Appearance: Most have a tan skin, but it depends on their 'spirit animal', they are varied. Some have cat ears, eyes and a tail, others have snake scales, others have fins.
Home planet: An unnamed jungle planet
Abilities: It varies, but all are super agile, quiet and experts at climbing even the hardest trees, they can all see in the dark
Elders: They lost most of their abilities, they still have the features, but cannot change into their animal anymore
Adult: They can change into their animal and have the features, they can also change the size of the animal when they turn
Teens: Cannot change the size of the animals, still gaining the animal features, but they can change into all the animals until the age of 15, then they undergo the trial to find their animal
Children: Very limited abilities, can only see in the dark

Description:
The shapeshifters are at warp capability, having ships that vary from shuttles to heavy warships, they live in solitude and the only ones off-planet are the ones protecting it, they have cloaking technology and a variety of weapons available, they're trained from a young age and easily take care off each intruder on their planet, they have no idea that there's a war going on, but they know of the Borg and how dangerous they can be, they would rather die then become assimilated.

Race Name: Omegons (Plural) Omegon (Singular)
Appearance:
574882

This is not their natural form, but protective suits they are forced to wear outside of their own universe to prevent an annihiliation reaction. The staff is also used as an energy weapon but it also modulates their annihilation neutralizer field.

Sex: The Omegons are a genderless species that reporduces through a proecdure known as biodata recombination where 2 or more individuals fuse and rewrite their biodata to create a new lifeform. They have no concept of sex, be it gender or the act. Biodata Recombination is also known as looming.

Homeworld: Unknown, due to not inhabiting our known universe but instead reside in a universe of antimatter, they call what we would consider a "homeworld" Nexus Point Alpha-1, a cosmic string where their ancestors gained sentience.

Age of Species: 7 billion years with multiple empires in it's history though no violations of human rights and only 1 Civil War against a turannical and cruel emperor Terianan 4/Delta. and excursions into the normal matter universe, they reached out to the Federation when a disease made of neutrally-charged matter that could exist in both our universe and theirs infected them.

Technology Level: Highly Advanced due to showing complete control over quantum singularities. When they were threatened by the Borg, they drove them off with their superior technology using by creating a beam of compressed gravitrons that tore the vessel apart using their technology to focus the gravitational forces of a black hole into weapons, their ships don't use warp drive but instead a gravity drive, bending spacetime using a controlled singularity although doing so temporarily makes it impossible to use warp drive when an Omegon Gravity Drive has been activated due to the tears in subspace it creates, preventing a stable warp field from being generated, it takes about 2 days for subspace to fully repair.

Society: Previously 100,000 years ago relative to our time, the Seventh Omegon Empire fell due to internal economic collapse and the Omegon Conglomeraton took over as the ruling body and adopted a democratic process abandoning their prevous attempts at invasion of our universe and instead of focusing on war, refoucsed their efforts on science and the advancement of their power needs through drawing in positive matter from our universe to react with the antimatter of their own. 90,000 years prior they learnt how to control their environment by manipulating the singularities of black holes, the gateways from their universe to ours. They began utilizing the near infinite gravity to force nucleic splitting, ripping apart matter at a level beyond the subatomic and harvesting the immense energies released by doing so. The artifical singularities aboard their vessels use this process called quantum failure induction to power the fields that manipulate the gravity drive. They denote their classes by Types, Type 1 being what the Federation would consider small shuttlecraft and Type 6 full-on warships with gravitron beams and torpedos that create minature black holes since red matter is readily available in their universe and their higher-class ships have farms that produce more of it. They have an ultimate superweapon in the Stellar Degeneracy Cannon that compresses matter into Neutron Stars then feeds it mass from a decaying singularity, firing the proto-neutron star at ships which causes fatal damage to Borg cubes, the intense field destroying their shielding and the mass crushing it.

Relationships:

Borg - Hostile, the ships that cannot outright destroy Borg vessels with their weaponry either return to their universe or the singularity is detonated to destroy the vessel and the Borg ship and to make sure their technology isn't assimilated.

Klingon Empire - Neutral, The Omegon Conglomeration has had no official contact with them although there is some tension between the two species as the Omegon gravometric scanners cut through Klingon cloaking technology.

Romulan Star Empire - Hostile after a D'Deridex class ship destroyed a Type 2 Science Vessel, the Omegon Conglomeration has reacted with extreme violence, destroying entire star systems and forcing the Star Empire to surrender after destroying a significant part of their fleet, further slowing repairs from the Dominion War and threatening to turn the star of the Romulus/Remus system into a black hole. The Tal'Shiar created the virus and since the Conglomeration discovered this, they considered it an attempt at genocide and are preparing to destroy Romulus as a result, with the Federation asking them to back down.

United Federation of Planets - Good after they assisted the Conglomeration with curing the Tal'Shiar Virus with the Omegon's being in discussion about joining the Federation, they have an unofficial embassy on Vulcan.

The Dominion - None, the two haven't encountered each other.

Ichthydragons

Ichthydragons are a very rare, small triphibious saurian. In the air they fly well enough. In the water they are graceful, able to spread their wings, or fold them in and move like a penguin. On land they waddle.

Their clutches and eggs are comparable to ducks. However they will not breed in captivity. The reason was originally confusing. The creatures are very elusive, shy and avoid humans in the wild. The simple fact is that they have six sexes. They can be imprinted on an empathic individual. Doing so will alter to match their sex and physiology to adapt if that is possible. (An incompatible physiology will simply not bond. But Tidbit is female and shares the same diet as Edi.)

Fully grown an ichthydragon will reach about 12 inches long from nose to base of tail. The tail is long and prehensile. They have a camouflage ability comparable to Predator, but with the ability to become luminescent. When hiding they can practically disappear when not moving.

Shinus Thintustus: They absolutely love shiny sparkly things. They are natural thieves and will take just about anything shiny and hide it in their “horde”. They can’t really tell the difference between glass and diamond - or aluminum and gold. If it dangles and moves, all the better. Brightly colored items small enough to take are great. (They would LOVE M&M’s.)

Senses: Their senses are superb, especially hearing and sight - both in range and sensitivity. They are perfect mimics, though they don’t do voices. They will often mimic the most frightening sound they know when they feel threatened. Tidbit has a bad habit of mimicking a comm badge when she wants attention.

Their strongest attack is a weak acid spittle that might briefly blind someone. They use this to stun bugs in the wild. Their bite isn’t very strong - enough to crush a cricket or berry. But they snap, so best to feed them with food in an open hand. They tend to eat greedily, so it is wise to feed them very small bite sized (for them) morsels. Edi always has a pouch of Tidbit tidbits.

Empathy: They can generally sense hostility. This gives them an early warning system against predators in the wild. They can transmit their feelings - though this is no more sophisticated than: hunger, “oh, shiny thing”, “scary thing”. No it won’t be in words, just impressions.

Enlisted
Enlisted personnel generally attend Basic Training, a technical school for their job specialty, and Starship Orientation. This is NOT the Academy. This whole series generally lasts no more than a year. A few programs may last a little longer.

Crewman Recruit (CR) - Boot Camp
Crewman Apprentice (CA) - OJT Period (up to 30 day, may be skipped based on experience)
Crewman (CMN)
Petty Officer 3rd Class (PO3)
Petty Officer 2nd Class (PO2)
Petty Officer 1st Class (PO1)
Chief Petty Officer (CPO)
Senior Chief Petty Officer (SCPO)
Master Chief Petty Officer (MCPO)
*It is possible to skip the early ranks for critical jobs. The US military does this for mission critical jobs that are hard to fill.
Cadet ranks
Cadet ranks were held by those attending Starfleet Academy during their training to become commissioned officers. Minimum age to apply to the academy is 16. The selection criteria is variable - extremely tough for humans. Some allowances are made for newer Federation member worlds. Members of non Federation worlds require a sponsor. (Example would be Nog, a Ferengi, sponsored by Sisco. Imagine the universe in which Nog made it in on the first try and Wesley Crusher did not.)

Cadet 1st class
Cadets of this rank were fourth-year students at Starfleet Academy. After graduation, these cadets were granted the rank of ensign.
Cadet 2nd class
Cadets of this rank were third-year students at Starfleet Academy.
Cadet 3rd class
Cadets of this rank were second-year students at Starfleet Academy.
Cadet 4th class
Cadets of this rank were first-year students at Starfleet Academy.

Officers
All officers must graduate from Starfleet Academy, typically a 4 year program.

Ensign (ENS)
The most junior officer rank. It was the rank bestowed on newly-commissioned officers when they graduated from Starfleet Academy. Ensigns who had distinguished themselves in their academy class or on duty could be posted as a senior bridge officer. A typical officer spent approximately three years at the rank of ensign.

Lieutenant Junior Grade (LTJG)
The officer rank immediately above ensign, and below lieutenant. It was also the rank bestowed on medical doctors and counselors (but not nurses) upon completion of their studies and training at Starfleet Medical Academy or elsewhere.

Lieutenant (Lt)
The officer rank immediately above lieutenant junior grade, and below lieutenant commander. Some advanced Starfleet training programs, such as Advanced Tactical Training, commissioned their graduates at this rank.

Lieutenant Commander (LTCD)
The officer rank immediately above lieutenant, and below commander. Officers with this rank could serve as the executive officer of smaller vessels. In some cases, a lieutenant commander could also serve as the commanding officer of a smaller vessel, such as the USS Defiant.

Commander (CDR)
The officer rank immediately above lieutenant commander, and below captain. Typical assignments at this rank included executive officer of larger vessels, space station commander. The rank of commander was also available to chief medical officers and ship counselors who passed the Bridge Officer's Test.

Captain (Capt)
The most senior regular officer rank below flag officer, it was most often held by starship and starbase commanders. Captains could also serve as administrative adjutants beneath admirals. In rare circumstances, officers with the rank of captain held other positions aboard a starship, such as "Captain of Engineering" Montgomery Scott aboard the USS Excelsior, and later Scott and Spock aboard the Enterprise-A. Phillipa Louvois held the rank of captain while working as a prosecutor under the office of the Judge Advocate General at Starbase 173.

Fleet Captain
Fleet captain was a title bestowed on senior Starfleet captains. It was a rare distinction, held by particularly distinguished captains. The title of fleet captain was held by former Enterprise Captain Christopher Pike in the year 2266. (Not even Kirk achieved this title. Most skip this rank.)

Flag Officers
Admirals in Starfleet were described as the flag officers, a term held over from naval tradition. These ranks constituted the highest authorities of Starfleet Command. These officers are never assigned to a starship permanently, but may post to one for a specific mission or use a starship as a taxi.

Commodore (CDRE)

Rear Admiral (RADM)

Vice Admiral (VADM)

Admiral (Adm)

Fleet Admiral (FADM)

Daystrom Institute
Division of Advanced Synthetic Research
Cognitive Evolution Initiative

Headed by Dr Seran Fey the initiative was one of many operating in DASR attempting to replicate Dr. Noonien Soong's successful creation of an artificial intelligence. The members of the CEI decided to approach the problem of artificial intelligence from the opposite direction to most of their colleagues, instead of trying to build a synthetic intelligence from the ground up they wanted to see if it was possible to go from a biological base. The initiative operated for several years attempting to calculate the theory behind how one would go about transferring a biological consciousness to a synthetic body. Several attempts were made to build ultra hight resolution neural scans so that they could be transplanted into specially made multitronic computer systems but none of the attempts were ever stable enough to perform even the most basic tests.

The initiative struggled until they were joined by a well known Vulcan cyberneticist called Vaus who suggested that maybe the issue with scan's is that there was something deep in the brain that a cortical scan just can't pick up. A fresh idea helped invigorate the initiative and it's members started working on implants that could successfully map and scan these deep portions of the brain. During this development the team found that a more efficient way to achieve the same goal was to integrate computational nodes into the brain to encourage the brain to outsource some of it's cognitive function to an already digitised medium. The initiative now hit another road block, implanting the required computational nodes was practically impossible without causing major brain damage. The solution was proposed by Dr. Walker Bowdoin who had returned to the Bynar, who's own cybernetics were a base for several of the computational nodes. She highlighted that the Bynar easily survived their own implantation thanks to the young age that the surgery was performed.

Following a mild debate about various species suitability Dr Fey picked Trill from a shortlist of several of the more neurally malleable species. After a only slightly sketchy application to the ethics committee the initiative began growing an embryo using a synthetic womb in the lab. Upon Birth the child was immediately implanted with the first, and deepest, round of nodes. At this point many members of the initiative began to focus on other projects as the child would need several years of development before the implantation scheme was complete and it's cognitive pathways developed.

Excitement around the initiative grew again after the child turned 8 years old, at this point it was deemed that the pathways should be stable enough to clone. The next phase also had to be accelerated, the initial plan was to wait until the child turned 12, due to the initiative running short of funding as they had not yet provided a result and DASR was eager to allocate funds to "more promising projects". Initial testing was promising, the nodes offered an unbelievably detailed view into the function of the child's brain and careful examination revealed obvious emotions and even limited memories. Early transfer attempts still failed but the multitronic brains were showing significantly improved stability over the earlier cortical scan versions. Unfortunately continued failures eroded the confidence in the project and the final nail in the coffin was an attempt to merge a cortical scan model with the neural node model. Instead of cooperating the 2 neural networks competed and the following cascade failure destroyed significant portions of the multitronic array that the initiative was using.

Soon after the merger attempt the initiative was shut down as in DASR's view the additional funding needed to construct a new computational array was not worth the small chance of success. All of the scientists dispersed to other projects and the child was released permanently into Dr Fey's custody upon his own request
