I am looking to do a mostly canon Star Trek MxF with original characters. I am going to exclude most of Discovery and Picard. (I have NOT watched SNW either.)
The RP should be set in the early 25th century. My character will have completed Academy and a couple tours. He’s a “hotshot flyboy” if ever there was one. In fact, his service record makes it look like he stepped on the wrong toes (upset the wrong women and parents). Imagine mapping gas anomalies for 4 years …
I am thinking of having him assigned to a ship of the line - choice assignment - despite his records. At least SOMEone likes him? He’d be the new Flight Control Officer (helm/navigator) The ship is basically a future version of ST:TNG’s ship - but with all the bells and whistles new technology provides. The crew consists of about 300 oficers, 1700 enlisted and 500 civilians.
I am something of a veteran RPer. I do like to run multiple characters and will have several of the ship’s command officers developed (Captain, Counselor, some crew who were in his Academy squad). LOL, I have even considered surprising him by having his parents as a couple civilians - scientists - who will delight in embarrassing him.
