Akira Tanaka (田中亮, Tanaka Akira) is a college student majoring in Biotechnology and the childhood friend of Kanae Saitou. He gained a compatibility with the Gemini medallion and transforms with the help of his sister, Hotaru Tanaka.

History

Background

Akira Tanaka was born to the scientist Genki Tanaka and his wife, Kasumi. His younger sister, Hotaru Tanaka, would be born one year later. Akira had a cold relationship with his baby sister at first feeling that she was stealing his parents' attention from him.

Their family moved a lot during his childhood due to Genki's job as a teaching professor. At one point in time, they got into an accident, which almost took Hotaru's life. Since then, Akira had warmed up to his sister, even becoming a bit overprotective. His parents, however, didn't recover from the incident. At one point in time, Genki left the country to pursue his own goal, leaving the two siblings alone in Japan.

They would later met Kanae Saitou and quickly become close friends with each other.

He took a major in Biotechnology when he entered university. The friends would stay close with each other until Kanae departed overseas to gain more experience.

The OLYMPUS Conspiracy

Akira was hanging out with the recently-returned Kanae in a cafe when Seiichiro Amamiya had crashed through the window after getting hit by a taxi, an incident suggested to be instigated by Aesir in order to assassinate him. Akira would later invite Kanae home, after which she showed him the Leo medallion that she had picked up earlier.

The next morning, he opened the door to a stranger, revealed later on to be the pseudo-Eldrian Youmo, before he was abruptly thrown about by the monstrous stranger. After he recovered, he rushed to give chase, until he found Kanae and Seiichiro in a destroyed convenience store, wrecked after the fight.

At first showing doubt over the veracity of their accounts, he would later come along with Kanae and Seiichiro to meet with the freelance reporter Yuusuke Mikawa in order to reveal OLYMPUS's evil deeds to the world. Their meetings would be cut short when they were attacked by the Holder of Taurus, Aoi Kaneshiro, who then proceeded to fight with Kanae all the way to the first floor.

After the end of the fight, he agreed to move to Kanae's house with the others, but not before going home first to fetch his sister.

• Gemini

• The Gemini medallion is an unique medallion because unlocking its true potential requires two compatible person using them at the same time. The primary body for the Gemini medallion controls the Black Star Castor, specializing in nimble movements and ranged attacks, while the other half controls the White Star Pollux, specializing in explosive close-range unarmed combat. Each compatible person can transform on their own, but the resulting forms are notably weakened, only having access to slightly enhanced combat power. When transformed together, the form is known as the Twin Star, Dioscuri.

    Castor is the basic form that the person compatible with becoming the primary body of Gemini could assume when transforming by themselves. The Castor ARMOR is a sleek, jet-black suit with seemingly minimal protection, only layered with a spiked shoulder guard on its right side. The boot on its left side is slightly thicker than its right, with similar spiked design as decoration. The full-head helmet was similar to a biker's helmet, with darkened full-width visor and smooth surface.
    
    This form doesn't have any accompanying weapon unlike other Medallion ARMORs. Its user have to rely solely on unarmed combat, with the help of increased physical abilities granted by the ARMOR and burst of power provided by the medallion for its Finisher.
    
    It's Finisher is an explosive punch called Starfall Down. It is pitifully weak compared to the Finishers of other ARMORs, but its low output allowed its users to use it in far greater frequency before they would get exhausted.

    Dioscuri is the main form of Gemini, achieved when two compatible people used it at the same time. During the transformation, the primary body will be used as the anchor, while the secondary user will turn into energy and get absorbed into the primary body. However, this relation is more or less equal. Both users exert the same level of control over the resulting fusion, so a high degree of mutual understanding is crucial in order to use the medallion correctly.
    
    The Dioscuri ARMOR follows the same minimalistic design as its singular forms, except that its color was split in the middle, with the left half colored in black and the right half colored in white. Its armor was considerably thicker than either Castor or Pollux, with spiked shoulder guards on both sides, thicker plated boots and knee pads, and the addition of black chest guard at the front.
    
    The helmet maintained its featureless design, but adorned with a crest of alternating black and white coloration. When the primary body speaks, the left-side of the visor would light up, and vice-versa for the secondary user.
    
    This form doesn't materialize its weapon right away, but is able to materialize bow and arrows made of condensed energy. It has two distinct Finishers which differs depending on which side is controlling the ARMOR at any given time.
    
    
    1. Starfall Shot is used by the black Castor side controlled by the primary body. After materializing the energy bow and arrow, the accumulated energy is shot into its target. The shot can be controlled even after release, allowing for impeccable marksmanship even at great distance.
    2. Starfall Down is used by the white Pollux side controlled by the secondary user. It is an explosive punch similar to the singular form, but its power of multiple times more destructive, sacrificing precision to deliver raw, explosive strike at everything that stands in its path.
