. Varra didn’t want to go either but not for the same reason. She and a small number of her people wanted to live at the core of the Federation. It was a long wait for the Federations response but, Varra was kept busy talking with various Starfleet officers or just reading. When she found the holodeck she was completely speechless. She was truly grateful when their petition to settle on Earth was approved by the Federation.

Initially Varra settled with the others of her species who chose Earth as their home. She would often borrow one of her people’s ships for a little joyride. One day she came across a Federation shuttle and was hailed by the small ship. Turns out it was a cadet piloting the shuttle. After talking with the pilot Varra eventually managed to goad the cadet into seeing who was the better pilot. That is until an instructor came along and ordered both vessels to land at Starfleet Academy. Initially Varra was berated by several officers for a good few hours. Before Varra left the instructor who had caught Varra complimented her on her flying skills. He even offered to sponsor her application to Starfleet if she was ever interested in joining. Varra took the instructors hand so quickly it took a second for it to register with the instructor.

At the academy Varra was fairly average passing many of the more technical courses barely by the skin of her teeth. Her best technical corse was basic engineering which had a lot of new things for Varra to learn, but many components while more advanced did a similar job to the more simple Vokkan parts. Varra excelled at the more practical courses being one of the top pilots in her class. She was also above average when it came to various tactical courses. Among the over cadets she was fairly popular as long as you weren’t in a shuttle she was flying. Many called her shuttle the vomit can. It didn’t take her to long to graduatinh after only three years. Varra chocked it down to experience having lived and worked on a starship her entire life. Though along the way Varra had caused some trouble. Also the infamous Kobayashi Maru test proved Varra very capable at command, however she still didn’t beat the simulated Klingons but she made the computer work for it.

When Varra was posted to her first ship she was amazed. While most wouldn’t be impressed with old bucket of bolts but, to Varra it would be the most advanced ship she had served on. The captain always said Varra was a good officer and never much of a problem. From time to time she needed a light scolding for her actions. Once she even got caught with a bottle of Romulan Ale. At the time she was having a game of poker with some of junior officers. But it was soon broken up with them all having to spend away in the brig. On top of that they all had to sort through the entire ships cargo twice.

It was noted that she served particularly well when the ship came under attack from pirates. The pirates were after dilithium ore filling their cargo holds. With some fancy manoeuvres Varra managed to save the ship along with help of her fellow officers. However she did end up damaging the engines having to push them to far beyond safety limits in order to get enough speed to evade.

After the battle the ship had to limp back to the nearest station for repairs. Starfleet gave the entire crew leave so Varra headed home to Canada. Her people had a lovely little settlement surrounded by their old ships. The ships were looking even more worse for wear than when she left almost four years ago. It was nice staying for a while catching up with her cousin and her family. However the break was cut short when she was given orders to get a shift on to Mars. Apparently she had been reassigned. Varra was one of the few skilled officers left and available to fill the Vigilance’s crew roster. She was shaking with excitement the moment she laid eyes on her new ship and home.

The J'naii are a warp capable species with advanced science and medicine with non-hostile interplanetary relationships, even though they never became a member of the Federation due to their cultural differences. They consider themselves a free and open society and by all measurements, an enlightened race. In an early stage of their evolution the J'naii species had two sexes, but eventually evolved physically into an androgynous race without the male/female differentiation. The current consensus dictates that the idea of gender is viewed as both repulsive and primitive and sexual congress does not take place even between partners. Reproduction is accomplished with the fetus incubated in fibrous husks which both parents inseminate. A neuter pronoun is used in lieu of "he" and "she". (Id-Idre-Ids) Those who lean towards a particular gender or have interest in exploring sexual relationships live in secret, afraid of the ridicule and shame their culture would cast upon them. Such behavior is considered to be a deviation or a form of insanity and those accused of it must undergo a court hearing followed by treatment called psychotectic therapy that amounts to brainwashing. Should this process not be successful, the individual is cast out of society.
Ethnicity: the J'naii see this as irrelevant; there are no great ethnic differences among them
Appearance: Humanoid, with typical facial ridges of the J'naii on the bridge of the nose, forehead and in place of eyebrows. Like most of the J'naii, Taris is lithe-bodied and graceful in movement an in addition to ids finely chiseled, delicate facial features. Ids hair is naturally black, but sometimes dyed to different colors. Taris's off-duty wardrobe consists of a mixture of vaguely feminine, non-distinctive and masculine clothing and id also has two sets of uniforms, although generally prefers the male variant. On their home world,J'naii are not allowed to use make-up and keep their hair long or arrange it elaborately. Ever since being given freedom of expression, Taris experiments with hair styles and sometimes wears simple make-up, although id does keep its hair reasonably short.
Taris.jpg
Personality:
Taris has a mostly optimistic, laid back personality and can be often seen with a smile upon ids lips. Id is ready to befriend any of his colleagues immediately, however id is also a person who values privacy and is deliberately vague about ids past, while also respecting the privacy of others. There is one thing that really makes idre tick: when someone offends or mocks id for ids non-standard gender or sexual behavior.
As a subordinate, Taris treats superior officers with utmost respect, unless their behavior endangers the ship and its crew, in which case id will step up. In a leading position, id doesn't panic when a danger occurs and tries to motivate others to stay calm and focused.Id takes great pride and joy in being a Starfleet officer and is still very grateful to the Federation for offering an asylum and providing idre with the amazing opportunity. Id is therefore incredibly loyal to Starfleet and does not mind risking life in order to save ids crew members.
Taris is is highly organised and likes efficiency, which can be seen on ids work performance as well as ids rooms, always kept perfectly tidy. However, that doesnJ't mean id never slips. Not being able to properly explore his sexuality back on J'naii, id has been a bit overzealous to catch up on that.Id is not flirtatious to the point of awkwardness/desperation, but when things click, id will never pass up a chance to hit the hay, and id also likes ids drink occasionally - another thing there wasnJ't enough of back home. Due to ids family wealth, id enjoys a touch of luxury and fills ids rooms with expensive clothing/hobby items, art and memorabilia acquired on various planets.
Summary of Positive Traits:
- Responsible and organized
- Amicable and approachable
- Respectful and sensitive in dealing with other cultures
- Efficient problem solver
- Loyalty
Summary of Character Flaws:
- Adventurous romantic life
- Somewhat materialistic
- Easy to offend when sensitive subjects and personal insecurities are mentioned
- Likes to have a drink too much when given the chance
Biography:Taris left idres home at the age of 19, having been disowned by idres family for being a “deviant”. Already in ids childhood, id occasionally expressed character traits viewed as masculine, which later grew into avid interest in most societal taboos and the urgent need to explore this part of ids self. Mindful of the dangers such tendencies could pose, Taris tried to put up a normal front, finding an outlet for his desires in an underground group of subculture youths with similar leanings, which eventually caused ids downfall.
Id was brought up in a respectable, wealthy family and never lacked anything material. The family owned a large stretch of land as well as renowned stables with pure blood d´hana, equestrian animals that could be ridden in the same manner as Earth ´s horses. Mastering that skill and taking part on semi-professional competitions became one of TarisJ's favorite past time activities. Naturally, Taris has also been granted the best education and ids parents were very proud when id was accepted into the J'nnai space program. There, id intended to focus on piloting and command, hoping to use ids family money to buy a small merchant vessel after graduation.
That never happened, because the beginning of id J's second year, one of ids classmates found out about ids participation in the secret group and immediately brought the matter to the the attention of the dean of the faculty, who decided that Taris should be locked in ids rooms until authorities pick him up and bring id to court. In fear of consequences id knew would follow, Taris climbed out of the window and run away, using all ids money to buy idself a passage on a foreign ship.
Id never talks about the hardships that followed, the abuse id suffered at the hands of previously unknown species and the kind of work he had to do in order to survive in the next two years, before finally meeting a landing party of five Starfleet officers and asking for asylum in the Federation. One thing is for certain, though: the experince changed idre and gave idre a lesson in humility.
At the age of 21,Taris was granted admission at the Starfleet Academy, where it could continue ids studies and the rest is... not history, but Starfleet Records below.

Service History: Taris completed ids major in Command at the Starfleet Academy in 6 years with flying colors and immediately received a placement in the administration of Starbase 343 in the Beta Quadrant. As the starbase in question was close to the Klingon territory, Taris often had to participate on resolving frictions of various intensity and played an important role in keeping relationships with their more violent neighbors as peaceful as possible. Most notably, id is known for organizing a successful rescue mission of an away team that included two of his superior officers, which went missing while exploring a nebula. This brought him a promotion to Duty Officer on the USS Apollo-D, where it was ids responsibility to take over any bridge station that had been vacated. The varying responsibilities represented a new challenge and hopefully prepared idre for whatever is awaiting idre on board of the USS Vigilance.
Commendations and Awards: None
Condemnations and Forfeitures: A spotless record.

PERSONAL DETAILS
Name: Mercer Bradfield
Age: 37
Sex: Male
Gender: Heterosexual
Species: Former-Borg Human
Species Details: (N/A)
Ethnicity: Mercer is a British-American, with more roots in the American continent. Caucasian.
Appearance: Mercer Bradfield stands at around 1.9m tall, and is rather muscular and well-proportioned partially due to Borg enhancements. While his doctors were able to remove most of his implants, Starfleet medicine hadn't progressed enough for them to remove some of them, including the frame and nanoprobe tubules on his right hand, a star-shaped device on the right of his neck and a small tube-like implant in front of his left ear.
Personality: Mercer was reported to have been a very content and approachable lieutenant prior to his loss and unknown assimilation on the Enterprise-D when she first encountered the Borg. Ever since being found and treated near Earth where his Borg cube was destroyed, he had been nothing but abrasive, severe, borderline abusive, hateful, spiteful and rage-filled.
Summary of Positive Traits:
- Efficient: He runs his station with reportedly near-perfect efficiency
- Effective: He gets the job done, and more.
- Hard-working: Having no use for recreation and socialising, he spends much of his waking moments doing his job.
- Intelligent and knowledgeable: He has a working knowledge of the Borg and many races. He knows Starfleet like the back of his hand, and he knows very well how to use his knowledge, for good or ill.
Summary of Character Flaws:
- Anti-social: He doesn't get along with anyone nor does he ever try, unless they are his superiors.
- Borderline Abusive: As a First Officer and even before that, it is common for him to shout or shove his subordinates about, punish them severely and disproportionately, and threaten their emotional well-being and career.
- Manipulative: However, he is smart to attribute it to work and deficiencies in his subordinates that his superiors rarely take action against him. He would launch in what amounts to Borg filibustering to defend himself and his actions that his superiors rarely try. He does the same to his subordinates, using all manners of tactics to prevent them from retaliating or even speaking up against him.
- Incredibly Rude: He has no respect for social norms, and no desire to learn them.
- Tragic Past: Psychiatrists note that his behaviour can be attributed to his traumatic experience with the Borg, Borg brainwashing, the loss of his newly-wed wife, who is still in the Borg Collective, and his belief that Starfleet, as well as the crew of the Enterprise-D, betrayed him, and are hypocritical. The fact that his original crew was too far away to take him back and help rehabilitate him exacerbated this, and other psychiatric personnel who tried weren't up to the job.

The armor is seamlessly attached to his skin.

Biography: The Zetans are an enigmatic race. Older than Iconians, Perservers and even the Q, the Zetans and the universe have a long and intertwined relationship. They claim to be the first space faring species and the first to develop Phase Shift Technology as well as the Multidimensional Slip Drive. They claim to have helped the Persevers seed the galaxy of life, albeit begrudgingly, as they tend to dislike other lifeforms. Their top offender being humanity.

Most Zetans view humans as a truly lesser form of life. A story many like to tell is that when the Perservers decided to grant life to Sol’s system, the Zetans criticized them for “giving Protozoa an ego”. They claim around that time they became fed up with the universe becoming too populated and withdrew from the universe altogether using phase shifting technology. The eons that followed, the Zetans would occasionally reappear and see how the universe fared in their absence.

Around the late 23rd century, the Zetans encountered the Federation. They were rather shocked to discover that the Protozoa they dismissed long ago had become one of the apex species in the galaxy. A small conflict on their homeworld of Zeta Prime, also known as “Nibiru”, forced the Zetans to pull the planet from its pocket dimension and back to the universe. In the end, the Federation was instrumental in helping save the Zetan species. They offered the Federation the chance to add the Zetans to their organization, under the condition that Zetan technology was to remain in their hands only. The Federation approved of this, just happy to have an ally in the old race that they once cherished in popular culture. An exchange program was set up, with one Federation officer being placed on the Zetan flagship, Xir, while the Zetans sent over their “worst member in existence”. The Zetan given was a friendly fellow and chose the designation of “Gray”, in honor of the human term.
