Star-Crossed...Sisters?

Mobius

Three Thousand Club

Payzalee x Mobius

Two girls whose past puts the odds infinitely against their favor are reaped for yet another Hunger Games. They think they've never met before, have no connection, heck, one's sparkle dust and one's tree sap,so what could they possible have to do with each other?Little do they know their parents' rebellious secret which the Capitol thought was lost with the souls they took will play a major role in their future...but,the little Mockingjay who said this might have been told a lie...

Jade sighed and cocked her foot, looking away from the group of Capitol freaks that were surrounding her.Her district representative, her stylist, and her prep team. All freaky looking with big hair or oddly styled beards. All with makeup that made them look like a doll from a horror movie."You looked amazing!" One chimed as she fixed the tank-top style sleeve of the top covering their little piece of meat."Stunning!Simply stunning!" Chimed another.Another minute passed, another sigh from Jade, more adjustments to the costume that Jade couldn't wait to rip off.Why does the costume need to be adjusted when the parade is over? She thought as she glanced at her district partner who was eying up the competition, looking less stupid in his man's version of her costume. The costume was a tank-top style thing accompanied by long, rather heavy pants that were designed to look like bark...and as much as she hated to admit it,Jade did think it looked like the trees back home.Although, she hated it on her legs and it felt just as rough as what it was supposed to look like. The top was the worst part.Absolutely horrifying.Absolutely embarrassing.Absolutely...awful.The main fabric that made up what touched her was the same as the pants and looked exactly the same, but fixed in every area possible were awful things that were supposed to look like leaves. They stuck up everywhere and one had continued to poke her neck during the entire carriage ride.Worst part, whatever they were made of reminded her of the plastic plant in the corner of her living quarters. The plant that she mindlessly walked into after getting out of the elevator.Stupid not-necessary turn. So,it sickened her.To think she actually looked like a plastic plant! The barely stifled snickers from her mentor,Johanna the pleasure trip, didn't help the matter in any way, either. Finally, she lost it and threw her arms up,cringing at the plastic-y sounding slap when her arms returned to her sides- the shirt was rather long and could technically have been considered a loose cocktail dress with pants underneath it."How can you think I look good!?" She exclaimed in pure frustration."I look like a plastic plant straight out of some sick, twisted factory!" And at that, she stormed away, tired of listening to the Capitol monkeys act all excited and thrilled for her "great experience, beautiful looks" when in a few days they would send her to an arena for one big bloody murder. It was all just sick and Jade was tired of it.

Thankfully, the elevator wasn't too far away.It wasn't there waiting for her,so Jade tapped furiously at the buttons, her temper long since blown up.How can they get such joy out of manslaughter? She thought as the force of her pressing got even worse. How am I supposed to kill all of these kids? She continued to think.Soon enough, she heard the voice of her mentor, which drowned out the laughter of her overconfident and vicious partner that was just turning Jade's stomach even more, and she wasn't too far behind."Jade! What do you think you were doing back there!?" She exclaimed as she grabbed her shoulder and turned the teenager to face her.Jade's expression was narrowed and tense, showing that she wasn't bothered by any bit of Johanna's supposed anger towards her."I was making a point,Johanna. They will not treat me like some dog in a show," she ground out through gritted teeth.Once she was done, she turned around quickly to face the closed elevator door. For all of their tech, the elevator was sure slow...or everything could be going on faster than she thought it was...or she didn't notice that she hit the button for the floor below their level.A floor she didn't even know existed, but was granting an elevator ride.A moment later,Johanna burst into laughter."Perhaps you aren't an easy target for the Careers," she stated in between her laughter, sounding somewhat surprised and somewhat impressed."I like your fire now,Jane-" Johanna raised an eyebrow and snickered when she was cut off by Jade grounding out,"Jade." With a shake of her head,Johanna continued,"Better than the distraught kid the Peacekeepers handed off to me.There's hope for you,if you listen to what I say." After that, the mentor pressed the right button to call the elevator to their level, laughed, and walked back to the others who were staring rather blankly."Yeah, and like you acted so mighty and confident before your Games started," Jade muttered as she walked into the open elevator door, not caring that none of her team were coming along and hoping nobody else would get on.With a sigh, she leaned against the glass back of the elevator and crossed her arms over her chest, unable to keep her mind from hanging on the word "Peacekeeper".
